Lovely old pub vibe and style. All the food was great and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Had vego/vegan options too. There were also lunch specials available. Definitely recommended.

I had a delicious lunch and great service at this pub. The building itself is a classic 1930's art deco pub. The Foyer and Dining room exude old world charm. Take note of the reception counter. staircase and original 1930 chairs in the foyer - magnificent. It's rare to see the original building and furnishings intact - a rare find. I met the owner who is a gentleman. It is great to see that he has preserved the integrity of this great architectural masterpiece. He is a man of decency who said NO to pokies, a rare thing indeed. Great credit to him for maintaining this wonderful pub. I am disturbed to read a very savage review from a person who identifies as a 'white', and who claims to have been discriminated against by being served drinks in a plastic cup. This was certainly not my experience. My drinks were served in a glass as were those of everyone around me. I also note that most reviews here are overwhelmingly positive. Make sure you visit this pub if you are in Atherton.

Visiting from out of town. Stopped in for dinner and Yum! Well priced food and super friendly service. There are plenty of tables. The food was delicious 😋

I've not eaten here yet, so my thinking might change BUT it's a beautiful example of 1950s retro style and one can only imagine what it would have been like in its heyday. If your into retro style do yourself a favour, go n have a drink in the lounge or bar and enjoy!

Great food at good price on the lunch specials board. Friendly staff and lots of amazing history of the pub and it's family for last hundred years. Really loved the old building. Has character and charm. The current Nesser family member(Michael)running the pub stopped to have a good long chat with us. A very nice informative bloke. I will definitely be going back for the Wednesday special of 250gm rib fillet with salad and chips and gravey choice for just $22. Wow. The tourists from down south must be gob smacked at that lunch for that price. Well done Michael and friendly staff. From bradd and wendy

I can only comment on the service received at the Sports Bar. I just popped in to see if Guinness was available on tap....pleasantly surprised that it was. Zoe, the young lovely Irish barmaid knows how to pour a pint too! Imagine my delight when I was charged $12.50 for my order. Local workers were sat at the bar but Zoe still found time to talk to me.....when delivering the 2nd & 3rd pints! Thank goodness that my bettter half had the car keys.

Top quality food for great prices. Also the atmosphere of the hotel is great as there is a lot of history, starting with the founders of the hotel through to the current owners. Would highly recommend.

What an awesome place. Just like going back in time to the 1930's. The interior is all art Deco and in great condition. The food the first time was fantastic but the $39 eye fillet was full of sinue.

Yelp
This building is full of great stories and loads of older touches that harken to it's heyday. While it has fallen a bit on hard times a lot of the interior unique charm remains. The downstairs entrance is quite welcoming, and the wooden staircase is elegant, but has seen better days. The attached diner-style restaurant is a great classic setup with just a few modern conveniences. For those that enjoy a bit of nostalgia in their travels this Hotel more than fits the bill. If you find yourself in the Tableland I highly recommend checking this place out.

Yelp
Lovely hotel, food was amazing, very generous servings, reasonably priced. Very busy though (must be because it was so good)
