We started off with the 'Chori Papa.' This dish consisted of pork chorizo, potatoes, peppers, onion, chipotle aioli, corn, goat cheese, chillies, and flour tortillas! The sweet tanginess from the chorizo and aioli complimented very well with the spiciness of the chillies, and was a great taco-tizer!
We then had the 'OG Duck Chaufa.' This dish was composed of duck confit, rice, edamame, egg, corn, Papi king fu, chillies, tobiko (flying fish roe), and cilantro. This dish was packing with flavour with every bite - so sweet, spicy, savoury, amazing!
For dessert, we had the sticky toffee which was a date cake with vanilla ice cream, dulce de leche, and candied chicharron! Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised with the chicharron, as I usually do not have it in a sweet dish, but overall this dessert was sweet, spongy, and paired well with the scoop of ice cream!
Of course, I had to get a cocktail because why not - I went with one of their recommended sweet drinks. Unfortunately, I forgot the name of it, but it was very delicious and refreshing as it had the same vibe as a Moscow mule because of the ginger beer base, and was visually appealing due to the flame it came with from the alcohol!
Overall, Baro met my expectations and did not disappoint at all. The interior was beautiful, the staff were great and helpful, and of course, the food and drinks were absolutely amazing!
