Google
Love the food and drinks here. Not many places left where you can still get a $2.75 chicken taco, and it’s one of my favorites. Also love the Baja fish taco, and pork belly tacos. I don’t drink, and the aqua frescas are always yummy, grapefruit one is my favorite. Main criticism is the chips for the quac, not my fave.

Google
The atmosphere was great the tacos were incredibly delicious. Lindsay was very attentive many thanks to her. We'll be in Colorado for a while longer and will definitely come back a few more times.

My son was getting married in Boulder so I organized a dinner for the night before the wedding. The location was great; in the heart of Pearl Street and the atmosphere in the restaurant was great as well, people laughing and enjoying themselves. I had stopped by the restaurant the night before the dinner and asked if I could have my party in the front of the restaurant instead of the back and they were kind enough to make it happen! The night of the party Jay the manager was very pleasant and helpful. Andrew was our server and he was very attentive and did a great job. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 was due to the lack of willingness of the other manager to work with me and adjust the pricing according to the number of guests changing with notice given in a timely manner! Despite that incident I would still recommend this restaurant.

Google
By far some of my favorite food and atmosphere of all time! Service was amazing, food came at record speed, and the food was amazing. Thank you Bartaco for the best night!

Google
So happy to have tried Bar Taco in Boulder. A great atmosphere matched by the staff and the two managers we met, Kate and Jay. Food was awesome and the drinks matched the food. If you haven't been to Bar Taco yet, you need to go.

Google
Bartaco in Colorado is a great spot for casual dining with a fun, laid-back vibe. The tacos are fresh, flavorful, and come in a variety of creative options. The service is friendly and quick. Great place for a night out with friends or a casual date.

Google
Wonderful experience! We started with the passion fruit margarita at the bar while we waited, wow! Amazing and complex flavors and mouthfeel. We ordered so many types of tacos and the pork belly and sesame ribeye came out on top! All of the tacos were wonderful but if you have a limited appetite, I highly recommend these two. Richard was attentive and friendly and we would absolutely come back next time we come up to Boulder!

Google
I recommend that you do NOT go on Friday night before a football game as we did on 10/10. Our wait was more than 30 minutes longer than we were told. Not fun for a disabled veteran with 2 young grandchildren in tow even with their parents to help. It was very noisy. I had to turn off my hearing aids (thank you 5” guns) to be somewhat comfortable. The Bose speaker facing us didn’t help. Normal was in the 93 db but peaking at 100. The tacos are smallish. After guacamole and corn I had 4 pork tacos and wasn’t full.

Yelp
Love it here!! The tacos are excellent and the service is wonderful too. Savannah was especially kind as our server out on the beautiful patio!

Yelp
I was between 3 and 4 stars so call this 3.5. Food was a 3 but service was a 5. Totally fast and efficient. We loved the pork belly taco the best and we crushed two large guacamoles. Ahi taco was a drippy mess on a bib lettuce leaf and the steak and shrimp were dry and hard to chew. Not much food for the price so be prepared to spend a bunch and still be hungry. We got Ropasado margarita which were good but half the size they should be. Clean and open dining room so great for groups.

Yelp
Having been to several Bartaco locations in Miami, it was a pleasant surprise to see this location in Boulder. Our party of five was seated on the patio area, which provided an opportunity to enjoy the people watching and sunny weather. The margaritas were fresh and flavorful, and the cold beer selections were plentiful on a warm day. The tri-dips and chips offer a nice variety of flavors, and the street corn is always my favorite along with the fresh guacamole. Plenty of taco options, but my favorites are the pork belly and fish tacos. Overall, the experience at Bartaco in Boulder was wonderful. The food was delicious, the drinks were refreshing, and the patio setting was perfect. I definitely recommend Bartaco and if you are in the area, make your way there. Enjoy!

Yelp
The hostess Sasha was an angel! She was so sweet and made sure to get us in as soon as she could. Will be coming back!

Yelp
The duck birria with broth was too salty and honestly couldn't taste the duck at all. The fish taco is pretty small but had good crunch. I really enjoyed the sesame ribeye taco with the kimchi on top, it was a perfect blend of flavors and they gave a generous amount of filling on the taco. The limes are super tiny and the order placement system they have (ordering through your phone) is so glitchy and annoying. The servers are good at stopping by your table often so I don't think the ordering via QR code individually/by group is necessary.

Yelp
This is a modern Mexican restaurant, but feels geared towards the college crowd. We didn't love the phone mobile ordering, though I see how it can be useful for large groups. I would have much rather been offered the options to order with the waitress or use our phones. I prefer paper menus rather than having to navigate through an unfamiliar website/app. Our waitress really only came only after we placed an order on our phone. Chips were served as large tortilla rounds (odd), the salsa could have had more flavor. This wasn't our vibe, but can see how it may be appealing for a younger crowd/large group.

Yelp
I've been a regular since they opened in the fall of 2017, even getting takeout during the pandemic. So I was excited to see a new set of specials of very new happy hour items. The caveat was that the specials needed to be ordered and served at the bar. The bar seating is not accessible for some people, obviously not for a wheel chair patron and not even for me. It has high top seating with tall backless stools. I am well under 5' and vision impaired. I could not do this, so trusting the local staff and company reputation, I asked for an accommodation to a regular level seating. They agreed it was fair and handled with the special menu. A bonus star for gracefully removing the obstacle. All the new items were terrific and the bar looks like fun so all should give it a try. My husband and both loved the shrimp mariscos in cute little glasses rimmed with salty spices. My favorite of all was the tuna tartare on crispy rice. My husband's favorite was the chicken flauta. I had part of the second one and loved the tortilla prep, sauce and spiced but though the chicken was nicely cooked, it's not my favorite meat having eaten far too much in my childhood in a chicken farm. The mini pork belly sope was excellent too. They are very well priced and we ate a total of 9 between us. My husband enjoyed his beer and I enjoyed my wine. We also ordered a favorite dessert of the last that we had skipped for a while because a few years ago, someone had altered the recipe. But it appears that the Key Lime Pie in a jar is back to original, with the correct proportions of creamy top, key lime custard and graham cracker base. Do try it. They have never brought back my original favorite which was a chocolate chile budino in a jar with the cream top. Still hoping some day they do as the chocolate was such high quality. Do know that when you are seated here you do not need to use the QR code system still visible on the tabletops invented for use during the pandemic. The paper menus are on the table as well as the signal cards for service. It is a group team effort here and whoever sees the card first and is available, will show up and help you. For large groups each paying singly the system of QR code can work well. We hope that some of these new special items will eventually work their way onto the regular menu. But until then, sit at the fun bar and try them out!

Yelp
1st time here and definitely like the concept of ordering food with your phone. It was easy to set up using your phone. Once you are done, it was a breeze ordering from the table. Our first order came out very quickly. Super fast! Perfect place to hang out with friends, split the cost, order small portioned food as many times without having to flag down the servers. Repeat!

Yelp
Very nice outdoor space. We ordered a variety of tacos and everything was delicious. Portions were small but being able to get a range of flavors that included tasty vegetarian options was a real treat. Friendly service to boot.

Yelp
Best restaurant in Boulder! healthy. I like the corn. rice with grilled fish, and chicken soup... Great service as well.

Yelp
I really just don't even know where to start. I was absolutely impressed by this place. From the moment we walked in, we were both ranting and raving about how cute the decor was and the amazing vibes that the place gave off. We started with a Paloma Fresca & a purple haze. Very appreciative that they had a spiritless option for non drinkers! The drinks weren't anything too special, but they were tasty and looked nice. Moving on to the food, we tried to small trio appetizer which included two salsas and a guacamole. Pretty tasty start to the meal. After that arrived the 6 tacos we decided on- Pistachio Cauliflower, sesame Rib eye, Chicken Verde, Mushroom, falafel, and glazed pork belly. Every single one was so flavorful and so well plated. The business model is a little unique with service mostly only being when you request it or need something. However, they were still very attentive and quick to respond when asked. Kudos to a great meal- I can't wait to return!

Yelp
Food was ordered using a QR code. One of the managers named Yanni seated us on the huge shaded patio which was full at lunchtime. Other than that we had little staff interaction aside from an explanation of the menu. We ordered guac and red salsa and a stack of crispy tortillas that came out right away. The rojo salsa was spicy and sour, but I didn't love the flavor or texture, however the guacamole was fresh and delicious and the tostadas were crispy and a fun novelty. My husband loved his fresh made margarita. A rice bowl with Korean ribeye was good, but 90% rice, a little disappointing. We also had pork belly, duck, verde chicken, shrimp and ribeye tacos, lots of Asian and Mexican flavors, all tasty, but heavy on the acid and garlic. We enjoyed a pleasant lunch on Pearl Street in Boulder with our "CU Buff" daughter and her boyfriend. The atmosphere is beautiful inside and out and the food tastes fresh.

Yelp
Came for dinner. Place was busy which is always a good sign. Had to wait 30-40 minutes for a table, but that was no big deal. There were 4 of us in our party. There was a single menu on the table. Apparently, if you move the silverware container, there is a QR code on the table. Ok The app was not quick and easy to use. The person paying the bill had to provide a phone number, enter a security code and credit card before displaying a menu. Not happy about that because I am already receiving text from them to rate the restaurant. No. I use Yelp! We finally got our order in. We ordered the larger size tri dip and chips, They gave us 5 4-5 inch round chips. With 4 of us at the table, that didn't work. They provided no napkins, and no plates. When they brought the drinks, my Diet Coke came in a can. No glass, no straw. We asked for more chips and a straw for my can of Coke The children's meals came out fast. But the taco was very small. Much smaller than anticipated. The adult meals took a long time. I personally do not like children's meals to arrive 15 minutes before the adults. We finally were served our tacos, but all came on a single tray. Tacos are messy, we can't all eat off the same tray. So we had to wait for our server to bring more trays. The food was good, but very tiny portions. See pics for example. Would try another place next time. Just was not impressed.

Yelp
The mahi tuna bowl was delicious but everything else missed the mark. The tacos were cold, the pineapple and corn in the kids meal had rotten spots. Overall the food was a 3/5 but the service brought the rating down one more star. There were about 10 servers standing around while we waited for anyone to come to our table. They use a QR code so a server isn't really needed only to tell you that you order that way.

Yelp
This is a fun and lively taco bar located in Downtown Boulder. It's definitely a fun spot especially with the vibes. They offer a huge variety of tacos from vegetarian options to seafood and proteins. I like that they have different sauces at the table with different spice levels. You also order via QR code here which is very efficient. We got the chips and guac and a large variety of tacos. The chips and guac were tasty as all the ingredients were fresh. The chips came out in tortilla rounds. I would say all their tacos are pretty good, some have more of a spicier kick than others. I remember their shrimp being really spicy like my mouth was burning for a good ten minutes after, LOL. I also enjoyed the pork belly. The service here was good, and the servers were friendly. They checked up on us often and always had a huge smile on their faces. I would definitely come back here especially for Happy Hour. Not sure if they have a happy hour menu, but it would be a fun place to come for a happy hour LOL

Yelp
The staff was great. The food was good. The logistics of bringing out the food is where things got weird. We had a group of 7 and everyone ordered the lunch trays, which was 3 tacos and a salad or soup served on a tray. They started bringing out the first ones with a salad and two tacos on a tray then the third taco on a tray of its own. The table was not big enough for that. Then they start bringing out random salads and tacos one at a time and everyone gets confused. It was chaos. If everyone had just got a single tray with all their items it would have been much better. The app was a nice to have so everyone could order separately. Bartaco corporate should make the app have a better user experience but that isn't Boulder's fault.

Yelp
Bartaco had amazing service. Lindsay was so sweet and made the dinner amazing. Highly recommend this location. Great ambiance and vibes.

Yelp
Love Bartaco! This was the best place I visited in Boulder. After a disappointing walk down Pearl Street being accosted by homeless people and witnessing a dude speaking to himself as he shook uncontrollably, I ended up here. This saved the trip. Don't let the randos frighten you away. This place is awesome. First, I have to give a shout out to the staff. From the hostess to the server to the manager. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and great representatives of this restaurant Ordering is done via scanning a QR code at the table. This is incredibly easy and something I wish more restaurants would go to. You can close your tab or keep it open once you make your first order. I strongly recommend keeping it open as you will want more after your first bite. Easy ordering and paying the tab is great but not at the expense of poor food. Well, the food here is even better than the ordering experience. Extra points for being able to make everything a lettuce wrap if you are trying to cut carbs. It justifies the street corn carbs that you absolutely, without a doubt, must order. Get out of your comfort zone when you order. You will not be disappointed. Duck tacos? Never had it but damn it was good. Pork tacos? Yes, please. There was nothing that was not absolutely amazing. Pro tip: Buy some rocks glasses with their logo. They are cheap, cute, and perfect for a bourbon back home.

Yelp
Waited super long but that's beside the point we ordered our food and when it came it was all so Flavorlesss!!! Guacamole was just avocado... ordered tacos all were so flavorless. Drinks were good tho and atmosphere is great but this place is below mid.

Yelp
Tapas style. Everything tasted fresh and the service was attentive and friendly. Outdoor seating is lovely, definitely recommend for gluten free people !

LORI K.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went to this location tonight. There was no wait and when we requested an outdoor table, we were accommodated quickly. After being seated, we saw multiple tables seated around us. As we waited for attention, we saw that the other tables were being brought water and had orders taken. My boyfriend went up and asked if we could have some water, in fact his words were, "I'm not sure if anyone can see us". Water was brought promptly after that and our order was taken. We sat for another 10-15 minutes as we watched all of the other tables being served. We also saw a lot of confusion within the serving staff. It seemed as though they weren't sure which drinks and food went to which table. After our neighboring table had finished their appetizers, we decided to leave since we were hungry and had received nothing but the requested water. Would not recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
The customer service is amazing, Neo was so great! The food is amazing and the environment is great!

Yelp
Always quick service, food is flavorful with a wide menu. Great atmosphere for friends, family or just drinks at the bar! Tatum is always amazing, bartenders too!

Yelp
Solid spot to grab tacos in downtown Boulder. Had to wait a little while to be seated, but it was a Friday night and the restaurant is situated on the main drag, so it was to be expected. Ordered the large trio (guac, red and green salsa, large round chips) to share. Guac was good and zesty, red and green salsa were spicy but in different ways (red was thicker, green was lighter), and the round chips were fun to break apart. Ordered four tacos: the Baja fish, glazed pork belly, roasted duck, and slow roasted pork. I'd recommend ordering at least three tacos, because there are on the smaller size. You could easily put one down in two bites. I liked the sweet glaze and crispiness of the pork belly, the light fry of the Baja fish, and the juiciness of the slow roasted pork. I forgot what the roasted duck tasted like. If you're looking for a hip spot to grab some tacos in Boulder, bartaco is worth checking out.
google avatar

Savanah L.

Yelp
This place was amazing. I had a taco craving that was sadly unfulfilled in Denver and our Uber driver recommended this joint. It did not disappoint! Our favorite tacos were the chorizo and pork belly - with a little bit of the house salsa it was unbelievably tasty. The ambiance was also beautiful and cool. Service was 10/10 Food was 10/10. I will 100% be back here! (OH and the spicy marg was the best I've had)
google avatar

Yelp
First, if you're going to complain about this not being authentic Mexican tacos, just stop it. Look at the place. This is not high-end, but it is most definitely hipster-end. Not a little family run taqueria. Then look at the menu, which you will scan into your phone. It doesn't take a cultural anthropologist to figure out that no one's abuela is back in the kitchen, fixing glazed pork belly, falafel, and duck tacos. They have a great tuna rice bowl that makes a fairly healthy lunch feel decadent. Super fresh tuna. The tacos are also very good. Get a bunch to share. Shrimp was very spicy but tasty. Roast duck was rich with a tamarind glaze, and the pork belly was the crowd favorite. Our crowd included a couple of sixty-somethings who were perfectly comfortable. So it's not *that* hipster. Introverts will appreciate the online ordering set-up. So will groups that decide to add on more drinks and tacos as the meal progresses. You just add items to your cart and check out when you're finished. We were there for a weekday lunch. They were fairly busy but not slammed. The manager was our server and was very attentive to whether everyone was comfortable with the ordering process. Pretty much the only times I eat at chain restaurants is when I don't know they're a chain until after the meal. This was one of those times. It is a small chain and definitely a better chain than most.

Alice H.

Yelp
I love this restaurant!! The tacos are DELECTABLE, and Neo, one of our servers, was so nice and he has super cool hair!
google avatar

Patty T.

Yelp
The tacos we shared were very fresh and tasty. I liked the salsas served with the chips. The margaritas were good but were small, served in whiskey tumblers and very expensive. The service was great and the ambiance is very active and noisy, but in a good way.
google avatar

Julia I.

Yelp
The tacos were very yummy! I had two verde chicken tacos which were phenomenal and the falafel taco which was not (mostly because I am not a fan a tzatziki sauce). I recommend getting 3 tacos (four if you are starving). The red salsa they have is very interesting, it has a nice flavor base and is actually quite thick , but soooo spicy (too spicy for me!) The chips are actually whole corn tortillas that you break apart. We had the churros which were quite crunchy on the outside (I prefer mine softer) but the dipping sauces were superb (semisweet chocolate and a vanilla icing). The cherry margarita was good, though I recommend hitting up happy hour to knock down its price. The place is very nice and the lighting really stands out at night. The service was good.
google avatar

Dylan C.

Yelp
Food is wonderful and our server what the sweetest person on the planet. Shout-out to Jordan Z! You were the reason we left 5 stars.
google avatar

Joe K.

Yelp
Food, service, atmosphere, and staff was all excellent! Highly recommend this place! Get the chicken verde tacos and the slow roasted pork tacos, along with the guac, salsa verde, and salsa roja trio. Beware: margaritas are strong.
google avatar

Renee B.

Yelp
We had a pleasant lunch here in downtown boulder. The agua frescas and margarita were both delicious. The guacamole and salsas were so fresh and yummy. I loved both salsas!! The cauliflower taco wasn't great, but the kale salad and plantains were both delicious. I'd come here again.
google avatar

Samantha G.

Yelp
Delicious food! We got the pork belly tacos and fish tacos- both were great. We got plantains, corn, salsa/guacamole/chips as well and everything tasted great. We were a party of 10 and they accommodated nicely- just make sure you get on the wait list.
google avatar

Leilani P.

Yelp
ACO On October 5, myself and 2 friends (all Asian American) and my dog attempted to go to dinner here. There were clearly open tables on the patio, which assumed that's where the dog-friendly area was. The host requested to be patient and that they were waiting for people to check into their reservation. After nearly 20 minutes, the host had not informed us of any updates so we checked and he said it was another 30 minutes while there were open tables. While we're hoping this isn't the case, we couldn't help to think this decision was race influenced since we were the only people of color there. Other people also without a reservation were able to walk in.

Katy B.

Yelp
The tacos here were amazing! My husband tried three different tacos, and I tried two others. The lobster tacos were unreal - absolutely delicious. They are street tacos, so they're on the smaller side, but that gives you a chance to try different tacos. Service was a tiny bit slow, but I know that practically every restaurant is understaffed, and we didn't mind since our server was friendly and helpful. The interior decor was pretty cool here too!
google avatar

Rain Bow T.

Yelp
Very impressed with this restaurant, right on the main street area of downtown boulder. A fusion modern Mexican style blend of great flavors, great options, and great hot sauce. I bought bottle to take home. Also is unique as you order through an app. A bit of a touristy style ordering scheme but the food was fab, so they definitely earned the five stars. Very friendly staff as well. they were super on top of missing/extra items we ordered and made sure we had a great dining experience.
google avatar

Yelp
Best tacos in the business. I always drop in this restaurant when I'm in town! Fast and efficient
google avatar

Kaden S.

Yelp
I like BarTaco my favorite is carne asada taco. Birria duck tacos also a fan favorite. Five Stars.

Daniel C.

Yelp
Louis, the manager, was absolutely stellar. He took care of me and my family like we were long time friends. The food was amazing and service top-notch.

David L.

Yelp
Hands down best food, drinks and service! Everything I always try is amazing! The street corn has something in it that's addictive and keeps me coming back

Yelp
We attended the Firefly Market in Oear Street this weekend and needed lunch. I have been to Bartaco for happy hour and this was my first lunch visit. What a delight! I ordered a cocktail I hadn't tried before, the summer caipirinha, and let the bar tender know I prefer my drinks more refreshing than sweet. He made it to perfection. My husband and I shared the "at the bar" menu of 3 tacos and gazpacho them ordered some plantains as these are my husband's favorite when done right. The tacos were all hot, fresh and delicious: chicken verde, mushroom and Baja fish. The gazpacho was good and also had a kick to it. The plantains were both sweet (but not too sweet) and spicy. Perfectly cooked and everything was amazing. If we weren't so full, we would have tried the churros for dessert. I guess we will have to go back!

Yelp
My phone was dead when I came here. Why is this important? Well, somebody in your group better have a working battery, because you'll be doing everything on your phone--menu, ordering, paying, all of it. Fortunately someone in my group did have a phone, so we made it work. But if you're tech adverse or your battery is dead, well... So anyway, on to the food. The food is amazing. I had a variety of tacos--pork belly, chorizo, and chili lime shrimp. All excellent. There were hot sauces available but I didn't bother because the tacos were so flavorful. My husband had a fish taco and a poke bowl. I also had plantains and street corn, both a delight, and ginger mint tea. I love that you get a whole carafe so you don't need to wait for a refill to wash down those deliciously spiced tacos. The only thing I wasn't blown away by was the tres leches cake; the flavor was good, but it was small and a little dry for the price. I'll definitely be back for more incredible tacos. The ambiance here is awesome and everything is very clean. What service we had was fine, but since you do most of it on your phone, the service is minimal.

Colin L.

Yelp
Great restaurant, great place for drinks and tacos! I come here all the time and it's always a great place, highly recommend. I had Richard as my server tonight and he did a great job, I will definitely continue to come to bartaco!
