Bastone Is the Latest West Midtown Restaurant to Close | Eater Atlanta

"A neighboring concept closed its West Midtown location shortly before the other recent shutdowns, with management saying the decision was driven by a choice not to renew the lease rather than an abrupt failure of the operation." - Henna Bakshi

Enjoyed our dinner at Bar Taco Hyde Park. Finally had the opportunity without the long wait. Grace was so attentive in taking care of us. Loved the decor and vibe. The tacos were really good and we also enjoyed the street corn appetizer. Had a kick to it. I ordered the mushroom taco, fish taco, shrimp taco and cauliflower taco on flour tortillas instead of corn. All were delicious. The mushroom taco was just really spicy 🌶️. If you can handle heat, it’s a great choice. My partner loved the Duck Tacos! Those were a hit! We will definitely return. Restaurant is perfectly located and the atmosphere is perfect!

Great time at Bar Taco this weekend. This is located in the central area of Hyde Park, so it does get very busy. They do have an inside and outside bar that is first come first serve. We found a seat at the outside bar on the railing, which by the way, was great people watching! To start off, their Margaritas are amazing. Everything is hand crafted fresh. They are even squeezing the limes to order. All the flavors are juices are made fresh too, you can tell the difference in the quality. Tacos are really good. About $3-5 per taco, about 3 should do! I did the shrimp, chicken, and the tuna poke (which came in a lettuce wrap). Guac was made fresh and delicious as well. Our bartender was friendly and attentive! Love Bar Taco!

Came here for a late dinner around 10:30. Great service from Ethan. He was prompt, friendly, and gave great recommendations! The pork belly taco was amazing and the guacamole and chips and tuna poke was awesome! Highly recommend. Good tacos, tasty margaritas, and great service. Thanks for a lovely evening

This place was great!!! Our server Skyla (or Skylar, sorry) was so attentive and friendly. The food was unbelievably tasty. Ibhad the fish and tuna fish taco. If we were to ever come back to Clearwater, we would not hesitate to return. Thanks for the friendly service!

Google
The tacos were OK I’m not a fan of writing out your order on paper as it defeats the purpose of going out to be served. I had one spicy margarita, the plantains, the cucumber salad, the steak taco, and the duck taco. Food runner served the plates to the wrong person and didn’t ask who ordered what. Felt rushed I was I was catching up with a friend at dinner.

Google
Bartaco was definitely a hit! This was my first time trying it, and I really enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere was laid-back and welcoming, and there was no wait when I arrived around 2:30 PM. My server, Miranda, was amazing, helpful, walked me through the menu, and even gave me a little souvenir to take home! Everyone was friendly, and the food was both delicious and reasonably priced. The esquites wasn’t my favorite, but the tacos and chips with guac were fantastic.

Google
The food and overall experience at the restaurant were absolutely amazing truly top-notch. However, I do have a severe dog allergy, and there was an untagged dog lying in the middle of the aisle while being fed at the table next to me. It created a safety concern for staff and guests and unfortunately made it difficult for me to enjoy the meal. Because of this, I likely won’t return unless I can sit outside, where pets should ideally be Just saying.

Yelp
Visited this Bartaco location for lunch and it was the perfect spot! We didn't have a reservation but we were seated pretty quickly after a short 10 min wait (party of 2). Bartaco has you order on the paper they give you and the food comes out as each dish is ready, not all together. We tried multiple different tacos, my favorite being the duck! The plantains were also delicious, especially with that dip!! Our waiter was very nice and friendly too. This location was also very well decorated and even has skylight windows, bringing in a lot of natural lighting. I'd come back!

Yelp
Fun, laid back place to grab a meal. This place was pretty busy on a Tuesday evening. Wait time was about 30 minutes so we walked around Hyde Park until they texted. We started with the ceviche, corn (not on the cob) and dips and guac. The guac was really good so I would definitely get it again. I also loved the corn, it was cheesy. I liked the ceviche too, so it was all a win. For tacos, we tried the tuna (which came on lettuce), ribeye and crispy shrimp. My coworkers tried the chorizo which they said was not good. I liked the ribeye and I was meh on the crispy shrimp and tuna. I'd try different ones next time. The drinks are where it is at. They say their juice is hand squeezed. I got the green margarita which has tequila, combier liqueru d'orange, agave syrup, lime juice and house made green juice. It was delicious and I felt healthy while drinking it. My second drink was a watermelon mint margarita. It was pretty sweet so I'm glad I didn't start with it, but still very delicious. I would drink both again. Overall I always enjoy going here. I think it's a great choice if you're in Hyde Park.

Yelp
I visited Bartaco on a girls day with a group of 6. We called ahead for a table because the location that we go to is so busy. We were seated within about 15 minutes on a busy Saturday afternoon. Most of us used the mobile order option to order our food and drinks. I got the Paloma which was okay. I have gotten it here in the past and I did not love it as much. I opted to not order food because I think the tacos are so ridiculously small. Others did and I gave those tacos the same side eye I always do. The service was good and the atmosphere is lively. I don't really pick this place to dine on my own but end up there with groups.

Yelp
Bar taco has great food at great prices! The service was top tier. Our waiter was very nice and helpful. The ambience was loud but we visited during busy lunch crowd. I will be back to try more menu items.

Yelp
We had an awesome dinner at the bartaco bar! All cocktails are made with fresh ingredients and delicious. The tacos are small (can fit in the palm of your hand) but you can sample a few different ones! Highly recommend the al pastor pork tacos which were delicious. We had great service at the bar, a great place to sit if you have a small party and can grab a seat. Otherwise you may be waiting an hour for a table so get there early!

Yelp
First time at bartaco and it lived up to the hype! We checked in online, but you still need to let the host know when you arrive. It was pretty busy, so we grabbed seats at the bar (first come, first served). The bartender was super quick to help us out. Ordering is done by checking off items on a paper menu--simple and fun. We started with the small guac and chips (more chips than guac), but the flavor was amazing! A little kick from the jalapeño, but just the right amount. Definitely getting the larger size next time. We had two vegetarian tacos and two fish tacos--the fish was small but packed with flavor, especially with the salsa. For drinks, we tried the watermelon and spicy margaritas. Both were made fresh right in front of us, and the watermelon one even came with a real fruit chunk--so refreshing! The vibe was great, music not too loud, and prices were very reasonable. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Bartaco in South Tampa - a 12/10 experience! Had the most delicious in-between-work lunch with a friend after grinding at Hyde House, and wow... this spot did NOT disappoint. We started with the sweet plantains and I'm not exaggerating when I say they were mouth. watering. Like... dreamy. Then came the tuna poke and guac + chips--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly done. I sipped on the ginger fresca (so light, so refreshing!) and honestly wanted to bottle it up and take it home. For tacos, we went in. Tried a bunch, but the duck and pork belly ones were NEXT LEVEL. Melt-in-your-mouth vibes. Also--huge shoutout to Cesar, our waiter! He was awesome, funny, and made the whole experience even better. Love when the service matches the food! Vibes were chill, food came out fast, and everything felt super intentional and flavorful. Bartaco, you've officially made my lunch breaks a little more dangerous... I'll be back!

Yelp
The tacos were full of flavor and everything came out pretty quickly for a dinner rush-hour on a Thursday evening. I loved the margaritas especially the watermelon margarita. The chips and guac were very good and I like how they came out with full tortillas. The tortillas were very well seasoned and they had a nice crunch with no greasey feel. I definitely want to come back and try the other tacos. The ambience is very lively and energetic.

Yelp
First time for me at a Bartaco & it's exactly what I need: veg options that are low in calories and minimally processed I had the med cauliflower bowl- the harissa carrots and hummus are very very good plus the Side salad of marinated cucumbers: perfect on a hot day- they leave the water decanter in the table The patio here is cute but so uncomfortable that you should sit anywhere else (the table is a very low coffee table that hits your shins in a cruel way and forces you to lean forward over your food for risk of spilling) Nice staff but you order from a QR code and it randomly comes out so you won't connect with any specific server - doesn't help with tips I'm sure but it's fine for me

Yelp
I really can't ever say enough Greta things about this place. I wish I had more pictures of the food this time. But the star of she show is there, the pork belly taco. It's their best one. Their salsas (try the green one) and guac are great. The plantains with that avocado dip is to die for. Your bill will add up quickly since the tacos are so small but not anything more than you would spend anywhere else in downtown Tampa. I take everyone that visits me where and everyone loves this order by taco concept and unique flavors

Yelp
I have to give BarTaco five stars. Beautiful location in Hyde Park, parking can be a bit tricky but it would be worth the headache lol. Once you get to the restaurant, they provide outdoor and inside seating. I love sitting outside to people watch. Also, the ambiance is nicely decorated. Great service is always a thing for me and I love the quality service the staff provides. My favorite is duck taco, cauliflower taco plantains and the street corn in a bowl! Enjoy!

Yelp
WELL...I think this place takes the cake (or should I say key lime pie) as to "Why don't I come here more often???" vibes. I've been to BarTaco before, and while great, I'm not often in the mood for tacos, so I went ahead and got something NOT tacos, and was rewarded rather handsomely with finding yet a new favorite eatery in Hyde Park. First off, the restaurant is open air and spacey, not to mention dog friendly, and with them being so welcoming with my little Muffin, I'll be sure to come back for more. And now with the food: For this meal, I went with the Duck Birria, the street corn, their key lime pie (in a mason jar) and their honey dew acqua fresca (because it nuclear hot day--'kay??). If you've been following my reviews, you would know that I LOVE birria. I LOVE duck. Duck birria??? Wow. This did not disappoint. Crispy outershell, tender duck, and thick n spicy dipping sauce (forgot the name) was perfection. I was glad it wasn't very big because it was hot and somehow I just can't eat as much when I'm hot. But man, that was good. Next I had the street corn. It had the right balance of spice and cream, (which I made even spicier by dumping some of the birria sauce on it) and really hit the spot, which is good because I really love corn. I wasn't sure if I was going to get drinks or desserts, because I didn't know how full I would be after the birria and corn--but I got dessert and I'm so glad I did! Their key lime pie (in a mason jar) was perfect, the sweet whipped cream making a great contrast to the key lime custard and graham cracker. Again, not an overwhelming size, so I was able to down the whole thing without feeling overly full. The aqua fresca was perfectly refreshing with just the right amount of sweetness to refresh and cool me off. Did I mention that the staff was TOTALLY on point? Everyone was great here, and I'm glad they were cool with me needing to walk away from my table a few times to walk Muffin. My server checked on me several times and was more than happy to add on my dessert to my order. On a side note... I just noticed that you can see nutrition info on the menu, which is nice if you're trying to eat reasonably, so I'll definitely be back even if not to indulge. Lots of healthy items on the menu. Taco may be on the name, but they're more than just tacos! (But I think when I'm in the mood, I'll get that, too).

Yelp
This is a great spot to sit outside, eat yummy tacos and enjoy yourself. Download the app so you can check in and save time in line. Service didn't give me warm and fuzzies but was prompt.
google avatar

Yelp
The best margaritas around! They freshly squeeze all juices making it super refreshing. We opted to sit at the bar (first come first serve) which is always a fun environment. You are able to join the waitlist online, but be sure to check-in once you arrive to the establishment to secure your spot. The ordering system is perfect for those who aren't very hungry & for those who came to eat! We ordered the small guac, which is a perfect snack. Mushroom & falafel tacos for vegetarian options. As well as the fish taco. All the tortillas held up well which is very important haha! They also have a half chicken and kids menu for those not interested in tacos. Would highly recommend for cocktails and/or food!

Yelp
Awesome Plave, the service the atmosphere really neat location and the food was amazing I have been back 5 times nothing I've had has not made me not want it again

Yelp
Everything I ordered was delicious. The flavors were amazing. I would go back again. The workers were wonderful. The service was fast. I didn't get a table because they were really busy on a Saturday night but I got a bar table and it was perfect.

Yelp
This is becoming one of my favorite places to eat while shopping and hanging out in Hyde Park. It's generally very busy ... we were seated in about 20-25 min ( they'll Text you when your table is ready). You can also enjoy drinks at the bar while waiting. Place has a really good vibe... I like the atmosphere. We had several people check on us while we were there. They have a decent selection of tacos. I had a ribeye, chicken and fish. They were all good but the ribeye was the best. We ordered a large guac and chips for the table ... wasn't that large in my opinion. Others in the party had bowls that they liked. They were out of Tito's vodka so I ordered Pearl. It's a fun place with good food, good vibe and good service and reasonable prices

Yelp
Carrie was the BEST server. Accommodated our large party with ease and kindly helped celebrate my best friend's birthday!
google avatar

Yelp
Poor service, not thrilled w menu being sold out of an item early in the day. And chopped salad with added chicken was missing ingredients... it was basically chopped lettuce and the added pulled tasteless chicken (3 small pulled pieces) with nothing else but salad dressing w some shredded carrots (and when notified server, he said he was going to address it and waited 15 minutes and nothing) overall, underwhelming... Not a fan.. not coming back!

Yelp
Foo at the bar was awesome! He schooled me- this is a gluten allergy haven for all. Nobody wants quesadillas and certain deserts anyway. The crispy oyster is GF and they only use tamari so if you are a celiac, you may want to come hither! If you haven't visited, it's a cool hangout-super sunshine during the day, good music at night. Everyone here is so sweet too, the service and the patrons (: Omg I almost forgot to mention the food!!!!! All of the tacos are fantastic- IF the brisket taco is home- order that!!!!! The crispy outer, the Baja fish, the pork belly, the mushroom, I mean- I haven't met a taco I don't love here. The street corn is so good too.

Yelp
I love bartaco, and when visiting Tampa for my bachelorette, it was a must that we go. We were expecting different food being in Florida, but all the bartaco menu options seemed to be the same, as the one we have back home in New York. We were not disappointed though, all of the food was just as good and made just the way we like it. Our waitress knew that it was my bachelorette party and she gave me a special drink. She made us feel so welcome and me so excited to be celebrating my bachelorette party with my friends. Out of all the restaurants we went to, she was one of only two who did us something special for my bachelorette party. So happy we were able to try this Bartaco in Tampa!!!

Yelp
Oh my goodness I can't say enough good about this place. The service was so attentive. The place is so clean and so happening and everybody look like they were having a great time. We had some amazing drinks here from Mojitos to margaritas. And need I say more of the tacos were ones that you definitely wanna come back too soon. We experienced the majority. We had chicken, steak, chorizo , pork belly, and fish. Everybody was 100% thumbs up. And I have to tell you some of the best guacamole in town.

Yelp
Bartaco is located in the posh yuppy Hyde Park district of South Tampa next to lululemon, Meat Market Steakhouse, & Buddy brew coffee. The ambiance of bartaco is kinda beachy and reminds me of Hollister with white wood walls out of 2 x 4s, light wood colored tables out of 2 x 4s from Home Depot, a U shaped bar large with liquor behind glass overhead compartments and retro alt rock playing including Franz Ferdinand. We went on a Monday and it was packed. There was no booth seating available and we had to sit at the bar. The bar stools were also made from wood 2 x 4s from Home Depot, and very uncomfortable and need cushions, need a back to the chairs, and some better finish. Unfortunately Service was very very slow. It took 10 minutes to get a menu, another 10 minutes to get a drink, another 10 minutes to get chips and guac, and another 50 minutes to get simple tacos and a rice bowl. Management needs to add cushions to the seating as it is very uncomfortable and looks like it was hand made w a saw as a diy project. The bar area only had 1 person working and 3 people cutting limes but more people should have been serving customers as service was too slow. The guac + verde salsa + roja small salsa 3 dip trio with chips for $14 was highway robbery. Most other restaurants offer 3 dips and chips for $6 and most taco spots offer unlimited complimentary chips and salsa but this place does not. For $14 we did not get a refill on any salsa or chips. The chips were not broken down and round tortilla shells and unsalted. Asked the server to salt the chips and it took her another 10 minutes to bring chips. The guac is a bit on the bland side, the verde green salsa is not bad, and the Roja red salsa is crazy spicy and too smoky for my taste. The bland unseasoned chips ruined this and the price is not a good value at all. 2/10 The glazed pork belly taco was crispy sweet and savory 10/10 The sesame ribeye had a nice flavor 9/10 The tuna tatako 8/10 The chile-lime shrimp was a bit of a let down on flavoring but I do love shrimp regardless 7/10 The roasted duck was a bit gamey but I'm never a fan of duck 6/10 The seared chorizo was a bit too oily 6/10 The spiced chicken verde bowl came with uncooked vegetables but should have had sautéed veggies, the chicken was on the bland side, and the bowl was way too small and not filling enough for 1 person if they're hungry. 4/10 The tacos at bartaco are way too small for the price and there is no bundle deal for 3 or 5 or 6 tacos so you have to spend over $20 to get full from tacos while at most other taco places you can just spend $6-$10. The seating at bartaco needs padding as it is very very uncomfortable. Bartaco kitchen needs to churn out tacos a little faster than 50-60 minutes. The only reason this place is busy I suspect is because of all the people living right next to there that don't want to drive 8-10 minutes down the street for green lemons superior tacos. If you're in the south tampa area, I don't recommend Bartaco but I do recommend green lemons superior tacos, taco dirty, or Miguelitos for tacos.

Yelp
Recently went to bar taco and it was a good time, management and staff were so sweet and the food was really good per usual. I love the ambiance and everything is priced perfectly. Great spot

M S.

Yelp
If you are in the area, you definitely need to stop here. The food is so good and the guacamole is off the chart amazing. The service is good, but these people are always busy so folks need to be patient and when we were there they were. Everybody was having such a good time. This place did not disappoint from the moment you walked in the door to the moment you leave. We'll definitely be back. Hopefully they open one in Punta Gorda.

Yelp
Bar Taco is one of my go-to spots in Hyde Park. The food is fresh, the vibe is relaxed, and the prices are fair--especially for the area. My only real gripe is that they don't take reservations, so you're usually looking at an hour wait during peak times. That said, once you're seated, it never feels too crowded or overwhelming. Definitely worth the wait when you're in the mood for good tacos and chill atmosphere.
google avatar

Danelle D.

Yelp
I have probably walked past bar taco 100 times in Hyde park and that is a true shame because I popped in tonight for tacos and tequila and they surpassed my expectations by far! I sat at the bar because it was pretty busy, for a Wednesday. The Baja fish and pork belly are the stars on the menu for sure! The spicy cucumber salad was also really yummy. I also enjoyed the regular margarita. It was just right. I heard I should've gotten it spicy to take it up a notch. All in all I'd give it a solid 8.5/10
google avatar

Tan H.

Yelp
The ambiance is nice for date night, tacos were on pricier side but good. We liked the guac and chills and margaritas.
google avatar

Caridad S.

Yelp
NEVER AGAIN. Not only was the wait 1 hour to be seated, then it took another hour for the food to arrive and we paid $4-$5 per taco and got like a teaspoon of filling in each. The fish in my fish taco literally looked like a small shrimp and half of that was batter. I could not believe that they put about a TEASPOON of slaw in them! The steak taco had a ton of kimchi but a tiny bit of shaved steak.

Yelp
This is my first time to bartaco in a long time. It has a great atmosphere on the inside and outside. The outside porch is covered and is a nice place to grab food with your dog. Our server greeted us right away, they use a flag system here so they only stop by if you put a card up and need help. They did check on us to see if we liked our food. We opted for the QR/online ordering system, it was really confusing and impersonal. I prefer someone taking my order. I ordered a margarita with salt, half the brim was salted which was odd. The margarita was ok, I've had better. For the drink cost of $13.50, it wasn't worth it in my opinion. I ordered two tacos, I got their pork taco and mushroom taco. I really enjoyed the pork taco, it had a lot of flavor. The mushroom taco was ok. Bartaco is a good spot if you want a nice, casual place to grab food. If you're looking for authentic tacos with better prices there are better places. @living.with.reg

Yelp
The location, the food, the vibes, what's there not to love? Stopped by with some friends after the sunday market for some chats and tacos, and it did not disappoint. I tried the glazed pork belly, roasted duck and sesame ribeye tacos, so yummy and full of flavor. The tacos are a bit small, but pack a punch. If you want to feel a bit more stuffed, opt for one of the rice bowls! I have tried the sesame ribeye bowl which was delicious. Next I want to try the korean bbq ribeye. Our server was very kind and quick! Love the vibes at this place always!

Renee E.

Yelp
The margaritas were delicious, highly recommend. The guac seemed fresh and I put it on everything. I tried 4 tacos (shrimp, brisket, cauliflower, mushroom) and would order all but the brisket again. The brisket was fine but the other three were better. My spouse got chicken and brisket and agreed he'd skip brisket next time. We also got a kids quesadilla to share and my husbands eyes lit up- it was exactly what he wanted. We went on a Friday night- joined the waitlist 30 minutes before arriving had another hour wait when we got there. It's Hyde park, so that was not a big surprise but good to be aware. Once we got a table everything came out super quick!

Joshua E.

Yelp
Service? Amazing and fun. Food? Delicious. Vibe? Immaculate. Food portions? Absolutely abysmal. Like, I legitimately laughed when they brought the tacos out. Half the size of a normal sized taco. It was actually insane to me. I guess when you're drunk you don't care how much food is on your plate.

Yelp
Came here for brunch right before a hurricane was arriving so everything was pretty empty, so we were seated right away. We never been in this specific location but have been in others. Ambience is not the greatest, it looked kind of run down inside, not very well maintained, it definitely looked better outside. They have lots of outdoor seating options. Service is unusual because you technically can do everything over the phone app, but you have a choice to do a traditional way. My husband is older millennial so he hates QR codes so we asked for a regular menu and regular service. Service was pretty attentive, but it seems like they don't communicate with each other because 2 different people asked if we are ready to order right after we already ordered. I think Orlando location was more organized. We had guac with chips and kale salad to start. We also had 7 tacos for 2 and side of beans. Food was pretty good, we enjoyed everything, however portions are kind of on a smaller side. Overall it's a decent place to stop by. Portions are small, so you can get many different things.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to eat! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and a great healthy option. The tacos are delicious, and the variety keeps things exciting. The atmosphere is amazing, and the staff makes the experience even better. The guy at the entrance always has such vibrant energy, and everyone is so nice and attentive. Service is consistently great, making every visit enjoyable. If you're looking for a spot with great food, great vibes, and top-tier service, this is it!

Yelp
The tacos were delicious. I really like the concept of this place- you order off a QR code on your phone and they bring the food out as it is ready so you do not have to wait for a server to come and take your order. Very efficient. Everything was delicious and they had a good hot sauce collection on the table.

Yelp
Went for Saturday Lunch and it was super packed. There are convenient free garages everywhere for parking but fair warning, they fill up! It has a fun and casual ambiance in a great location! I've been to the one in northern Virginia and love it. I got a drink and the duck birria which were delicious and filled with duck! We also got their salsas and guac. The guac was chunky and had great flavor. The red salsa I didn't like too much but the green salsa verde was sweet and sour and delicious!!!

Yelp
Margaritas were great, tacos were good. I love this place, but I will say it might be for a younger crowd. I took my mom (yes a boomer! :)) here and she was so confused by the concept. She couldn't figure out how to order and didn't understand who our server was. She also had a complaint about her food and had a hard time knowing how to voice her concerns. I'm giving 5 stars for me and my friends (30s and 40s) but just noting my mom's issues for the 60+ crowd with the QR code ordering and not having a true server. It can be confusing for older people. Or maybe just my mom?

Yelp
1. Foodies good, tacos, chips with sauce, ahi tuna rice ball, tres riches, churros, everything was good. 2. We took only nojit, it was really good as well, water with small ice I liked. 3. We went for dinner, overall nice place, was very crowded, I understand because of really good food and good service, a lot of people. Will decently come back for tacos, and rice ball. I recommended to visit. Price are good for this place.

Yelp
Visited here after doing a candle making class as the lady recommended it and it was delicious! Their menu isn't too big but the items that are on it are definitely stars. I got a chicken bowl and my friend got the pork one. We traded halfway through to try each others which to me the pork one was better and my friend liked the chicken one too. I also got yo try their tea and wasn't expecting a giant vase for only $4!? Was so good! The restaurant itself was beautiful very open and lively. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Bartaco was full on a Sunday morning at around 11:45 AM. I was leaving Tampa on a flight later that afternoon. I wanted to eat a meal before the airport. I sat myself at the bar and ordered a Diet Coke with lime. It was WAYYY too early for a margarita but they do look like they make good ones! Fresh squeezed limes (approx 3) go into each cocktail! It took me a minute to order my food. I wanted more then a couple of tacos. My flight was in a few hours and the flight was about three hours long. I ordered a chicken rice bowl. But, when it came out, it was smaller than I had expected. Eh, I didn't mind. Was it going to taste good? After the first bite-- it wasn't the best seasoning I've had but the sauce was packed with chile and pepper flavor. The portion size was the issue. I wish it had been a tad larger. All in all, Bartaco is a fun environment and certainly worth a try. Their flavorful dishes and fresh squeezed lime margaritas are unique! I'd like to go back and try one of those margaritas.

Yelp
Interesting concept for a restaurant. We had a server but we order and pay through our phones via an app. I ordered the Esquites, which is sweet corn kernels w/ cotija cheese, creamy + tangy sauce, cayenne pepper. It was a little hot for me. Still good but wouldn't order again. I also ordered the Crispy Oyster Taco and the Glazed Pork Belly Taco. The oyster taco consisted of fried oysters with a remoulade sauce. The glazed pork belly consisted of pork belly in a spicy arbol chili sauce. It was thankfully not spicy but flavorful. Fun place!

Yelp
They didn't honor happy hour prices even though we sat at the bar during happy hour on a non-holiday Monday. Take a look at the bill picture for comparison. We didn't argue because in the end it was maybe a $3 savings. Not a huge deal to us. Our bartender was pleasant. Spicy margarita was indeed spicy. It was a quick trip in Hyde Park area. They have nice indoor / outdoor seating. Would recommend but pay attention to the prices.

Yelp
Bartaco is always that place you whip your phone out and document your food to show everyone. The coastal vibe just hits right on a cool summer day!

Yelp
I LOVE BARTACO. Best tacos ever. Best staff ever. Best atmosphere ever. The place itself is so cool, you can order from the table with your phone, or with the waitress, you have so many food options and all taste great. All have a great price as well. The mocktails are great too. And so is the good old beer! Great for everyone to enjoy. 10/10.
