The 20 Best Restaurants In Cleveland

"For an evening of arepas and a reasonable amount of turning up, stop by Barroco. Anyone who walks in after 5pm on a Friday or Saturday is greeted with a free tequila shot served in half a lime. There’s a lot to take in after the boozy welcome: multicolor Christmas lights, fake flower bushes, and Sharpie doodles all over the walls. Grab a table and chill on the covered patio, where you can down caipirinhas and snack on sweet plantains with queso. All the meat fillings are tasty, but any menu items stuffed with chorizo are top-tier. They close at 10pm, so keep the party going at club “Eating Takeout Flan In Bed.” " - kate bigam kaput

It's a cute restaurant with some good artwork on the walls and very good latin food. Our waitress was very nice and answered any questions we had. The menu has a variety of items on it. We got birriatrepa arepas. You get a side with it. I recommend the side salad and consome on the side. I will be back to try their empanadas. The only con is that the prices are high.

Google
Absolutely ridiculously way too long to wait to get service almost an hour plus to be seated. I understand high volume maybe due to how great the food is, but then also almost an hour+ to get food maybe even a little longer but I can appreciate good food only got one water the entire time being here. But again the entire experience was worth the amazing food. I believe, adding more staff would fix these problems and this place would be 10 out of 10

Food was all super fresh and homemade. Large portions and absolutely delicious. The smoked colada is one of the best drinks that I've ever had. Nice patio as well.

Amazing. My first time and I'm considering moving just so I can eat here more often. Victoria was super sweet and helpful. Drink and meal was amazing. Everything so cute. Will definitely come back.

Everything was absolutely amazing, I’ve been waiting to come here for years and I’m so excited we finally stopped in. We may be back for brunch haha

Always love finding these hidden gems around Cleveland! Barroco is pure Latino food from many different backgrounds with heavy authentic dishes prepared with quality ingredients in a truly unique environment. A great place to go for a lively experience with friends, family, or a chill meal with a significant other. Prices are not too bad. Service is excellent. Parking can be a bit tough off the street if you go during busy hours. But the food is by far 100% worth it! Details: The food is by far the star of this restaurant! The super flavorful dishes are kept fresh and updated with new menu options every few months, and will take you on a delicious journey across many Hispanic countries with authentic preparation and ingredients. The result will surely blow you away with amazing flavors and variety that will leave you full but still craving more. Their drinks are also pretty unique. Overall their prices are not bad considering the value you get to experience. In terms of service, it was wonderful to have friendly waiters that help you navigate the extensive menu and ingredients, and we even got complimentary lime shots on our way out! No wonder they won so many awards over the years. Vegan and vegetarian options are available and many dishes can be modified as needed, just ask. The atmosphere is truly unique. From the lively Hispanic music, one-of-a-kind walls where you can leave other guests (or your future self) a message, to the overall vibe, Barroco really does it well enough to stand out. Mostly indoor seating with decor as vibrant as their dishes. Restrooms were well maintained. Parking can be a challenge if you go during peak hours as it is free off the street. You may need to walk a little to get there however it'll be more than worth it for the flavors. Overall this is one place I will be keeping track of to experience their constantly updating menu of exceptional flavors. 100% recommend!

Google
Best food all week. Loved their sauces! Phenomenal guacamole! It was a bit loud and sitting under the air conditioning vent on a humid day gives you more water than desired. We will absolutely be back to our new favorite restaurant in Cleveland!

Yelp
I can understand why this is ranked one of the best Latin restaurants and brunch spots in Cleveland. Food here is AMAZING - very flavorful and freshly cooked! The food was definitely a different take compared to the arepas I've had elsewhere (these are more crunchy and grilled), but still very tasty. The portion sizes could probably feed 1.5/2 people, which is nice to share or take leftovers home. The seats are a little close together, but still enough privacy for conversation. The string lights, art on the ceiling, and mural work also made it feel cozy. Make sure you are not in a rush when eating here. Although the restaurant was only half full on a Saturday afternoon, it took about 10 minutes for us to order, and about 30 minutes for the food to be ready. Excited to come again on a weekday and try their drink specials with the food.

Yelp
This was my first time stopping into Barroco and it was a fun experience trying traditional latin cuisine with fun and bold flavors. The place itself is tucked away into Lakewood and offers a great atmosphere with an indoor/outdoor flow. The ambiance is nice, they have good music playing in the background not too loud and not too quiet. We went in the evening, so all the lights were turned on which made the experience enjoyable. All the food was really flavorful, and they had a ton of options for cocktails. The complimentary sauces are phenomenal and definitely take the dishes to the next level! Unfortunately, we had to wait over an hour for our food to come out and despite being told appetizers would be quick they took awhile. Server was kind and apologetic and explained they had a new training chef although it felt others around us were getting their food. I do wish they would have given us a complimentary appetizer or made one free of charge as the wait total was almost 1.5 hours. Overall, this place is a really great stop and I'm glad to have it nearby. I have heard the service and speed is usually efficient so maybe this was just a one night thing. Definitely stop in as they have a large menu with bold flavor and a great atmosphere.

Yelp
My friends and I were very excited to go to such a high rated place with vegetarian and gluten free options. When we got there we noticed that they seemed understaffed so we expected to take a bit, but it took over a half our for our orders to be taken after we were seated and then another hour and a half to get our food. Which was annoying because other tables who came later than us had food coming out. I think they forgot our ticket because it wasn't until after we had asked if everything was ok about 10 minutes later our food was out. The worst part of the night was that we had asked for a dish labeled vegetarian optional to be vegetarian. After checking twice the vegetarian at the table started eating to realize it had meat in it which made her feel very sick. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt since they seemed understaffed, and the food and decor was great. Decent street parking Inside and patio options Can accommodate large groups Vegetarian and Gluten free options

Yelp
as soon as you walk in you are greeted kindly and then taken to your seat, we booked a reservation through open table about 40 minutes before walking in on a friday night and had no wait- our server did a good job going over the menu a bit and the sauce options that they put on the table which, as sauce loving people, was amazing!! our drinks were delicious and we ordered the "cheesy corn" appetizer which could easily serve 4-6 people. the energy in the restaurant was perfect for fun drinks and dinner; we sat inside but we were eyeing up the patio as it is very cute and eclectic with colorful string lights - overall delicious food and outstanding vibes. we will definitely be back

Yelp
Barroco is a great dining experience! We went with a party of 6 on a Saturday and our server was super attentive getting us drinks and appetizers out quickly. They have a patio space with a heater so still comfortable jn the winter months. Don't even get me started on the food! You cannot pass up a patacón. The amount of food was enough for two meals and they are more than generous with the meat servings. Another thing I love about barocco is all the sauces on the table. There are 5 different sauces that would appeal to all flavor palates. Highly recommend making a stop here for a dinner or lunch

Yelp
My friend had been here before and loved the vibes so she suggested it for dinner. We had a reservation but they didn't seem busy as of yet for a Friday evening. We had a fantastic server! Can't remember her name but she was friendly and personable. She also let us move to another table since it was wobbly. We ordered a pitcher of the traditional mojito to share along with guacamole, then we all opted for arepas. I got La sucia (steak), while my sister got Pernil (pulled pork), and my friend got the Mexicana (chorizo with jalapeños). They also give you a handful of sauce options for the table which give a bit more spice or flavor to the arepas. The arepas come with a side so we all chose yuca fries. The arepas are pretty big and kinda heavy so I had a hard time eating all of it. We all had leftovers for the next day! Overall, I like the decor. The outdoor patio had a tiki vibe, while the inside is more modern with a motorcycle in front of a wall decorated with flowers and greenery. They also had TVs outside showing the baseball games. Tons of parallel parking nearby. But there's also a large parking lot just a bit down the street. I'd come back!

Yelp
Unacceptable food quality. My pork sandwich had a big slab of soft pig skin that felt like chewing straight fat. In addition, my partner received food poisoning....they only managed to make it home before getting sick. For the price of their food, the quality was extremely sub par. The waitress was nice, but that is probably it for us.
google avatar

Yelp
Our server was so nice & gave us great recommendations for drinks and food! We sat on the patio and loved it bc the music was so loud inside. So we were still able to hear it but also have conversation too! Our drinks were the star of the show! AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! Passionfruit mojito and a smoked colada!! Our app was delicious. I can't remember what it was called but it was cheese covered plantain. It's was sweet and creamy! My husband and I both got arepas, and agreed they were just okay! I love that there are A TON of gluten free options here ! (I'm glad I didn't check the food violation list before I came here though bc it looks like they consistently have a lot :/ )

Yelp
Service here was good in terms of attentiveness and friendliness but the wait staff do need more training on dietary requirements as it didn't seem they understood what vegan meant (yes, it is marked on the menu, I wasn't feeling confident despite that. If you know you know when it comes to dining with allergies and diet preferences). The food is a little overpriced for the portion size, two entrees, guacamole and a soda was over $60. Guacamole that is $16 needs to be a cereal bowl size, not a tiny cup.

Yelp
Back again in two weeks! So good, and really accommodating for the GF MIL. Love the ambiance, so fun and casual. Love the cocktails, both mojito and red sangria! Got the chicken skewers and arepas this time which were all very tasty. Loved the ropa vieja! Sweet, salty, savory! My MIL loved the pork arepa and chicken skewers were good but could be made at home. Recommend the black bean soup!

Yelp
Wow. I loved originally going to the Larchmere location for years... the Lakewood location is now amazing and closer to me location wise. 1. Gluten free everything! 2. Very filling and big portion sizes 3. Mojitos (maybe should have been #1?) 4. Sauces! Ambiance is chill. Service was great. Yum!!
google avatar

Yelp
Super amazing food. Drinks are amazing and strong. The food is always hot I love the garlic sauce. The service is also amazing

Yelp
Just another quick update on my most recent visit to Barroco last night! Yet again, Barroco knocked it out of the park with their food, ambiance, and service! I ordered a shredded beef arepa, the "Rojo verde," with a side of yucca fries this time. I liked the arepa I had last year better (see previous review) but I ate everything and was very full and content! For this amazing meal, I paid $18 plus tax and tip. I cannot wait to go back :)
google avatar

Bebe T.

Yelp
Overpriced and the food presentation isn't very appealing. Crowded restaurant, tables too close for comfort.
google avatar

Willainia S.

Yelp
It is getting warm in the city and we love a good patio situation and Barroco delivers. The patio is super colorful and festive. A great backdrop for a girls evening out. They have a great drink menu complete margaritas, mojitos etc. I ordered a passionfruit mojito, complete with a raw sugar stick, that I delightfully chewed on after my meal. I ordered a veggie arepa, with a side salad. I wanted to add grilled chicken to it but they have a policy of not adding anything to arepas. They can however, take items out of the arepa. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable.

Yelp
Great decor and vibe. This Latin restaurant has it all. Great staff, delicious food, plenty seating, indoor/outdoor (patio is great in summer). All the sauces are a must try. Whats your favorite??

Yelp
My local friend recommended this spot for dinner and I'm glad we checked it out. Barroco was a lively, loud, fun experience with a welcome shot of tequila, live music, and great drinks. Their specialty is Latin American food with a large selection of arepas. There are great gluten free and veggie options as well as plenty of meat for carnivores. We were seated right away in the cozy enclosed back patio and the place was very busy and hopping on a Friday night. The menu states that they have the best mojitos on the planet, so I got the passionfruit. It came in a bowl-shaped vessel and was indeed the best mojito I've ever had. It was pretty sweet but strong and delicious. For food, we each ordered an arepa which comes with a side. I got the pernil with tostones, and Nate got the birriarepa with maduros. As we ate, one of the servers walked around and serenaded us with some beautiful singing, which was a really fun experience. The place was definitely pretty loud so it felt a bit like a party. The arepas were generously sized - we could have split one and been full! The pork was juicy and tender but lacked seasoning for me. The birriarepa was really tasty. I loved the crispy tostones but if you like a sweeter side, go for the maduros. Each table has a caddy of five different sauces, which were fun and delicious to try. I'm glad we got to check out this spot!

Yelp
Delicious food with lots of great options to choose from and amazing atmosphere with live music performances. Their service is also great, they made sure to give some great recommendations on their food options and they were spot on. Their drinks are served in very cute ways too and makes them even tastier haha definitely great place for some great latin food!

Yelp
Visited Barroco for the first time with a couple of friends and the food was really good! We ordered the empanadas to share and I ordered the Mexicana arepa - both were great. I also ordered a strawberry margarita and it was one of the best margaritas I've had. The only downside to our visit was the service; the server was slow but there weren't a lot of people at the restaurant. That said, one of my friends had to take his food to go because he needed to leave by a certain time. Other than that, I would recommend Barroco based on my experience with the food and drinks.
google avatar

Yelp
DELICIOUS food! Came here last night with a friend for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The service was friendly and fast and the food was to die for. The maduros (fried sweet plantains topped with cheese) were incredible and the mojito I ordered with it was also great and even came with a stick of sugar cane. My reina pepillada arepa was delicious too. It was stuffed with chicken, guac, and cheese and I got a side of yuca fries, which were super crispy. Would absolutely come back! Service: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Ambience: 4/5
google avatar

Daun H.

Yelp
The service was very good, it seemed as if the only server on duty was the bartender, but it wasn't busy. The food (areppa, their specialty) was just okay, the areppa shell was good, but it was falling apart when served, greasy on the bottom and messy, the filling not especially flavorful, but the sauces were good. The place seemed a little run down. I wouldn't choose again.
google avatar

Stefanie N.

Yelp
Go. Period. The food AND cocktails are fabulous. We had reservations for 6 on NYE. With call-offs, the staff was stretched and moving rapidly throughout this small space but they were happy to serve and helpful with menu suggestions. Might be the best guac I've ever had. The Pernil Arepa with garlic aioli sauce on the yuca fries was a great combination!

Dave S.

Yelp
The food was very bad. Apparently a new line cook, took 45 minutes and it wasn't crowded. Overcooked and not well made. Would not recommend.

Kimberly B.

Yelp
This is usually my go to spot when in town traveling for work. Usually everything is AMAZING but tonight the service was awful. No one came to check on me at all... I had to flag down different people for napkins, silverware, more drinks, sauces... didn't even know who my actual server was. My Arepa was actually VERY dry. No one cared or even asked how my food was. I even had to ask for the check 3 times & then went up to the front & paid. I paid $65 for a meal that I usually rave over but tonight was just less than what I expect. Uggh. So disappointing. I even tried to tell 2 people about my experience & they brushed me off. Didn't offer a discount or anything.
google avatar

Yelp
So so good. Lives up to the hype! Passionfruit mojitos are to die for. Server was amazing and gave wonderful recommendations!

Yelp
Barroco was on the list of local recommendations at my Lakewood Air BNB, so off I went. It's in a pretty walkable area, with not bad parking. Inside is really cute, lots of greenery, and fun lights and decor. The menu is huge so I started with the self proclaimed World's Best Mojito. And it's pretty darn good. A nice bite from the citrus, plenty of mint, and some raw sugar/cane sugar in the bottom. It was also a decent size for the price, which was consistent through my meal. They are known for the arepas, but I really wanted something dippy, so got the chicken and corn queso appetizer. It was delightful, there should be add ins for queso more often. It's listed as serving 2 or more, so I did take home about half. Because I really wanted the queso, but not too much food, I also ordered the black bean soup. It was also really good, lots of cumin and very chunky. Solid veg option. I was initially a little hesitant about the price of the soup, but it was easily 2 servings in the bowl. I'm more familiar with TexMex, so I was looking for chips and red salsa, which I don't think they do. But I really enjoyed the pineapple sauce from the sauce selection they bring out. It was sweet and fruity and a nice addition.

Yelp
Oh Barroco, I'm so grateful for your bright and lively presence in Cleveland. Colombian culture is infused into every detail of the restaurant. I almost always get the Condado cheese dip but without meat. It is cheesy tomatoey goodness. It never lasts long and I don't even care if I spoil my appetite with it. For dinner I usually go with an Arepa because it's their bread and butter. Everything is so fresh, hot and flavorful! Seriously a wonderful spot to come, relax and enjoy exciting food! A special shout-out to the carousel of 6 delicious sauces. I love them all! Be back soon!
google avatar

Elizabeth K.

Yelp
As a GF gal, this is one of my all-time favorites in the area. The Lakewood location is so great and we're happy with our meal everyyyyyy time. Granted, we get the same thing almost every time lol -- but still, this is a place you can count on for a delish date night, great service, and fun environment. Ropa Veija (both the meal and arepa) 10/10 !
google avatar

Rachel E.

Yelp
Probably the BEST Colombian food in Cleveland, giving eclectic and vibrant atmosphere. Empanadas are a must eat when going to a Colombian restaurant, they were delicious; filled with braised beef and potatoes and aji salsa. "Birria Torta" are amazing and HUGE portions, very cheesy and the consome grilled baguette was a very good touch, all of their sauces are gluten-free and variety of flavors: Spicy peanut, garlic aioli, pineapple, chimichurri, spicy peanut and a mayonnaise-based ranchero. Service is always good and such a nice happy atmosphere, great place for social media bloggers.
google avatar

Debbie N.

Yelp
Fair warning on this review - we only came for drinks and ended up with dessert too! Stopped in after eating tacos at home because we were longing for margaritas! It was my first time here - Once we arrived we discovered that the Sangrias were in special, so we changed our minds and ordered Sangria instead. They were OK - nothing special. Ended up ordering the flan and banana (plantain) spilt for dessert. Again, they were ok - actually I didn't care for the flan, but the plantain split was good. The atmosphere was fun, although the music was very loud that I found myself having to ask the others with me to repeat themselves. Wished it were warmer and maybe the patio wouldn't have as loud of music. The wait staff were all so super friendly, but also super slow, especially on a night where it wasn't super busy. I would probably go back to try the actual food, but I'm not in a rush to do so.
google avatar

Mary R.

Yelp
If you like arepas, this is your place. You can go simple or complex depending on your pallet. The sauces that come with the meals can change up the taste with each bite if you like. The yuca fries and tostones are awesome sides. And if you want to be totally glutinous, the cheesy corn appetizer was awesome. The back patio is even open and heated in the winter months which is great for space, but it is an enclosed patio, so maybe dress a little warmer if you're planning to sit there. Parking is a little tricky, like most Lakewood restaurants, but this place is worth it.
google avatar

Amanda G.

Yelp
I have been to this location a few times and always enjoy it. The service is always friendly and the staff is helpful if you have questions. The food is delicious. I have enjoyed both arepas that I have tried as well as the things I have sampled from my friends plates! Yucca fries are especially delicious. The cocktails are fun as well. The only drawback for me, is the noise level. The restaurant seems to be designed to feel loud and it does, even without a lot of people inside. But, sitting outside when the weather was nice did seem to help with that some. Otherwise, I definitely recommend this place and I am sure I will continue to keep going back.
google avatar

Stephanie L.

Yelp
A very cool and vibe-y place. Still wondering about the cheese grater hanging from the ceiling... the only of it's kind. Our food was awesome. I loved my plantains and my tacos. Guacamole was on point. My margarita was fine but I felt like it was a bit more sugar than tequila. We also tried out the beer they had on tap -- they serve beer from the only / first (?) latin owned brewery in Ohio. OH and try the sauces. So good. Our waitress was great and super helpful. We'd love to come back if we're in town.

Yelp
PHOTOS of the food that we ordered is attached below. I finally visited this Columbian restaurant in early March 2022 for an impromptu dinner with my 2 friends. It was a perfect night where everyone was surprisingly available to meet which never seems to happen these days with all our busy lives. So this is your friendly reminder to cherish your time with your friends. DECOR/SERVICE -- A warm and colourful environment with bright lights and a wall engraved with a colourful 'Barroco' sign for those who want some Instagram photos. The ceilings are low and it feels as if you are in a basement but the restaurant is actually a decent size that expands towards the back. FOOD -- I ordered the Sancocho' ($16) which is described on the menu as Latin plantain, potato, & yuca stew with chicken and fried egg, served with rice and avocado. I didn't realize this dish was a South American staple because my friend from the Dominican Republic later told me that her mother makes this all the time. I enjoyed the Sancocho a lot because it is a very hearty (full) meal. It is more than a soup or broth and rather a packed main dish. The potatoes and chicken gave the soup dish a nice chewy texture. The avocado was not ripe enough so that was the only downfall. My friend ordered the Chicken Skewer ($26) which came with a side of salad. He liked his meal but he got less food (small portion side) than I did but he paid $10 more. It was nothing spectacular. If you are looking for a warm and fulfilling dinner then I suggest the Sancocho. DRINKS - My 2nd friend ordered a Pina Colada drink but without the alcohol. She loved the drink which appeared to be made with coconut milk. None of us are alcohol drinkers so it was nice that the restaurant was able to modify the drink without alcohol. Overall, I can't wait to come back to Barroco in Lakewood. Funny, as I was leaving, I ran into a friend from Cuba so it appears that all Latin Americans come to Barroco. This is a popular spot! **** - 28/150 total reviews in 2022 - 506 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 24 March 2022

Yelp
I came here a couple years ago and finally had the chance to come back, and safe to say the quality is still unmatched to this day! The serving sizes are massive and you definitely get your money's worth. On top of that, the food is incredible and incredibly flavorful. We were seated outside and I have to say it was definitely the move as the decor, music and weather was perfect. Overall, loved this place and will definitely be returning!
google avatar

Becky T.

Yelp
The service is great because of Daniel and the food was great due to an amazing mix of Latino flavors that I've never had before particularly in in Cleveland. Life is good today pass it on.

Yelp
This is our 2nd time here. We don't live local. Last time we came was 6 years ago. The first time everything was delicious and we were excited to come back. This time everything was ok but we probably won't return when we're in town. We always gauge restaurants by "would we make the drive to come back" and sadly the answer is probably no. If we were local we'd probably come back and try a few more things to find our tried & true favorites.

Yelp
Went for lunch with 8 other ladies and the food was awesome. The menu had a great variety including a brunch menu. The restaurant was decorated and the Service was great . I will be back in the near future

Yelp
I've never had arepa's before...and I'm sad I've never had them sooner!! First off, the interior of Barroco is very cute! They have a heated outdoor space with a cute area for the perfect insta-style pic. Food was amazing, and very filling! We got Guac and Queso for appetizers and they were delicious. I've never had tostones before (came with the guac) and it was very good! I had the La Reina (chicken arepa with guac, feta, red peppers and mozzarella cheese) with the side of tostones. The server brought us a variety of sauces to use for our food and it was fun to mix and match. For dessert we ordered 2 different types of flan--Caramel Custard (which I believe is the original flavor?), and a chocolate flan. They were both very rich in texture but not too sweet and overall delicious! This place is a good place for a girls night out--or a date night!

Mike B.

Yelp
Terrible service. Waited an hour for food before finally leaving. Place was not busy. Avoid at all costs.

Yelp
I have been to Barroco a couple times and have loved it each time! The arepas are delicious -- I especially like La Sucia -- and I love their selection of sauces at the table. My side salad was okay but my friends enjoyed the tostones. I also had a piña colada which I thought was very tasty as well. The staff were so friendly, and I recommend taking a complimentary tequila shot in a lime in the front to spice up the night!

Yelp
Incredible Colombian food with a great atmosphere. I came here a few weeks ago for my friend's birthday, and upon coming in we were actually greeted with a round of tequila shots on the house (each packed in a lime, which was awesome). Barroco is definitely known for its arepas - a few of my friends ordered them and confirmed that they lived up to the hype. I decided to go for the Birria tacos, and they didn't disappoint either. When my plate initially came out the portion sizes did seem a little small, but they pack a lot of contents into the tacos and it ended up being more than filling. The tacos are a little dry on their own, but the sauce added on the side more than accounts for it. For drinks, my table ordered two pitchers of mojitos. These do run on the more expensive side, but there was more than enough to go around (for 4-5 people per pitcher). They also come with a stick of sugarcane in case you're looking for a little more sweetness. Service was fantastic. The servers were friendly and attentive, and joked around with us as well when my group was being slow with ordering. It seemed like they were enjoying themselves, which is always a good sign.

Yelp
My steak was flavorless, dry and way over cooked. Small portions, large price. Definitely not worth it. The waitress kept calling me lady, it was weird.

Yelp
I came here for my birthday. It was my first time ever trying Colombian food, so I was hoping for a good experience considering that Barroco has a ton of reviews for a small suburb off of Cleveland. I left disappointed by the portion sizes for the amount I paid for though. I had an arepa just like the rest of the table I was with. The portion sizes are too small for the amount I paid for. A couple of slices of avocados, rice, and meat? Plus soup that tasted like dish soap. It's a rip off. If I see multiple blank spots on the plate that is not covered with food that means that I'm not getting enough food. I left the restaurant still feeling hungry. Our table also ordered two pitchers of margaritas. We got a classic flavor and a cucumber jalapeno flavored margarita that wasn't listed on the menu. The margaritas were excellent. Especially the cucumber jalapeno flavored one. Two pitchers of margaritas cost about $100, which is a fine amount for two pitchers. I wish I could say the same for the food.

Yelp
We went here at 6:30 Friday evening. We were immediately greeted in a friendly and kind manner. As we were heading to our seat we were offered a smidge of tequila in a very chilled line wedge. We were brought to our seats and immediately given our menus. The surrounding Atmosphere is amazing, colorful and full of life. The table was very wobbly but our server took care of it. Our chairs were very narrow and not intended for a well rounded derrière. Still, our waitress was funny, helpful, and vibrant. So I would absolutely attest to the service being awesome. We had two drinks (each) which were amazing... expensive for their size, but amazing. The food was, conceptually, very good; the presentation was interesting; the taste, largely very nice w some inconsistent issues. My dish, a spicy Arepa, was in a corn ... pita, for lack of a better term. The food inside "wrap" was delicious but the corn wrap was inconsistent, thick and almost doughy in parts, and not overly flavorful. Bonnie's steak was so loaded with gristle it left parts of it inedible (unless you're into eating fat and gristle which I know some people are; we are not). Please believe me this has not soured our desire to return. The night was lovely, the staff endearing, and the menu shows promise of much more to come. Mexicana Arepa

Yelp
We visited the Cleveland area for one night, and I spent hours on Yelp choosing where we would have our anniversary dinner. So so happy with this choice! Amazing food, great service, great atmosphere. It was my first time having chimichurri and I have dreaming about it since. Would love to come back!

Yelp
Short Review: I would highly recommend Barroco to anyone living, visiting, or just passing by the Cleveland area. This restaurant has terrific food and drinks that were filled with flavor and elegantly prepared. The vibes were fun! Long Review: I went to Barroco with a group of friends for a birthday party. Upon entering, the staff greeted all of us with a tequila shot in a pitted lime. It started the experience on a positive note that opened the door to a wonderful dining experience. The food was great. We each ordered different parts of the menu. I shared this large meat and veggie platter with a couple of my friends. The meat was tender and the flavoring of the entire dish was amazing. Not too salty. Not too spicy. Just right. I would also recommend the arepas. I've had them previously and each one was fantastic. You can't go wrong with any of them. The drinks were another splendid edition to the restaurant. I loved the flavor that it brought to the entire dinner. They had great taste with a good amount of alcohol. Finally, the ambiance. If you are looking for a quiet date spot with your partner, this is not it! It's a party in there and everyone is laughing and sometimes they have live music. It can get pretty loud so be prepared but that's part of the restaurant! I hope you do come here 10/10!

Yelp
Oh my goodness, what a fun place. When you walk in you are greeted with a free shot of tequila and a little hollowed out lime wedge. We sat in the back in the porch area near the music, and the music was upbeat and fantastic. I wish there was a dance floor! We had the Arepas, of course, which were delicious and huge; I couldn't finish mine. I loved trying all the sauces on the table and having the freedom to smear multiple combinations over my Arepas at will. The drinks are no joke: very strong! After my first Caipirinha, I felt a little tipsy, but I powered through and got the traditional Mojito, which was ginormous and served in a wooden bowl. I can't wait to come back!
