BEWARE OF THIS RESTAURANT- VENUE OWNER
I have been an event producer for over 20+ years. I've worked with difficult clients and venues before... So, I wasn't going to worry about sharing this mentally, exhaustive experience. I was just going to let karma do her thing. But the feedback from the other vendors and the client warranted my sharing our experience. My client was looking for an intimate venue for about 30- 40 people. This event was planned approximately 6 weeks before the event. Most venues didn't have the availability/amenities we needed because it was prom, festival, and graduation season. This should have been a simple event to plan. It wasn't difficult to plan because the client was difficult or because the client didn't have a respectable budget. It was because of the venue/restaurant manager - "Owner". The restaurant I am referencing is The Barrilleaux Restaurant (formerly the Burgundy house). The Barrilleaux Restaurant (formerly the Burgundy house), The Capital on Barrone and Unique Weddings in New Orleans are managed by Brittani Adams Perret. The entire experience with Brittani was arduous, unprofessional, exhausting, and resulted in a confrontational heated- exchange at the end of the night. The menu was basic banquet, cafeteria food. The service was poor. And the venue was extremely hot. Guests were hot and sweating all night. At times it was so hot and unbearable that guest didn't want to drink liquor and dance. Brittani's assistant shrugged his shoulders when he was told about the restaurant being hot. Basically, it could have been a Covid super spreader. She screamed in the face of the drummer with the 2nd line band and told them they were too loud. She screamed that she was going to shut it down! I was able to calm the band down. The crazy part is that we had a live band all night.
Brittani was not vendor friendly and did not care about the client experience. If you use her venues your vendors will have to submit their liability insurance. This is not common practice at most restaurants in New Orleans. This was extremely stressful because many gig workers can't afford liability insurance. This was not disclosed prior to signing of the contract. Britani asked for this two weeks before the party. This is directly from her contract to my client. "9. Insurance. All vendors and service providers retained by the Patron must furnish a certificate of insurance indicating Statutory Workers Compensation Coverage as well as Commercial Liability Insurance with a limit of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) per occurrence. All Vendors are to name PERRET, ADAMS and KYMEN CONSULTING LLC - 303 Severn Ave Metairie, LA 70001 as additional insured on their policy."
In addition, your vendors will have to sign a vendor agreement with RULES. Some of the vendors refused to sign the agreement or provide insurance.... LONNNNG STORY...Save yourself, save your pockets and your vendors from the headache. There are BETTER 4 -5-star restaurants in NOLA that are professional and provide a better experience. This is not one of them.
At the end of the night, she ran up in my face and threated me. She even followed me out of the restaurant. The guest of honor had to scream at her and other people intervened. This was the most unprofessional restaurant experience ever.
You draw your own conclusions. You have been informed of my experience. Several of the vendors state, including myself, that we will never patronize any business that Brittani Adams Perret is associated with.
