San Francisco’s New Restaurant Openings - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Barnzu is a modern Korean restaurant that shuttered earlier this year and recently reopened in Cow Hollow. The interior is industrial-chic with dark wooden tables and a color palette of black, brown, and more black. The menu includes a long list of cold and hot tapas (like a hamachi carpaccio and Korean fried chicken), rice bowls (like the yukhwe bibimbap), and main courses like sous vide galbi steak. Had a delicious meal here with fantastic service. The server helped us pick the amount of food that was perfect. We got a sampling of the menu and everything was so tasty! Not pictured but absolutely amazing were the mini savory pancakes with summer squash. It was a lovely date night spot and a great new restaurant on Union!

Stumbled upon this place, and it was a good time! Music was at a nice level, food was pretty good--not the best Korean in the city, for sure, but filling and not horrifically priced. Service was good as well. I would come back if I lived in the area, but maybe would not come here specifically for this spot.

Really good galbi interpretation by sous vide. Very tender and wrapped in fresh lettuce. Amazing. A large selection of soju! Beautiful cozy decor. Great service!

Absolutely stellar Korean dinner. Everything felt exquisitely crafted and each meal was sophisticated on its own yet built up a truly amazing meal. The rice wine pairings were beyond fantastic as well - I've never had a savory rice wine before, but it was extremely unique. Tony, the manager/co-owner, was extremely knowledgeable and gave us the history behind each meal, notes about how the wines were made, and overall made the entire experience absolutely phenomenal. We had the bulgogi, sizzling stone, fried chicken, and the barnzu rice balls. Everything worked so well together but was extremely unique on their own. I can't wait to come back and check out the rest of the menu!

My wife and I had an excellent meal at opening night at Barnzu. We’ve been looking forward to the opening of this Korean spot in Cow Hollow all summer and it did not disappoint. Excellent and sophisticated service paired well with incredible food— the Kimchi Fried Rice with Bulgogi was our favorite! Honorable mention to the savory pancake and the Korean fried chicken

Food was a bit on a salty and sweet side for my taste but they were all delicious! Will be back to try other dishes again. We (party of 2) ordered: Avocado Bomb Barnzu Rice Balls (5pcs) 48hr Sous Vide Galbi Steak Bulgogi Stew + side of rice Avocado bomb isn’t Korean but highly recommend 👌🏻 Galbi steak also comes with a side of lettuce, garlic and side paste to go with it. Bulgogi stew is delicious but definitely salty and it’s sort of meant be so you have it with rice.

What a fantastic meal! Absolutely the best Korean food I've eaten in SF. Higher end presentation and flavors. Every bite was tasty. Very happy to recommend.

One of my favorite restaurants in the city when craving Korean food and drinks. Everything in the menu is really good, although my favorite has to be the bulgogi stew and rice wine combination.
