From the staff, to the owner, to the bartenders, to the food to the quality of everything- completely great and so enjoyable. My fiancé and I have been here for 4 days and have come 3 out for 4 times bc it’s such a great place. Atmosphere, food, environment, vibes- you got it all. Definitely take the time to check it out and ask for Gavin to make you a badass espresso martini or whatever drink you’d like.

Horror I can only say absolutely horrible food. Undercooked lobster with shell all over the top. I passed it around the table and we all photographed the fact it was undercooked andcovered in small pieces of the shell….those who ate it threw up all night. Octopus with no flavor or char nor plating or desire. Sooo over rated if they knew how to prepare it would be a different story. We had it the night before cooked some what better. I am disappointed in this. Beat salad- 4 of us had it and each almost threw up. It was watery rancid old gross. Pure torture to swallow. We love blue cheese pears beats and walnuts you will it’s actually just beats out of a can sliced and then throw on the plate water down red onions it takes two bad I was I’ll. I needed a tums after. Best espresso martini: if you’ve never had one before… not even fresh espresso. They did make a good Bourbon on the rocks. Thought they have a very very very very small amount of options. I will never go again with my friends of family I feel guilty u forced the birthday boy in our group to go he didn’t even get so much as a free dessert for his birthday. Not invoking my server who worked hard and was amazing besides the fact the food was HORRIBLE. 2/10 do not go. L

We had a great experience. The sirloin steak dish was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious, and the seafood stew was outstanding as well. We finished with tiramisu which was great! The service was excellent—everyone was attentive, friendly, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. The atmosphere was warm and enjoyable, making it a place we’d happily return to.

Food was great. Enjoyed the bass and the paella. Good spanish wine selection. Our server was very attentive

Google
Overall place does not worth the cost. The portions are small, but cost is way above average for a good restaurant. That could be ok if service was outstanding… but it wasn’t. Server messed up the table accidentally and never decided to come back and clean, disappointing for such value. The atmosphere is a killer there, though busses pass by often, it’s nice to sit on the terrace. No reason to bring kids in this restaurant, but not bad for couples.

Google
Barrio Social is an absolute must-visit. Hands down the best espresso martini in town — perfectly balanced, smooth, and dangerously good. The vibe is on point, but what really makes the place special is the service. Huge shoutout to Gavin, aka the Gav Meister — incredible bartender, super welcoming, and clearly knows his craft. You can tell he takes pride in what he serves, and it shows in every drink. If you’re anywhere near Vial Village and want a top-tier cocktail (especially an espresso martini), Barrio Social should be at the top of your list. We’ll definitely be back. 🍸☕️

We live in Vail for a few months each year and have eaten at pretty much every restaurant. We didn’t feel this was a very good value relative to the price. Vs other options nearby. Here’s some Details. If you sit on the patio, it is essential that you be on the left side. The bus stop is right in front of the right side of the patio. The electric buses are pretty quiet, but the diesel ones are very noisy —really kills the atmosphere. Bread - Good quality, excellent butter. Four dollars. A deal. Gazpacho. Pretty tasty. Great deal at $10 Avocado soup. Very nice. Had A reasonable amount of crab sprinkled on top. Around $15 in a good value. Octopus. Not that great. A little stringy. Cut into small pieces, not served as an entire tentacle. Dry. But most oddly , It came with mashed potatoes and potato slices. Since the octopus was dry, there wasn’t any sort of a liquid element or sauce that would’ve really helped out. Disappointing. Poorly thought out and poor execution. Watermelon salad. Probably the highlight of the meal - really well seasoned. Had some nice mini Barada cheeses to go with it. Smart design! Cheese plate. Two of the four cheeses were manchego variants, one with a strong truffle flavor and one with a wine flavor. We didn’t enjoy them. The Pure manchego was excellent. The fourth cheese was OK. Olives were good. Overall, disappointing for the price. Potatoes - ok but not great; expensive. Wine - $17 for a small glass of OK wine is just really typical in Vail. It’s a nice location and the service was OK. We won’t be back. There’s better options.

Google
Very cute ski town, and the atmosphere is amazing. The mussels are tasty, but the fried calamari is just okay

Yelp
Raul and his team were so wonderful today! After a long hike up the mountain our kiddos were going berserk, and Raul effortlessly took care of us as if there were no upsets at all. As if that wasn't enough, the food is truly amazing! Vail baby, need I say more? Believe me, stop by, try, say hi :) David Kanefsky Insurance Agency

Yelp
Great food and service. We had the avocado soup, gazpacho, and watermelon salad to start. Those were our favorites. We enjoyed the bread and dipped it into our olive appetizer, otherwise the bread could have probably used a side of olive oil. Snapper was good and Brussels sprout side was great. Most importantly for us, we didn't need a reservation and were able to grab a table on a Saturday without planing ahead. Love it.

Robert G.

Yelp
Food was good but super over priced I asked for 2 hot black coffee refilled once $26.... Mind you it was the size of an espresso shot. Food portions were small but delicious. Service was 7.8/10 we asked for Spanish specific dishes nothing he suggested was a Spanish dish seemed uneducated on Spanish dishes. I would expect for an expensive restaurant they would be knowledgeable. He was very nice and constantly checked on us

Allison L.

Yelp
This is not a family-friendly restaurant. We felt unwelcome. If you are looking for a relaxed, welcoming dining experience for your family, this is not the right choice. I strongly recommend this spot for adults only and would advise families to look elsewhere.

Yelp
Great service, great food and great drinks, i had the cold avocado and shrimp soup and the espresso martini. The atmosphere is really nice, but it is not a michelin star for it to have michelin prices. A little overpriced.

Yelp
This was our 2nd or 3rd time at Barrio, my wife and daughter love it. I could take it or leave it, the food in Vail, in general has declined in quality since COVID. My daughter and I both had red snapper, which was pretty good. It was served on top of some kind of giant lima beans, which were great. My wife had the whole bronzini (one of our favorite dishes), but it was somehow deboned before cooking and was a little dried out. It was also a very small fish for $62.

Yelp
The location of this restaurant is gorgeous. It's in Vail, Colorado. I'm from NY. I thought the food was well prepared. However, not sure if it was the shrimp we ordered, but both me and the person I was dining with were a bit sick afterwards. I wonder if the shrimp might have been stored for too long ? Other than that, everything tasted delicious. Service was excellent. My waiter was attentive. The price was very high, but again, it's because of the location. If you want cheap food, I would not come here.

Yelp
Pricey. We just got appys and drinks and dropped a fair amount of money. The bartender, Silvio, who served us was awesome and introduced us to a crazy Croatian concoction of red wine with coke. Definitely an off menu item that made for a really fun and unique experience. And don't knock it until you try it. The squid ink with the calamari was too over the top for me and actually detracted from the dish. The fried goat cheese croquetta was really good along with the brussels sprouts.

Yelp
People who visit Vail often already knew this, but on our first visit we discovered there's a bit of a situation with the restaurants and especially on Sundays. Though there are a number of upscale dining options, they follow hours that are intuitive to the area but not necessarily to first time visitors. After a long day of traveling, we were eager to get in there, see Vail Village, and grab a bit to eat. Barrio Social was one of the few places actual open and serving more than ski aprés. We were delighted with our entire meal. The potatoes, shrimp, and scallops were well prepared, seasoned, and plated. The dining area is beautifully decorated, and even though there were not many people in it was very enjoyable. The cocktail menu was strong, too. We had great service and were happy to have come across this restaurant.

Yelp
Went here for dinner with two others. We got three appetizers to share: the watermelon salad, patatas bravas, and fried crab. All were absolutely delicious and had great serving sizes so we could all share. For the entree, I got the black cod and highly recommend it. The whole plate felt carefully curated and went together beautifully. Also got the white wine sangria: great as well. Finally, we finished off with the chocolate mousse for dessert, which was an excellent way to finish the evening. Our server was attentive and friendly, and the food was brought out at the perfect times. We sat outside, which was lovely, especially with the view of the village. I would love to come back here and try more. They have a menu with lots of options, and I know I can trust the food to be amazing. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Disappointing. Beautiful restaurant space, but the food was pretty bad. We ordered three tapas - the mussels, tuna tartare, and beet salad. The mussels and the beet salad were really lacking in flavor - very blah. The tuna had good flavor, but was cut poorly. Many pieces had sinewy sections that made it unpleasant to eat. Our waitress was nice, but the restaurant was understaffed and service was very slow.

Yelp
Good selection of Spanish tapas. Delicious, large portions, attentive service and a great patio in the main Vail village. Since it's tapas everyone can find something they like. Damn, they serve whole roasted Branzino. Love it.

Yelp
My husband and I hadn't been to this spot before and we loved it! The items from La Bottega on their menu, combined with their unique menu, make for a wonderful variety of things to choose from. Hell, we liked it so much -- the food, the service, the ambiance -- that we came back multiple times in our two week stay! Situated right on Meadow, you can sit on the patio and people watch, stare at the beautiful mountains, or enjoy their luxe and lovely interior. We sat outside each time because, well, why not! My favorite dishes were the tartare and the chorizo croquets -- god, I wish I could ship myself some of those croquets! The gnocchi was delightful as well, which I got on a whim, and my husband couldn't get enough of the La Bottega steak and cheese. When we get back to the mountains, we will definitely be back!

Yelp
Do NOT sit in the back room. Loud, brightly lit - felt like high school cafeteria box room. Do not agree to a res if u have to sit here. Service: started amazing...ended awful. Too much too early....needed flags and sirens to pay the bill. Food: Scallops-ok. Lamb Chops-very good. Duck-ok. Octopus-awful. Chewy, semi-warm, with cold Yukon potato foam - if you are fan of poorly prepared dishes - this is your jam. All was overpriced, even for Vail. Wine...only from Spain and way overpriced. Good selection....but... 20% auto tip. Sorry....im not paying 20% on a $150 bottle of wine and poor service. Love when I tell the waiter service was bad and I am not tipping 20%, he gave the snotty look. Dumb...that cost him another $10.

Neel N.

Yelp
Food was great. Seated ten of us and got the food out efficiently. The mushroom dish was solid and I liked the lamb.

Yelp
Absolutely Outstanding! I've eaten a lot of great food but this is honestly one of the best meals I've had in a long time. If you like authentic recipes and simple food done right. This is your spot. They are new but the flavors are developed and authentic. The Shakshuka was to die for. Ask for some fresh grilled bread on the side to scoop... a freakin mazing. It's great to share. The cheese plate selection are on point. The empanada was so dialed in. Not to spicy. Hints of natural sweetness and a little punch from the spices in the Charizo with a savory umami. The dough was crispy and flaky and smooth. Highly recommend. Can't speak to the whole menu as this was my first time, but I'll make it a point to come back. If you're in Vail it's worth stopping by.

Yelp
Amazing food! Definitely can tell they have the right vibe and service. So glad we came! Lots of great variety.
google avatar

Taz H.

Yelp
If you want to make friends, this is a good place because you and your neighbors will just be waiting forever for any service or food. Overpriced tapas (menu doesn't even have a good selection). Serves are overworked and overwhelmed. In top of that, 20% service included without telling you. 3 because ambiance was pretty if you're into that.

Yelp
Beware. Food was so so. Have been sick for 24 hours counting. Waiter was very nice guy.

Yelp
Spectacular food, awesome ambience, and wonderful service. If you like a variety of plates and good wine, this is a spectacular restaurant. You can watch everything being prepared from a wide open kitchen! I will definitely go back. Great value!

Yelp
Food was good, freshly made and crunchy but DONT SIT IN THE BACK ROOM! After about 5 mins I felt insanely sick and dizzy, I had to run outside so I could feel better, I tried to go back in but once I went up the stairs I felt dizzy again and stepped outside, I stayed outside the whole time. service was so so, my waiter was very nice but the other waiters were acting strange. One of them looked and me and made a strange sound and other waiters were starting at me a lot. 2/5

Yelp
Ate here twice. Both times delicious. I love tapas, opportunity for a wide variety of dishes. Both times very happy with our meals. Every dish was delicious. Excellent service. Nice atmosphere. I was wondering why I hadn't heard of this place and was told it had only been open for a few weeks. My only fear is as it becomes better known will be more difficult to get a reservation.

Yelp
Wow wow wow. I can not express how impressed I am with this restaurant. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere warm and inviting. I started my meal with their freshly squeeze rosemary infused pineapple juice, you must try it! I'm not a huge coffee drinker, but my wife said the cappuccino was delicious. Our meal was equally delicious. I can honestly say that this is the best chicken and waffles I have ever had! If I come back I will get the Francesinha Rustic. My wife had it and I could not stop stealing bites! You must try this place!
google avatar

Rebecca P.

Yelp
We stopped by for breakfast during our stay in Vail and I am SO glad that we did. This was the best breakfast I have had in a long time. We started with a cappuccino and pineapple rosemary juice - both of which were delicious. For our meal we ordered the Francesinha Rustic and the Chicken and Waffles. The flavors of both dishes were wonderful. The Francesinha was savory and hearty while not being too heavy. The potatoes were perfectly crispy. The chicken and waffles was honestly the best I've ever had! Made with chicken thighs which made for moist and flavorful chicken and a waffle that had that sugar crunch you always crave with waffles and so rarely get. The interior is beautiful and the staff was super friendly. We will definitely be back to try more!

Leonardo P.

Yelp
Hostess was very rude. our server was wonderful the food was mediocre and steak tartare made all of us have a upset stomach. Wouldn't return or recommend

Yelp
What a great experience!!! We were looking for a place to have dinner in vail and stumbled on this wonderful restaurant. We didn't have reservations but we were able to sit at the bar. From the first moment, we received the the best service and attention. Our bartender was wonderful. Top notch service and delicious food!! The ambience was incredible. Highly recommend!! Will go back again.

Patty W.

Yelp
Awesome food -- as the meal we ordered (halibut) was delicious. Great presentation! Very friendly and attentive staff. Wonderful ambiance. Will definitely return!

Chance H.

Yelp
Food was good with the exception of the broken eggs. Hard fried eggs over fries with a side of ham for $18 meh. The bone marrow was one of the best I've had and both the octopus and cheeks were amazing! We had a trainer with a new server who looks clueless but overall it was a good experience. The wine list is 100% Spanish and extremely expensive by the bottle.
google avatar

Stacey T.

Yelp
This place was an awkward roller coaster of energy. Some of the staff were extremely awesome and friendly. The hostess was no where to be found for the first five minutes of me standing at the hostess stand. Finally someone tracked her down. She told me she only had upstairs, even though there were several open tables on the main level and outside. I explained that I just had surgery. That's when she said it was only four stairs, so I went for it. I was in running clothes, it appeared that the upstairs was where they seated people who weren't dressed to impress and anyone with children. A family walked in and asked to be on the main level, were denied and brought upstairs also even though there were several open tables. My Caesar Salmon Salad was just okay. The homemade cheese croutons or whatever they were, tasted horrible. It's not a place I'd need to return to, especially for the price point.

Burt R.

Yelp
Great tapas spot! The giant prawns were amazing. Everything else was also super tasty. I only wish they had more Spanish wines by the glass.

Tiffany L.

Yelp
new favorite restaurant. vail needed a new restaurant that made great drinks and has a spanish cuisine!

Charlie B.

Yelp
Bottega will always be #1 in my heart with this right behind. Amazing place by a great chef.

Scott S.

Yelp
They are closed and unfortunately it was very short lived. Great concept horrible execution

Carol B.

Yelp
wish I could give zero. food and service were great but unfortunately the area we were seated in became a very rowdy engagement party. completely ruined our dining experience. several other diners asked to be re seated. we left. Will not go back , staff should be more attentive to all customers. It was the worst dining experience I've ever had
