Copita is undoubtedly one of the best tapas restaurants in London. I’ve visited several times over the past few years, and the quality has been consistently impressive. The cuisine is largely inspired by Basque traditions from northern Spain. Standout dishes for me include the boquerones, beautifully seared scallops, and the ox cheeks perfectly cooked and served with a vegetable purée and a parsley-based sauce that brought everything together wonderfully.
Dessert deserves a special mention: the San Sebastián cheesecake, made using the owner’s closely guarded recipe and served with a light, low-sugar cranberry sauce, was outstanding—rich yet balanced, and not overly sweet.
I paired most of the dishes with Spanish sherries such as Manzanilla Fino, Oloroso, and Amoroso, all personal favourites from southern Spain. Copita is a place I would confidently recommend to anyone looking to enjoy excellent Spanish food with outstanding value.
