I had to report a Barns and Noble employee to Customer Service for the second time in a year. A year ago I reported him to his manager for making inappropriate comments about the reading materials I expressed interest in. His comments were racial and personal. His manager insured me he would be spoken to. I mostly purchase hard copy books online, I bought a Kendal recently as well, but I just so happened to be passing Barns and Noble at Arden Fair. It was just my luck that the man whose behavior I had to report was the only Barns and Nobles associate available. He is about 6 foot 3, slender, White American male, about 45 years old or 50. This time he was sarcastic, rude, and abusive in the matter of minutes while he was showing me where to find the book I requested. I have no idea why he thought I would not report him to management again. I do not stand for abuse, and when an associate is abusive, I will speak with their manager immediately. The employee I am referring to kind of discriminates immediately. He just looks at you and decides you are a problem and treats you accordingly. It doesn't work, I am polite and I usually have very unsophisticated needs when I come to Barns and Noble, just help finding a book. He is not able to execute this type of task without sarcasm, and abusivenesss, I am going to management correct his behavior. He is also significantly taller than me, which made his attitude and disposition intimidating.
