Baron's Bagels - Point Pleasant

This bagel spot could easily be missed since it doesn’t stick out visually but I promise if you gave it a chance you wouldn’t regret it. This place was packed when I went in on a Saturday at 10am but for a good reason. The ladies that greeted me were great and very welcoming. I asked for a bacon, egg, and cheese on a toasted everything bagel with a hash brown and also an Arizona. Definitely one of the top 5 bagel spots I’ve ever had and for under 12$. I know it’s just a breakfast bagel but I promise you if you’ve had enough of these in NJ you’d understand that not everyone can make a decent one. Would 100% come back here, if only it was closer to home :(.

4/20/24 update - Adding a picture of the bacon I received. These were never separated. This is pretty lazy Baron’s Bagels! Impossible for us to take apart. Lowering the stars because no one would appreciate opening up bacon and seeing this. 1st review - Have to share this picture, and this bite! I love that your everything bagels have salt! Salt is included in the everything seasoning and SO many places omit the salt. This bite was crunchy, cooked perfectly and had a bite of all the seasonings (not just tons of poppy and garlic)! Thanks so much for this perfect bagel! I love how you guys pay attention to the notes as well (lightly colored bagel, well done bacon, etc.) we add on grub hub. SO many places get it wrong. Thanks for getting it all right! Also, please don’t change. Keep doing the same thing you’re doing! Thanks so much, love a bagel lover 🥯

Hands down, these are the biggest bagels I have ever seen in my life! Now, coming from a Brooklyn family, I have certainly had my share of bagels. These were not only enormous, but they were tasty! Great selection of different flavors and they also carry a few gluten-free options (though smaller) for those that need them. Great service - not a long wait. Fun place to check out!

Baron's Bagels is hands-down the best spot for bagels in the Point Pleasant area! Their bagels are thick, fluffy, and absolutely delicious, with a great variety of flavors to choose from. It's a cash-only establishment - they have an ATM on-site (just keep in mind there's a service charge). If you're looking for top-notch bagels, Baron's is the place to go!

Can't beat Baron's. Some parking out front, prepare for a wait (or call in your order ahead). Bagels are amazing, large with a soft inside and nice crust. Porkroll is a meal in itself. Will always be my go-to spot for good reason. CASH ONLY ATM on site but avoid the fees and bring cash

These bagels were amazing!!! Our eyes were bigger than our bellies and we wanted to try everything. We finally decided on the steak, egg, and cheese bagel (toasted) and bacon, egg, and cheese (toasted). Our daughter got a planning rainbow bagel that was stacked with cream cheese. My husband and I shared a French toast bagel with Mueller's crumb bun cream cheese and the everything bagel with plain cream cheese (all were toasted). I have never had an everything bagel that was that flavorsome... Seriously the best I've ever had! The French toast bagel was no different... With the flavored Mueller's crumb bun cream cheese; it was out of this world! When we come to visit we will always go back (maybe even tomorrow lol). The staff was wonderful and you can tell they are one of the local's favorite places... It was busy!

I don't think I would care to ever get bagels from anywhere else again. I learned what an everything bagel should taste like today. We got an amazing rainbow plain bagel for my daughter and two breakfast sandwiches that were killer. The French toast bagel with Mueller's crumb bun cream cheese almost made me cry.

Barons Bagel's slaps every time! They pile it high and deep. Their breakfast sandwiches are great and I don't eat dairy so them having Tofu Cream Cheese options is amazing (the tofu scallion is the best). Good people too!

This location has always tried to over charge me beyond belief, I ordered an egg salad wrap and asked for a piece of turkey bacon inside they charged me an extra $6 to add that. One wrap and a bagel sandwich cost me $34 on more than one occasion. I will only go to the Brick location they are so much more pleasant & charge properly.

I have heard about this place and their vegan options but I had kind of forgotten. I called them and didn't expect them to say they had vegan/ gluten free bagels. They did! I went in and the woman said all the gluten free bagels were vegan as well, except for the plain one (which uses ricotta). I got an everything bagel with scallion vegan cream cheese. I also got a cinnamon raisin bagel with Just Egg, for my mom. The woman at the counter was very nice and informative. It was a nice experience. I found my bagel and cream cheese to be filling and tasty. The bagel is smaller and more dense than the regular bagels, but it is satisfying. My mom loved her bagel with Just Egg.

I was born in NJ so I'm a stickler for a good taylor ham (pork roll) egg and cheese on a bagel. I think the bagels at Baron's were not up to par if they're primarily a bagel place. They were more fluffy and like bread rather than a bagel texture. However their pork roll egg and cheese was loaded with meat! Remember they are cash only so bring cash but they do have an ATM on site. Also call ahead or order online as they are very busy. A bit disorganized with people standing around when you walk in but they do their best to help you out on arrival.

Delicious bagels. Super friendly staff. It's a quick in and out place not a sit down. Coffee is great, breakfast sandwiches are nothing less the plentiful. Holy meat!!! Yum! I love the super egg which is an egg everything but can't wait to try more flavors.

The bagels here are amazing! So good always fresh and probably some of the best bagels I've had. We order from here all the time and the bagels are always fresh and warm when they arrive! I have picked them up a few times and everyone is always so kind there.

I believe I lived in Adamson section for 25 years. I will stop in and get a bagel to go with something on it but every so often is Gwen and pick up a half of the bagels the best bagels in the area that I can find.

Bagels are always delicious, sandwiches not so much. I ordered 2 eggs over easy w/2pieces of cheese on a pumpernickel bagel. I asked them to please make them over easy. the girl at the counter ensured me they would be. then I asked for 2 hash browns well done. Eggs were fried, wasn't even sure there were 2 eggs and definitely not 2 pcs of cheese. hash browns were barely cooked and like mush. needless to say I threw the whole thing out. at least I saved a whole lot of calories. I called them 4 times to let them know...no answer. super disappointed.

Sandwich was delicious. Chicken salad was loaded on always a ton of customers coming in and out. Bagels taste very fresh and even better toasted! Will be back to try more sandwiches.

That's actually a picture of 2 sesame bagels. Not a sesame and pumpernickel. I got 2 sesame bagels to go yesterday and when I got home and opened the bag, one was burned, hard and inedible. Why would the counter person do that? They had to know what they were doing. Check your bags.

Barons Bagels are great, no denying that but their breakfast sandwiches have fell off from a time where the filling matched the bagel. Bacon Egg and Cheese is all Bagel; no Bacon nowadays. I'll stick to the bagel and cream cheese.

I've experienced bad customer service from this location multiple times. Years ago I had an old employee threaten me in front of the owner because I told them my order was wrong. The woman proceeded to yell and blame it on me because I am incompetent and can't order for my life. The owner just stood there and did nothing. I decided to give myself a break from this place and recently I started to go back again just to see if things have changed. That woman doesn't work there anymore and I try to keep my orders simple because I don't want to get yelled at. I went over the weekend to get a couple of bagels and I noticed the woman with dark hair and glasses yelling at an employee for doing something wrong. She was full on yelling too. I felt so bad for the worker because people make mistakes but yelling at the worker in front of customers is horrible. That worker probably felt so embarrassed. I really love Baron's but lately the workers have been so rude and nasty and it makes me uncomfortable. Maybe it's time to find a new bagel place.

Long time customer but deciding to finally leave a review after noticing some changes in the last couple years. Is this place still good? Of course. Is it as good as it was 6-7 years ago? Definitely not. They used to PACK the bagels full of stuff, which you can see in pictures from earlier reviews. In the last couple of years, there's a lot less filling. I thought it was just bad luck the first couple times it happened but it's been consistently less eggs, less cream cheese, etc. The bagels themselves are still absolutely huge and good as ever, which is why I can't possibly knock off another star. But I do miss the huge servings, honestly. Set them apart a little bit and now they're on par with most other bagel places nearby.

Hands down the best bagels in the area. Surprisingly the Jersey Shore doesn't offer much in the way of good bagel spots, most are living off the fact that their are limited options in my opinion. I drive from Lavallette to come up here on weekends in the summer because they are that good. The bagels are huge and they use double the amount of cream cheese that you probably need. $2.75 for a bagel with cream cheese is a steal. Pro tip: Order 1 with cream cheese, 1 without and scrape off some for the 2nd bagel, it can be done easily.

Egg bagel with cheese melted onto it?! French toast bagels! A literal foodies paradise! Was so excited to take a bite out of it! So delicious. Would recommend to everyone in the area!

Yikes- not a bagel, more like a truck tire! Ok, so they offer flagels too but what's the point? Less selection? The place only takes cash (wtf, it's not like the prices are any real- hell, a bagel with tuna is TEN BUCKS- is it laced with gold? I don't think so, but I guess it's an IRS thing). So like I said, these aren't bagels, they would double as flotation devices if you needed rescuing out in the inlet. Service is only good if you know the loquacious and selectively friendly owner John, who hires vacuous teens who may or may not know how to spell 'bagel' in less than 60 seconds. No trash can to be seen on the premises, and for the kicker, the prices vary from day to day based on the cashier's whim. A mile or 2 away is delicious bagels and they are just that, & it's roomier, friendlier, better parking ... Plus they take credit cards, have a great attitude and prices are reasonable !

So happy to be in New Jersey where small bakeries and kettle boiled bagels exist. The bagels and sandwiches at Barons are amazing. With a line out the door, my expectations were set high and they were met! A super friendly staff works their ass off to move the line quickly. I order 3 breakfast sandwiches. Turkey egg and cheese on a toasted cinnamon radon bagel, a pork roll egg and cheese, and a chorizo egg and cheese on a toasted jalapeno bagel. All three were delicious! There is nowhere to eat at the restaurant so plan on taking your order to go. They are a cash only establishment, which is the only negative I found. However, their bagels are worth a trip to the ATM. Next time, i will call in my order for faster service.

Barron's has always been great. I've recently discovered I have celiacs so bagels are a big no for me anymore. However they do have a small gluten free selection of bagels. If you know anything about gluten free breads and bagels, you know that all gluten free bagels are small, so don't expect the same size as the house made bagels. That being said, bagel was very good and toasting is a must. They still stack this sandwich high with pork roll, eggs and cheese. I don't believe there's a sign for gluten free bagels up anymore so I hope this review helps others find this bagel mainstay. Also, just let them know you have a gluten allergy/celiac, as they are not a gluten free establishment and will try they best to not cross contaminate. Enjoy!

Stopped in Jersey visiting family and in need of pork roll breakfast sandwich. Baron's did not disappoint, best one I've had! The service was great, guy at the counter even ran out to return $2 to mafter he accidentally charged for the wrong size coffee. Will definitely be back in time I'm in town.

Three words: TOFU CREAM CHEESE. This is the ONLY bagel joint in my area that I have found to have vegan cream cheese and it is absolutely DELICIOUS. My typical order is a Super Wheat Everything with Veggie Tofu Cream Cheese, but according to all of my coworkers, they have never been less than delighted with any of their orders either! They also offer vegan breakfast sausage on their sandwiches :) Great spot & quick prep and delivery via food delivery services. Give them a try if you are in the area, ESPECIALLY if you are a vegan or vegetarian!

To whom it may concern, I recently went to the point pleasant location this morning and honestly had one of the worst experiences I have at any of your locations. Some of the front staff at the Point Pleasant location are extremely rude and shout and give nasty remarks towards customers (there are multiple other reviews confirming this). This is not a "friendly" environment when you are rudely told that your order is on Seamless by GrubHub, when I thought I ordered it on google. Furthermore, I couldn't even eat my bagel because your staff incorrectly read the receipt and put ketchup on my bagel (which i cannot have - causes me to rash up). The label for the SEC clearly noted NOTHING about ketchup, the only item wanting ketchup was the top bagel a BEC. I had to complain to GrubHub and request assurance since it wasn't possible to get anybody on the phone. I look forward to hearing from someone regarding this experience.

I stopped here for breakfast on my way to work one morning recently. Delicious bagels! They're pretty large sized bagels. I got one with plain cream cheese but I've had their breakfast sandwiches before. Very good food and nice employees working there. I'll be back!

I will never order from Barons again. Ordered breakfast sandwich and side of bacon delivered. Received the sandwich but no bacon I called barons to ask them to fix it and they wanted me to drive in and get the bacon after I just paid for delivery. I was then told they can't do anything and call door dash. Door dash didn't forget my order Barons did. Very unprofessional. I feel bad for the person who answered the phone she was trying to help but the older woman could have cared less.. $6 a side of bacon and they also charge to toast a bagel.This is not a family orientated place at all, all they care about is your money... #boycottbarons #BB

This place has an excellent version of a what a bagel can be. I've stopped in a few times and the bagels are consistently good. The only draw back at this place hence the three stars instead of four is they put way to much cream cheese on the bagels to the point that is clearly an unhealthy amount to eat in any given day no less in one meal. My advise is get the bagels with nothing on them and do it yourself when you get home.

Good bagels. Too much cream cheese on them though- very wasteful. But some people may enjoy that. Lots of flavors or bagels and cream cheese. Not a huge fan of the flow like waiting behind the guy who got 8 breakfast sandwiches for a bagel with cream cheese not toasted, but that's not a deal breaker.

very good breakfast place! they have vegan tofu vegetable cream cheese and regular tofu cream cheese. being vegan it's very hard finding vegan places that serve breakfast and i'm so glad i found this place. their tofu vegetable cream cheese bagel is amazing. and there bagels are very big as well and for filling.

The best breakfast sandwiches in town! No matter how crowded this place gets, the owner always keeps things running smoothly and the wait is never too long. The bagels are made fresh here and you can definitely tell. There's a wide variety in both bagels and cream cheese. Their breakfast sandwiches are always packed with meat and made to perfection. Even their sandwiches are great. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else for my breakfast!

Count your change!!! First time I didn't realize they shorted me $10 when they gave me my change until I got home. 2nd time..... well what are the chances 2x in a row. It's a shame because the bagels are great. "All cash" and sticky fingers. Scamming locals is a damn shame.

If you're looking for a FAT BREAKFAST SANDWICH, here it is. 6 thick slices of Pork roll, gooey cheese and a delicious bagel. Not what you would expect from this tiny bagel spot in a strip mall. Bagels are soft and chewy and very large! We also got some French toast bagels to eat the next day and they were perfectly chewy, not overly sweet. Good pricing too for the amount of food. Definitely recommend!

On this cold 7 degree day - my husband needed some soup and a sandwich. Not being from the area we relied on YELP for help. Found this hidden gem. My lord the sandwich - HUGE. Literally enough to feed 4. The bagels are enormous and taste great. Will definitely hit this place again when we are in the neighborhood
