Google
the shop itself is beautiful!! i love the attention to detail they put into the donuts and the box the donuts come in. unfortunately they weren’t to die for but they were okay! they’re very fluffy and light which i love, but it also felt in a way something was missing. the sweetest from the frosting was a perfect touch to help the donut out, but for $15 for 4 it wasn’t really the smartest financial decision. i would say give it a try if you’re in the area, support local shops!

Google
Fancy donuts with a Mexican twist. Guava filling, Mexican chocolate etc. They also have tamales and tortas. The cold brew coffee was smooth but had way too much cinnamon for me. Service was super fast.

Super cute!! Amazing service!! Has delicious vegan donuts and horchata

Google
All my helpers they like it, good flavors, delicious tortas and donas

Google
My daughter and I grabbed breakfast here recently. We had the Buenos Dias breakfast sandwich and coconut horchata. Both were really delicious. I also had a mango-filled donut, which was also very good.

Google
Omg these donuts are SO good! I went at 1 pm on a Friday and they still had a decent selection available. The yeast donuts are so soft and fluffy, and still tasted fresh. I like that the glaze and toppings aren’t very sweet either— very lightly sweet, so they’re not too heavy. I got the chocolate abuelita, the cocada (coconut), and one with light dulce de leche and pecans. They were all great!

Google
Hands down one of the best donut shops in San Diego. I have never been to a donut shop and ordered a dozen donuts and each one of them tasted above average. Honestly, I was a little blown away because I wasn’t expecting such quality donuts. They are a good size donut, FRESH, perfect amount of filling in the jelly donuts, not overly sweet, and decently priced ($33/12= $2.75 each). My favorites were the Gansito, guayaba, chocolate abuelita, and carlota di limon. I can’t wait to go back and try the other Mexican specialty ones like the horchata, arroz con leche, cajeta, and mazipan. For those who give one star reviews because you went at 1:30 PM in the afternoon to get donuts, that is your own problem. You can’t expect to go to a donut shop after lunchtime and have an entire selection of donuts. The best time to go to a donut shop for the best selection is about 30 minutes after opening. Thank you Barrio Donas for the amazing treats. I’m so glad you’re opening a National City location. Fourth location should be Chula Vista! 😜

Google
The best tortas ever. Been eating here for years. I love the Cubana. It's got everything I like. Ham, egg, cheese, spice, It's really good. They also have specialty donuts,🍩. The gals are always very friendly, just a great neighborhood eatery.

Yelp
Date of Visit: 6.15.2025 Cuisine Type: Donut shop Vibe: Clean, chill, modern cafesque space Cost: ~$8-$15 per person depending on how much you order What I Ordered & How It Was: Most of the donuts has similar raised dough texture. They are fluffy with bit of bounce after the bite (very welcomed and surprising) Chocolate Abuelita (Hot Chocolate Glaze/ Chocolate Buttercream/Dark Chocolate Curls and tiny marshmallows) - 4/5 - The chocolate is very noticeable here... $3.75. Choco Mazapan (Peanut Butter Glaze/Mazapan Crumble/Chocolate Drizzle) - Mazapan is a peanut candy similar sounding to its sister marzipan which is an almond candy. - 4.5/5 - I liked the differing textures and mixture of peanut and chocolate. This layering of flavors gives a crunch as well as two unique flavors that naturally work well together. Gansito (Basically old fashioned in a bar form) - 5/5 - It is an old fashioned donut in bar form (I love old fashioned...so maybe biased). The dough is different from the other ones it is evenly deep fried on all side. This creates a crispy exterior followed by the cake like interior all covered with melted chocolate. Just the best Tamales (Chicken) - 5/5 - Literally the best tamales i've had in my life. It is NOT DRY! wow it is super tender and basically falls apart. The corn is not dry either it is very saturated with the chicken juice and maybe fat? The who experience of eating the tamales went from disinterest to sharing of such wonders to others (usually this comes out later so you can enjoy your donuts first while you wait) Service & Atmosphere: Service: Very friendly staff. It has modern donut shop vibes. You will still see the display window with all of your options. Just looks very well maintained. Ambiance: When i go here it usually isn't busy, but then it would be off-peak hours. Great space to just hangout and do morning stuff. Overall Thoughts: Best thing I ate: Tamales Something to improve: I am probably just grasping at straws here but i think the donuts dough to sugar ratio can be adjusted a lil bit maybe less dough? Would I come back? See ya next week!

Yelp
For all the lovers of the Cocada donut: IT HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED AND TAKEN OFF THE MENU. super disappointed and unsure why it was removed, since it's such a customer favorite. Was willing drive out 20 mins just to get this, passing by many other national chain and local donut shops on the way here. Guess it's time to go somewhere else, unless it comes back

Yelp
Super impressed by this shop! First time I had a sample was at a Yelp Event so I made sure to come back and try more of their menu items. The shop is cute and small, all you really need. There were a couple of seats in there if you wanted to dine in, but we ordered online and took ours to go. The flavors of their donuts are really unique. It stays true to Mexican Heritage with flavors such as Horchata, Chocolate Abuelita & Arroz Con Leche. We tried the Horchata [$3.00] which was really good & really got the flavor the drink. This was a better option than the normal chocolate glazed [$2.00] I got. It was still good, but I wish the coating of chocolate was a bit thicker. It was pretty think so once that flavor ran out, all you got was the dough. Which let me you was really good dough! Also tried their Egg & Cheese w/Bacon torta [$11.50] which didn't disappoint. Loved every bite! Big enough to share if you're not as hungry. Our order was ready for pick-up so we didn't wait that long & there is plenty of parking in the area. Overall, I'd definitely come back to Barrio Donas to try their other donut flavors as well as their tamales. They were sold out the day we went.

Yelp
Small donut shop in Clairemont Mesa with delicious Mexican inspired sweet treats. The Cafe de olla with Horchata is a must try, you won't regret it. The ladies behind the counter are some of the nicest people you'll ever met and very friendly and welcoming.

Yelp
When I first tried this place I was really taken by the style and the flavors of the donuts. Probably best donuts i've ever had. But the menu has changed a lot. And they don't have a lot of the items, and sadly, my favorite donut no longer exists there, because it's discontinued. Churro was so good! Not quite sure. Why so many of the items have been discontinued. Which also affects online ordering.Because it still shows as if they are available, and then when you get there, you find out that they're not. So now it's very limited items unfortunately. To me, to be honest, some of the items that were taken off should actually be put back on.That was my whole reason for going there. It's just a little disappointing.

Yelp
I've missed my weekly visits here as I no longer work in the area but I had to return for some sweets and cafe de olla. Today their entire section of parking lot was being replaced but that didn't detour the tried and true. I waited in a small line patiently as the worker was taking such great care of the party ahead of me. It was so nice to see the attention and welcome in her voice. I knew my wait would be well deserved. Thanks again for still providing the highest quality of food and customer care. My visit just on service alone 5

Yelp
This place has a cute interior and offers a fun variety of Mexican donut flavors like arroz con leche and Gansito, to name a few. The arroz donut actually had arroz con leche inside, which made it dense but enjoyable. I also tried their café de olla with horchata -- I ordered it with more café de olla than horchata, thinking it would be less sweet but it was still a bit too sweet for my taste. Flavor-wise, though, it was unique and worth trying. The breakfast torta was pretty good -- a bit more bread than filling, but still satisfying overall. The staff was friendly and welcoming. A couple of suggestions: I'd love to see a self-serve water station or at least water cups available. Also, for being the morning, it felt a bit too warm inside during my visit -- the AC didn't seem to be on or strong enough, which took away slightly from the experience as we dined-in. Small detail, their cups (hot and iced) had no logos of the business or stickers on them. Maybe it's just this location bc I noticed the other locations' cups have logos and such. Hubby asked about their stickers bc they had the display stand perched up top but the lady said they had not ordered any more. Shame because we would've bought them! Overall, a creative spot with delicious donuts -- just a few tweaks would make it even better!

Yelp
My boyfriend has been craving donuts for a very long time now and Barrio Donas really hit the spot. I'm not really a fan of donuts but these were honestly really delicious! Came here after a late lunch around 3pm and the donuts were still incredibly fluffy and not stale at all!!! I was SHOOK!!!! If you buy 5 donuts the 6th is half off or free, I don't quite remember. From my favorite to least: Chocolate Abuelita, Horchata, Lemon, Chocolate Sprinkles, Jamaica, Concha with Strawberry Sprinkles. The Chocolate Abuelita was hands down my favorite donut. It was a regular glazed donut with the top dipped in chocolate, covered in mini marshmallows and chocolate chips. The Horchata wasn't as cinnamon-y as I was expecting but it was still decent. The Lemon one was filled, it had a custard inside. Chocolate Sprinkles was a chocolate donut dipped in chocolate, with sprinkles. Although I enjoy Jamaica drinks, I thought this donut was a little too sour (which is pretty odd since I love sour tasting things). Least favorite was the Concha, it was too bread-like and dry compared to the fluffy goodness of the donuts. All in all the donuts were AMAZING!!! I could only imagine the massive selection if I had come in the morning instead of a late afternoon.

Yelp
Stopped in to grab a sweet treat. Sunday around 2:30pm there was no line. The shop is very cute with simple but trendy decor. Their menu had hot breakfast items, coffee, and more. W We came for the donuts. 6 donuts for about $20. You order 6 you get $1.50 off. The donuts were named and inspired by Mexican/Hispanic culture. My favorite was the lemon donut. Followed by the guava. 4 stars because although the name and flavors were fancy, the donuts weren't very basic.

Kate F.

Yelp
The donuts here are perfect for anybody with a sweet tooth! My go-to drink here in the warmer times are always fresa horchatas, and/or the horchata cold brews. The service is always freindly and super quick! There are enough seats for those coming in wuickly, and going to work or etc. The shop itself is very welcoming and clean! Love it here!

Yelp
Was going to Happy Barber on Clairemont Mesa and wanted to eat first. Normally, I'd try to drop by Ee Nami, but it wasn't open at the time. Decided to have a torta instead. If you see Cotixan next to the street, that's the center where this is located. Service was very friendly and fast. There is a beautiful display case of the various donut options. I asked for an opinion of which torta to get and was told to go with the Cubana. It was a good amount of food for the price and tasted fantastic.

Yelp
If you are looking for a soft and fluffy donut, look no further!! I ordered the Horchata glazed and it did not disappoint. They had many unique flavors like Cajeta, Choco Marapan and Guayaba that will keep me coming back. I also ordered the Horchata & Olla iced coffee, and although a little sweet was a nice change!! I also will be back to try the torta. I missed out on their donuts at a yelp event, so I decided to give them a try myself. After reading reviews, I almost changed my mind. But the service was welcoming and patient as I made my choices. They also welcomed all their patrons kindly. I read an article posted on the wall that the new owners took over their father's previous Mexican donut business at this location. They have made great improvements and made it their own.

Yelp
3.5 stars This place has a little bit of everything, They sell tortas, Mexican inspired donuts, as well as coffee. I went for the trifecta and got a bit of everything. A dozen donuts for work, a torta and a cold brew for myself. The Chilanga sorta ($13.75 +$1 for avocado) cam with Milanesa (breaded beef), ham, chorizo, beans, tomato, red onions, and mozzarella cheese. They asked if I wanted chipotle sauce and jalapeños, I said yes and also added avocado for $1. It was a tasty sandwich; light fresh bread, it wasn't too spicy despite the chipotle and jalapeños. I think the chipotle sauce is key. I got the large Moto cold brew ($6.75) and added horchata (free of charge.) It was very smooth, definitely taste the horchata, maybe. a bit too much, I guess I want to taste the coffee more. Still a very good option and an horchata cold brew as advertised. I got a dozen donuts for work you get a little discount if you order in increments of 1/2 dose. I chose all the Mexican inspired flavors, they have normal donuts but I wanted to try what was unique to this place and what I couldn't get at other places. I got the Guava, mango, creama, arroz con leche, Jamaica, choco mazapan, churro, Limon, Chocolate abuelita. I sampled a few of them. I liked the unique flavors of the Limon and the Jamaica. Some of the donuts were fresh and had a soft texture where some were older and dried out. Theres lots of parking in the lot of the strip mall. Service was friendly and helpful. I liked the unique flavors of the donuts, I liked the ones that were fresh. They have some vegan donuts too which I didn't try. It's $2 off 1/2 dozen or $4 off a dozen donuts. The torta was good but a bit on the pricy side, but I guess that's inflation. I'll probably try the preppa pig torta next time. Coffee by Cafe Motto was also a good choice to go with the donuts.
google avatar

Kimberly H.

Yelp
My 10 year old daughter got the chocolate abuelita (hot chocolate) and gives it a 4.5. Came here on a Saturday around 3pm and there was no line. There were some donuts that ran out. Overall, pretty good and worth checking out if you're in the area.
google avatar

Kristen W.

Yelp
Cute little donut shop with Mexican inspired flavors. Every donut was delicious, light, doughy and airy! Removing one star because of the service. There was one cashier working and 2 customers including myself waiting. A second cashier came to help the customer in front of me. As soon as she was done, the second cashier looked at me and left... why didn't she help me? Lol so I waited for the first cashier, who was very nice and helpful.
google avatar

Kent L.

Yelp
I got the choco mazapan doughnut and perhaps my expectations were just too high, but the doughnut was just okay for me. The service was excellent, the staff was really sweet...but the doughnut quality seemed like Vons doughnuts, a bit dry, not too much bite...almost a bit stale. I would have rated 3 stars, but I did come in 30 minutes before closing, so perhaps the doughnuts are just not as fresh anymore. I may have to come back to reevaluate when it is earlier in the day. The doughnut was $3. At first I thought "wow, that's expensive, I thought doughnuts were only $1 in general. I checked Krispy Kreme's and it turns out their doughnuts are around $2.50 nowadays, so I guess $3 isn't outrageously priced. Was really hoping to enjoy it more than I did.
google avatar

Julieanne H.

Yelp
I stopped here for breakfast instead of going to the Mexican restaurant across the parking lot and was pleased to find they had a breakfast sandwich. I opted for the shredded beef torta, which was generously portioned and perfect for sharing, making it more reasonably priced. I was surprised by the high price of their donuts, but they looked spectacular--definitely something to try next time. The coffee was bold and offered free refills, which was a nice touch. The restaurant was sparkling clean and Instagram-worthy, with cool neon lights and decorations. The staff were incredibly fun and nice, adding to the overall positive experience. I will definitely be coming back.
google avatar

Jaymie B.

Yelp
Omg this place was incredible. They're the only place I've been in town that gives Mary's a run for their money. The Rosca donut was intensely good, I could only eat bits at a time it was so rich but soooo good. The cream cheese filling was out of this world too. Will definitely grab another one next year. The cocada and chocolate abuelita were soooo good too but my favorite of those two was the coconut one. They have so many other flavors to try I can't wait to go back! And the horchata was amazing too. Everything was just fantastic here! My one complaint is that they aren't open later!!!
google avatar

Mary M.

Yelp
Not only does Barrio Donas has such a super cute barrio vibe with a menu full of authentic Mexicano flavors of donuts and tortas, they have a super friendly staff! I tried the #2 La Norteña--a flavorful machaca egg sandwich on a hot, soft bread roll, and it was delicious! I also gave the cinnamon glaze donut a try; it was okay, but I wish I'd gone for a different flavor--next time for sure. Looking forward to exploring more of their unique menu!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious tortas and donuts! Couldn't decide if i should get a torta or donut so just got both. carne asada torta and added grilled pineapple- delicious! Cubano torta - equally delicious Decided on a half dozen: Flan - had a mini flan in the middle Mi rey - had a ferraro rocher in the middle Chocolate abuelita - Carlota de limon Churro Cajeta After taste testing, they all started to taste the same because of the sweetness but we liked it all. They had other flavors i would have wanted to try but they brought them out as i was leaving. The horchata was good but i wish it wasnt too much ice that they put in the cup. Theres a few tables inside and the staff here were really nice. Plenty of free parking outside.
google avatar

Oscar V.

Yelp
They were out of many things early in the morning probably due to them not making many things before opening. Very disappointed with the experience and also for being way over priced for what they sell!
google avatar

Gail U.

Yelp
If you are into enjoying pretty decorated donuts and are in the La Jolla area, give this place a visit. So much has changed since your local neiborhood bakery of yesteryear as a kid or enjoying Hostess Twinkies or Loves donuts from the super market. The decorating colors are brighter, bolder and even more prettily embellished. Voodoo Donuts in Oregon or Krispy Kreme in Maui or Malasadas in Kapahulu... old time favorites now have another entry in the pastry scene. Doc bought a box of 6. Different with catchy names. Mine had the prettiest topping with mini marshmallow, teeny tiny chocolate curls and two types of chocolate. The taste: very sweet so I picked at the frosting and the good thing, the texture of the donut was so light and soft- the best part. Just like cupcakes hit the bakery scene years ago, donuts are the new kid that's trendy and may be in demand.

Yelp
Discovered this little gem last year, got hooked and came back. I wish I had a Barrio Donas in Arizona. They have a big variety of doughnuts. Our favorite are the Lemon one and the glazed croissants with Nutella. We tried both the green and red tamales. We like both but the red one is our favorite. This place has the BEST horchata coffee. We are obsessed with it. It's a small place with sitting area inside and some outside. The staff is friendly, patient and helpful with questions even when they are busy.
google avatar

Chari M.

Yelp
Clairemont store front is such a cute little shop! Ladies there were so welcoming and friendly, very helpful with any questions! I recently tried their Horchata donut from a friend and Omgosh I'm forever obsessed and had to go check this place out! I ordered 2 horchata donuts this time along with Hibiscus which is also another new obsession to have from them, even my 11yr loves it! All of the assortment I ordered in photo is delicious! They need to open one in East Valley area of Phoenix! (Hint hint)

Yelp
Delicious donuts, with perfect integration of Mexican flavors into each donut. Their coffee is from Mr moto, but they have alternative options like traditional Mexican preparation of coffee with spices or horchata. On bar with the current cost of donuts and coffee, no complaints here. Their most expensive coffee is the same price as a basic 16oz latte at Starbucks. And their donuts are appropriately priced for the quality and flavor provided. Love this place. Great service and welcoming ambiance.
google avatar

Sarai Z.

Yelp
The food was so so good! We had a chocolate mazapan donut. Omg! Fire! We had the horchata iced coffee so yummy as well. The service however, was not good unfortunately. The cashier seemed overwhelmed. She didn't really try to make it seem like she was having a good time. I tried to make small talk with her but she didn't budge. I think it wasn't a good day for her. I don't like doing reviews like this but I think it's necessary some times. The ambiance was so cute! Super kawaii! Their merch was super adorable!
google avatar

Brianne N.

Yelp
The donuts are a little pricey but they're also VERY good. Not your run of the mill flavors. My favorite donut was the Jamaica, personally, but there weren't my any I didn't like. They offer vegan selection which are pretty good. More like cake donuts, but if they just marketed them as cake donuts I wouldn't have guessed they were vegan. We also got a torta. Which was solid. If also a little on the pricey side. My hands down favorite thing is the horchata. We went there just for horchata and I will do it again. Best horchata I've ever had.
google avatar

Rebecca A.

Yelp
Came here at 10am on a Saturday. The store is medium size, with tables inside and outside to enjoy your order. The staff was super friendly and made my morning brighter! La Mexicana Torta 4/5. Tasty but I just wished it had more filling Horchata 5/5. One of my favorite horchatas in SD! They make it fresh. Donuts 5/5. They have a variety of flavors, some of them pretty unique. We tried 6 different ones and my favorite was the horchata and cinnamon sugar. I'll definitely come back here and will recommend it to friends,
google avatar

Melissa C.

Yelp
This is easily one of my favorite donut spots! I don't have a go-to donut as it depends on what I'm feeling like that day, but you can't go wrong with any of them. It's all soft, fresh, and yummy! It's not overly sweet either, which I like. If you're a fan of iced coffee, I recommend the De Olla cold brew and add horchata. Their tortas are good too. Big lot for parking & friendly service every time I've gone.
google avatar

Rigo S.

Yelp
If you haven't been here, I HIGHLY recommend you try them out. Their horchata donut was my favorite and legit tastes like the drink. The abuelita chocolate was super good, too. Def get those two. Everyone was super friendly which is always a plus.
google avatar

Stephanie R.

Yelp
This place has some seriously great donuts! And their iced horchata latte made with cafe de olla is a favorite. Staff are also super kind and friendly, definitely feels like you're being treated by an abuela. It can get super busy and a little packed inside, but service doesn't take too long usually, so folks dwindle out fairly quickly.
google avatar

Rose L.

Yelp
Located in a small food hall and what initially caught my eye was a cute pink box displayed and realized they sell donuts. There's quite a bit of special flavors, however, I just stuck with what I know what I will like and that was the horchata flavored donut. For $3, it was a big donut. It was really soft inside and just a tad too sweet for me (sweeter than Krispy Kreme original glaze) but the flavor is a thumbs up. The cashier could be friendlier. Upon walking in, I see her frowning at the register while helping another customer. There was no greeting when it came to my turn to order either.
google avatar

Silvia R.

Yelp
An update review from last time I went to Barrio Donas . I still feel it can use more filling inside, other than that great flavors, good dough and very cute spot. My review went up one star more from the last visit . Also service can be a bit more bright personality wise on the other side of counter . It matters (:
google avatar

Alex D.

Yelp
The coffee black was standard fare. Wifey didn't really like her horchata coffee. The donuts were good, unique flavors. The breakfast sandwich was okay, I give it a 3/5. Don't remember it too well as I write this.
google avatar

Frank B.

Yelp
I don't understand the reviews with less than 5 stars to be honest. Because if the reason why you knock a star or two off is because you don't really like doughnuts then you shouldn't review at all, or eat doughnuts for that matter. Now on to my review. This place is awesome! The ladies are super nice, friendly and welcoming! They are also very efficient, and if you know my reviews, I am big with customer service. So for that reason alone their service is second to none. The place was very tidy, there was a line when we got there But because the employees are very efficient, we were able to order in no time. So many variety of gourmet fancy doughnuts to choose from, decently priced if you ask me. I've been to an other fancy doughnut shops that charges wayyyy more and their doughnut tastes like an actual regular grocery bread, covered with .99 frosting. These doughnuts at barrio are very doughy, and delicious! I highly recommend this place to any doughnut lovers out there!
google avatar

Karla R.

Yelp
Oh man. If you live in San Diego, consider yourself lucky being in close proximity to Barrio Donas This place has some SERIOUSLY impressive donuts and they're so unique! I never knew I needed a Jamaica donut until this place showed me the light lol It took me a couple of tries to be able to get the donuts I really wanted to check out. The first time I went, they were out of nearly all their baked goods -- which is a good sign and speaks to how popular this shop is! The second time, I was able to snag the five donuts I really was curious about My favorite one, and the one I implore you to get, is the concha donut! It's perfectly sweet and is the perfect love child of a concha and donut. It's got the donut's texture and build, but also the concha's flaky sweetness with its vanilla topping ADVICE!! -- GO EARLY. This place does sell out (and rightfully so), so go early to get what you're interested in

Barrio Donas will be my new go to when I'm craving for donuts or coffee. I came in for a pick me up coffee and got tempted by their menu and ended up getting food as well. I ordered the Moto cold brew coffee which was very STRONG - just the way I like it....I'm still going hours later, haha. I also tried their choco mazapan donut and Loma torta. The donut was so soft, fresh, and full of flavor. The torta was also so tasty! You can tell that everything is baked fresh and daily. The lady that took my order was friendly and helpful :)

Yelp
Everything here is great. They have some really unique and tasty donut flavors. The Jimaica donut is a really great combination of tart and sweet flavors. I also love the horchata donut, arrroz con leche (when available), and cocada. They have vegan donuts also! Today I had the vegan "fresh," which had a tropical glaze and fresh fruit. It was the best donut I've ever had. I'm usually a cake donut type of person (wink wink if you are looking to add to the menu), but this place is my favorite donut place by far due to their unique Mexican inspired flavors. Their horchatas are so good. I recently had the Fresas Crema, which was a strawberry and cream horchata. I wish I got the bigger size. If you're in the mood for something savory, they also have a nice selection of tortas.

Yelp
Thank you to Janet Martinez, Laura, and the Barrio Donas Staff who helped complete my order for 500 donuts and 500 servings of beverages for my event. I serve as student body president and thanks to Barrio Donas we were able to serve 500 students on the last day of school at UC San Diego. It was such a great experience working with them and would 100% recommend working with them, they had great communication with me throughout the whole process. Their pastries and beverages are absolutely delicious and all of the students loved them! I ordered a diverse array of donuts including original glaze, guayaba, chocolate, mazapan and horchata fresa. For beverages I ordered Atole de Avena, Cafe de Olla, Horchata Cold Brew and everything arrived freshly made and on time for the event. I know this was a large order so muchas gracias to you Barrio Donas!

Yelp
They offer so many fun donut options! My favorite has been the horchata flavored donut. It's sweet, fluffy, milky glaze, and cinnamon on top. The horchata drink, on the other hand, was a bit too sweet for me. I think it might have been too much condensed milk in the drink; it was losing the rice and cinnamon flavors of the drink.

Yelp
I love this place so much! My favorites are the cafe de olla with horchata and the tamales You can tell the staff are good people and the quality of everything is consistent and on point. 10/10 Love this place and is my go to for coffee runs :)

Yelp
Oh my gosh! These donuts were delicious. They were all soft, light, fresh, and fluffy! Some donuts are very heavy and cakey. These were NOT at all. Just the right amount of sweetness and ahhh the creativity of each donut.... Loved it. I chose a variety of regular and vegan donuts and they were equally delightful. There was really no difference in taste between the two, which was impressive. I also got the cafe de olla cold brew + horchata and that was absolutely unforgettable! The two ladies that were assisting customers were so incredibly kind and engaging. They made the experience so pleasant! There's a cute neon sign right above two tables you can sit at and enjoy your donuts. The shop itself is small and gets packed, but I'd 1000000% recommend a stop if you're local or in the area. They also have tortas, tamales, and other breakfast items. I will def come back next time I'm visiting SD! p.s the GUAVA donut was my fav!

Yelp
It took me a while to get to this place because they close at 6 PM which I think is pretty early. I bought two donuts & horchata. The donuts tasted stale. The horchata was yummy

Yelp
This place is awesome. The donuts are super fresh and soft. You truly get what you pay for. I've tried various donuts and they're all delicious. The most recent one I tried was the "flan" donut, wow was that tasty! In addition, they have some of the best tortas I've ever had. I tried the carne asada torta and I was impressed with the freshness of the ingredients and the delicious bread. You can tell that they make the bread in house because it's soft and delicious. I'm excited to try the other stuff on the menu. Lastly, service was top notch. The ladies working the counter were super kind and welcoming. And the place was very clean which is appreciated.

Yelp
We all what donuts are and we all know about Pan de Dulce. Now put it together and you get Barrio Doñas! I LOVE the Champurado, always creamy and delicioso! Their "crazy concoctions" as I call them are ridonculous... like, bra... just look those things. The Gansito is especially familiar to the Latins. Do you like Sugar? (yes) Do you like Carbs? (Yes) Do you like Fried Food? (YES) Then come on down to Barrio Doñas in Claremont and live a dream!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Barrio Donas for years and finally made it here! Although they didn't have their full selection since I came at noon on a Saturday and a lot has sold out, there was still a decent selection and all the donuts I got were delicious. A half dozen donuts is $2 off so we got a half dozen for $15 which is not bad at all. In addition to donuts, they also have tortas, tamales, coffee, horchatas, and other iced and hot drinks. I'm definitely planning to come back soon to try their tortas and tamales because they look and smell delicious. And for the vegan friends, they also have vegan donuts! Staff is friendly and helpful. Nice interior with a few tables inside They're located in a plaza with lots of parking so no challenge there.

Yelp
Large parking lot shared with other businesses. Watch out for the giant dip in this lot if you have a car. Had lunch nearby and wanted dessert. I had seen them all over Instagram. Walked in and a group of people were ordering/blocking the donuts so we were unable to see the options. Staff kept asking us what we wanted to order and I mentioned it was our first time and we didn't know/couldn't see the options. They seemed irritated by this. Once the group finally left we were able to look at the donuts and the ingredients. Staff again tried to rush us to order. It would be helpful for those with allergies if they had a nut icon but they do not. Tried the Payaso. It was almost $3. I'm used to paying that for a cupcake but not a donut. I'm not really a donut fan so it's hard for me to judge but I just thought it was okay. I wouldn't be back.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday morning, and thank goodness it was not busy. The place is clean and felt welcoming. The staff were the best. Very nice and appreciative. Now let's speak of the donuts which I had several. It's so good. I had the churro donut, MI Rey, horchatta, and my favorite chocolate abuelita! I only wished I would bought a champurrado. There are so many delicious things to choose from. I would like to come again to sample other items! You need to come to try this out!
