This beautiful hotel completely lives up to it's 5* rating. The grounds are amazing the staff are exceptional, it was a real treat to go for afternoon tea, food was delicious, next time, I'm staying over!

A stunning hotel with beautiful gardens. We had afternoon tea which was lovely. Really tasty deserts. It took a few minutes to get seated, but the service was good otherwise.

Nice hotel, it was traditional hotel with spacious suite with lovely views. Food was just ok. Lacked a bit of finesse with the service. Need more acknowledgment and training for younger staff.
Don’t put a spoon with brown sauce on it into my tomato ketchup bowl.

Had a lovely afternoon tea here with the family. Nice country location with lovely grounds; relaxed atmosphere; attentive, but not overly attentive staff; didn’t feel like we needed to be out at any point in time. The cakes and other food were delightful and we thoroughly enjoyed them. The scones were probably the best part. Very nice traditional spread.

One of my favourite afternoon tea place.
(Although I do feel as though recently the standards are going slightly downhill).
Nonetheless, experience has always been great.
Lovely customer service.
Beautiful settings.

Such a lovely old Manor house turned hotel and restaurant. The stay was great, rooms are spacious and clean. Service outstanding. The restaurant was spectacular.

Is this fawlty towers? We booked afternoon tea for my birthday. We then luckily called the day before just to check. They had no trace of our booking. 🤨 We had advised that we were bringing a dog and was told we’d be in the bar area. No problem.
So we arrive at exactly 4.30 when we booked. Were shown to the bar area. There was an uncleared table there which was just left.. As were we…..
Eventually we try to find any kind of staff who then tell us they are going to put us in a ‘special room’. (Aka a dull conference room).
Once again we were left there. Eventually we managed to find staff and said we don’t understand. We booked the table in the bar. We let them know we had a dog yet were then shunted into a completely different conference room of our own!!
We were then told that our table was gone because some people just turned up unbooked with a dog and so they were basically given our table!!
I then said to the elusive staff member it was odd to prioritise people that haven’t booked over those that had. To which she ‘replied that’s true!’ But went on to say it’s hard when people turn up with their dogs unbooked!! NO ITS NOT. YOUJUST TELL THEM THE TABLE IS RESERVED!!!🤯
Eventually someone had the revolutionary idea that perhaps they could add another small table to put the plates on in the bar!!😵💫
Eventually some tea turned up. Then some jam and cream. But nothing else…..
After much waiting and after all the tea was well consumed, the actual food turned up. No apologies for the shambles and had the gore to charge £140 for the shambolic experience!!
Honestly, give this place a wide berth if you want any kind of normal service. There is no one in charge and no one seems to know what they are doing here. With that kind of service maybe it’s ok at £60-70 but at £140 I think there is a level of delusion if they think that’s an acceptable experience.
An example of British service culture at its most disorganised, sloppy and disaffected.
