The positives:
Specatular views and gorgeous location.
Lively, lovely ambiance.
Omg, my Grilled Ribeye sandwich was the best, oozing with mozzarella, meaty umami mushrooms, grilled onions, garlic, and perfectly crunchy French bread! Perfectly balanced and satisfying. I brought half of it home and enjoyed it the next day.
Basil lemonade was so refreshing and not too sweet.
The negatives:
The bacon in my husband's cheeseburger was hard and overcooked. We prefer a little chew to bacon, not so dry and crumbly. The beef tasted high quality but bland. The bun and fresh toppings were good though. But he didn't finish it and that rarely happens.
Garlic Parmesan Fries were hard and stale. The parmesan added nice flavor but needed more garlic.
I sampled a small piece of my son's chicken from his flatbread sandwich. It was also underseasoned. He said the flavor was mostly from the spicy sauce (chili aoili), which I didn't want again (tried earlier with an appetizer).
My brother and his friend had Oyster Shooters and made funny, shocked faces, since there was so much vodka, more than a shot. They said they expected more flavors, like cocktail sauce, horseradish, or anything else to balance it.
Too much batter on the overcooked calamari appetizer. We expected tender chewiness inside and lightly crispy batter outside, but it was mostly crunchy.
We had to ask and remind our server three times to refill my husband's Diet Coke. He (the server) was hustling though. It was busy, and he had the alcoholic drinks coming out fast and furious. He apologized and we appreciate that.
Neutral/nothing to get excited about:
Roasted brussel sprouts were good with chili aoili. A little too spicy for me though.
Flatbread pizza was ok with peaches, arugula, and balsamic glaze. The bacon surprisingly didn't taste like bacon, just little cubes of unsalted fat. Strange.
I'd rate it more like 3.4 stars. Spinnaker down the road far exceeds this place. As you may already know, you're paying high prices for the location and specatular views.
