I visited by a chance while walking on Barceloneta beach…Nice to order paella for 1 person, and I drank beer and sangria with fried squid as well…It was hot on an outdoor terrace, but had a happy time and enjoyed dishes…

Very good foods, juicy hamburger i loved it. But personal are too busy and some times you have to wait for your check. But good was very good and personals are kind und friendly. Thanks all.

Our group of 14+ people had a great experience here after making a reservation. This is a fantastic place if you're looking for paella. If you want a truly excellent one, I highly recommend the meat version with beef. The beef was so well-grilled that it never became tiring to eat, which I did feel with the paella that had prawns and mussels. On a personal note, the staff was a bit scarce. They only came by once to take our orders, and then only to bring food or clean up. If we wanted a new drink, we had to be quick to catch them as they passed by. This might have been because there was another large group seated near us.

We entered told them we were eating, they sat us in the waiting area and handed us menus. Then another person came took our order of 2 bombas, lobster croquettes and a glass of wine. They handed us the wine and placed two napkins and forks on the table in the waiting area. As you can clearly see there are empty tables in the dining area. Another couple came in and were led directly to a table. When the food was brought to us I asked why we’re being served in the waiting area… his response was I didn’t know you were eating!!! He had out plates in his hand.. Service is horrible ….no reason to treat us this way. Hmmmm?? The food wasn’t that great either.

I recently visited this restaurant and tried the Spanish paella. It was a delicious experience, and the dish contained seafood. The taste was good, and the rice was cooked properly. The dish was a little salty, but I’m not sure if that’s how paella is typically made. I don’t mind salt as I personally enjoy it. The service was excellent, and the staff was friendly. The atmosphere in the restaurant was comfortable, and I recommend trying this place if you’re a fan of Spanish cuisine.

Google
The restaurant has a really nice location by the beach, but they have a lot of issues. For example, during our dinner they were mopping the floors continuously and all the staff was eating food from outside the restaurant in the table next to us. I think the staff is not trained professionally and they are not trained to serve clients. The food was ok, but it was not the best we had in their group of restaurants.

Google
Honest review: The restaurant has an amazing view. The food was OK. I grabbed a burger because I didn’t want paella anymore lol.. or anything else in the menu. The burger was medium cooked I’d say which was Ok for me. The staff members were really nice. I love it! There was a nasty couple there… they finish all their meals but after they ate it all, they started complaining about pretty much everything.. at the end they got dessert for free. It was really awful to see. The waitress however, was really nice! Thanks for being so patient Olga and also for being so accommodating with me. Love from El Salvador!

Food was just okay, slow service. Nice view of the sea from the restaurant.

Yelp
Paella is a national dish - this shrimp had been washed in bleach and not cleaned before serving - rancid. Waitress was unapologetic.

Yelp
The seafood paella was honestly underwhelming. The shrimp inside was probably the best part of the paella because it tasted very fresh. But the rest overall was nothing to brag about. We didn't order anything else besides the paella so hard to review this restaurant based on one dish but since it's their most popular dish I don't need to try the rest. The staff was nice overall

Yelp
Food was a 3 service was a 1 - not sure what is going on at this place but i would never recommend nor go to this place ever again. Great location right on the pier by the water, we stopped in after doing a tour on a sailboat and needed some food and booze... got here and the place was busy and I figured we'd give it a shot based on the decent Yelp rating and the tons of ppl sitting outside, big mistake. I had the oysters and they were terrible! Moms burrata dish was honestly amazing though... brother ordered a burger and it took 40 minutes, they did comp the burger though so that was nice.. Servers were really slow to get us anything, from our drink order to the food.. Definitely go elsewhere!

Yelp
Pretty sure it was an authentic paella. A little pricey but great views. Servers were nice and attentive.

Yelp
It is one of the more famous restaurants in Barceloneta for paella. I ordered the paealla with chicken pork chop, beans, mussels, squid, artichokes, and sausage. Not surprisingly, it was phenomenal. The rice was perfectly charred and crisp on the bottom. The seafood was very fresh. Mussels and calamari dominated the dish. Similar to the rice, the calamari had a tasty char to it. Next, the chicken was tender and moist. The couple pieces of pork chop were good. The one piece of sausage was good too. In addition, definitely get some bread so you can dip it in the olive oil at the table. The oil was awesome. The main dining area is on the second floor. Try for a window seat because it has a beachfront view. I was also confused when I got to Barraca. There is a small door that leads up the stairs to the second floor. I confused the restaurant next to it for Barraca at first. If you are visiting the Barcelona and looking for recommendations, feel free to message me through Yelp and I can share my itinerary/ recommendations, which includes my Yelp reviews. The information for an electronic copy can also be found via my Yelp profile.

Yelp
Top tier paella here!! Would recommend stopping by if you're in Barcelona only for a day!! It's a great place for lunch just by the water to relax and enjoy some good food :)

Yelp
This place was basically a horrible experience. The service was very unfriendly from the beginning. We ordered the smoked salmon tapas which was actually the one good thing we eat. We went here because this place was supposed to be known for Paella in Spain given that it is in Barcaloneta near the beach. We were wrong the Paella was somehow burnt but also undercooked. We ordered the Mixto Paella which was a mix of seafood and other meats but truly it was just bad. The top was burnt but the rice itself was very watery. I would not recommend coming here if you can find somewhere else. The Paella is bad I have had better in Miami. Disappointing that a restaurant in Barcelona can't make a national dish well at all and that to top it all off they are very rude to customers and it's overpriced. Avoid it if you can.

Yelp
For some reason I was expecting a traditional looking somewhat touristy seafront spot that we would have trouble getting a spot at on a Saturday lunchtime. Instead the beautiful modern restaurant on the first floor looks out through large windows onto the sea and the crowd was heavily Spanish-speaking. Service started off slow with the drink order but then was very prompt for the rest of the meal. We had exceptional pan con tomate to start and then the seafood paella. The flavours had really seeped beautifully into the rice, I think helped by the shallow depth of rice in the pan. To my uneducated paella palate this seemed pretty good and ours was thankfully not too salty as others have experienced. Overall if you would like a delicious rice dish (albeit not paella per se) I would suggest you check out nearby El Xiringo, but I certainly would recommend this as a nice, elegant place to eat good paella, and it's good for large groups.

Yelp
Because eating Paella on the beach is a Barcelona must-do, it was a no brainer to visit Barraca during my recent trip. Throw in a recommendation from Barcelona community manager Sharon A and I was really sold. What I love most about Barraca is the restaurant's open air feel. The second floor dining area has a massive wall of large windows that overlook the water which practically made me feel like I was eating my meal in the ocean. To start off the meal we ordered a bottle of white wine and were served a bowl of olives. If only complimentary olives could be served at the start of all my meals...sigh. For our meal we ordered the appetizer on special, fresh shrimp in garlic sauce, and a mixed seafood and meat paella for two. The shrimp in garlic sauce had phenomenal flavor. It was definitely very garlicky and strong, but too much garlic is never a bad thing in my book. I didn't love that the shrimp was peel and eat (guess I'm just lazy) but overall this was still a great appetizer choice. The paella for two was absolutely massive and came filled to the brim with mussels, squid, chicken, sausage, and artichokes and was very flavorful and well seasoned. The reason I'll knock off a star is because of the service, which was lacking. They literally forgot to bring us our paella. We began to notice that other tables around us who had sat down long after us were eating their paella...and when we asked the waitress we discovered that they had left ours sitting out, and essentially just forgot to bring it to us. Because of that, the paella was a bit burnt and dried out. And for 28 euro per person, that is really frustrating. Can you find better service and quality paella in Barcelona? Probably. But, fantastic Mediterranean views and a great vibe certainly make Barraca worth the trip during your next visit to Barcelona.

Yelp
Barraca is an elegant Spanish restaurant, primely located on the beachfront of Barceloneta and offering outside seating to enjoy the views. Interestingly, I had booked a reservation here weeks in advance and two of my tour guides during the trip also suggested it. Food: We started with padron peppers and a green salad, then wrapped up splitting the seafood paella. The peppers are a must try: perfectly cooked and generously seasoned with kosher salt. The green salad could have used some work... one of the large tomato wedges was green & unripe. Paella was spot on. That's what this spot is known for and it's definitely worth grabbing a platter. It requires at least 2 people (charged pp) and they have multiple flavors (seafood, black ink, vegetable, etc). A big miss here was service. Lack of attention to our table as we were sitting outside and had to wait around 15 minutes for our bill... until we finally just approached them for it. For the cost, I would expect much better service.

Yelp
Went to Barraca back in February, after hearing that it has one of the best paellas in Barcelona. I walked over to the restaurant (excellent location right beside the beach), and found out that it didn't open for lunch until 13h00 (I had arrived around noon)! That said, I wandered the beach until opening time. Ordered a seafood paella, along with vermouth. Vermouth was sweet and strong, which I enjoyed. Paella came in a skillet- a bit burnt, but not completely charcoal black. Still, presentation wasn't ideal. The dish was quite salty, but it went well with all of the rice and generous amounts of seafood- much appreciated! Not the cheapest establishment, and the paella was a bit too salty for my taste, but service was good and the location by the sea can't be beat! Give Barraca a try (or rather, a taste)!

Yelp
Went on a friend's recommendation who is a local and knows the people there, so service was superb. Food was excellent and it turned out to be a perfect rainy Sunday slowly eating away at Paella. Word of advice to Americans, it's not the stuff you get in NYC (Valencia?) - it's a bit darker and the rice itselfs tastes more seafood-y briney. But tasty experience for sure.

Yelp
just want to remind everyone that they charge the paella Per Person!! Not per dish! It is noted in the menu with very small letters. So take care. :(

Yelp
Probably would never come back here again. Paella was extremely salty, original waiter was rude and the staff is not welcoming. The calamari and bread tasted great along with the bravas. There is a good view if you sit up top so that might be a reason to get you to come but I wouldn't go out of the way to come here when there is much much better in Barcelona.
google avatar

Sheref T.

Yelp
I would try to avoid avoid this place at all costs. To start off they give you bread and some olives to start and charge you for it but don't tell you they're gonna charge you for it. The service was horrible. Not just for us but for a few other tables around us. The waiter was really bad and when a customer requested a manager he wouldn't get her one. This was pretty crazy especially since the place was pretty empty and they we The food was just ok. We got the patatas bravas which were ok and the Crab Paella which was a little salty and the crab hand to be broken by hand which was a little annoying. They have a pretty decent sized drink menu with good offerings.

Yelp
If you're looking for paella, then you should definitely come here. They start you with pan con tomato and olives, as is traditional in Barcelona, and then you proceed to get these huge hot plates of paella. We also ordered the patatas bravas and the croquettas (which were great) but with a large group two plates was more than enough. Also the bread was amazing, with whole grains and tons of flavor, made in house. We ordered the seafood one (the traditional one without chicken) and that was very seafoody so if you don't like that briney taste I wouldn't get it, and wish it WAS balanced with some other meats and spices, personally, but it was good. And we also ordered the specialty paella with the noodles instead of the rice and this is what people might know more of what paella is like because it had more spices and other meats and tasted less seafoody. I liked the texture of the short noodles so if you wanna try something that you might not get outside of Spain try it while you're here. Service was great and around 7pm I guess it isn't dinner time in the area yet so it was quite empty, but it got busier as we left. It's located in a very nice area, where you can get a nice view of the ocean so you might want to try to come earlier.

Yelp
Traveling from Richmond, Virginia. I had been in contact with someone via Facebook messenger from the restaurant in the week leading up to my trip about arranging a reservation for dinner for a special 30th birthday dinner for my girlfriend. Everything appeared to be confirmed and locked in. I show up and there is no reservation under my name, which as you can imagine was very embarrassing. Luckily there was plenty of seating and we got a table but not anything like the "best table in the house" I was told I would have. My girlfriend was very understanding and we both tried to make the best of the evening without making any fuss. The paella with meat and seafood was our main course and I warn you, it was awful. The dish was over cooked across the board and the dish reeked of fish, in a bad way. The scent matched the taste. There was zero depth in flavor as it had one baseline, salty fish. Service left much to be desired. Our waitress was a very kind, but was overwhelmed and very inattentive. The running water outside of the bathrooms didn't even work, so washing your hands wasn't even an option. My girlfriends best friend attempted to call from the United States and by a bottle of cava for her birthday and they wouldn't even entertain that. Really?! I've spent 10 days in Spain this trip and this was absolutely the worst experience I had. I'd give this place a .25 star if I could. Don't eat here!

Halide T.

Yelp
This was a recommendation that someone gave us for a good paella. We made online reservations just to make sure that we had a table. To our surprise, the place wasn't really packed. There were several tables around but it was fairly quiet. Considering the place wasn't packed, we hoped the service would have been a bit more attentive. Table service was slow but at least, the staff was friendly. We came here for paella and since it would take some time to cook, we ordered mussels as an appetizer. Definitely a good choice. However, paella was not even close to being the star of our meal. We had ordered a seafood paella and the seafood was dry, overcooked. The rice did not have that nice charred texture on the bottom that I was hoping for. Considering they are known for their paellas, we were truly disappointed. I really hope this is not how their paella normally is!

Yelp
We had a pretty mediocre experience at Barraca while we were on vacation. It had great potential and the food was pretty great but there were a few too many factors that degraded our experience. First of all, we were seated in a tiny downstairs room (that DID have a great view) and we were literally shoved against a wall. They pulled the table away from it to shove us behind it and then we had to move the table back towards us once we were seated so our other family members could fit on the other side of the table. Our waiters were very nice but they were constantly distracted by everything else. While we were ordering they were looking through the window at other waiters and listening to their ear piece instead of focusing on us - we were surprised that our order was correct. Once we ordered our food didn't take too long to come. The salads came out quickly and honestly, I think my salad was one of the best I ever had. The Artisan Salad had really soft mozzarella on top with fresh tomatoes and the dressing was delicious. Our paella came and my brother and I ordered the mountain paella which was really good, but the meat still had some hair on it. I don't know if that's just me but it freaked me out and also I just don't want to eat hair. My mom and sister ordered the mixed seafood paella and we had a close call. It was delicious but on the English menu, it said Clams even though it meant Mussels... BIG DIFFERENCE. We have a shellfish allergy in our family and my sister started eating before she realized they were not clams. The Spanish menu is written correctly but just make sure if you have allergies, that you clarify with the waiters before you order. Overall our food was pretty good and the servers were really nice even though they were distracted but I still feel like we paid for a better experience than we got.

Yelp
By far one of the best Paellas in Barcelona. Great friendly staff, magnificent view of the beach in Paseo Maritimo. 2 Michelin Stars Chef. We ate so much and it was all so good. They start you with house olives and pickled garlic n tiny onions. We started with Bomba Barracca, delicious fried croquettes, fried Squid with tartar sauce, steam mussels in Lemongrass and Szechuan sauce, delicious. Another bowl of steamed clams, mussels and more in a delicious broth. Cod fritters, oh so good, and I do not like cod! Burrata salad with arugula, tomatoes and herbs; balsamic vinegar and delicious Artequina Olive Oil. The piece de resistance ; the Paellas, we shared two different ones. Both equally delicious. Desert Crema Catalana , I did not like it, and pears with delicious ice cream. What a great meal. Try to go, you will not regret it. Bon appetit. May be a bit pricey but oh so well worth it.

Yelp
This is temporary one star until the owners reach out to me and refund the funds their waiter clearly exaggerated on the bill. Me and my friend ordered one Paella that costs 22.50 euros and two tapas 7-5 euros each. The food totalled max 35 euro or so. We ordered two Vino Blancos and the charge was 78 euros. This is impossible given menu prices. We did not specify which wine, said white wine. Chances are the waiter chose most expensive wine selection to make money. Please look into this or reach out to me. - Just saw another persons review that he was charged for good and olives that waiter forces on the table without even asking if we want. They did the same with us. Olives and bread arrived when we were finishing Paella. I even told mu friend why would they bring this so late for free??? Apparently its not free but we never asked for it!!! I'm so mad will give you 24 hours to refund before I go all over the internet posting truth.

Yelp
This is a poor excuse for a restaurant. It took 25 minutes to get served our glasses of wine. When we got our glasses, their pour was incredibly small, but they thought it was normal. From there, getting food seemed impossible. There was also another guy that was so frustrated, that he stormed out. I guess they must get traffic due to the location, but for a city known for its food, this is a bad example.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is amazing! great atmosphere next to the ocean. And the Paella is incredible, they also have great wines.

Yelp
Came in expecting to having some good paella. Came out very disappointed. As soon as you walk in there is a distinct fish smell and we should've known that our paella would be too fishy just by that. Had to ask the waiter for bread and tried to charge us for it after we asked 3 times. Only 3 people had the olives out of the 5 of us and they tried to charge each person $2. They did end up taking it off our bill in the end. We weren't expecting great service because this is Europe but we had to wait 15 minutes for drinks and he forgot we ordered a beer!

Yelp
Before my trip to Barcelona, I scoured all resources to find the best paella in the city. Barraca came up a few times as a more refined, high-end option, so my boyfriend and I decided to try it out in comparison to a homier paella we'd just had. The setting was beautiful, with an open-air upstairs seating area facing the ocean at Barceloneta Beach. The beachy vibe prompted us to order a pitcher of sangria, which was probably one of the best sangrias we had on the trip. Their menu is definitely on the more expensive side, but they have a good assortment of tapas/appetizers as well as different paellas. We started with the cod fritters, which were fried just right with a delicious seasoned breading. The cod flavor still came through, and the size of the fritter was just enough not to be too heavy. We also finally decided to give the patatas bravas a try, a dish that's on literally every menu in Barcelona. It's basically just potato wedges with aioli drizzled on top, and I found theirs not to be particularly special and a little too greasy. We chose the seafood paella upon recommendation by the waiter, and were presented with a giant pan that filled the width of the table. The seafood was all cooked perfectly, and I loved the texture of the rice. Across all the paellas I've had, this one had the best cook on the rice. It had a good chew and had soaked up a lot of the natural flavors of the seafood and its broth. I loved how the paella wasn't wet, and had the crispy rice on the bottom I look for. However, it was noticeably too salty. A touch less sodium would've made for the perfect paella. All in all, it was a great dining experience with an amazing view. It's definitely geared more towards tourists willing to spend an extra buck, but worth a try to break up the monotony of restaurants on Las Ramblas.

Yelp
The paella was wonderful, truly; however, you won't order a dish under 40 euros. Granted, they are all portioned for two people. As is annoyingly customary in many restaurants, the olives and bread put on the table is not free. You are not told that you will be charged or you touch it, but you will. The tap water we were given we were charged for, and the service was crazy slow. We were at the Restaurant for over 2 hours. 30 minutes was ordering and eating, the rest was waiting. There were barely twice as many guests as servers, no reason for the delay. Again, food was great. It was literally everything else that was disappointing.

Yelp
So so sad to say that Barraca was the least enjoyable meal of our trip. I came with such high hopes for paella after it was recommended to us by a local, on top of seeing it listed in a thrillist article and several others as a top paella spot in Barcelona. The experience started weirdly as we arrived at 7:30 on a Friday night and were asked to wait 20 minutes because the dining staff was having dinner. The host was kind enough, however, and we had drinks while waiting. Eventually we were seated upstairs in the mostly empty restaurant and saw that yes, the dining staff really were eating dinner! Someone then brought us bread but no menus for a while. Luckily we pretty much knew what we wanted to order. The meal started pretty good. We had croquettes with jamon that we're perfectly crisp on the outside, fried calamari with a lovely horseradishy tartar sauce, and a mouthwatering pot of garlic shrimp. Everything was scrumptious. Then the paella came. It was huge, looked beautiful but the rice was inedibly salty. We ordered the octopus and mussel paella with aioli, but the octopus was undercooked, the mussels were so/so, and the aioli was underwhelming- in fact there was hardly any aioli at all. Then the bill came. Not only were we shocked to discover we were charged for bread and olives, which we never received, we were also double charged for water and the listed menu price for paella was per person (unclear) making it the most expensive AND least enjoyable thing I've eaten in a long time. They did adjust for the olives we didn't receive and the water but regardless, I left with a literal and metaphorical bad taste in my mouth. TL/DR: weird service, overpriced, not great food. Don't come here.

Yelp
The second floor dining room looks out onto the ocean and Barceloneta beach. The decor is California elegant- wishbone chairs that feel homey. This place seems to be best known for Paella and they had 6-8 options on the menu. The Nomes white wine was a nice contrast to the cod croquettes and seafood paella that we ordered. The prawns and shrimp in the paella were small but sweet. The squid was intriguing smoky. I prefer my clams and mussels a bit more moist, but overall fun to try a true local paella. The Paella prices felt a bit expensive for the amount of seafood included, but the service and view made this a memorable meal.

Yelp
When you've been on vacation enough times, you know when you're getting the "tourist look". The expression on the face of a service professional when you ask for something that may be out of the ordinary. I know when I'm doing it too. And while I don't believe that the customer is always right, in this case I was. Let me explain. We had dinner reservations at Barraca at 8. The plan was to walk around Barceloneta ahead of time and work up an appetite. But the rain in the forecast had second thoughts. Thus, our arrival was early, but it wasn't a problem due to their excellent sangria. After a few glasses and an appetizer, it was time for the main course. Due to the rain I asked that they seat us right in front of the huge windows on the street side of the restaurant. Unsurprisingly, the Maitre D gave me the tourist look, but I was pretty sure about this one. The rain was picking up and the forecast showed it was going to get worse before it was going to get better. And I wanted to sit in front of their giant windows, eat paella and watch a crazy storm over the Mediterranean. Know what? It was amazing. The paella, the sangria, the storm, everything. We were in such a good mood and talking with the waitress that she gave us a free after dinner drink. Fun patrons liven the mood.

Yelp
It actually broke my heart that I had such a bad experience here after finding this place via Thrillist and seeing so many great reviews. I was really, really looking forward to coming here. Half our party is vegan, so I called ahead to make sure they served vegan dishes, and the woman I spoke to said yes, very enthusiastically. Great! We arrived and ordered a bottle of wine plus 2 cocktails and 2 starters, but our vegan diners weren't interested in the one single vegan option on the menu, so we informed our waitress that this would be all we were having. Immediately the manager came to our table and started berating us, saying that we needed to leave and she can't have us taking up space at her restaurant for 3 hours if we weren't ordering more food...which was upsetting because the majority of the time we spent there was simply waiting to be served. By the way this was about 20 minutes into our dining experience, so not sure why she was under the impression we would be there for 3 hours. Also in my opinion an entire bottle of wine plus 2 cocktails and 2 appetizers isn't an unreasonably small order. We asked for the check, so we wouldn't take up any more of their precious space (interesting since half the tables were empty) and the check came, with the added bonus of a "diners fee" charging each of us basically just for coming in. Diners fee? I thought that restaurants bring in revenue by selling food, not charging people money just for existing... Anyways, we asked the waitress if she would remove it, and she said it was for the olives and the bread. (We never received bread so idk what that was supposed to mean) She said she would take it off, left with the bill, and never came back, so after another 15 minutes of being ignored and watching the manager talking to several staff members and pointing at us (lol) we decided to just leave cash on the table in the amount for the total bill minus the dining fee, but including a few euro tip, and go. We did so, letting our waitress know on the way out, and the manager actually came running after us out on the street to yell at us some more!! Perhaps they treat fellow locals fine, but if you're just visiting, I would definitely avoid. I'm just so sad because I was really looking forward to coming here and it was just depressing since this restaurant was featured for being so great. By the way- We were not stereotypical "loud Americans" being brash and obnoxious or making unreasonable requests. Just came in and had 2 appetizers and some drinks and I tried my best to communicate in the small amount of Spanish I know. The food we had was eh, okay, so I'll give Barraca 2 stars for that part. But really, I'm just heartbroken that I had such high expectations from this restaurant and it ended up being one of the most upsetting dining experiences of my life.

Yelp
Terrible service. Terrible service. Terrible terrible service. My friend and I were the first to arrive, and have watched 3 tables order and get served ahead of us. I'd love to tell you about the food, but 40 minutes in and I'm still waiting to eat.

Yelp
Although the food was great, the service wasn't and it dampened the experience. After a somewhat rude start to our arrival, we were seated outside on their main level, and ordered the large seafood paella to share. Once the food arrived, I immediately realized that it wasn't the seafood paella. There seemed to be some sausages and I don't eat red meat, so I simply avoided the food until our server came back and we could ask. About 5 minutes later, I flagged her down and she realized the mistake. They brought the correct dish after not too long of a delay, and it was delicious. Overall, it is a bit of a shame that the service wasn't on par, because it had such huge potential.

Yelp
We had a few recommendations to go eat here, sadly enough we did not get the chance to eat here. The service was abominable, although the restaurant was not busy. We had to wait for 10minutes before being acknowledged. Then we asked for a table and we were told to wait a few more minutes, this resulted in them telling us we could not sit outside because the terrace was closing. This was after 18 minutes of waiting, they could have told us this when we arrived. But they wasted more than 15 minutes of our time before telling us. Eventually we decided to leave, this was a very unpleasant experience. I was shocked to read all the positive reviews (regarding the service), because i can honestly say this was the worst i have ever been recieved at a restaurant. I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody.

Yelp
We didn't have a reservation, but the staff here was very accommodating and we were able to get a table for four by the window that overlooks the beach. We ordered sangria, a few appetizers, and two different kinds of paella (seafood and mountain), and everything was amazing!!! The seafood in the paella was fresh, the sangria was magnificent, it was all just a wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend you check this place out if you are in Barcelona.

Yelp
They have quite sea food options that awake your temptations. Yet, the best you'd come for is their superior location, in front of the famous and beautiful La Barcelonita beach, usually filled with life and fresh breeze :). Deserve a visit.

Yelp
Went there as a friend recommendation. He was right. This place is awesome. Plus the view is a plus. They have the best seafood paellas we had in our trip. Coming back next time we are in town :)

Yelp
This place was absolutely horrible. We walked in and one of the waiters tried to act as though we had no reservation and told us the restaurant was closed. We literally saw our reservation on the computer screen. After leaving because we were so uncomfortable, the manager chased us down off the street and told us to come inside. Due to the awkwardness of the situation we agreed. He proceeded to give us champagne we did not order (which we thought was on the house bc of the bad service) only to find out he charged us for it on the bill. The whole vibe of this restaurant was weird and unprofessional and the food was nothing special. Do not recommend.

Yelp
If I lived in Spain, I would be a regular at this restaurant -- the food is excellent and the service is fantastic. An American friend recommended this restaurant over a year ago and I finally got to go during my trip to Barcelona. The paella was absolutely delicious, and so were the cod fritters. The host was really wonderful, spending time with me and my husband discussing the best way to cook paella after he found out I love to cook. The waitress spoke great English and was very professional. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Food was good and the view from upstairs window was beautiful, but service was just terrible. I get that this city is a bit laid back, and maybe I'm just an anxious New Yorker, but I mean a dinner for 2 and we only ordered 3 dishes shouldn't have taken 2.5 hours. It wasn't even that busy of a night. The entire wait staff just seemed crazed for no reason and hindered my overall experience.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this restaurant while walking along the boardwalk. We ordered 2 types of paella, and both were outstanding. We noticed that many of the patrons appeared to be locals, not tourists. One thing to note: a reservation is necessary to eat here.

Yelp
Amazing paella! Good wine selection. A little overpriced. Some surprise fees for "complimentary" olives and bread.

Yelp
Avoid! So over priced, tourist trap! Ordered the seafood paella, it looked like soup, was not good. When the bill came, we questioned why it was so much and we're told that the price is doubled for two people. So for the soup and a bottle of cheap wine the bill was 95 euro! Bye Felicia!

Yelp
Great restaurant. We didn't have a reservation but the waitress was very kind and accommodated us after 10 minutes wait. Good was really great. No complains and the wine was very good too and not too expensive for the quality. With appetizers, main corse and wine we paid 50€ per person. Again, the quality was excellent.

Yelp
The arroces are Fantastic! the service is great and the waitress will help you pick an excellent pairing wine. Not to mention the views... these are perfect from the second floor so ask for a table there.

Yelp
The fourth star is for the view which was a lovely view of the ocean. Definitely go here for lunch or the afternoon. We had the seafood paella which was good but not amazing. I would order something different next time. Make a reservation.

Yelp
Too bad we landed here with a large group coming in for lunch. Service varies from server to server. Some of them they've tried their best to give proper English explanation of what the food items are, the rest is trying to avoid contact. Didn't order the paella as I feel it is too over price and doesn't have something that we like. We just ordered an appetizer and didn't have much attention from the server afterwards. We ordered their famous dessert but unfortunately due to the busy place, they didn't give us a good presentation and the ice cream are half melted. Gladly the floor manager is willing to exchange it for me and deliver a proper ice cream dish. Must check bill as they surprisingly charge additional drinks on us... Sorry... Not a good experience. One thing important is if you sit upstairs, please don't take the middle section 2-people table as the server will walk into you or your chair to get to the tables close to the window. Beautiful place but really disappointed with my experience here...

Yelp
Definitely a locals place. We didn't have reservations and the host made us feel like he was doing us a favor by squeezing us in? You guys do know you're located in a tourist area right? Your restaurant was less than half full. The waitress was so nice, so helpful but her boss felt the need to override her. I noticed a couple times he was correcting her...she was doing a great job! Food wise: it is really good. We had the chicken croquettes which were awesome, a cioppino dish of some sort which was really good and the paella. Odd thing is that you have to order for 2 and it ain't cheap! I think it was around 30€ each. Why don't they just put the full price and explain it's enough to share? Overall the food was great and our waitress...I just don't know how I felt about the host who happened to also be the one correcting our waitress. Completely awkward!

Yelp
Wow! Such a cute little spot with amazing views and a nice vibe. The service was great and the food was excellent!! The baked fish was great and the beach prawns were to die for!

Yelp
Came here by way of a New York Times article (http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/01/travel/36-hours-on-the-beach-in-barcelona.html?_r=0). I arrived near the end of lunch time and was greeted by the manager, who was tending the bar downstairs. I was escorted to the upstairs seating area and was immediately impressed at the space. The large windows allowed for fantastic views of the Sea. The Paella will not disappoint. Although the menu suggests the paella can only be ordered for two, they acquiesced my request to make it for one (I offered to take the second half home, if they didn't). Also had the Cod Fritters. They were definitely the best I have ever had. Light, fluffy, and perfectly seasoned. Served in 3 or 6 in a platter that almost seemed to be made exactly for that dish. The waitstaff were helpful and very accommodating. The manger even came upstairs to check on me told me to stay as long as I wished. They even offered to re-cork my bottle of wine to take with me or enjoy at the bar later. What a fantastic experience. Personal, friendly, and knowledgable waitstaff with a top notch menu. Don't miss this when you are in the area. And yes, they take Amex!
