Barrafina Borough Yards - Review - London Bridge - London - The Infatuation

"Spanish tapas mini-chain Barrafina has its winning formula of stool seating, counter eating, and croquetas and tortilla snacking down to a tee. The London Bridge location has all the hallmarks of the city’s pan con tomate empire—sleek, shiny furnishings, friendly service, a bustling open kitchen—but lacks a little of the big-hearted, Long Lunch energy of its Soho siblings. Nevertheless, it’s a very useful place to know about to escape the chaos of Borough Market. Plus it’s within the same building, connected by a warren of corridors, to Bar Daskal—a fun spot for wine and cocktails pre or post dinner. photo credit: Barrafina" - Daisy Meager

My friend and I had counter seats and were able to see all the food being prepared. Definitely one of the better Spanish tapas restaurants in town. Food remains flavours wine and well executed. Service is generally good and unintrusive. Only downside is that the decor is starting to look a bit dated now. A strong reliable choice otherwise.

It was a pleasure to watch the chef carefully composing each dish and checking every plate before it left the kitchen — a clear sign of pride and attention to quality. The squid in ink sauce was a highlight: fresh, simple, and beautifully balanced. The Padron peppers, unfortunately, lacked the expected texture and came out a bit soggy. However, the desserts were exceptional. The frozen lemon was sharp and refreshing, while the tarta de queso was rich, creamy, and perfectly executed. A strong finish to an overall enjoyable meal.

One of my go-to tapas spots in London. Everything is always on point and delicately prepared. The razor clam from the seasonal menu was absolutely amazing — we wanted to order it again but it sold out quickly, which says a lot! Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great tapas and a chill night out with friends.

Great Spanish food in a lively setting. The tortilla was perfectly runny, the hake fresh and flavorful, and the artichoke dish was a nice surprise.

We enjoyed a Saturday afternoon lunch here after everywhere was full- they are all missing a trick! We sat at the bar and were served by Anton, who was kind, attentive and let us enjoy our afternoon at our own pace. I have a lot of experience with Spanish food, and this did not disappoint- was gorgeous! We ordered grilllef king prawns and they, and the garlic olive oil, were perfect- fresh, perfectly cooked. The tortilla was made to order and fab, little runny so ask fully cooked if that isn’t for you. Oddly- the patatas Bravas was the best I ever had- Smokey, potatoes goodness! Grilled artichokes were heaven- and then I finished with goat ice cream which I am still craving. Great wine and beer selection, great vibe. Loved it!

Magnífica cocina de Ada encantada todo muy rico Our experience at Barrafina was absolutely exceptional. The service was exquisite throughout. The cooking by Adalgisa, Ángel, and Hendrick was simply wonderful – every dish was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The prawns were especially delicious. A big thank you to Dani and Victorino for their splendid and attentive service. They made us feel incredibly welcomed and well taken care of. Highly recommended!

I've been here over a dozen times and it never disappoints. Top-tier food, service and atmosphere. Not on the cheap side at all, but worth it for the overall experience. The specials are always incredible too.

The Barrafina is literally one of the best Restaurants in London. The food was to die for and the service was so great. Our waitress did a little mistake by giving us the wrong dish but she handled that situation so well. The location is great and the vibe of the restaurant is so cozy and comfortable yet chic. Yea some dishes are quite expensive especially the tomato bread BUT the taste of everything makes you forget the price.
