"The trendy pan-Latin taqueria recently unleashed “lunch box” meals for kids, featuring a quesadilla, guacamole and chips, and a taco of choice neatly assembled in a retro metal box ($14). An easy ordering process includes checking off items with a pencil. The D.C. location also just debuted weekday happy hour for the first time." - Tierney Plumb, Emily Venezky

Google
Very innovative options, especially the tuna tatako tacos where the items were wrapped in a piece of lettuce instead of a traditional tortilla, which I actually thought was a very good idea because instead of absorbing the tuna flavor like a tortilla would have, the lettuce separated the tuna flavor from itself, reducing the impact of strong fish flavor and making the taco taste more neutrally friendly. The spicy chicken verde tacos were like the most traditional tacos with cilantro, white onion, and lime, and tasted like what I had expected. The crispy shrimp tacos, interesting enough, had cabbage slaw on it, which tasted a bit bland, and had to use the sauce on the side to make it better. The mushroom tacos tasted good with roasted poblano chile sauce on it, along with queso fresco cheese bits. That one was my friend's favorite, and my second favorite. Since my friends and I did take out on this one, we didn't have the dine in experience, but I walked past the establishment and it looked pretty fancy inside. Hopefully one day I can give it a try dining in!

Google
Definitely order the shrimp and pork belly tacos for a sweet and spicy kick. I started with the shrimp (spicy) And ended with the pork (sweet) in made for a perfect sequence. Highly recommend!

Google
The tacos were fantastic, as were the churros and the grapefruit ginger aqua fresca. In full disclosure, I randomly walked by and stopped in, so I had no idea about the "credit card up front and order on your phone" approach. Didn't care for that, at all, so 2 stars for service because there really wasn't any... UPDATE: Really appreciated Nora reaching out. Called her back and had a nice conversation about my visit. Changing the Service from 2 stars to 5 stars because they cared enough to follow up!

Google
The food was great. You're basically supposed to be your own server, and the workers are basically food runners and bussers, And when we asked for a paper menu cause the qr wasn't working for us it seemed as a major inconvenience to the workers. I'd recommend just going to the taco place on the other side of the street. The idea they have here is great. It's just not effective.

Solid food today. Service was great. Margerita was on point. Everything tasted fresh.

Google
I had a great time at Bartaco last night! I tried the pork tacos, fish tacos, birria, and dips, and everything was delicious. The dip in the picture was especially good. The waiter was also very friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and affordable Mexican meal.

Yelp
I cannot say enough about the wonderful dining experience we had tonight! We had an unexpected evening out and on a whim decided to stop in to bartaco because my partner had a good experience while on a recent business trip trip to Boston. We had a very friendly hostess who immediately seated us at a great table. First thing I noticed was the volume in the restaurant was perfect. It was busy and there was music but we could still carry on a conversation. Next thing that caught my attention was how attentive our server was. He started out by walking us through our options for ordering since it was my first time. But he also remained close by during our entire meal and checked on us as each item was delivered. The service was amazingly fast! Seemed like seconds after we placed our order, the chips & guac arrived. And the staff delivering the food made a point to introduce themselves, which I've never experienced at any other restaurant. But most importantly, the food and drink were delicious! Everything tasted fresh. Guac tasted like it was prepared table side, even though it wasn't. Tacos were great. And the poke bowl was perfect. The margaritas were also wonderful. Fresh, refreshing and perfectly balanced. We finished our meal with churros, which hit the spot. It's great when one thing goes right during a meal out. It's amazing when all aspects of the dining experience come together, especially when all levels of service are friendly and attentive. We look forward to returning.

Yelp
Been to a few Bartaco locations and the consistency is there with the food and drinks. They also have the most efficient ordering system which I feel more places should adapt - you order everything directly from your phone and each member of your party can have their own bill with no problems. And your order comes out within a few minutes! While I think the drinks could be stronger, they are very delicious. This was probably the best Ranch Water I've had anywhere. The chile lime shrimp taco was way spicier than I thought it'd be (I have a very low spice tolerance) but otherwise it was cooked well. This location had a pineapple taco special that was superrrrr good, I should've ordered more of just these. The smaller kale salad was good but could've done with more dressing - same for the tuna salad. The tres leches tasted like a refrigerator at the top but the bottom half was okay but didn't give me real tres leches feels. You really can't go wrong if you want something quick and casual but still get a good dine in experience.

Yelp
Such a cool spot! The relaxed atmosphere is exactly what we needed on a hot day. I loved the ease of ordering with a group and the ability to continue to order if you are hungry! Our food came out quickly and the staff was very helpful throughout the process. The food was good and I would absolutely go back in the future, the aqua Fresca was delicious!

DeAnna W.

Yelp
Food is delicious and reasonably priced for a chain. It's not "authentic" Mexican but what is outside of the border states?!? It's good solid food. I like the Pork belly tacos and the felafel tacos...nice cultural food-fusion. The drinks are stand-outs especially my fave, the Paloma Fresca. My bartender, Lewis was great and made it spicier at my request. Definitely recommend Bartaco when you're visiting DC.

Rolf H.

Yelp
Laid back atmosphere, good and unobtrusive service, option of digital or 'in person' ordering, delicious selection of tacos (but they're a tiny bit smaller than what I expected). However, one of the managers told me upfront I'd need 5 tacos for a good dinner - usually I eat 3..... So, they were very transparent (as I'm chewing on my sixth - lobster YUMMM). I liked their cocktails and enjoyed not having to talk as I had a lot of talking day .... This for me is a repeat place!!!

K V.

Yelp
Definitely adding this place to my fave place to eat! They make delicious mojitos. Love yhe ahi tuna bowl & pork belly. Chile lime shrimp taco is so tasty! My second time eating here and work colleagues and I have already decided we are going back here again for dinner!

Laura H.

Yelp
Ok so I think the food here is a solid 4.5. Tacos are very good, but they are definitely small street tacos for about $4 each. I know some people have complained about the price, but these aren't your typical carne asada street tacos. Instead, they have options like duck, brisket, fish, etc. so I think the price is pretty reasonable. You'll need to order at least 4 tacos for lunch though. Service was quick, and waiter was nice. I personally don't love ordering on apps, but that's the set up here.

Gina B.

Yelp
Food and service was outstanding. Perfect start to our vacation. Wyatt was the perfect host and server.

Alesia S.

Yelp
Stopped by to get a drink for a friend's birthday. Our group sat at the bar and ordered drinks and small bites. I had a tequila flight. The service was ok. I had to interject while the bartender was making our flights, as one of the glasses that she was going to use was visibly dirty. It took a long time to close out our bill, once we were ready to go. We also had to ask to get refills on water.

Anna S.

Yelp
The tacos here are fine. They're advertised as "street tacos" (aka smaller size than regular tacos); they're priced the same way that the usual tacos would cost so be prepared to pay slightly more than you would at most taco places. This place is great if you want to grab a drink and a quick snack. It's also great if you get their free taco tokens that they frequently give out as promos. But as an actual dinner spot, the prices run a bit deceptively high and I don't think it's worth it. The tacos themselves are okay - I think the tortillas are a bit on the dry side and found the lettuce wraps honestly better tasting. It's a solid amount of filing they give - they don't skimp but they also don't provide that much filling. The tacos again, are fine. They're not bad but not particularly memorable. I wouldn't recommend the chorizo - I love chorizo normally but their chorizo tacos were just a bit "meh". The fish tacos were solid - I've liked all of hte seafood tacos I've had there so I recommend ordering those. The service is excellent - every time I've been here, the waiters are super helpful, friendly, and warm. The ordering is done via QR code so it's pretty easy. The outdoor seating area (roofed) is also an excellent place to sit on a nice evening. The place itself is very friendly for a group or catching up with a friend - both the indoor and outdoor area aren't too loud and the seats very comfortable.

Yelp
I am a fan!! I started with the tuna poke. This was my favorite bite of the entire meal. Came with fresh tortilla chips, the tuna was cut up in tiny bite size pieces, and the spicy poke dressing totally hit the spot. The tacos are small but still yummy. I really enjoyed the Baja fish, but I wasn't a huge fan of the chili-like shrimp. The Baja fish was following and well cooked, but the chili-lime fish was so spicy I couldn't finish the small bite and was a little too sour. I really want to come back during "high tide" aka happy hour! The prices are unbeatable and the outdoor patio seating is a vibe! On top of all of that, the staff is really nice and friendly - especially the ladies at the host stand!

Yelp
My friend and I deviated from our usual Asian-food habits and decided to try Bartaco for lunch. I am from Southern California, so was cautiously optimistic about finding a new place in DC with decent tacos. I was heartened to hear the manager (who came over to seat us and get us started) say that they serve Mexican-style street tacos, and that they recommend 4-6 per person. Off to a great start! You order online via QR code, which makes it super easy to order refills and extra tacos as you go. I started with a plate of 4 tacos: pork belly, chorizo, Chile-lime shrimp, and the Baja fish taco. The pork belly was crispy and sweet, a very solid choice. The chorizo was honestly disappointing (oddly bland, which is surprising for chorizo), so I wouldn't recommend it. The shrimp taco was DELICIOUS! Well cooked, and with a delightful spice. No extra salsa needed on that one! I loved it, though I will say my friend didn't finish her shrimp one because she didn't like how spicy it was. However, a huge standout (for both me and my friend) was the Baja fish taco. I have high standards for fish tacos, and this one met them! Crispy, not at all spicy (I added salsa, my friend did not, haha) And beautifully cooked. If you go to Bartaco, would definitely recommend this one and the shrimp one. Service was quick and friendly, and they didn't rush us, even when we lingered for a long time to catch up. Would definitely go back!

Yelp
I really do think bar taco has some of the best street tacos in DC. Now that being said they are a dollar more than any street taco should be lol. Their duck birria is a must though and so so good. On this venture to bar taco I tried the lunch special! Which they don't advertise!! It is a salad or soup and then three tacos. I got the soup, which is really just chicken noodle without noodles . I was kinda hoping for some Mexican or Spanish flavors but really just chicken noodle haha, which is fine and all but not special. The tacos I got the fish which I think is their best, the duck... a good second and the special battered shrimp, which was good but would write home about. For me this place is a tried and true even if overpriced since it's hard to find better in these parts. But I would say for sure my hard recommendations are the duck Birria ... you'll go crazy. The rotisserie chicken is actually really good and a good price and for tacos go for the duck and the cod for sure. If they have the pastor get that as well. I don't really like sweet or Asian influenced tacos so the steak and pork belly are immediately off my list to recommend, but hey! Someone must like sweet Asian tacos! Those are for you! Service is really good here and Byron the manager is really nice.

Yelp
Stopped in after a long day of volleyball at the convention center. My girl wanted chicken tacos, so we were on a mission to find some! Mike greeted us at the door and although the wait was going to be a long one, we had some fun banter back and forth. Fortunately, Mike worked his magic and was able to get us seated quickly. So much fun and will definelty return and hope to have Mike again. Tacos were worth the trip! Baja fish & shrimp for me. Chicken and duck for my daughter. Friends came with us for chips and guacamole and drinks. Guacamole was super fresh and delicious. Dessert was decadent. Key lime pie for me and vanilla (yes she's boring) ice cream for my daughter. Both incredible! Cocktails were the perfect addition to the already amazing meal. 10/10 recommend.

Nicole R.

Yelp
Was able to quickly sit at the bar (otherwise a 30 minute wait!). Service was fast and enjoyed the small plates and ability to try many things. Loved the: 1. Plantains - crispy, sweet, yum 2. Tortilla Soup - flavorful, light 3. Duck Birria - decadent, juicy 4. Fish Taco - light, fresh Didn't like: 1. Chorizo Taco - flavor was lacking, ended up not finishing it

Victoria P.

Yelp
rooftop taco night using @bartacolife taco packs - diced chicken in chile and herb marinade topped with a fresh avocado salsa - spicy and tangy chile-lime marinated shrimp resting on a crisp and bright vegetable escabeche and finished with a zesty pepita salsa macha - ancho-crusted tuna, asian slaw, thai basil vinaigrette, soy glaze, lettuce shell loved this idea for an @ home lil' dinner party

Savitrie L.

Yelp
Last minute dinner option, but it was so worth it! Tacos are small but definitely filling with what we ordered. My girlfriend ordered ranch water and I ordered a mojito. Falafel tacos(spicy), chicken tacos as my order, and a side of plantain. She ordered shrimp tacos (has spice)and lobster cevichetacos with a side of street corn. We had the churros for dessert it was so good! Service was great, and we left there full. Definitely have to come back here when we're back in town.

Matt G.

Yelp
This was across the street from my hotel the service was great! Glad they were open so late! So many options to choose from! I went with tacos and guac. 12/10

Naria W.

Yelp
3.5 stars! Came to bartaco around 5pm on a Saturday and had a nice time. They have a really lovely patio and the place both inside and out has a great beachy aestetic and ambience. Everything is done through QR code which is easy and convenient and if you need help or have questions, someone comes to explain how everything works/you can put a little sign up at your table saying you need help which is super nice. These are "street tacos" which just means they're small. About half the size of a regular taco. I had the falafel and ahi tuna taco which is served on a lettuce wrap. Both were packed with flavor and well seasoned. All the tacos were a little too spicy for both my friend and I but if you like tacos with a kick this is a good place. I also had the street corn which was super delicious! Neither of us had drinks but they have a few carafe options for iced teas. I had the ginger mint tea but think maybe they ran out and I actually just got iced black tea with mint leaves. Still tasty and refreshing so not a huge deal. I think bartaco is a great spot if you just want a snack, or drinks with a couple bites, not a full meal. The tacos are really small but around the same price as a regular sized taco, ~$4ish, so they don't feel worth the price to me. That being said, really friendly staff and cute aestetic for drinks!

Jeremy R.

Yelp
Smallest tacos I've ever seen. I'm not even sure I would call them tacos. One thing came wrapped in lettuce, which I was not expecting You have to do everything for yourself, including creating the order. Bartender couldn't tell me anything about any of the beers. Would not come here again.

Megan K.

Yelp
The outside seating area is awesome, nice casual spot to come meet with friends. Prices are reasonable and the food excellent. If you are seated outside your order and payment are done contactless.

Lauren L.

Yelp
I'm glad I finally got to try this place! I enjoyed the ambiance and decor. It was a solid spot for drinks and a small plate dinner on a Thursday night, and is a cute place for a date or to meet a friend (though for the former you might want to choose dishes that are less messy to consume). We sat at the bar, and had delicious spicy margaritas. The panachos were tasty, but challenging to eat without making a mess (big chips with lots of stuff on top). Still my favorite bite, though! The tuna tatako taco was yummy, but the lettuce wrap was a poor choice of vehicle. The whole thing fell apart. Maybe I just had a ripped leaf. The mushroom taco was pretty good! I would order it again. I thought prices were reasonable.

Alyssa S.

Yelp
Tacos are good. Friendly staff. Cody atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Great for a quick bite or drinks. It's a cool DC chain and I come here about twice a month. Always pleased with my visits.

Kai M.

Yelp
Okay, let's first start by saying this....I live for a good restaurant experience which eliminates long wait times to order and wait for the check....This place offers both ordering and payment services at the click of a button on the app. And yes, there are servers on staff to answer questions and bring out your items...But, it eliminates the "check splitting" dilemma and cutbacks on the time needed to dine, pay, and dash! And now that this is out of the way, let's move on to say that this restaurant has amazing service! The aesthetics is perfect for those picture lovers but the staff adds a special shine to the building. Food: I want to go right for the thing that won me over....At the recommendations of the server, we ordered 3 tacos each...they are relatively small so you'll want to order enough to fill you. They run between $2.94 and up and are very pocket friendly! I ordered the Baja fish, chicken verde, and the glazed pork belly. My favorite was the glazed pork belly because it offered just the right seasoning and spices to help you pause with each bite, and appreciate the flavorful feelings! My least favorite was the Baja fish and mainly because I didn't care for the slaw added to it and the fish was bland. My second favorite was the chicken verde but I've had better. So pork belly was the winner and came in with a perfect 10! Next, I ordered the Mexican street corn and while I've had better, it was actually really creamy and tasty. 7/10 Overall, I'll be back again because this place opens the door for several visits. Don't just read my review, do a walk in and treat yourself to lunch...you'll be pleased!

Kharonn T.

Yelp
The restaurant had a 30 minute wait although there were seating available in the restaurant and outside. When I got seated I was prompted to enter my card number for a hold on my overall bill which was odd because who to say someone won't be coming with only cash? That should be kind of advertised that they want a card and it's mandatory to order. They actually kept bringing out food to my table that I didn't order mistakimg my table for someone else's furthermore The bill situation was over ruled after about 20 mins so i ordered received my food and felt sick almost immediately after eating my food rushing from the restaurant into a near alley to regurgitate. The restaurant was so packed and I did not get to enjoy any of my experience. I rate the place 2/5 do to the fact that the manager was sooooo helpful and I appreciated his efforts on making my experience more enjoyable

Jarrod S.

Yelp
We were in town for a quick visit to see the White House in person with family and decided to try out this spot. Had chips and guacamole to start and make sure you have a smart phone ready because you need it to order and pay with an app. No table service here just food runners bringing out food. Everyone that we interacted with was very pleasant especially the male host. Ordered one of each taco for the table and the favorite was the pork belly and steak.

Janelle J.

Yelp
I've been to this place like 5 times and they've never missed. I love the ordering system and the food and drinks are good. Sitting outside is so cozy, even when it's a little chilly out because they turn on the heat lamps. This is the only place I've been to where I can get a lettuce wrap taco, maybe I should look for more but theirs are delicious ha! I'll be back

Kelson N.

Yelp
Bar Taco is my spot. It is dangerously good and has a lively atmosphere. The margaritas are the best in town. I have not found a better place yet. My staple items are the items that I believe they are the best in town for. Those items are a fruit or traditional margarita, the tres leche cake, the fish taco and the pork belly taco. All are addicting and taste great! When I'm in the area, I have to stop by.

Matthew S.

Yelp
Have been to Bartaco several times and it is simply the best. Service is fast and friendly, atmosphere is chill and fun, and the food - the food is outstanding. Drinks are also delicious and there's something for everyone - whether you're in the mood for a beer, specialty cocktail or something non-alcoholic, they're got something for you. Ordering is simple - scan the QR code on the table and place your order via phone. Wait a few minutes and your food is brought to the table. Pay your tab and tip the staff through your phone too - it's totally seamless and really cuts down on unnecessary visits from the waiter when you don't really need anything. As far as food goes - everything we tried was amazing. Fish taco had a big piece of crispy on the outside, flakey on the inside white fish. Pork belly is sticky and the perfect blend of sweet and salty. Chicken soup had things I couldn't even begin to identify but it was also delicious! Would definitely recommend Bartaco - whether your visiting Mt. Vernon for the day or a regular - you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu and the staff is so friendly and willing to provide recommendations based on your tastes.

Sabrina G.

Yelp
Stopped here on National Margarita day and I must say out of the five places we went to that day this one was number 2 on the list for great margaritas. I enjoyed the music that was being played. Since I've had tacos three days ago I did f get any food. The restaurant was clean and we were able to be seated right away in the bar area. I didn't like the bartender because it was like they didn't want to services us. The lady asked us what we wanted and walked off and the guy stared us down for about a good five seconds until him and the other lady talked about who would take our order. I won't visit this location again but I will visit the one located in BALLSTON because I've been wanting to try their food as well as more drinks. I want to shout out Amy for reaching out to me regarding my review. I love when the management acknowledges you when your service wasn't great. Thanks Again. So, for that I want to give them a four star. I will come back to update again once I go back to visit.

Yelp
Officially a fan. I was invited to a Yelp event here a few weeks ago and of course stopped back in to try more of the menu. The cuisine is a blend of Carribean and Spanish influences creating a very unique menu full of amazing flavors. The food, staff and overall vibes were just A1. I'm certain I'll be spending a good number of summer days on their outdoor patio situation. Okay reasons for 5 stars: - the food is damn delicious. I've tried a good number of items on the menu...and everything is REALLY good. Things to try: - Fish Taco - shrimp taco (spicy but SOOO GOOD. currently my fav) - pork belly taco - bean soup - guacamole (SOOO GOOD) - secret taco for July (lobster taco ) - guac + roja + verde + chips (all of the dips were amazing) - THE SPICY MARGARITA! They have a very special way of crafting their margaritas and it really is perfection - cauliflower taco - the service is great! - they allow pups on the patio - the space is just really cute. - they have a contactless ordering system (at least on the patio) so you can order and pay from your phone Tips: - there's no official parking BUT you can park in the Safeway parking lot for 90 minutes with a $5 purchase at the grocery store. So basically $5.00 parking...which is unheard of in dc - no reservations BUT you can call up to 30 minutes ahead of time to get on the waitlist - try the margarita. Trust me. - the tacos are small so I would get 3 or 4 per person Things i hope they incorporate in the future - happy hour. Everyone loves a good happy hour...so hoping they can figure out a way to incorporate it. - that's it. Like I said...excited to spend some summer evenings on the patio. Food is bomb, service is great...drinks are delicious!

Yelp
At dinner with my best friend and we both ordered the Ahi Tuna Bowl! Mine came first as an allergy order, was excellent with a side of rice. After an extended wait for the second bowl, we were massively impressed by Ayanna who went above and beyond realizing the mistake and recovering the service leaving us feeling heard and seen. She even brought over an extra side of rice because she noticed it was gone! Great anticipatory service - exceeded our expectation by the way she handled the situation that could have left us leaving frustrated. Great hospitality at a busy restaurant :)

Katrina S.

Yelp
I have been to a few Bartacos and wanted to try this location. While I was excited for this new addition to Mount Vernon Triangle, I was not thrilled by the food. I preface this with I'm from CA and love myself a good quality taco. I had a variety of tacos and they were just ok. However, the guacamole and drinks were perfect just as they across all Bartacos. The servers were very friendly, but just note you are not going for the service as you do not have a dedicated person who comes to check. This location was also very loud. Unfortunately, I will not be going back.

Emily S.

Yelp
You've got to get in here at a good time or else the service takes FOREVER! Drinks are great and handcrafted but the neglect at the bar is real. We waited 15+ mins just to ASK for our check. Guac is amazing as well as the roja salsa. Tacos are good but small. I'll deff come back but really hoping for better/faster service.

Yelp
I first discovered bar taco in GA back in 2017. When I found out they came to the DMV I was thrilled! Sometimes greatness doesn't transfer but Bartaco wasn't having any of that! The service was excellent! I got recommendations for margaritas, tacos and any other questions I had. The menu is through QR code and you order right from your phone. I saw some people thought this was "invasive". I'll try not to roll my eyes too hard when I say ITS 2022! I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that this experience was minimal contact while still having the help available if needed. There were plenty of staff walking about making sure tables were ok. It was busy when we arrived for lunch on Saturday 4/30 but we were seated quickly on the patio. It was a beautiful day for tacos and tequila! This leads me right into the food. I feel like we ordered every taco on the menu! I'm a huge "try everything once" person. We got the fish tacos, chicken tacos, short rib tacos, duck tacos, and shrimp tacos. We had Elote corn on the cob, duck birria tacos (not pictured, but delicious!) and a few of their margaritas. Everything came out hot and timely! I even took a small Guac and chips home for later! The tacos are street style, so small (2-3bites), but PACKED with flavors. Do yourself a favor, EAT HERE, and make sure to call me so I can join you!

Yelp
As someone who is allergic to avocados, I must say, this guac was worth the EpiPen. Tacos were as delicious as Megan Fox in the original transformers movie. House music fucked. Will be a regular.

Yelp
Very pleased with my experience here. Dined for a quick happy hour and enjoyed the food and service. Very easy going and jovial environment. I'll be back for dinner on another day!

Yelp
I stopped into this taqueria with an appetite for some Birria tacos. Just my luck, they had Lamb Birria tacos. Lamb was a nice touch to the Birria trend with the flavorful complement of the consume. The falafel in the falafel taco was fresh and had a great consistency. Lastly, the key lime pie in the glass jar has enough lime zest to make you wish you ordered two. Treat yourself and when you do, don't forget the Elote!

Yelp
This was my first time visiting Bartaco, but it will be on my list and in rotation for here on out. I wish I was able to dine in because it a very comfortable space. The hostess was very friendly. She was very descriptive about the offerings and helped me navigate the menu before I made my way to the take out area. There, they helped me make decisions by explaining the ingredients in each of the taco I inquired about as well as offered me each of the sauces to try. The most !! A.M.A Z I.N.G !! flavors were inside of each of the tacos that I chose. It really sent my taste buds on a journey!! From left to right you see the Pork Belly, Baja fish, Brussel sprouts and duck tacos. I can't remember the name of the sauce, but each one was delicious with its own unique flavor profile. The green colored one is the center is my favorite and has a wonderful jalapeño base that's just right. I can't say enough about the taste of the food and the fresh quality ingredients used. I'm glad I found this place. My friends and I will see you real soon

Yelp
Glad to see a Bartaco open in DC since I used to visit it often in NOVA! There's plenty of space here, and nice covered outdoor seating. Our server was very attentive, informative, and friendly. Bartaco always comes thru! I want to mention that this is not your typical authentic taco place. It's a more modern twist with unique flavors/meats. It's recommended to get at least 3 tacos per person, and you can always order more. I enjoy the baja blast and tuna tatako tacos the most as always. The seared chorizo is just ok so probably wouldn't get again. I have enjoyed the pork belly, cauliflower, and duck too. I also love getting the elote (esquites) and chips with guacamole! I would skip the ceviche, but still was pretty good.

Yelp
Bartaco is a unique restaurant. We weren't sure if we liked it in the beginning, but by the end we did! FOOD: I love the variety of tacos and that you can order them individually to try several different ones! The baja fish and pork belly tacos were my fave! I enjoyed the roasted duck too. The spiced lamb kofta was interesting, tasted just like a gyro. DRINKS: We were excited for the cocktails, but they were overpriced (with the exception of a Pilsner that was $0). SERVICE: It's almost all contactless. I was with a party of 3 and there was almost no cell service inside. We connected to Bartaco's internet without issue, but 2 out of the 3 of us did not receive the confirmation code they are supposed to send us in order to order all food through the website. The idea is cool though - anytime you want to order something you just use the website and it adds to your bill.

Yelp
Spacious modern taqueria that serves affordable bites. Menu is across the board tex-mex, asian & Caribbean. I had the shrimp tacos ($4) ate it in 2 bites :) and a side of plantains. My friend had the poke bowl and ceviche. Though relatively smaller dishes, delicious and filling. We pulled up without a reservation on a Friday at 6pm, wait time was 45min so we opted for bar seating. I love the bright space. Kinda imbibes "immigrant food" in downtown dc. I saw some folks on 2nd dates (I have the eye okkk!) but by 8pm hard to hear my friend sitting shoulder to shoulder with me. Meaning , It's great for a night out with friends. Our server was prompt and courteous. We had a hard copy of the menu, no barcodes were scanned. Random: there was no background music which I enjoyed. Hate talking over both natural chatter of restaurant guests and a corporate curated playlist

Yelp
Bomb food, easy ordering! I love their chicken soup and their tacos. I wish the tacos were a tiny bit bigger but honestly it's the perfect bite and you won't be overly stuffed after 1 taco Great vibes and lots of options. Their guacamole and margs are also bomb!

Yelp
Thos place was neat. I sat outside and are. It was a nice day. I like how the owner greeted me. I can't remember her name., sorry. She gave me the run down and I was good. I like how you can use your QVC scanner to order and pay for your bill. It's a tapas place so be ready to order atleast 4 or 6 street tacos to get filled.

Yelp
The food here is really good and at a decent price point. It can get busy for dine-in; but is great when you can snag a table. They are really great with allergies. The issue lies in their takeout business. We've ordered a few times and arrive after the time the email says and can be left waiting 10-25 mins at the restaurant for our meal. It's almost like they don't start making the meal until you show up to remind them. I think this could be remedied with a better notification system that was more real time or just padding the time a bit more in the email. We would gladly wait for a longer time to show up than to wait in the back of the restaurant for 20 mins.

Yelp
Cute! Went with some friends and had a great lunch, they were a huge fan of the margaritas and I loved the bite-size tacos and the beans! So good, both vegetarian-friendly and dietary restriction-friendly

Yelp
Would love to give it more stars...but never able to get a table. Put names in list in a Thursday night and was at the bar for 45 minutes yet only one party seated during the entire time. Good looked and smelled good...assuming or hoping it tastes good as well. Hopefully next time I'll actually be able to eat here!

Yelp
I met a friend of mine at this spot on a Saturday and enjoyed the tacos immensely. The pork belly, chicken , shrimp and fish tacos were awesome. I'm forgetting one that I ordered and it was the best one but you won't be disappointed if you pay this establishment a visit.
