I’ve been trying to use the Barter points I accumulated from a single job for over two years now — more than 17,000 points. I was told that job had to be done entirely through Barter, with no option to split it between cash and barter. The sales tactics were high-pressure, with repeated calls and in-person visits until I finally gave in. My sales rep then left the company shortly after. If you are wondering the service, we permitted, manufactured and installed an electrical sign for the front and side of the building.
Ever since, every time I try to use my points, the services offered are still cash-heavy and require a large amount of Barter points. It feels impossible to actually use what I earned. At this point, I feel misled. In many cases, I can buy the same product or service outside of Barter for only a little more cash — which defeats the whole purpose.
After two years of trying, I’m left feeling frustrated and taken advantage of.
