"The only concern you’ll feel at Base Face Pizza is for the cartoon pizza by the till, who appears to have fallen off his skateboard and banged his tiny crust head. Don’t be too alarmed—the smiling, clumsy cartoon pizza mascot is giving a smile and thumbs up anyway. That’s the happy-go-lucky nature of this little pizzeria in Hammersmith. Between the wooden classroom-esque chairs and the array of tiny humans experimenting with dough stick jenga in high chairs, Base Face Pizza is the ideal spot to go on a casual playdate with some pepperoni. The sourdough pizzas all sound like trending TikTok dances in the making—the Truffle Shuffle, the Cheeky Pineapple, the Base Face—and are reliably chewy, and the latter comes with a whole milky burrata. A whole burrata sits on a sweet tomato and soft, chewy dough throne with parmesan added on top, because clearly this pizzeria shares our affections for dairy.
