Housemade pastas, fish & game in a candlelit old house

"People come to Barrique in hopes of getting laid. It's an objectively romantic setting (an old, yellow bungalow on Main Street) and everyone inside happens to be stunning. We don't quite understand how this works, but it does. Is their squid ink linguine with lobster the most inventive Italian food on the Westside? Of course not. But you’re not at Barrique to debate al dente execution. You’re here to drink a bunch of red wine at a candlelit table, flirt with waiters and/or your date, and feel what Venice might have felt like four decades ago." - brant cox, sylvio martins, nikko duren
"Located in a quaint, two-story yellow bungalow in Venice, this tiny Italian spot is a relic in every sense of the word, and one of the last remaining places to experience the old Venice—or before the tech bros got their hands on it, at least. Barrique has all the trappings of a classic date spot, with flicking candlelit interiors, Italian servers with thick accents, and a cozy side balcony with just enough room for a couple of tables for two. This is your move for anniversaries or “We don’t need an excuse, we just want to go somewhere fancy” dinners." - brant cox
"In a town full of romantic Italian restaurants, Barrique is the most romantic Italian restaurant of them all. It’s in a two-story yellow bungalow house on Main St. in Venice, and has all the makings of an ideal date venue - a side balcony with only enough room for a couple of tables for two, many Italian-accented waiters, and some seriously great food. This is your spot for anniversaries, birthday dinners, or “We don’t need an excuse, we just want to go somewhere fancy” dinners." - jess basser sanders, brett keating, james montgomery
"A straightforward spot in Venice serving excellent, classic Italian food, Barrique is a great bet if you’re on the Westside. Their pastas are good - especially the linguine nere (squid ink spaghetti with lobster), but their meats are really what we’re all about here. There’s a wild boar pork chop with raspberry sauce, smoked duck, and dry-aged ribeye. Make sure you get some prosciutto and burrata, too. App delivery and takeout available." - brett keating
