Portland’s Legit Late-Night Happy Hours | Eater Portland

"Decked out in all black, Bartini serves a menu of a few dozen “martinis,” which is to say a variety of cocktails made with all manner of “mixers” served in oversized martini stems. Given the variety, there’s sure to be something to please, especially when the voluminous drinks are just $5 after 9:30 p.m. — until midnight on weeknights and 11 p.m. on Sundays. If cheap drinks aren’t enough, the bar also offers all of its small plates on discount, including $4 mash potatoes also served in a martini glass, because that’s just classy." - Alex Frane

The bartender did so good on the drinks. Best Martinis I’ve ever had. I wish they had a little more staff but it was Tuesday night at like 9 pm so I understand. Over all the tacos were so flavorful. The dessert is all fondue if you like that there were so many different flavors. Will be coming back again!

Google
Happy hour for drinks and Tapas is awesome. Happy hour is 4-6 and late-close, all days Sunday and Monday. like $2 off of everything on the menu. They make a killer mule. Can’t beat it. Furniture and vibes are great. Connected to a fondue restaurant- I recommend the one with pesto

The Urban Restaurant Group has such a selection of great places and this was another one! Bartini was a great SundayFunday find and we indulged on the happy hour and enjoyed everything. An intimate bar with great food and drinks. Definitely look forward to coming back!

Google
Bartini went out of their way to allow us to make reservations for 7 people. Our server was amazing! The drinks were great and reasonably priced. They really helped get our night started.

Popped in here waiting for a table next door. This hip and quaint little spot is great. I enjoyed the atmosphere and decor. The drinks were innovative and delicious! We just happened to show up at happy hour at 4 pm. 50% off. Drinks were a great deal. The service was top notch. And the wife and I will be coming back for some more Bartini's.

Google
This is my favorite bar to go out with my friends! It’s so cute, the drinks are beautiful and taste amazing. Ally was our server, she was so sweet and attentive to our group. Will definitely come back again!

Google
Great atmosphere to sit down with friends and catch up. Service is 10/10 and would highly recommend the Sirens Song cocktail.

Yelp
First time visiting this evening. Fabulous happy hour with quite a varied menu. Well priced. Absolutely perfect, traditional Martini. Very nice décor and very comfortable. Compliments to Marlon for excellent service. Metered street parking. Definitely would visit again.

Yelp
This ended up being a worthwhile stop! Happy hour was a great deal, for $8 you were able to choose from an entire menu of martinis, not just 4-5 options like you'd normally see. Service was great, drinks were tasty.

Yelp
Cozy little martini bar. Martinis are $10.50 which I thought was pretty good! I ordered the thin mint cookie martini which was lovely. The dirty martini there is also really good, and that's coming from someone who doesn't like olives or vodka lmao

Yelp
This place is beautiful! I love the aesthetic here and the music choice was amazing. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, we ate all of our naan and she provided us with some extra bread to finish up the hummus which was very much appreciated! We got the house roasted hummus and that was delicious. The hummus was smooth and flavorful! The sampler was also good. The only thing was that the tacos & shrimp were dry, but the drink was top tierrrr. Great place, definitely coming back!

Yelp
Great neighborhood spot. I love that they have HH all day on Sundays. Perfect place for a night out with your girlfriends or for grabbing a quick snack and drinks. If you love fondue this is also a great place for that, the truffle cheese fondue is a must get

Yelp
Heard a lot of good things about happy hour so I gotta check them out! $7 for all Martinis was a pretty great deal. They also got deals on their food but we didn't get any (next time!). The Cloud Nine and Raspberry Truffle that we got were as decadent as they sound. I'm partial to the Raspberry one though, the slight tanginess from the raspberry was perfect. The Passiontini was also very nice, super refreshing. They have a few categories of martinis so you'll be sure to find something that you like! Inside was a tad dim but overall spacious and cozy. Service was fast and friendly as well. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Came here on NYE at 7 pm and got seated right away! Server was nice but forgot to put in my husband's food order. So after waiting some time, we asked for it to be cancelled since it never came. Fondue is always amazing and the drinks were great! Always a hit or miss with the place but overall it was good otherwise! Note: They also don't serve flatbread any longer!

Yelp
Bartini, unexpectedly, is a bar that serves martinis. Equally as unexpected is the fact that they partner with Urban Fondue, which, you guessed it: serves fonude. My group ordered an assortment of fondue, which was incredible, and paired perfectly with our apps. I ordered the Bananas Foster martini, raspberry truffle martini, and a Bellinitini (peach vodka, lemon, bubbles). As someone who hates any sort of drink beyond those that cater to the tastes of toddlers, I can honestly say that Bartini had endless options for someone like me, which was refreshing and much appreciated. What I like about bartini: martinis organized by category. Fondue and delicious, small plates. What I dislike: the interior is pretty dark (and not in an anti-big-light kind of way) and the decor is relatively outdated. However, I tend to not care about those sort of things so long as the food and drink are excellent, which they were. Overall, an awesome martini bar--sorry, bartini!

Enrique P.

Yelp
The martinis were made well. We enjoyed some cheese with bread and fruits. Very delicious combination and I would recommend this establishment to people who enjoy low-key environments.

Yelp
Been coming here forever and ever- back when the martinis were $4 during happy hour. Their Brie and Gorgonzola fondue is yummy as is their calamari. But today the amount of calamari was lacking. There were 11 pieces for $10- seriously. Super disappointed. I get prices go up - hence the martinis are twice as much- as is everything else. But why am I getting 1/3 of the amount of food for twice the cost. Doesn't seem worth it anymore. Btw service was great as usual.

Yelp
Really fun little place to share some great drinks and bites with girlfriends before a Keller show. The food was great, drinks were delicious, and the bartender was friendly.

Yelp
Great place tucked off the main walkways of 21st and 23-so glad we found this little gem. Got there right at opening time and were greeted with a friendly smile and menus and attentive service. Had the cosmopolitan (great) and tried the bananas foster too which was equally great. A couple appetizers came out quick and were tasty. I would definitely recommend!

Yelp
This is a fun location! It has beautiful outdoor seating, which is nice for the warmer days. The cocktails are fun and definitely specialty. I don't drink, to be honest I really dislike the taste of heart alcohol. However, these were delicately made and very palatable.

Yelp
Stopped in for happy hour with my mom and a couple friends and I truly don't understand the 3.8 rating. 5 star drinks, food, and service. The martinis are AMAZING, fondu DELICIOUS, and mini corn dogs and Buffalo chicken tenders were perfect bar snack food. Service was top notch as well, we needed for nothing. I highly recommend!

Yelp
Bartini is one of my favorite places to get really bang-for-your-buck Happy Hour. Their drinks and food are all really reasonably priced and very well-sized portions. For about $50, I'm always able to purchase enough food to get full and a couple martinis. I love that they have a martini for any kind of person. They have a wide range of flavors and offer both gin and vodka martinis. I love going here with someone else so we can exchange/share drinks and try even more of their drink selection. As a tropical fruit lover, I always err on getting martinis with those kinds of flavors. For $5 a martini, I can't complain about the drinks I've had! Make sure to arrive earlier in the evening if you're interested in going, otherwise you might encounter a pretty long wait time. With Oregon being as rainy/cold as it is in the winter, this long wait can get quickly unpleasant if you're coming during the colder months!

Yelp
Have came here twice for two different friends birthdays and it's always a good time! So much food to choose from! I would definitely recommend coming with a bunch of friends and just sharing so you can try everything! Lots of different fun martinis to choose from and all are delicious. My favorite thing to get from here is the goat cheese polenta cake! 10/10. It is connected to urban fondue so don't forget to try their fondue. This place is dark( not too dark), intimate and inviting! Service is always good!

Yelp
Visited Bartini last night and I def will be back! I started with the passiontini which was delish! A little more orange than passionfruit but so delicious and flavorful, nonetheless! I then had their peach martini, under the fruity section on the menu. It was outstanding! So peach forward, not too sweet and hands down delightful. I'd want that on a beach somewhere :) We shared the chips and guacamole and the fried green beans. The guacamole was surprisingly delicious!! It was incredibly flavorful and I loved the amount of acid that was used in it. The chips were salted to perfection. The friend green beans were outstanding! The batter was seasoned nicely and they were cooked perfectly. They came with a reallllly yummy dipping sauce too. For a Thursday night at 5, there were a few other parties but it wasn't slammed. It's a small little bar with exceptional service and an all around nice vibe. Prices were far and I think the total for 4 drinks and 2 apps was $45. I believe it was Happy Hour too! It's street parking and it seemed pretty manageable to find a spot within walking distance. All in all, I would definitely be back! I am dying to try the bananas fosters martini next! :)

Yelp
My fave place for happy hour! The martinis & fondue are amazing every time. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Occasion: Happy Hour Date: Valentine's Day, 2/14/2025 I planned a Valentine's pre-dinner stop at Bartini for Happy Hour before dinner at Fondue. I previewed both websites for updates and announcements, but nothing was posted so I concluded that it was business as usual. AMBIANCE 4/5: The space was intimate, trimmed in modern decor. Big picture windows brought in a ton of natural light (+) but were blinding at one point from the reflection from the sun onto cars. Suggestion: drapes (sheer, at least), blinds, or a darkening alternative to give the feeling of "happy hour" cocktail-lounge. SERVICE 2/5: Staff (the bartender) quickly acknowledged our arrival in a friendly manner and answered our question about seating in a warm, sincere way. We found a premier spot at the window and reviewed the libations menu. After waiting 7 minutes, the server finally arrived to take our order. As my guest and I were having a side conversation about our drink choice, my guest asked the server about Vodka choices, to which he could not answer and confessed that he was a new staff/waiter. We were about to place our order, mentioning the happy hour options, and he stated, "we're not offering Happy Hour, yeah, I just found out". Talk about BIG disappointment. SUGGESTION: When making sudden changes about operations, service, special seatings, holidays, etc., offer alternatives and empower your employees to create problem resolutions that will elevate your service ("Due to __________, we are offering the regular menu this evening and will resume Happy Hour on ______. However, may I offer ________ (first round, 1 drink per person, the happy hour price; BOGO or a discount on any food item(s), etc). When the server returned with our beverages, I immediately handed him my credit card and instructed him to close my tab. We quickly finished our beverages and departed. FOOD 0/5: We did not order food. OVERALL: While I appreciate the friendly demeanor of the bartender and server on duty, my overall experience was disappointing, and I cannot recommend your establishment to others. Despite your extensive martini offerings and other appealing aspects, the service fell short of expectations

Yelp
2 years later, I still think the cheeseburger is amazing. Don't even need to add bacon! Just a perfect cheeseburger. Do yourself a favor and give it a try! 5/5 007 martini was also very delicious. Mix of gin and vodka, lemony. Strong. Ruby port fondue was also quite yummy. Generous amount of bread and deliciously cheesy. Still doing all day HH on Sundays and Mondays. $7 martinis + a lot of the food is $2 off.
google avatar

Jim C.

Yelp
The wife and I stopped in here for happy hour, which runs all day Sunday and Monday. Upon entering, I was struck by the low seating and tables; but they were comfortable enough. For liquid refreshments, I enjoyed a "London Calling," which was pretty good, a "007" that was okay but would have been better if I had called a better vodka, and finished with my old standby, a Sapphire & tonic. Can't go wrong there. For food, we started with the ahi sliders, which were relatively tasty. From there, we moved on to the black truffle fondue -- which was good, but I preferred the pesto Caprese fondue, which was yummy! Our young waiter was friendly enough, but he definitely seemed new. We would return here, especially for their all-day happy hour.

L G.

Yelp
Food: Fondu, sausage, shrimp and fruit tasted good. Bread was good until we found a hair in it. Didn't try the salad because again there was a hair in it. Drinks were good but water was never provided even though there were water glasses on the counter and we were informed there were not any available. Service: Totally understand things moving slower since it was happy hour and there was only one server and one bartender but the rude and spiteful demeanor was a let down. Poor customer service in general. Rude attitude when asking for order or addressing our table. Could clearly over hear her actively checking in on other customers in a positive tone. Slamming dishes on the table. When kindly she was informed about the hair in the food, she cruelly responded with "what do you want then?" When we asked for the salad to be removed they brought us the check instead. Ambiance was good. Customers seemed to be having a good time.

Yelp
This is a wonderful spot! The food is amazing with multiple options and great prices. The drink menus is full of wonderful martini options that are creative and always delicious. This is a great spot and if you can manage to get here during happy hour I highly recommend! Came here for my anniversary and the staff was so friendly. Zachary gave us great recommendations on food, drinks and even took the time to write up a list of places to check out in the Portland area. He offered us champagne and congratulated us on our anniversary. So sweet! We will always come back to this great spot.

Yelp
Pros: - Friendly staff - Great vibe - Love happy hour--affordable, great portion sizes, and many options - Delicious fondue - Would highly recommend/return Cons: - Service is sometimes slow - Drinks did not come out, so bartender had to place order again, but gave us drinks for free to make up for it - Parking is always a pain, but this place is worth it

Alix U.

Yelp
Drinks were delicious, salads were delicious. Rest of the food was absolutely awful. Our dessert fondue was actually runny and yet cold at the same time... The staff was busy and curt, but then stood around chatting with each other whenever possible. I went up to the bar and was told our server was "busy" and would get to our table later. Won't be back, too many other good places to visit on 23rd.

Yelp
I love their Roasted Beet Salad, fondue, goat cheese polenta cake, and many of their yummy martinis: bird of paradise, bananas foster, crème brûlée, French kiss, oohhh the list goes on. The service has been good, attentive and it's a comfortable ambiance. Countless are the times I have spent laughing and enjoying the company of friends at Bartini.
google avatar

Kylie C.

Yelp
Amazing happy hour! Such a great spot for good snacks and drinks. The drinks were all great. My favorite was the bird of paradise. Food wasn't bad. The tater tots and shrimp tacos were the best.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is so great! I have a spreadsheet with all my reviews all of the martinis! The apps are so delicious and there is a fabulous happy hour! A must stop in Portland!!
google avatar

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time and really enjoyed it! It was a great spot to grab cocktails with the girls and the chocolate fondue was a fun addition. We sat in the back corner - it felt intimate and was great for a group of us! Definitely would go back to try their happy hour and order different drinks and appetizers. This is a great spot to meet up with friends.
google avatar

Yelp
I don't review places but the service from the blonde with the bad back shoulder tattoo was awful but entertaining. Held the door open for her so she could take drinks to another table she look confused in general or just not happy. She said all that's open is outside so I sat and waited for my friend. Sat for 10 mins before a menu was brought by a different server, 30 mins for my drink, 15 for her to take my friends order when we told her were leaving after 30 mins she gave us attitude we still tipped, 8$ for one drink and 1.5 hr in the cold with one drink on our table. she perked up real quick which was hilarious The food is overpriced and overrated I went to taco bell after and got better service
google avatar

Sara L.

Yelp
I love bartini! One of my favorite happy hours around NW! The seating can be kind of funky but I love their wide selection of drink options and their food is actually pretty good. It's not your typical bar food or drinks! The staff is nice although they did lose my card one time - I forgive them and will be returning shortly. I love grabbing drink there with the girls and it makes a cute date spot. Big fan!
google avatar

Erin J.

Yelp
Best Happy Hour!! This is what happy hour should be. $5 and $6 plates and great drink specials. Tater tots were perfectly crunchy and the cheese dipping sauce was so yummy. The polenta with mushrooms was divine. Caesar salad was pretty good. Super fun menu and great service! Sadly, I'm from out of town, otherwise this would be my once a week go to. I'll definitely be back when I'm in town again
google avatar

Yelp
0/5 stars. Food runner behind bar in pigtails told us we could not be in the building after putting our name on a wait list. I asked if we could have a drink while waiting and she told us no and to "get out" while waiting she also said it would be a 45 minute wait and we need to "leave" AFTER our name was on the waitlist. It made no sense. She was vile. The little twinkle man was fine. They were not kind whatsoever. Horrid little place.

Yelp
I have been a patron here for 12 years. I've always had great experiences. However, today's experience with a specific server literally put me off my dinner, and I will never come back to Bartini again. I came in at 5:50pm. 3 tables were free (1 inside, 2 outside). A server with mid-length red hair, pigtails, and a large right upper arm tattoo came over, very flustered, and told me very rudely that it would be at least a 30min wait because they were slammed (3 empty tables is not slammed). I asked if any of the 3 empty tables were available. She said no. I put my name in, and I was the second party on the wait list. I waited outside for a few minutes. Then I came in and asked if I could wait at an unoccupied bar stool. She very rudely said that they weren't doing service there. I said that I had asked if I could wait there. She said fine. After 10 minutes, a fourth table opened up. At which point she went down the block to smoke a cigarette, neglecting every single table, and leaving all four empty tables with dirty dishes. An HOUR after I arrived, with FOUR tables open for the previous 50 minutes, a new server came in (mid back-length straight dark brown/black hair, with a few small tattoos on her arms), whose name I believe is Hannah. She very kindly offered to serve me at the bar, where I was waiting. When I was surprised and said that I was told I couldn't be served there, she said that different servers have different rules. A few minutes later, she moved me to an open table. She was kind, and very professional. However, the red head continued to be rude the entire evening. She delivered a cocktail and a water to my table, and not only didn't she say anything or respond when I said "thank you," she didn't even look at me. I've worked in restaurants. I know what it is to be slammed. She was not slammed. AND, I know what it is to be courteous to your customers when you are slammed, and make them feel welcomed, even when there is a wait. This red head server should not be a server if her go-to reaction to being busy is to be abhorrently rude to customers. I advise everyone to avoid this server at all costs.

Yelp
l came here on a Saturday night and was seated right away for a party of two. They have a really good happy hour (all day Sunday and Monday, 4-6:30pm, 9:30pm-close Tuesday to Saturday) and I definitely wanted to take advantage of that. They have 100+ martinis which is just insane, and their drinks are super cheap during happy hour as well ($6 like what?!). They also have tons of food options which is uncommon for a place whose main draw are the drinks. I ordered the smokey goodbye which I liked. We also ordered the truffle fondue which is exactly what it sounds like. There was a lot of truffle flavor in it and I enjoyed dipping the bread in the sauce. This was a really cool spot and I'll most likely be back.

Yelp
Highly disappointed and shocked at the lack of professional. We were so excited to try Bartini since it was highly recommended to us. We had a chance to try it with some friends and got there at 6 on a Sunday. Not a single person working there spoke to us, or even acknowledged our existence. After 20 minutes, I asked a server if there was a list since no one knew what was going on and there were two open tables. He told me to wait and would find out. He never came back to talk to us. Finally someone (another customer) said that we need to put our names on a little tablet in the corner. Still nothing from anyone working there. We went around the corner for a drink after putting our names in. We were gone for just over an hour. We saw the were 5 groups ahead of us, two of which had been texted 2 hours prior for a table. Still no one acknowledged us. I was ready to bail at this point. I'm fine with a wait, I'm not fine with being completely ignored... On multiple occasions. A group for up and left, the table was cleaned, and it took 20 minutes before they seated us (everyone else ahead of us went elsewhere). The server sat us down, put water on the table but didn't bring any cups for the water. It was another 10 mins before the guy cleaning tables asked if we wanted a way to drink the water. Then it took another 10 minutes for the waiter to come back and take our order. We saw the bartender make our drinks.... Then they sat on the counter for yet another 10 minutes. The food and drinks were decent but no one came to ask how things were or to give us our check when all plates were cleared. My friend finally walked to the front and demanded it. Wish we just went somewhere else. We were just so hopeful but honestly the night was ruined.

Yelp
Love this place! Staff is lovely, drinks are amazing, and food is great! I suggest booking ahead. This is a nice place to go if you want small plates and drinks instead of the whole big shibang next door (which is also amazing btw).

Nathan O.

Yelp
So I'm not one to normally leave reviews. But me and some friends went here on a Sunday evening around 11pm. The drink menu had a pretty good selection, and to be honest the drinks were good. Not amazing. But good and fairly priced. One downside was our server was very pushy. It was pretty obvious she wanted to order right away and wanted us out. Perhaps she wanted to go home. But other people were there too. Another I did not like was I was overcharged. I tried getting ahold of their establishment over the course of 4 days to try and fix the charge. But no call back from them or answer. I don't know if they does this once in awhile, hoping customers don't notice the extra charge. But I certainly did. Would I go back? Sure, but I will be taking cash. I don't want to go through the hassle of disputing the charge again.

Yelp
This is the best bar in Portland for date night by your self any thing me and my girl always come here the manager Mary is just the best and I love it here The King has spoken Ohhhh Sunday and Monday is all day happy hr listen you will have a great time

Yelp
One of my favorite bars to go to. They have really yummy fondue options. Their drinks are amazing with a variety as well. The atmosphere is fun and slightly fancy. Love going here for a girls night!
google avatar

Melanie A.

Yelp
Cool little spot for some drinks. Also a great deal! We had really great service our server was super friendly and accommodating. Big smile, long curly hair... can't remember his name but he had great energy. I would pass on the food next time. I think most of it is just frozen food.
google avatar

Dominique N.

Yelp
Let me talk to you about one of my favorite happy hour spots in Portland! Bartini offers a plethora of intricate, beautiful and delicious handcrafted martinis for every taste palette. I am not a fan of martinis (eww gin), but Bartini will have a drink (or few) for everyone! During happy hour, their food and drinks are very affordable. I order the chipotle chicken flatbread, salt & pepper calamari and a thin mint cookie martini. Nothing was a disappointment!
google avatar

Kaitlyn B.

Yelp
Fantastic happy hour, great drinks and fondue! We go on "Bartini dates" with our friends and family. So often I come in thinking I'm going to get a new drink and I find myself rotating between 2-3 of my favorite, not because the others aren't good but rather because the ones I get are just so good! There's something for everybody here
google avatar

Bianca J.

Yelp
I love their social distancing tables with umbrellas they have now. Also, the food and drinks were super good! I haven't been here in a while and it looks like their martini drink menu minimized but the food menu had more food on it, which I was totally fine with!

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here for-ev-er. I'm so glad I made it in (for real, usually the waiting list is pretty extensive). We came for happy hour Monday (all day). Drinks were perfect - lots of martini styles, and anything else available. Small plates - I cannot say enough great stuff, holy moly. THIS, THIS is why you need to come here. Great drinks and perfect nosh? This isn't your "hummus and a carrot stick" type of nosh. This is, truffle mac and cheese, shrimp and grits, fondue, kind of "holy crap what are all these choices" kind of nosh. Interior seating is limited, there is outdoor seating for now - but if they don't have the staff to serve you, they may have to put you on a list for an indoor seat. Always go in and ask first (if there are no tables available) - they're small, and lightly staffed so be nice about it.
google avatar

Jenne S.

Yelp
Really fun spot! Went with friends as a stop for a birthday night out. The drink menu was intriguing and extensive. We all got something different and tried eachothers. We also ordered chocolate fondue.

Gabi K.

Yelp
Overall: HAPPY HOUR ALL DAY SUNDAY AND MONDAY! All drink are $5 during HH and all of the food is priced excellent as well. Atmosphere: They've got outdoor and indoor seating. Both are very nice. Inside is pretty small and a little tight so I wouldn't recommend coming here with a big group. Food: I tried a couple different drinks and they all tasted excellent. I recommend the Bird of Paradise and it had a nice sweet refreshing flavor. The mojitotini was excellent as well! Tried the chicken and bacon flatbread and it was very yummy! Excellent flavor and it was a good amount of food. Service: our server was awesome! Super sweet and checked up on us regularly which was nice.

Yelp
We actually went to Urban Fondue which is their next door sister spot. It was awesome! We enjoyed a meal of all things fondue, truffle cheese, steak and lobster and dessert chocolate fondue. Service was good, we could tell they were a bit short handed but we enjoyed ourselves and didn't wait long. I felt recommend this spot for some yummy participatory dinner experience.
