Best Parties, Spreads, and Eats in the San Francisco Bay Area for Super Bowl Sunday 2024 | Eater SF

"When scouting for pre-game plans in Sausalito I’d check out Barrel House Tavern, which was awarded best soup in 2023 for a spiced coconut butternut squash soup topped with toasted pepitas, Calabrian chile oil, and microgreens, and the town is hosting a “Souper Bowl 2024” event that could point you to places to return to on Sunday." - Paolo Bicchieri

UPDATE: I was able to speak with one of the AGM‘s at this location. They will get back to me on how to coordinate about rectifying this and I am beyond grateful he was very kind and listened to what I had to say. Final update: I don’t believe a few words can truly express how much I have to say about this restaurant. Last night, I felt genuine warmth and care from the entire team especially when we were approached by Atilla and Lance. They were so apologetic for our past experience, and I sincerely appreciate them for taking the time to listen and understand where we were coming from. Atilla, it was wonderful seeing you again! We first met on our very first visit, and you’ve been just as kind and professional as ever. Lance, we’re also so glad you remembered our family! I always see you walking around, checking in with guests and staff your attentiveness shows in every detail. Thank you for keeping communication open and making sure everything went perfectly. Lance treated us to a caviar bump, what a unique and fun experience! The caviar was fresh and delicious, and the sake paired beautifully. A huge thank you to Arnulfo, who was kind, attentive, thoughtful and such a great singer! He surprised my daughter by singing her happy birthday, and Lance joined in too. It meant so much that they took the time on such a busy night. My daughter was shy but absolutely thrilled, she talked about it the whole way home and said how special it made her feel, especially seeing her favorite waitress, Taylor… Taylor, thank you for asking my daughter if it was okay to give her a hug, that level of thoughtfulness really touched us. Now, the food, where do I even begin? For appetizers, we had the Three-Tier Seafood Tower, which was absolutely top tier. It included fresh clams, oysters, ceviche, taro chips, caviar, shrimp, and lobster tail. Everything was fresh and perfectly prepared, we couldn’t get enough! Even my daughter, who isn’t the biggest seafood fan, dug in and loved the shrimp. It was a true highlight of the meal. The burgers were cooked perfectly medium rare, juicy, flavorful, and delicious. The fries were fresh, crisp, and seasoned perfectly. My steak was incredible! cooked exactly to my liking, tender, and full of flavor. Huge thanks to the kitchen staff and chef for the care they put into every dish. For dessert, we had the Butterscotch Bread Pudding, Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream, and an Espresso Martini. I don’t even have much of a sweet tooth, but everything was outstanding! The bread pudding was warm, rich, and melted in every bite, absolutely divine. Hands down, we had a phenomenal time. Thank you all for reminding us why we continuously choose this restaurant for dinner. The service was top tier Last night, I truly felt like family. Atilla, Lance, Arnulfo, and Taylor, thank you again for your kindness, attentiveness, and care. It was a night to remember, and we look forward to many more visits.

I recently dined at The Barrel House Restaurant and unfortunately left feeling underwhelmed. While I had hopes for a pleasant experience, the reality fell short in several key areas. The Food The most significant letdown was the cuisine itself. The dishes we ordered were disappointingly bland and lacked any real depth of flavor. Whether it was underseasoning or just uninspired preparation, nothing on our table had that memorable quality you hope for when dining out. For a restaurant, having flavorless food is unfortunately a critical miss. The Service On a more positive note, the service was acceptable. Our server was attentive enough and the staff handled their duties professionally. It wasn’t exceptional by any means, but it was competent and got the job done without any major issues. Final Thoughts Given the lackluster food quality, I can’t in good conscience recommend The Barrel Restaurant. While the service was passable, dining out is primarily about the food experience, and that’s where this establishment fundamentally misses the mark. There are simply too many other options available that offer better flavor and value for your money. Unless significant improvements are made to the kitchen.

We had a great time at the Barrel House Tavern. Oysters Florentine was great, the mini tacos were just perfectly sized. The place is busy so a tad noisy but a great place if you want water views. And bonus, you could see the Blue Angels' performance on the horizon.

Google
We visited Sausalito on a day trip from San Francisco and stopped here for lunch. So glad we did! I ordered the crab cakes while my husband went for a burger and fries, and everything was delicious. Arriving early at 11 AM was perfect since the place filled up quickly, likely with the ferry crowds. We scored outdoor seating with incredible views of San Francisco Bay, and to top it off, our server surprised me with complimentary ice cream and candle for my birthday! Wonderful hospitality and highly recommended!

Google
First time dining at the Barrel House Tavern and I must say that the food is very tasty (for me), service was really good (kudos to the staff! 😄), and ambiance is very lovely. I would definitely go back here.

Google
Ambience and view was amazingly great.. food was really delectable, we enjoyed every bite of it. The waiter was very nice, friendly... you can really enjoy dining here. They didn't rush us so we were able to really enjoy each other's company and savor the food

Google
The most gorgeous views and the most splendid plating. And the most oyster tasting oysters helping me ascertain the fact that I hate raw oysters. Would recommend Barrel House Tavern. Good times in saucy Sausalito ✨

Yelp
My Wife and I have been coming to BarrelHouse for a few years now, and it's one of our favorite restaurants in the Bay Area! The Food is amazing! Customer service 5 Star, warm and genuine staff. The ambiance is the cherry on top with waterfront views comfy vibes and great music. Great for dates and family gathering. Special thanks to Lance and Taylor for another night of great service!

Yelp
We come here often and love it. Great view. Very good food and drinks. Very friendly and professional staff. We prefer to dine in the back deck. The only think that is not great is that the lighting is way to bright on the tables and dining bar in the deck. We try to find a corner where the lights don't blind you.

Yelp
Aleena was fantastic. Great house wine and oysters. The view is amazing even in the fog.

Yelp
Date night - great service, food, drinks and view. Couldn't ask for a better date night spot in Sausalito. We decided to venture out of the city and came across this restaurant. They immediately sat us down and gave us a great table overlooking the beautiful SF city skyline. We ordered the Calamari, Butter Lettuce Salad and Chefs special lamb. And ended with a chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and a Carajillo 43.

Yelp
Solid 4 Star Experience! Definitely recommend! The star of the show is the staff. They work really hard and were able to accommodate us earlier than our reservation. Service was quick and they had some good recommendations. The food is also pretty good. We had the burrata, lamb from the specials menu (definitely try this - it was tender and tasty), seafood tower, caviar bump, bread pudding - all things I would eat again. The location of this restaurant is perfect. We were able to watch sunset from our table, something that will never get old. The restaurant is bustling and has elevated noise levels but the food will make you forget about it.

Yelp
I came here for lunch with a friend and we were able to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view. We shared a vegetarian flatbread and the crispy panko snapper ciabatta bread sandwich. The only hiccup is we asked for regular fries on the side and they brought sweet potato fries instead and seemed skeptical when we mentioned what we had ordered, which was a bit odd but they did bring out the regular fries. I also got a fun mocktail while my friend got the watermelon margarita. Overall, I would absolutely come back when in the area!

Yelp
First time here while visiting Sausalito. Great views right on the water with limited outdoor seating upstairs. Happy Hour from 12-6 PM on select items such as 6 local oysters for $12. Service was friendly. Clam chowder - $23 for a bowl. It was interesting because it's not the typical thick broth of a New England style chowder with crackers. It was a thin, runny broth with entire clam shell in the soup.
google avatar

Quin B.

Yelp
Amazing. I loved sitting outside. I saw birds and sea otters and dolphins. It was magical eating my fish sandwich and ginger margarita mocktail. Absolutely divine. Officially a favorite spot of mine now.
google avatar

Adrienne O.

Yelp
The food is solid, the service is warm and friendly, the view is EXCELLENT! The drinks are delicious and we come here for their chowder in particular. It's original, fresh and yummy. The drinks perfectly complement the view, and of course you end up paying a premium for such a view but it's worth it to us. We come here every time we visit Saulsilito. Enjoy!

Yelp
If I could give this restaurant 10 stars, I would! Visited the city for a birthday and stumbled across this spot. If anyone asks me for a dinner recommendation in SF, there's no doubt that I would point to Barrel House. Starting with starters, we got the shishito peppers and oven flatbread. The shishitos peppers weren't too spicy (as someone who is not a spicy person), and the flatbread was so unique between the pears and walnuts, the flavors blended together beautifully! Onto the main course, our server Arnulfo mentioned their sandwiches were very good so we decided on both the steak & snapper and ate half each. The lime pickled onions on the crispy snapper sandwich added a perfect amount of tang, I think the only thing that could make it better was a sauce for some extra moisture but still delicious. The steak sandwich was delicious, and being pregnant I appreciated that the meat was cooked well done yet it was still very soft. Last but certainly not least... dessert! We got the crème brûlée (my guilty pleasure) & the butterscotch bread pudding. The crème brûlée was classic & the butterscotch bread pudding was one of a kind! You cannot go wrong with either! Thank you Arnulfo & Barrel House for a wonderful & tasty birthday celebration dinner!

Yelp
The food was amazing. We had the clam chowder, and it was totally different from the usual thick ones you find in Seattle or around here. This one was more brothy and soupy, which really let the clam flavor shine through. The charred guanciale added a great smoky touch, and the mix of small and large clams made it fun to eat. The oysters were decent. We also tried the swordfish and the chef's special scallops--both were super fresh and cooked just right. Really solid dishes. I gave this place 5 stars mainly because of the view and the service. Honestly, it might be the best view in Sausalito. From our table, we could see Angel Island, the city skyline, the pier, and even the Bay Bridge. It was such a great experience overall. Our entrées took a little while to come out, but the staff was super attentive and professional, which made up for it.

Yelp
In theory a great place for happy hour, but definitely not the best. The prices here are reasonable--$8 for wine and beers, $10 for cocktail of the day, and $2 oysters. The flatbreads were $14, but were pretty disappointing. The views are nice, but realize that the happy hour does not cover this area and you're put in the back. The service was reasonable, but the food was very mediocre even if the prices were fair. Would consider coming back but only for the drinks.

Yelp
Celebrated the 4th in Sausalito this year and luckily got a reservation at barrel house tavern. Great location right on the water. The food was good, everything tasted great and I have no complaints. Wasn't blown away by anything but had a solid meal. The service was a little slow, but thats to be expected on a holiday. Other than that, had a great time with amazing views of the bay. Food: 4/5 Service: 3.5 Ambiance: 5/5 Marcels foodie score: 4.1/5

Yelp
Loved everything about this place from the food to the service to the vibesssss!! We got seated right away at a table right next to the water and were greeted fairly quickly. We ended up ordering the calamari, steak sandwich, and pizza for my daughter and we all loved everything! My mom and I split the sandwich and they automatically plated everything separate for us which was a very thoughtful touch. 10/10 would come back again!!

Yelp
Happening, hip, fun place with a lovely view of the water. We sat inside but outside would be amazing when it's warmer! Started with a Hibiscus Collins cocktail, light and refreshing. The manager checked on us plus our server was great! The Caribbean shrimp Risotto was delicious. The shrimp has the best taste and the mushrooms in the risotto makes it! Excellent!

Yelp
Stopped in here for a quick bite while enjoying the outstanding view of Sausalito. The prices were as high as you might expect, but the food was great and the service was excellent. So if you wanna beautiful view and a delicious bite to eat, I highly recommend them. Watch out for the birds on the porch though.

Yelp
Perfect spot for great food, strong drinks and beautiful views of the bay! Went for my friend's birthday on a gorgeous Saturday and it was packed- good thing we had reservations. Service was overall ok although we had to remind the server about our truffle Parmesan fries. The fries, fried calamari/shrimp and cheesy garlic bread were tasty! My pomegranate mojito was refreshing and strong. Next time I'll try more mains from the menu (short rib looked fab) - we had mainly gone here for snacks and drinks after eating at Sushi Ran and Lappert's ice cream. Great place for large groups and there's paid street parking in the neighborhood and an outdoor lot a short walk from downtown.

Yelp
Stopped by on Monday to eat a late lunch. We requested to sit outside and be near the water views, however happy hour would not be offered (which is disappointing). If HH was allowed we would have ordered their oysters to try. Their menu is not too overwhelming and I was looking at their salads. I ended up sharing the prime ribeye steak sandwhich with my cousin and got garlic fries along with it. The meat is not dry but the sandwhich is big enough for 2 people to share. Definitely could not have finished it myself! Their garlic fries are on point though, cheesy enough. As for the calamari fritts, these were well battered. I have never had fried lemons and I tried it, not bad! For the price of $29, it is on the higher side. Service was attentive and prompt. Be prepared to spend money here as the total bill with tip was about $80.

Yelp
Lovely restaurant with nice views. The snapper sandwich was filling and had the appropriate amount. I do wish the fish filet was a bit thicker as the snapper filet itself was already thin. Nice crunch though. The salad was a bit basic but well flavored. The basil hibiscus lemonade was well flavored as well. It had a good mix of tart and sweet, a refreshing drink to enjoy with the view. Service was prompt and friendly. I do wish the cheap oysters was extended to table dining as well. The happy hour menu wasn't the most extensive for a weekday afternoon dining. Servers will be enthusiastic and asking you if you want dessert, so heads up :)

Yelp
We always love coming to Sausalito and the Barrel House Tavern has always been a fan favorite of ours. Every time we come, we always get the seafood dishes and we are never disappointed, it's so good! Our servers were absolutely amazing and are always welcoming us back. We had a discount code that we weren't too sure how to navigate but they really helped us out with it. They were very reassuring and informative about their menu as well. The presentation and ambiance is always an added plus, I always see a lot of the parties happy and enjoying their meals. I highly recommend for anybody to come here to at least try to the seafood once. We also got the Gilroy Garlic Fries and as somebody who grew up in the Garlic Capital, I give it a 10/10! Always love coming to the Barrel House Tavern when we're in Sausalito, and you definitely can't beat the view of San Francisco!

Yelp
Food 4/5 We were in the area and craving clam chowder. The presentation looked great, and it definitely had a unique twist, but it just wasn't to our taste. It's quite different from the traditional creamy clam chowder, more watery, with a stronger fishy flavor. Just something to keep in mind if you're expecting the classic version. We happened to visit during happy hour and tried the burger sliders and fish tacos. The sliders were surprisingly good, probably our favorite item. The tacos were decent as well. Overall, a mixed experience, but happy hour made it worthwhile. Customer Service 4/5 The place was pretty busy, and the service was okay. Ambience 5/5 The restaurant's location was beautiful and definitely caught our eye at first. Inside, the space was also very inviting, with both a bar area and a regular dining section. Cleanliness 5/5 It seemed pretty clean, though the small space felt crowded. We also sat at the bar, which might have made a difference in how it felt. Wait Time 4/5 The wait time was decent, but it was a bit hard to get the staff's attention. Cost 4/5 The clam chowder was a bit on the pricier side. However, I found the happy hour menu to be fairly reasonable. There were quite a few "big plates" priced around $20. The portions were average, not huge, but appropriate for the restaurant's location, which made the prices feel more accessible. Drinks 5/5 They offered happy hour drinks--I had a glass of wine and really enjoyed it.

Yelp
The food was flavorful. The servers were very attentive. We decided to sit outside. The view was amazing. It was chilly that evening and the heaters made it perfect.

Yelp
Barrelhouse is a must if you are in Sausalito! The view is incredible and the quality of food is exceptional. The drinks did not disappoint and I will be back for sure.
google avatar

Renee L.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped by for a quick drink from their happy hour. We ordered some baby guinness and a margarita. Our bartender was friendly and very accommodating. For the happy hour, you have to be seated by the bar. This restaurant has amazing views. We didn't get the chance to try their food but maybe in our next visit.

Yelp
Happy Hour in Sausalito and the Barrel House Tavern is the place to go! We came here pretty late close to closing which is 9pm with a large group of about 10 after an event nearby. They were busy but the bar area was nice and had a great view looking out. It took them a second to clean up the area but they got to take our orders and we should have asked to separate it by table. We didn't order any drinks but we just wanted some food, people in my group ordered their oysters, sausage pizza, sliders, ceviche (really lite), I got the buffalo chicken wings that came with 6, and someone else got a flat bread. I think everyone enjoyed and devoured their food while the others also just chilled and socialized. It's very nice inside and you feel like you're in a barrel overlooking the water. Parking can be be a bit difficult in this area, there's metered and 2 hour street parking until 6pm and 8pm in some areas. There are also some parking lots nearby. A nice place to check out if you're in the area, might be a lot of tourists too.

Yelp
Five stars for Carla! Amazing server - she's super attentive, kind, and has great energy. If management is reading this, please give her a raise. Superb service! Ambiance is beautiful. Definitely make a reservation so you get a good chance to sit outside. Food is good. Drinks are a hit or miss. Absolutely loved my espresso martini but strongly disliked my lychee martini Overall, I'd come here again and stick with the classics

Yelp
Came here with my boyfriend for our anniversary. The interior was nice and cozy, and we got a corner seat with a view of the bay which was really nice. Our server was friendly too. We were looking forward to ordering from the happy hour menu but didn't know we had to sit at the bar for that. There's both street parking and a parking lot available, but neither are free. For our anniversary, our server gave us complimentary champagne to pair with our oysters and ceviche, which came with taro chips, so good. I also ordered a glass of Chardonnay. For my entree, I got the chimichurri steak, medium, and it came with an arugula salad. The flavor was good, but I was a little disappointed the steak looked more well-done than medium. My boyfriend got the jumbo sea scallops with risotto and it was delicious. Highly recommend trying that. The ceviche came with scallops and shrimp and had a nice kick to it. We also got a half dozen oysters which were super fresh and they gave us three different kinds, two of each. For dessert, we shared an affogato with biscotti. Simple but really good. Overall, this place is decent and a nice spot if you're looking for good vibes, fancy dining, and a nice view.

Yelp
I found this place on a whim! I got the rissotto, cheese garlic bread, and fries. I told the waiter that we were going to split the rissotto and he made it into two seprate plates which was veey nice of him! It was flavourful and very filling. The fries were good and the garlic bread was really good as well. We sat by the ocean in the outside tables and it was such a nice view. The food came out quick and there are plenty of seating. I went on a saturday afternoon and didnt need a reservation at all. They asked if it was my birthday and brought me ice cream!

Yelp
Bar service and specials were on point. Great attentive service and even had a margarita special on Saturday night at the bar.

Edie N.

Yelp
Most of the time I'd rather not leave a review than give a bad one but our experience was absolutely disappointing that I decided to give one today. Let me start out by saying I understand LDW is an insanely busy time for a lot of restaurants and businesses so I am mindful of that but it's no excuse to treat your customers with disrespect and hostility no matter how busy you are. If the volume of customers exceeds the capabilities of your staff, please make adjustments so paying customers don't have a negative experience. So, on 8/30 we made a same day reservation on Open Table which showed plenty of open times. We chose 3 pm to hopefully skip the lunch rush. After waiting in line for a short 10 mins we made it to the hostess stand (people were quickly turned away and left which should have been our first clue). The hostess asked if we had a reservation and I told her yes. She couldn't find us on her screen and very aggressively turned it around for me to see and said "see you're not on here" in a very rude way with no attempt to look into it any further. I showed her our reservation on Open Table and she asked when we made it. I told her this morning and she replies, "well that's your problem, you made it today. Our system doesn't cross over." Still, with no attempt to accommodate us (we drove AN HOUR AND A HALF to get here). She proceeds to look past us to the next guests in line to kind of push us out of the way and before leaving the line I asked her what she could do and she again replies, "Well we didn't prepare you a table, sooo...." AGAIN with the same hostile, unwelcoming attitude - no attempt whatsoever to help us despite us having a reservation. **I do want to note that their reservation policy on Open Table charges you $15 a person to no show so it was shocking to be treated this way when we showed up**. After a few back and forth and trying to explain to her that it's not our fault that their system allowed us to make a reservation she annoyingly shoo's us to the side and said she'd take care of it. We waited another 30 mins for a table. Eventually another girl comes to help at the desk and Teresa (the hostess) turns her back towards us and you can tell was saying something about us before seating us. It was probably the crappiest feeling but we were committed to eating there after driving so far. We had a very kind server named Christian but you can tell he was very tired. He kept forgetting things but did apologize for forgetting the few things we asked for. He just seemed burnt out/over worked so we felt bad but didn't help the already bad experience we were having there. He recommended the oysters, calamari, fried chicken sandwich and streak skirt sandwich. We ordered everything he recommended. The oysters and calamari were decent but nothing that you'd rave about just passing. The fried chicken sandwich came out initially looking promising but was indeed VERY dry. I asked for extra spicy aioli sauce to see if it'll help but it was a pretty awful sandwich. I thought if I opened it up and just ate the protein I could at least not waste it but when I opened it up it was so dry it just crumbled into pieces. My boyfriend's steak sandwich was decent but for the price there wasn't enough steak. It was like they were cutting corners this weekend. The best part about the whole meal was without a doubt the fries. That was the best thing they did. For a bill to be almost $300 (with drinks) you'd expect more but they just didn't have the proper staff and quality of food to really justify it. This is a glorified bar on the water. The best thing about this restaurant is the location and views so I'd say come for drinks and their happy hour but it's not a place I'd come to eat. It's just bar food with elevated plating. I would not recommend this place during a busy holiday. I'm sure they do better when it's slower but they just could not keep up with the holiday crowd. Very disappointing and a waste of $300 and our time.

Yelp
Great service from bartender! Had a great time at the bar. Love the Barrel design! We'll try the food next time!

Yelp
Ate an early dinner here on our day trip to Sausalito. I got the tavern burger with sweet potato fries, my husband the short rib, both were very good. I tried the espresso martini, which I enjoyed. The view was amazing, and the service was great as well. Just a note on the dog policy: the outdoor patio is fairly small they do allow dogs but have several fairly strict rules about bringing them: they must stay under the table, not bark, and they don't want them to be eating or drinking there. Weird, but since our dog is fairly well behaved it wasn't an issue.

Yelp
This was my second visit to Barrel House, and I've loved it each time. I like to sit outside because the views are just magical. You can see SF, Oakland, Alcatraz, Angel Island, etc., right from your seat. It's just an incredible way to enjoy a meal and drinks. The Strawberry Margerita is delicious here. I've tried the ginger one as well. While I enjoyed it, it may taste a bit medicinal if you're not a huge fan of ginger. Also tried the Mt Tam Pale Ale and it was very good. I like the bitterness of a Pale Ale, and this did not disappoint. Good flavor and aroma. If you're feeling extra giddy, get an Oyster Shooter. Good for the wang, or so I've been told. Tried the Snapper Sandwich and it's an absolute winner. Plenty of fish, cooked perfectly, with veggies and bread with the perfect crunch. Garlic fries were good enough, but pale in comparison to the sandwich. Brussels are nice appetizer along with the calamari and shrimp fritti. Both these items are good as well. It's beautiful inside as well, but I just really enjoy the outside, so it's large part of my 5-star. Additionally, I wanted to say that our server, Braiden, was fun and attentive as well.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this place as it had a beautiful view and good reviews on yelp. However, experience was subpar. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the view However, a few things were quite underwhelming 1. Happy hour only is valid at the bar, but we were not told nor is it listed anywhere until we sat down outside so my aim of taking advantage of the happy hour was not fulfilled 2. The Panko snapper sandwich was flavorless. They did split it for us without us asking, which was a nice touch, but the sandwich was underwhelming. 3. Overall, pricey, I guess the view is what people pay for. 4.. Our 19-year-old waiter couldn't bother to take pictures with both hands and so even though he took photos for us. They were awful. The service and the food just didn't quite live up to the prices and the good reviews. A disappointing anniversary lunch.

Yelp
Came here for 2 people on Saturday around noon. Seated instantly with a semi view of the water. Attentive wait staff. Ordered the ceviche and linguini clam pasta. Both were AMAZING, but the ceviche blew us away. So fresh and delicious. We split these between the two of us. Ordered a lemonade as well but it mostly tasted of the hibiscus syrup, and not of lemonade. The bill came out to $90 which is steep considering we only shared an appetizer, a pasta and one non alcoholic drink. Minus one star for that, but we'll be back anyways since it was delicious!

Yelp
Came here for my partners birthday thinking it would be a pleasant experience, but it was hardly that. First, our server took an extended period of time to even take our order and was not personable. My drink came back with a bug in it. He then brought me another drink but had no courtesy to take it off the bill or provide a proper apology. Our food was extremely mediocre. We ordered an $18 salad that looked wilted, old and premade with zero protein. Protein would've been an extra $10! The Ahi tacos were decent but lacked depth and flavor. The mushroom ravioli might have been the most decent dish we got. It was my wife's birthday and I told the hostess in the front about it and she told me "tell your server". At that point it seemed like their system was so disorganized I did not even bring it up to my server. I wasted a lot of money eating at a poor place like this. Will not be back and will not be recommending this to anyone.

Yelp
we got the oysters and salmon cakes and the cosmo drink. the raw oysters were so delicious, a little on the small side in my opinion. but I love raw oysters. the salmon cakes were so good, u can really taste the salmon in these and the salad on the side went well with it. the view was gorgeous, sitting right at sunset and u can see the sf pier across the ocean. the outdoor seating is like a bar area seating. cute photo op area

Yelp
Spent an afternoon in Sausalito with my mini me and her baby girl and we came here to have a meal after a beautiful walk around town. We walked in, headed upstairs and was immediately greeted warmly and taken to our table with a gorgeous view of the water. Our server was quick to come and explain the menu and take our drink orders. I got the bees knees (I think that's what it was called!) and it was so good!! I would come back for that drink alone. Mini me and decided to split the steak sandwich with fries and the calamari and shrimp plate and we got rh kids pizza for the baby girl. Our food came quickly and hot. Everything was delicious. I appreciated that the split our steak plate on separate plates without even being asked. We were both impressed and the pizza that was more than enough for a kid and it was good too my mini me says. We not want to come back and try more of the menu next time in town. We had a great time here.

Yelp
It has become a tradition whenever we visit San Francisco, we make a point of dining at the Barrel House in Sausalito. Reservations are a must as this place fills up fast. We never know what the weather will be like, so we don't request patio seating, but hope it is available when we arrive. This time, Max was nice enough to show us to a table on the patio, but unfortunately it was too hot of a day for us and we felt like we would be uncomfortable baking in the sun. So, he accommodated us and let us select another table inside with an equally nice view. Although it was busy with late-lunch service and a large party seated in the middle of the restaurant, Max took exceptional care of us! I started with the frosty margarita which was so refreshing on a warm day. We shared the crab cakes, which were crispy on the outside and full of delicious crabmeat on the inside. As my main, I had the salmon and believe this was the best piece of salmon I have ever had. It melted in my mouth and was so flavorful. I also loved that it was accompanied by couscous, butternut squash, cauliflower, and micro greens with just a touch of tarragon cream sauce that blended well and did not overpower the dish. The flavor profile was outstanding! My husband ordered the beef burger with a side of garlic parmesan fries and was equally impressed with the quality and cook of the burger as well as the crispy, delicious fries. We can't say enough good things about this Sausalito gem! The architecture and decor, service and food are unparalleled. We can't wait to visit again this Summer!

Yelp
We wanted to make a stop for drinks this afternoon after seeing the Golden Gate bridge. Barrel House is in a great location, and we got there right at happy hour time. They had a great Kolsch beer on their menu, so we sat back on the street side in the bar. The service was great and the design of the place is unique. Next time, I would want to sit out on the rail and have a full meal.

Yelp
We came here on July 4th to celebrate a friend's brithday. We had a large group so we made sure to book in advance. However on the day of there were some issues. The restaurant made a mistake with our reservation so we had to wait an extra 20 minutes. During that time, we walked around the restaurant which is really lovely and bright. The views of the Bay are gorgeous! Once we were seated, we all got Drinks and food. However it took about 30ish minutes before any of it arrived. Which was unfortunate for us since we were all famished, but the wait was worth it. I had a Cheeseburger with Parm fries, and the burger was juicy and really hit the spot. The Parm fries smelled amazing, and it was the perfect amount. I also had a cocktail, the Island Coffee, and it felt like a drink straight from a tiki bar. Quite delicious, and a bit sweeter than an expresso martini. At the end of the meal the servers brought out an ice cream for my friend. Overall we had a pretty good experience!

Yelp
Came for the views and amazing outdoor seating! Come early for the outdoor table seating but there isn't much shade so bring a hat if you don't want to tan. Their burger is A+! Tasted so high quality and premium. Clam chowder & lobster dip were average to me. Drinks were very strong but the hibiscus lemonade was refreshing.

Yelp
We enjoyed the dining exspence. Good food ' good service ' and good ambiance. My sister was visiting me in the bay area in over 35 years. I took her to Barrel House. We were able to get seats for three on the balcony.

Yelp
Love coming to Barrel House for an afternoon drink and some apps! If you can definitely take a seat outside on the patio, unparalleled views of the city while you enjoy your time. The staff is always great and helpful when deciding what to get. They also have a solid happy hour with some deals on both food and drinks.

Yelp
Came here for the first time for our anniversary. It's not in the photo but we also ordered tuna tacos. The service was good but the food wasn't great so you're mostly paying for the nice view.
