The food is amazing. Our table of 4 split the pep pizza, ricotta, beet salad, fried and gnocchi. We also got desserts! Everything was delish. Our server, Scott was absolutely the best. He helped guide us on what to get / are the most popular items on the menu. Scott is very kind and patient. When we come back, we will be requesting Scott as our server!

We had a fine experience at Bartleby overall. The food was fine. Steak was a bit tough and chewy, but the fries it came with were good. The mushroom ravioli was pretty good. Appetizers wise we got the arancini and the ricotta. Ricotta was the better of the two. But I will say the drinks there are quite good and I would recommend this place for the drinks. The space itself is very large and beautiful, but it was overall fairly empty which made the vibes seem a little off overall.

I came for just a nice dinner that turned out to be the best experiences I’ve had in Ohio City. It all started at the door, with the beautiful & sweet Nautica. She greeted us with a smile & sat us immediately to our liking. The food was PHENOMENAL from flavor to temp, my drink was DELICIOUS & everyone was so accommodating especially my server Scott. His upbeat personality & knowledge of the menu made my dinner experience very worthwhile. I WILL BE BACK.

Me and my husband visited Friday night. It was our first time there and we expected good food, drinks and vibes. We only got 2 out of 3.. The food was not up to par as we expected. The drinks, the service and the atmosphere were great though. Definitely will come back for the drinks and atmosphere but NOT the food!

We came into celebrate our anniversary and the place did not disappoint. Scott, was knowledgeable and helpful with picking out some appetizers and entrees for us to try. We got the JFC .. delicious and the Mushroom ravioli….OMG good! To name a few of the items. The salads are huge. We didn’t believe our server at first, but seeing is believing- Great portions. The DJ made the environment lively. Differently worth a trip back!!

From the moment we arrived, everything felt just right. The décor, the lighting, and the overall atmosphere created a warm, intimate, and refined setting. The balance between elegance and comfort made the evening truly special. We especially appreciated the sense of privacy, which allowed us to fully enjoy the moment without distraction. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Bartleby in Cleveland, and it was a great experience! Jason at the bar was absolutely amazing. He was not only friendly but also really knowledgeable, making us feel right at home. We were actually thinking about exploring other places, but Jason's engaging personality and spot-on drink recommendations convinced us to stick around. The vibe at Bartleby was fantastic, with a DJ playing great music that added to the atmosphere. The drinks were delicious, too! We're from Pittsburgh, but we can't wait to come back and will definitely be reserving a table for dinner because of the outstanding service from Jason. Highly recommend checking this place out!

I highly I recommend this place, it’s definitely my favorite. I’ve been here many times and have always had an amazing experience. I got the lobster ravioli which is phenomenal and the truffle fries and white pizza and calamari, honestly everything is a 15/10. Seriously is my favorite place especially with how beautiful it is inside. Great atmosphere, amazing food, and good drinks!!

We made a reservation with friends at 6 pm on a Saturday.... Food was amazing but ambiance was a bit awkward that early in the evening. It's definitely more of a dark romantic evening setting. Cocktails were great and everyone enjoyed their entrees. Options to get gluten free as well!

SYNOPSIS -- I visited on Saturday, 3 Feb. 2024. The Cod is a great dinner choice if you want something light. The cocktail names alone will leave you wanting more (I don't drink alcohol and I did not try a cocktail but 3 of my friends did). Go to Bartleby for the ambience because the character and atmosphere is truly astonishing (red chairs, high ceilings, big tree in the center, and a library feeling with the books and lamps placed around the tables). REGULAR REVIEW: BACKSTORY (why come?) - Why not come here is the real question?!?! Haha...so I visited Bartleby upon a recommendation from a long time college/University friend who said she enjoyed the Salmon entree. I came on a Saturday evening with 3 friends (former co-workers). We arrived for a late dinner at 8pm. AMBIANCE - Romantic and absolutely delightful. The mood will be set here....oh, the VIBES is 100%. The dim light and candles all throughout the restaurant is perfect for a date night or a fun evening with friends. The grandeur of the whole place including the tall ceilings, intricate pattern roof details, and book cases all FOOD -- Three of us all coincidentally ordered the Cod entree while another friend, Shakira, ordered just truffle fries because she wasn't feeling good. If you enjoy seafood such as fish then you'll love the Cod. The Cod is a very light meal so add a side dish if you know you'll be hungry later. The Cod comes with potatoes and peppers along with a dashi sauce. This sauce really gave the meal a nice and strong flavour. The fish was moist and not dry. I highly recommend the Cod. I also tried some of my friend's truffle fries and they were perfect, as expected how truffle fries should taste. Bartleby is solid! The food is good, nothing crazy but you definitely don't feel like you overpaid for anything. We got the ricotta app. The bread is so good! The drinks are the best part by far! We had 4 drinks total between the 2 of us and got a different one each time. I'd recommend the Diablo if you like a spicy margarita style cocktail. For entrees, we got the salmon and the cod. Both were delicious, but I preferred the salmon. Our waiter was incredibly kind, but you could tell that he was swamped with tables. He tried his best to be on top of things, but would frequently come back to the table to have us remind him of our order. Definitely not his fault at all and he was in good spirits, despite being worked non-stop. The vibes in Bartleby are smooth. The bank ceilings are stunning and the decor makes the venue feel upscale, but cozy. Overall, we will definitely be coming back to Bartleby, maybe on a less busy night.

This place is a vibe. Genuinely, the inside is just gorgeous. I came here with friends for dinner and we had a great time. I got the ...If You Must cocktail on the recommendation of our server (who was very helpful). We started with the white pizza as our app and it was very tasty. For my main I went with the Cod. It was light and refreshing with a distinct dashi flavor which was lovely. Is this place expensive? I mean yea. But the dishes we had I thought were tasty and you're also paying for the vibe so...what can you do. I think it's definitely worth checking out.

I would recommend Bartleby to anyone visiting Cleveland. Inside it has very high ceilings and a moody vibe to it. Our service was incredible fast and our waiter gave the table great recommendations. The food, drinks, and dessert were amazing!

Bartleby is beautiful! The ambiance is so posh and polished, I felt like royalty or like Bilbo Baggins in Great Hall of Thráin. Truly extraordinary! And the service was impeccable! Our server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. He made us feel right at home. The food was also good, but didn't quite live up to the ambiance and service. Between the three of us, we had the salmon with couscous, the arancini, the scallops, a side of asparagus, and the deconstructed berry walnut pie with crème anglaise. The salmon and arancini were both five star and the scallops were almost there, but held back by the lovely looking, but not very tasty, squid ink sauce. The asparagus were nicely cooked, with a tasty char, but needed a squeeze of lemon. The pie was tasty, but textures were not quite perfect. Despite any food imperfections, I highly recommend a trip to Bartleby - it's magical!

It was date night and we had a gift card. I'm not sure we would have even thought to try Bartleby's had we not had the gift card. We have been here previously but it was under a different name and it was a wonderful experience. The menu seemed limited but I think for the dishes they serve, it makes sense. The chef can focus on making each dish an experience. My husband ordered the burger and well done fries which he enjoyed. The burger was cooked medium and my husband said it "didn't need any sauce it was so juicy." He asked for the aioli on the side that he dipped his fries in. I had the Caesar salad with salmon and boy that was the best Caesar dressing I have ever had! I did have to ask for some Parmesan cheese because there weren't any on the salad. The service was wonderful. Michael, our waiter was attentive. Isaiah, the Busser, was personable, funny, and attentive as well. We asked him some questions and he gave us some really good recommendations. Because of him, we will definitely be back! My husband ordered a Stella and I ordered a Long Island iced tea of which reminded us of our college days. The ambiance was romantic, music was a mixture of different genre and able to have a conversation. It was just a little dark in the restaurant and definitely in the rest room. The restaurant decor was modern and tasteful. All in all, we had a wonderful experience! It was easy to find parking within walking distance (with heels on) for a Friday evening. Street parking after 6PM.

Before coming to town I researched restaurants as every good Foodie and Yelper does. After seeing pictures of the inside with the enormous tree I knew I had to stop in. The restaurant is beautiful. The ambience is as well. We started with the Ricotta Appetizer. Wow, it was amazing. I could instantly tell it was homemade. It was drizzled with a nice EVOO. My only complaint was I wanted a larger amount. I have craved it everyday since. As for dinner, there were really not any options for me. We had a wonderful server and she checked with the kitchen. I ended up with a bland piece of Salmon that was overcooked and some over roasted broccolini. I understand the worry when cooking for people with allergies. However, it's not hard to use salt and pepper at least. The other two people I was with loved their entrees. My husband ordered the Mixed Mushroom Fettuccini which he thought was very flavorful. Our friend ordered the Gemelli which she also loved. Definitely a restaurant you should try if you haven't yet. They have a late night menu with more affordable pricing.

Love this. Love the vibe, love the food--ricotta app, the roast chicken--was delicious. Love the wallpaper in the bathroom. Excellent service, at every stage. Can't wait to come back.

A newish spot tucked away in Ohio city. This restaurant is beautifullll. Theres high ceilings, dim lighting, old bank/library vibes, greenery, and a variety of different seating options from tables to high tops to couches. Went on a Tuesday night and it was pretty empty but heard it fills up on the weekend so would def make a reservation. The cocktails were delicious and creative. They seem to change seasonally. The food was okay and unfortunately overpriced. The Arancini came out cold and lacked some flavor. The ricotta dip was decent but nothing special. The mushroom pizza I would get again- it had a nice truffle flavor and was a good size that made the price more worth it. There are a few vegetarian options but mostly seafood/meat. Would come back for drinks and the atmosphere

The restaurant is beautiful inside and has the perfect ambiance for a special occasion. There were multiple vegan options to try including the grain salad, cauliflower steak, country bread, and the impossible burger. The cocktails are really unique-we loved the Yamanashi's finest. The service was quick and everyone was very kind and professional.

Meh. Took over old Crop location. Ambiance is nice... how can you go wrong w an old bank? Food is a solid 3. Very mediocre. I was expecting a much more ... robust selection. A lot of pizzas and non-house made pasta on the menu ... We had crab fritters, angel hair, ribeye, and broccolini. Unconventionally, all the food came out simultaneously. Fritters were as expected, angel hair and broccolini were probably the best dishes of the night. The steak (according to my husband) is only one step above Outback Steakhouse (ie. Do not get). Drinks ok, only three cocktails for selection (amongst wine). Do better or won't survive. Will not be coming back, sorry.

I'm so happy that someone took over the absolutely stunning Crop space. I will say, I think Bartleby managed to make this place seem grand and regal while also being cozy. Not an easy feat! There is a large bar/lounge area perfect for cocktails and snacks. There is also a large dining room perfect for date night or a fancy dinner. It really has something for everyone. The drinks are the stand out for me - always delicious and creative. The food is good, don't get me wrong, but just not very exciting for such an exciting location (think pizza, pastas, salad.) the service has always been prompt - even on very busy nights. I hear they recently opened for brunch and can't wait to try it!

We made reservations early for a Mother's Day for a group of 10 the website offered a brunch for the day. We had to give a deposit of $250.00 to secure a spot, also we asked for a high chair for a toddler. We arrived 10 minutes early on Mother's day and the door was locked until 1:59pm making us wait outside. The atmosphere is perhaps the big wow factor. The server handed us menus and we asked about the brunch that was advertised, no reasons were given, just order off the menu . Also no reasons we're give about why they couldn't accommodate us with a requested high chair. I saw a couple other families inconvenienced by the same issue. My older grandson ordered his steak raw and received it well done. He was to polite to send it back. A few of us ordered the Bartelby burger which seemed to be the best thing on the menu to order besides the scallops. I ordered a dessert the apple fritters which had almost no apple. The last issue is not willing to divide up the checks and making one person have to pick up the entire bill. Unbelievable! If you only want drinks or appetizers fine- any else questionable.

Had a nice dinner at Bartleby. The drinks were delicious and our vegetarian friends found entrees to order. The dining room is beautifully decorated but we found the music a little too loud where we were seated. I'd definitely suggest reservations. We sat at a booth but some of the seating is lounge type seats with a coffee table height table which would make cutting a steak or eating pasta quite a challenge.

Recently sat down for brunch at Bartleby one of Ohio City's Hottest New Restaurants. As soon as you walk into this space you are blown away at the intricate details of the decor. After ordering drinks we started off with something Sweet. Hubby ordered the Chocolate and Vanilla Waffles and I selected the French Toast. I really loved the candied pistachios and lemon curd topping that came on the French Toast. For something Savory I selected the Bartleby Breakfast Burger and hubby ordered the Steak and Eggs. Hubby's steak was cooked perfectly and had a yummy chimichurri sauce drizzled on top. Overall we really enjoyed our dining experience. The food and service was great and we will def be back to explore their menu more!!!

I have never been to this place before, this is my first time ever trying it. This was my parents second time trying this place. I was looking at the reviews of this and was confused on why this place only had 3.5 stars on google. If you have high taste for expensive food and restaurants then you will absolutely enjoy this place, however, if you are used to non high taste and expensive food and go here, you may not be used to the taste. It's perfectly okay. As a starter, I got the ricotta and bread. The bread was soft, yet you can tell it was roasted because it had that roast taste to it. The ricotta was soft, creamy, yet tasty. It's not processed like at the super market. Soon, I also had the octopus as a starter as well. It was absolutely delicious. First off, the octopus wasn't chewy at like the super market, it was soft, and easy to chew. I'm surprised that it was easy to chew, considering I have braces, and all of the octopus I've tried so far is always chewy. The octopus was big, considering it was real, not processed. However, I did think the ink was a bit sweet, but enjoyed it nonetheless. Next for my actual meal I got the salmon. The salmon was nice, I got a big piece. They served it with warmed yogurt, couscous, and a variety of other things. The salmon was very nice, its juicy, and not dry. However, I feel like you could also eat it with some sort of sauce. The food is in generous proportions, and I was definitely stuffed after eating. So stuff that I had to take home my salmon, but like I said, it was absolutely delicious. However, I didn't get dessert. I usually get dessert but I was stuff and also not in the mood for it. I also got the monkey's paw, which is described as a tropical and fruity alcohol free drink, considering I am 16 and not old enough to drink yet. It is very nice, and almost tastes as if it actually has alcohol in it. I recommend this drink for anyone, remember, sometimes alcohol free doesn't always mean for kids under the age of 18 or 21. Next up is the service. Our waiter was a nice man who was very kind with us. He recommended us a bunch of stuff, and even if you didn't get what he recommended, he was still very kind. He brought us water, the ricotta and bread, soda, and some drinks for me and my mother. Faren is his name (I think?). If you asked him questions he'd give his honest opinion about the food. He asked us for dessert, or if we had to take home some things. I was very happy with the service. Next is the ambiance. I loved the place, it is very well decorated. Even the bathrooms! It is very well clean and we didn't have to ask for anything. They light candles for you, the bathroom has a heater, and it's very well nice.

I was so excited to try this new restaurant which use to be one of my favorites, Crop. The ambiance is great don't get me wrong but the lack of seasoning in my pasta didn't make up for it. It was my friend's birthday so I wasn't going to be rude, but the pasta dishes her boyfriend and I ordered was lacking something. When I asked the server for some crush red pepper(I never ask for this) I'm sure she thought it was a weird request. Sadly the mushroom pasta was not a success in my opinion. I might come back for brunch but the only thing I enjoy was my adult beverage and the truffle friends my friend ordered with her meal. So disappointing as I wanted to love this new revamped establishment. The service was phenomenal, I just think the kitchen still has some kinks that need to be worked out.

Truly one of the most beautiful restaurants I have dined in! The ambiance is amazing and it was such a fun experience. The servers were very attentive and impressed me with their service when I saw how many tables they had to handle. As for the food, it was very good. The menu is interesting and definitely seems to be evolving. I was disappointed they do not serve the crab pasta anymore, but we got a few small plates to share which we enjoyed. The cocktail menu is small, and the drinks are overpriced for what you get, but it was a very cool experience anyways!

We were delighted with our experience at Bartleby's. Our server, Faron, provided excellent service. They provided just enough interacting with us, offering suggestions and giving us space for our evening. We both throughly enjoyed every course, food came out visually beautiful and full of flavor. We will return. Thanks to all of those it takes to pull a dinner together. Back of the house as well as the front of the house.

The overall experience was about a 7.5. Out reservation was for 7:15 we were seated until 7:45 . We were told our table was not ready yet. When we're seated we're sitting at a very low table with low couches. The food was a 6. A little lack luster.

Overall: 4/5 Vibes: 5/5 Drinks: 5/5 Food: 3/5 I came here to celebrate my friend's birthday and we had a reservation for a party of 13. The vibes are absolutely incredible, it feels like it was in an old bank. They definitely have that dark academia aesthetic, and I love all of the mirrors and books. While their cocktail menu is limited, the cocktails that we tried were very good. I had the hummingbird, which is definitely on the sweeter side but very yummy. Overall for the food, we really enjoyed the starters (arancini, crab fritters, and truffle fries), but the mains were somewhat underwhelming. I had the angel hair pasta, which was quite light and delicious, but could have been more seasoned. That seemed to be a common sentiment at the table, as the Bartleby burger was good, but was mainly meat and could have used more seasoning (eg garlic aioli). The steak frites were savory and soft, but could have used more of a sear and juicier flavor. Would definitely recommend this place for the vibes and drinks, but at the price point, I would hope the food were better.

I came here for brunch and got the Bartleby burger. I would say the most memorable part of my meal was the decor of this place, which definitely contributed to the cost of the meal. The whole place has a dark ambience with lighting mainly from natural lighting from the tall ceiling. But the food itself left a lot to be desired. The burger bun tasted bland and sightly stale, but the patty itself tasted fresh, though not super flavorful. I think this is definitely a restaurant for certain individuals and certain scenarios: mainly those who wants a good environment rather than a meal that will blow their socks off.

A gorgeous restaurant in CLE! I must say the folks that designed the interior did a fabulous job making the most of the large venue that was once an old bank building. Some of the original architecture is still there (i.e. the beautiful ceiling). This gives the feel of a charming library mixed with a bit of a whimsical 'Beauty & the Beast' vibe. Bartleby is excellent just for the venue itself. We made reservations a week before for a small birthday celebration. Seemed tough to get a table for Friday night at a normal dinner hour, but as the date got closer, we saw some openings. We were promptly seated and waited for our server. There were just 2-3 other tables dining at the time and what seemed to be just 1-2 servers assisting. Our service was slow and we had to remind him of some things we ordered. After an hour we asked about coffee that was ordered and he admitted he forgot. A French press was brought out. I guess we were used to coffee just coming ready in a cup and weren't quite sure on what to do with the French Press. When we mentioned it has been a while as in since we used this, we were told 'sorry, I can't rush the coffee from being made?" Strange interaction. We asked for suggestions on vegetarian options and cocktails but didn't really get much help on that. We had to flag someone down often for water refills. I don't know if they were just short staffed or if it's the norm, but it takes away from the experience of dining in such a beautiful space. Wish the staff was more friendly and attentive. Food we ordered included cauliflower steak (do not get this - just a cooked slice of cauliflower on a bed of sauce), Bartleby salad (this was alright), fettuccine (okay, but was a bit overly creamy), pesto arancini (basic), a side of truffle fries (didn't taste much truffle, but portion size is huge). The 'if you must' and 'pomologist' cocktails were decent. The best thing I had that evening was the complimentary dessert they brough out for the birthday. I think it was a creamy tiramisu. After dinner, we decided to take photos by the tree and asked the hostess if she could take them. There was no one else there and she clearly wasn't busy because she was playing games on her phone. With a rude irritated look, this young blonde hostess came over and snapped a bunch of terrible photos and didn't smile at us once. Again, horrible attitude and service. Overall, the rating is mainly for the beauty of the venue. The food is nothing exciting, but surprisingly the prices are not outrageous. They should work on enhancing their menu options to align with the vibe of the place vs having burgers and fries on the menu. Also, consider adding more vegetarian friendly options too. Staffing needs improvement as in hiring more folks and training some on better attitudes towards patrons. If not dining, this would be a place to grab a drink by the bar and avoid the hassle of dealing with the staff. You will need to look for street parking in the area when dining here.

I had been meaning to come here for a while and I came here for my birthday, and I was so glad I did! The menu was as appetizing as it sounded. I especially like the Ricotta and Steak Frites. The place was packed and the service was a little slow but worth the wait. The space was gorgeous with tall ceilings and interesting art. Great for a special occasion or just for a fun night out with friends. Can't wait to come taste more of the menu!

This might be one of the most beautiful restaurants in Cleveland. Truly! The ambiance is incredible. The high ceilings, dark vibes, real candelabras, and faux greenery are chic and enticing. It reminds me out of something from Beauty & The Beast (and I mean that lovingly, that was my favorite movie as a kid). The chairs were super comfortable. We had a table for two with lush velvet seating that might have been one of the most comfortable restaurant chairs I've ever sat in. Our drinks were amazing. I ordered a dirty martini and it was strong and expertly made. The vibe in the restaurant was dimly lit and perfect for a date. We could also actually hear each other talking, which was delightful! For dinner, I had the ahi tuna. My boyfriend had the steak frites. For an expensive $40 entree, I was disappointed my dish was so simple. A beautiful piece of artisan tuna on top of a small bed of coleslaw. I was still quite hungry when I finished and had to pick at my boyfriend's french fries (he noted his steak was fine but not memorable) as this was my dinner. I think we would both choose different entrees if we return, as these are expensive dishes for what you're getting. Maybe small plates and drinks for us next time. Our server, Keegan, was outstanding. She was kind, funny and very attentive. They appeared short staffed and she was handling her many tables like a total pro. I'm happy Bartleby has such a great team and I hope they can continue to evolve and grow their menu!

The atmosphere is exotic, very upscale.... which is surprising considering the prices were very reasonable. I'm normally not an advocate of white pizza, but get this if you're interested in any pizza as it's the best white pizza I've ever had

Absolutely LOVED my experience at Bartleby this past weekend! We got: 〰Crab Fritters: lump crab meat, scallions, corn, lemon dill aioli. These were pretty good but ours were just a little over cooked. Loved the corn in them! 〰Bartleby Salad: local greens, beets, cherries, Gorgonzola, candied walnuts, citrus vinaigrette. My favorite part of the salad was the vinaigrette. 〰Grain Salad: barley, arugula, pistachio, apples, dried cherries, chives, lemon. Loved this! It was fresh and light. 〰White Pizza: Boursin, mozzarella, parmesan, house made ricotta, garlic oil. I've never had Boursin on pizza but it was a great addition! We added tomato to our pizza as well. 〰Angel Hair Pasta: lump crab, Calabrian chili, chives, lemon, breadcrumbs. My favorite part of this dish was the crispy, garlicy breadcrumbs. 〰Salmon- Israeli couscous, cucumber, dill, yogurt sauce, mint. I didn't try this dish but it looked amazing! Bartleby recently opened in Ohio City, taking over the space where Crop Bistro used to be. The space used to be a bank in the 1920's and the architecture is amazing! Inside you can find a moody ambiance represented by lighting mainly given via candles and low light. The walls are lined with bookcases, giving it a sophisticated vibe. The menu offerings are approachable, from salads, to pizza, to salmon. Service was pretty good, although our dishes took a little longer than anticipated to come out. I really enjoyed my visit and can't wait to come back! Overall rating: 9/10 Price: $$-$$$

BIG disappointment. Service was inattentive. Every glass on the table was bone dry as our waiter was MIA. By the time our meals arrived, nearly 2 hours had passed and the candles had burned down to nubs. The food was inedible. The waiter said I should have told him sooner about my meal. This establishment serves overpriced drinks and does not understand the first thing about food service or hospitality.

Definitely worth checking this places out for the awesome vibes. Service was good, ambience was fantastic, food was great, drinks were alright. We wanted to try so many things on the menu, end up with the grain salad (delicious - must try), arancini (didn't think it was anything special), truffle fries (yum), white pizza (alright, probably would not get again), salmon (great) and a side of the fire roasted asparagus (good). I would recommend making reservations.

Was SO excited to come here and unfortunately it was a a VERY sub par dining, service, and reservation experience. I am usually so positive and try to give all new restaurants a chance, but I would steer clear of here for dining, I absolutely do not recommend the food as the quality was extremely subpar, sort of reminded me or the food at Pioneer. I made reservations long in advance for 2 at 6pm on a Friday and arrived 10 minutes early to a line outside in the freezing cold. It would have been nice to know in advance that the restaurant does not even open the doors or begin seating until 6pm. I put in the reservation request that we were celebrating a birthday and they provided no special experience or even recognized it until mentioned. We immediately noticed the glasses were extremely dirty, not just at our table but multiple others. We were seated at a table far in the back against a book case with no view, when I requested to change tables, the owner said nothing was available although we were within the first 5 parties to be seated for the night and noticed multiple tables open throughout our entire dining experience. The drinks were over priced for the quality and although we were aware there would be an up charge we were not indicated of the up charge for different liquor. Many of the items tasted microwaved, it was obvious the items were not prepared fresh. The steak and frites were fatty and under seasoned, the fries tasted like fair fries, but actually somehow worse. The menu is extremely limited with subpar options that do not seem to go together or form an actual menu. The crust on the crab pizza tasted store bought and the crab was not fresh at all. I believe many of the items were from Aldi's to be honest. For the prices, the dining was extremely underwhelming. Although the interior beautiful and our waitress was friendly - we've actually seen her at pioneer as well, we had a far less than ideal experience at Bartleby, however we remained polite throughout. It would have been simple to swap our reservation to another 2 person table but the owner refused and was non apologetic. Even on the way out the hostess did not thank us for visiting or speak to us at all even though she was clearly not busy. There is so much potential with new ownership and training for the staff, but unfortunately I would not recommend for dining. Maybe visit for a quick drink and the atmosphere, but I would absolutely not go out of my way to celebrate anything here as it was possibly one our worst dining experiences in Cleveland.

Food is a 4, vibe is 5+! This restaurant feels like it should be somewhere way cooler than Cleveland. The decor is such a cool aesthetic and at the same time so grand. The food was good, nothing too amazing but when it's paired with everything else at the restaurant it makes it a great evening out. I recommend the crab fritters and their cocktails!

First of all, the building, the decor and the vibe in this place is top notch. Awesome for a date night or to take someone out to show them some impressive architecture. The food was above average but not great. If they could lock in a little better on food execution, would quickly be a 5 star place. Still recommend checking out.

okay. to start off. SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PLACE!! the interior was absolutely stunning. my sister even said it looked like a very fancy church the only reason i put this at a four-star was just because of how slow food was coming out in comparison to the "busyness" of the restaurant, granted, i don't know if kitchen staff was low or whatever the case may have been, but that's the reason for my four-star. our server, i believe his name was will, was so great! he was super polite and even took one dessert off the bill because in his opinion, it took too long, which he did not have to do! such a sweet guy! very friendly and overall great. wasn't overbearing and made sure everything was going smooth during the dinner. the food--in my opinion was great! i really liked the rice balls, so so good! and the white pizza was great. im really into cheese so, im not hard to please ‍ the country bread was alright, nothing crazy, just bread. my sisters both enjoyed their entrees, one got a salad with chicken (cleaned her plate) and the other got salmon and she enjoyed it. i would most definitely come back here again, this place most definitely has potential! i really enjoyed my time.

Hubs and I chose this dinner for our anniversary. Overall we enjoyed our experience! Our server was attentive and polite. Cocktails were very good. I got a specialty, and our food was good as well. A few things, like the octopus appetizer, I thought were overpriced. But the restaurant has fantastic ambiance and we would go back :).

A restaurant in an old bank! Truly a picturesque place to visit and eat. Menu is not big but we all liked our food. Salmon and cod cooked to our satisfaction. Wonderful and unique cocktails. It would be 5 stars with some easy and small changes. They only take one bill per table, which is annoying with 3 couples. Music was slightly too loud for casual conversation. Wrong glasses for champagne. Overall, a good experience and would recommend. It could be great!

As soon as you walk in, you notice the tall ornate ceilings. It's beautifully decorated, and the food is amazing.

They one thing that's good about this place is decor . Overpriced cocktails served by unfriendly people. They also would not split checks for 4 people " it's our policy". So prepare to sit and do math on your day off.

Last night we tried the newly opened Bartleby for the first time. The remodel of the space is absolutely stunning, easily one of the poshest feeling restaurants in town. Prior to arrival, we had a hard time finding the menu online so I made sure to snap a few pics to add below. Note, our server stated that the menu was still in its soft open phase and that they are tweaking it a bit each week. The Pros: Tremendously beautiful space and atmosphere! Seemed well-staffed and the staff seemed well-trained and attentive! The salmon (ordered by 2 of us) was absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared. The cocktail we tried, the If You Must, was attractively presented and delicious. The wines we tried (prosecco and the Rioja) were both good. The Cons: The menu still feels like a work-in-progress (which, as noted above, it is). The steak frites (ordered by the other 2 diners) had mixed reviews, one described it as ok/good, the other as not at all on par with what it should be. The crab fritter appetizer, while tasty, had no discernable crab flavor at all. The wine list is a bit limited. It also seems a bit unusual to put 2 Beaujolais on a red wine menu that only has 4 offerings in total. The Verdict: We'll definitely be back as Bartleby is too lovely of a spot not to revisit but will give a bit of time while they work out the kinks of the menu and perhaps expand/refine the wine list. Look forward to visiting again sometime this fall.

Amazing decor. Food had imbalanced flavors. Soggy mushroom pizza. Kaffir lime was too heavy on the Grouper. Grouper itself was made perfectly. Salmon dish also had imbalanced flavor combinations, acid too high. No valet service in a Saturday night.

The decor is beautiful, and that's where anything good to say ends. We came for brunch, and by the time we arrived (1230) half the menu was no longer available. They had to make substitutions for our dishes. The server was forgetful and preoccupied, and also she had an overall very bad attitude. The food was okay, nothing I couldn't make at home with a trip to Aldi, and it was $80 for brunch for two. Oh, and they don't split the check. Dont even think about it. And definitely don't even ask Keegan to do that otherwise you will ruin her entire day. She will even circle around back to your table like multiple times after you've already paid to have something else to say about it lol. Obscene. Read the fine print before you dine here otherwise they hold it against you. Two stars is for the beautiful decor which was amazing, and they had a pinot Grigio that was good.

Tried this spot while exploring Ohio City for brunch. Very cool vibe: amazing ceilings, cool decor and a variety of seating options. Our server was attentive and friendly. The cocktails were tasty, but pretty pricey for the size. I got the chocolate & vanilla waffles and my friend got the French toast. Both were incredible. My only complaint was the waffles were a much smaller portion than the French toast, same price. Will definitely be back!

First thing you notice at this restaurant is how beautiful the whole restaurant is. Super high ceilings, dimly lit with candelabras everywhere, the vibe is unlike any other restaurant you would find in the Cleveland area. Very much of a upscale feel, that being said i would not say this is children friendly. One thing that really amazed me was how late the kitchen is open! As work can go pretty late and life gets busy, it is extremely accommodating that you can come at a late time and NOT feel like you are rushed to order and finish up before the kitchen closes. LOVE this about them. Food was delicious, but as you can expect, pricey. We got the filet minion and the ribeye with truffle fries. Filet and truffle fries were literally the best I've had in Cleveland. SO GOOD. the ribeye was mediocre. Staff is also super nice and I told my waitress it was my first time and she gave me a very nice rundown of the menus, was very patient with us giving us recommendations and was super accommodating when I didn't like my drink by quickly replacing it with something I like. Overall, I give it 5/5. The ONLY negative thing I have to say is the menu is really ugly to look at. They need to make it easier to read and not just two pieces of paper. But besides that, everything is phenomenal.

I would recommend this place for appetizers and drinks for a cool vibe before you go out to hit the bars. Or a semi nice dinner date. The food was good, but I've had better pizza and pasta before. The drinks were really good. The ambience is so cool!

Excellent service (on expensive side) Dinner was Delicous (chicken and steak) Bread with ricotta appetizer (yum!) but the Best part was the Beauty of this place! So worth a visit!

Food was mediocre at best. Servers were snarky and ill prepared. The space is amazing but not worth going to. Pop your head in and check out the architecture but don't waste your time and money eating and drinking there.

The restaurant is beautifully designed and is a true dining experience. I just wish the food was as good as the design. The pesto arancini was tasty but the dinners were nothing to write home about. The bathroom wall paper impressed me more than the food. I had the grouper, and they left the fish skin on. Instead of it being crispy, it was slimy an blubbery in texture, just plain unappetizing. The apple fritters are not good. The apples were raw inside and tasted like month old apples you would pull out of the back of the fridge to use up. I would not recommend these at all. Maybe if you came here for appetizers, not dinner, it would be better. I wonder if the pizzas are the key. It seemed everybody was ordering the pizzas. The other challenge is the check. If you have multiple people in the group that need to pay separately, you have to request an itemized bill so you can calculate who had what. They don't bring it to you. They just come and ask for a credit card to pay the entire bill. If you go here, hopefully you have cash because they only take two credit cards per table. This place is more about the Ambiance than the food. I left a bit disappointed especially since it was a special occasion dinner. I am not sure I will return for dinner.

Super cool, unparalleled atmosphere complete with a diverse high-end, yet affordable menu, drink offerings (although cocktails are a bit expensive for being batched, but still tasty). This is a go-to for celebrations, date nights, girls night outs, and everything in between. They have a crab, corn, and boursin cheese pizza which doesn't necessarily sound fire but holy heavens, it's so good.

The building and the atmosphere where amazing. Nice decor and good music. We ordered the arancini, fettuccine, and burger. The sauce for the arancini tasted like ketchup. The fettuccini was okay. The meat at the burger tasted spoiled. I mentioned that I didn't care for the burger and owner said "this is what grass fed beef should taste like, maybe don't order it next time." We also discovered there were multiple people that complained about the burger the same night.
