I’d rate it 4 if looking at food only but if you like decor and style it’s down to a 3 🤣 So this place is like a time warp back into early 2000’s middle America in some ways. Do not come for trendy food or stylish decor. Do come for large portions and fresh food. I had the special salad for $16.95 and my husband had the burger for $15.95. For the hill we think these are great prices and good value. The restaurant is huge with a bar and lots of high tops. Definitely a casual spot and not pricey for the hill at all. The decor is super non-cohesive and that’s what makes me feel like I’ve been transplanted to early aughts middle America but don’t kill me;I like nice things 🤣 This is going to be a good spot to come with a crowd or to procure a table for a large group- which is another rare thing to find on the hill imo. The blue cheese both in my salad and in my husband’s burger was such a walk down memory lane and so good. Think sentimental comfort food, I suppose.

Joey's is a great place to hang out ...may be my new regular spot. We came in when they were doing a photo shoot for there food an ld he volunteered to give us the photo food. All great food ...we ordered calamari and a burger each...burger had a good char taste and a scrumptious bun. He provided hot wings, chicken tenders, risotto balls all good serving size for appetizers.

Went here with a bunch of coworkers for HH. The staff is very attentive and fun to be around. John (the owner) checked in our party to make sure everything was good. The food is affordable and delicious. Gotta come here!

Annual 8th Grade DC trip with Little Flower from Indianapolis and game 7 against the Knicks. This was the best dinner for 48 and watching the game was a great bonus! Food was wonderful and the staff was better! 🤘🔥🤘

Great bar food menu. Outstanding liquor selection, and the "Coup de grâce" unlimited mimosas. Justin is one of the greatest bartenders that you will ever have.

We were in town for a Saturday afternoon Nationals game with a 9 year old and a 6 year old. We were early and couldn't find a place to park so we could have lunch. After a frustrating hour of driving around DC, we finally found a parking place and then we found Joey's. We were treated like family and all our frustrations melted away. We got great service, a great adult menu plus a nice kid's menu. The steak sandwich and turkey club were excellent--large portions! The kid's spaghetti was a big hit. Prices were reasonable. Joey's saved our trip! By the time lunch was over, our reserved parking at Nationals Park had opened and we were totally relaxed for the short ride to the game.

Incredibly friendly staff with great food at good prices. The owner was very nice and checked in on us and engaged in friendly conversation. We sat outside on the rooftop with our pups and the staff loved them and took good care of them as well. Will definitely be coming back!

So glad to have a new place on Barrack’s Row. Inviting from the street with nice lighting to draw you in. Comfortable seating inside and the bar area looks good too. The wait staff are friendly and attentive and we met the owner-nice touch. Even the chef came out to speak with customers at another table! Great food all around from the chili, the chopped salad and a perfectly cooked burger. Nice cocktails and wines too. Seems like a good place to meet friends for a casual night in the neighborhood. We’ll be back!!

Yelp
Synopsis: The reviews are true! Dets.: Stumbled into this place last night and had a beautiful time. The food (burger) was juicy and well-seasoned, and the company was even better. Justin and Linda were super attentive, even covering my drink for me when I went to the restroom. The only "ding" I would give this place is that it hasn't quite found its vibe; it seems to be everything to everyone, but I think it may need to more boldly step into what kind of place it wants to be. I'd hate for this adorable, friendly spot to lose to less worthy (but more defined) competitors nearby.

Yelp
Nice ambiance, the upstairs patio overlooking Barracks Row is a great place to sit and watch the world go by. A decent drink menu. Service is attentive. The food is mediocre and the menu could use some upgrades.

Yelp
Came in here for a few drinks the other night. Great spot to hang out on Barracks Row, really the type of bar the street needed. Staff is friendly and quick, we did not eat but the menu looked good. Prices were super fair. If you are in the area it is worth stopping in!

Yelp
Great Energy from entering the place! Long bar with many seats. Our bartender Justin greeted us with robust energy and inviting conversation. I was able to drink some of my Go To drinks such as rum & coke, also White Russian. The food was doing the damn thing!!! I had some chili and also a Rueben sandwich that was hitting my soul just right. Also had a hot dog that was just as amazing! I'll be seeing you guys often!!

Yelp
Joey's has been open for 11 days, we came in on day 9 and I was pleasantly surprised! I've been waiting for something to replace CAVA since they shut down, so it was great to see something different in its place. They have a great cocktail menu, with specials from their bartenders and the food menu is pretty extensive. I'm a big fan on their chili cheese fries (add jalapeños and thank me later) I enjoyed a variety of cocktails on night 9 and came back for happy hour on day 10! They have a secret drink menu too and both bartenders Justin and Linda are great! They are very attentive and personable. You'll be treated very well by both of them. If you're looking for affordable food and drinks, you won't go wrong stopping into Joey's.

Yelp
We came to Washington D.C. with a group. There were a total of 13 of us. A few of us ended up at Joey's Friday night after the Marine Barracks Parade. That group talked about how great it was and so the next day we ended up there again after touring the Monuments on Saturday. Well, Sunday came and after being at Mount Vernon all day we went back!! We have had chocolate mousse, lemon drops, ribs, brisket, and several other meals, desserts, and drinks. We became close friends with Terry the manager and Carlos the server. The outside area was great, the inside bar was cool and we enjoyed the hockey game. We really loved the rooftop where we were able to enjoy cigars. If you enjoy good food, great deals and incredibly kind people this is your place!!'

Yelp
Delicious and super fresh. Large portions. Service was great and traditional casual bar environment.

Yelp
To start, we were seated immediately (arrived at 4pm on a Saturday) on the rooftop overlooking the street. There was a mix of shade and sun for those that need options. Also, if you prefer to people watch, you can be seated outside on the sidewalk dining area. There are inside dining options as well. The server was friendly, attentive, and funny. ASK FOR KELSIE. She was awesome. Ok for the food! The taco appetizers were SO GOOD and they looked like an entree. Portions are ridiculously large here compared to other restaurants in the area. I got the Brisket entree. It looked like two 8 oz steaks were put on my plate! Portions were huge. And the brisket was moist. High five for the double win! If you are looking for a good place to eat, casual and laid back atmosphere, with exceptional service, and large portions, come here. I travel and eat out ALOT. I was inspired to write a review because I hope other people get to experience what I did. Cheers.

Yelp
Excellent atmosphere and is nicely renovated. The restaurant has a great vibe and very friendly bartenders. The second floor offers a toasty environment to enjoy drinks outside even in February. Excited to come back in the summertime.

Yelp
Good food and friendly staff. They are stepping up the game for the casual bar and grills in the neighborhood. We have some great bars and restaurants in the area, but it's nice to have a place with simple but high quality food. We had the turkey burger with salad and the reuben with chips. The turkey burger was delicious! I've tried all the turkey burgers on the Hill, and this is now my favorite. The salad was generous and pleasantly crunchy with a nice mix of lettuce...and somehow they had tasty tomatoes in the middle of winter. Most importably, they clearly make their own salad dressings. I hate bottled dressings with all their sugar and gloopy oils, and being from the midwest, I'm also a bit ... particular... about my ranch. This ranch had a nice herb flavor, was well seasoned without being salty, and had the appropriate runny consistency that still would coat the back of a spoon. I'm also excited to try the vinaigrette now that I know they make their own dressings. I'll be going back for a salad soon. My partner had the reuben. The sauerkraut and dressing were pickley without being sour, and the bread was perfectly grilled. The owner and chef were both out and about making sure everything was running smoothly, and the staff were attentive. Check this place out next time you're looking for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
What a great addition to Capitol Hill-- delicious food, good atmosphere, reasonable prices. I'm going to get some friends together soon to check out the upstairs open air patio (with heater if needed). So far I've enjoyed the salmon entre and the delicious--and authentic--lobster roll. There's lots more on the menu for me to check out!

Yelp
We stumbled on this neat place while exploring our temporary neighborhood. The food was awesome and the staff was great. 100% recommend.

Yelp
Simple but delicious food. All the salad dressings and sauces are house made. Turkey burger was great and came with generous salad and house-made fresh bun. Chicken tenders were hand-breaded and really juicy. Check this place out! Food is so much better and more real than the other bars in this strip. Also--great roof patio!

Yelp
We came for a late lunch. The food was good- we had a burger, Rueben sandwich and hot pastrami sandwich. They were all tasty and fresh. The senate bean soup was bland. Fries were crispy and had good seasoning. The table next to us was very noisy, there were about 10 people. It was unfortunate we were next to them. The service was good and prices reasonable.

Yelp
Great friendliness, price, taste, and space. I had the beef biscuit, which was tender, tasty, and large. Staff repeatedly checked on us to see how we were doing.
