Just visited the Bellingham Barnes & Noble, today, November 27, 2015 (Black Friday), and had yet another amazing experience that I feel compelled to share.
First, this was my first stop on Black Friday to purchase some gifts. It delivered to my standards and went above and beyond. Not only did they have everything I was going to purchase, they had more, as well as employees throughout the store who were all so friendly, kind, and really took an interest in helping me search for items!
So pleased with one of them, who was on-the-floor. She was so happy, energetic and had so many great ideas for purchases for me. At the cash register, the cashier was also incredibly friendly and quick with the transaction. Not insanely busy as anticipated and was well stocked with books and media alike.
Barnes & Noble is one company that continues to change the goals and motives of its stores pending the customer base. Even with the heavy focus on ebooks (Nooks, Kindles, etc, etc), they have been able to change their inventory according to what I'd wanted and what is not wanted anymore. Books aren't out completely, but over the years, plenty of the space in this store has been changed and instead dedicated to gifts, toys, writing supplies and other things of that sort. I would hate to see Barnes & Noble be the next retailer to go under completely and their change in model seems to be working to keep them afloat. Good job Barnes & Noble!
Regardless, I'm very happy with the Bellingham location. I have to continue shopping here over the "just great" Walpole Barnes & Noble. This one is "over great", even with the lack of selection due to size constraints. Overachieving service in this day in age is a rare find! 5 stars.
