My wife and I had a delightful visit to Basecamp at Kennesaw Mountain. We both ordered pancakes and fried chicken-hers were the classic original, while I went for the cinnamon pancakes. Let me tell you, that fried chicken was absolutely outstanding-juicy, succulent, and just perfectly done. It was so good, I couldn't help but wonder who was behind such a fantastic dish! We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Jim, who was genuinely warm and a joy to chat with. Their smoothies are top-notch, and I enjoyed a comforting hot chocolate that hit all the right spots. The setup is simple and stress-free: you order at the register, take a number, and choose any seat you like. The staff brings your food right to you, which makes for a relaxed dining experience without the wait for a server. All in all, it's a spot I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and a welcoming vibe.

Google
Cute place and high hopes walking in. It ended up being a bit disappointing. It was a major red flag to me that they didn’t offer fruit of any kind, except for an apple side that was described by the cashier as the inside of an apple pie. The chai latte was a sugar syrup chai flavoring which was exchanged for a tea bag. The skillet breakfast with gravy was not flavorful. The avocado toast was good but small portion. The Nashville Chicken was deemed tasty with good spice. The pricing is expensive for the overall quality and quick serve restaurant (QSR) business model.

Excellent find. Close to Marietta medical offices around the hospital. All three of our orders were wonderful. We had: - French Toast and Fried Chicken - Bacon/praline pancakes and Fried Chicken - Smash burger with side Caesar Salad The chicken was cooked perfectly, crispy and moderately/heavily seasoned and salted. The praline/bacon topping for the pancakes was a great touch. My son enjoyed the Smash Burger and the Caesar salad dressing was not too garlicky but just right with plenty of parmesan grated cheese tossed in. Jim, the owner, is very personable and introduced himself to each table. His Louisiana roots were apparent in many of the menu items. Even though it is almost 30 minutes away from our home, we will be back to try more of the menu. The restaurant was clean and well cared for. Thank you Jim for a great experience. Watch their hours. Some online information has the wrong hours. According to their website they are currently open 9am-2pm on Mon-Friday and 8am-2pm on Sat-Sun.

Google
I always enjoy my visits to Basecamp. It’s hard for me not to get the Chicken & French Toast every time. It’s nice that they have an outdoor seating area so I can bring my dog along.

Google
Best breakfast I've had in forever. Super friendly staff. Every dish for our group was excellent. I recommend the bacon-infused pecan pancakes with fried chicken. Friday's fish fry is over the moon. I had the cod and it was fabulous.

Google
Absolutely the best!! The beignets were fantastic!! The breakfast was yummy! Best chicken(Nashville) that I have ever had! And Jim, the owner is a wonderful host❤️❤️❤️

Google
I had an amazing experience here today. First time and wow the food was AMAZING but the service and the people even better. Everyone was so nice and friendly even when they were super busy. I got their fried chicken sandwich and im literally im coming back next week to eat it again because of how good it was. Shoutout to Victoria who was going around the tables asking if everything was okay. Super friendly and great with customers. Going to be returning many times here. 10/10

Google
Kid friendly! I love that there’s changing room in both make and female bathrooms. Chalk and blocks outside to play with. The French toast and fried chicken was great! The skillet was okay. Too much gravy and eggs had no flavor. They need more gluten free options on breakfast menu. There’s really nothing.

Yelp
Always love the breakfast here. The biscuits are so fluffy and buttery! Someday I will try the lunch or dinner. It can get crowded and eating outside is nice if the weather is ok. Good service as they helped my mom with her coffee.

Yelp
This is a nice place to stop in for a quick bite to eat or a good coffee. We dined in later in a Sunday afternoon & the restaurant had plenty of seating. It was also very quick to put in an order. The staff were very friendly and nice. Their meals are decently priced. There are a good amount of breakfast and lunch options. As far as the taste, everything was just okay & lukewarm. It wasn't terrible by any means....the good being hot would have greatly helped the cause, but overall the food was just okay. The fried chicken was very tasty, but I wish it would have been warmed a bit more. The drinks are self serve minus specialty coffee drinks. The natural lighting and plentiful parking make the restaurant a convenient, comfortable, and welcoming stop, especially after a hike at the mountain.

Yelp
The restaurant is very cute and has a good location near Kennesaw mountains so you can grab breakfast and go for a nice hike or a walk right around the corner. When we went in, we were told to take a menu and then order at the host stand and then be seated and wait for our food. We got the Nashville, hot chicken sandwich with one with cheese grits, and one with hash brown casserole. The sandwich was delicious , not too spicy, but had enough of a kick. As far as the sides go, the hash brown casserole was a winner and I would definitely order that again! The hostess didn't seem very friendly. Maybe she was just having an off day, but this being our first time there I was definitely hoping for a little friendlier of an attitude. We didn't really have a server, they bring out your food and leave it and then we were pretty much on our own. We didn't need anything which was fine.

Ashley V.

Yelp
Delicious!!! Food came out quick and hot. We got the famous french toast and fried chicken and the Nashville hot chicken. Lavender latte was also tasty. You order at the front and pick a dining spot. They bring the food to you! New favorite spot!!

Yelp
Came here for a quick breakfast on Sunday. I have been to their sister restaurant multiple times and Marietta Local is solid but think I actually like this location a bit more. They have everything and more than Marietta Local. I had the classic fried chicken and French toast. Everything was hot and the apples were so good on the french toast. Also tried the cinnamon roll pancakes and they were hot and tasty. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the biscuit because it was cold and usually marietta locals biscuits are nice and hot. My recommendations to better the experience would be to add the Marietta Local soda machine to this location. Love those unique sodas! Also adding fresh homemade jelly for the biscuits and fresh juices to the menu would take it to another level!

Yelp
Before receiving my food, 1st impression not positive. Sunday AM. Packed. Loud & Festive like. Lots of kids. All hard surfaces. 1 room. 'Open' kitchen. PRICEY. 3 pancakes, 2 scrambled eggs, bacon. Coffee. Tip. Total $30. Order in line, then get seat. VERY CREATIVE menu. Home made 'cathead' biscuits. White gravy. Coffee/drinks are serve yourself. Should have tipped only 15%. Minimalist approach. Nothing on table except S&P 'camping' disposable set. Grab extra napkins when squeezing around the drink stand. Server brings fork&knife wrapped in one. Tiny maple syrup plastic container. Wasn't enough for the great fluffy buttermilk pancakes. Small plate filled w/ my order. Bacon was excellent. Owner came by and another server a bit later. I'm sure I could have asked for more syrup. The quality of food is a 5. Hot, hits all the marks. Service is a 5, but I take 1 off for self serve and salad bars. Haha. Atmosphere...kid and family festive. With all the hard surfaces, I suggest outside, but it does sits back from busy road. (I finished my review outside and had a loud Camaro show his age.) BUT, when going to car I realized they have added picnic benches with tent coverings along the side. Finally, it was fast. They've changed a few process things to handle their popularity from a few years ago during my first time. All improvements in terms of speed. They need to be. On my way out, the line was long to order (10:30), maybe 15-20. Constant stream. It was Mother's Day. Assume this is a big breakfast demand. Well handled. Owner present.

Yelp
This is my second visit to Basecamp at Kennesaw Mountain and it's still great. It's a rustic spot in the mountains but has a very nice feel to it. Service is good. The young lady that took my order was so patient while my 5 year old niece made up her mind on what to order. Ordered my niece the kid's pancakes and I got the fried chicken and French toast combo and coffee. My niece tried my chicken and ate the majority of it. She liked her pancakes while I loved my French toast. The stewed apples were also good. I will skip the coffee next time. It was lukewarm and wasn't that great tasting to me. Overall, it's a great spot to eat.

Yelp
This was my first visit to Basecamp at Kennesaw and I was planning to order the French Toast. I ordered the bacon infused pecan pancakes served with fried chicken. My dining companion order the chicken Philly. We ordered the self serve drinks and this may have been some of the best sweet tea I've had in Georgia. All the food was served hot and fresh. I only had two small complaints. You pre-tip the servers which is perfectly fine; however, they only bring your food. If you need refills or anything else, it will require you to go inside and get it yourself. Also, the hand cut French fries were not crisp. This was a nice spot for breakfast or brunch especially if going for a hike up Kennesaw Mountain

Yelp
Love Basecamp, great food and super service. This is our go-to when we are in the area.

Yelp
Awesome dog friendly breakfast and lunch spot - perfect to stop at before or after a hike at Kennesaw Mountain. Got to meet the owner and the staff was very nice. He was telling me about his favorite dish- a chicken biscuit with the chicken tossed in Nashville hot sauce. I had actually just ordered exactly that and a side of apples. The apples were so delicious & the chicken biscuit was huge! It had a great flavor and was not too spicy. I think next time I would ask for a little ranch as also. My husband picked the French toast with fried chicken, apples, and asked for a side of their bacon pecan praline sauce. Wow that was good sauce! I didn't get to try the French toast because it was too good he "forgot" to save a bite. It looked amazing. They had an interesting tea selection of mighty leaf teas & I enjoyed the jasmine tea.

Yelp
Great B&G with eggs. Good coffee and juice with quick service refills. Good place for Sunday brunch.

Yelp
Great food. Sunday brunch to celebrate sons bday. It was crowded but our food was good in this age old establishment.

Yelp
Came here for a Saturday brunch & had a wonderful time There's plenty of parking in the lot and we didn't have reservations nor was there a wait around 1145am. I got the pancake special which was bacon praline pancakes & you can add chicken but I added Nashville hot chicken instead of regular. So good! And definitely worth the cost I also got a side of Mac n cheese and it was all delicious and a ton of food I ate about half of one pancake, the chicken and macaroni so breakfast for 2 days around $20 The staff were friendly & you self serve your drinks and some condiments. They take your plates upon departure and were all super helpful. They have patio seating and indoor seating & it's a casual vibe. Dogs common on the patio. I didn't see any cats so not sure if they allow all pets or just dogs.

Yelp
I can't wait to get back to Basecamp. I love the hometown atmosphere and great food there. Friendly neighborhood staff as well and after the meal we can walk into off at Kennesaw national battlefield park right down the street. But better yet sit and watch others climb the mountain.

Yelp
I have one word for basecamp.. YUM. This is an order at the counter and take a number to the table joint. There is a dedicated parking lot adjacent to the building. We were able to get a spot without a problem and the restaurant was full. In addition to the seating inside, there is outdoor seating right outside the front door and picnic tables set up under a tent along the side in the parking lot. The tables inside were placed pretty close together and there was only one tiny table available so we sat outside at the picnic tables. After ordering the food was brought out to our table. Everything was hot when it arrived. They did run out of jelly so they brought me sugar free jelly which was gross. The food, however, was spectacular. The burrito was huge and served with salsa and sour cream. The chicken biscuit was perfect. They didn't let me add bacon to my biscuit so I just ordered some on the side. The grits were amazing and the apples were the best I've had! We will totally return for another awesome breakfast. There are so many other things I want to try. I'm only sorry we waited so long to try it!
google avatar

Jazmine A.

Yelp
Ordered the bacon infused pancakes and chicken with a side of Mac n cheese. The chicken was ! The Mac was extremely bland, even after adding salt, pepper and hot sauce. Wasn't for me. The pancakes were soft, and the syrup seemed extremely thin, almost watery. The bacon that was cooked into the pancake was a little chewy for my liking. I gave it 3 stars because the chicken really was the star!
google avatar

Yelp
Came for brunch with a small group. I had the fried catfish with grits and ettoufe. I tried a bunch of other items and the one I ordered was my favorite by far. They have fish fry and Cajun specials on Friday and Saturday nights which I'd be interested in trying. Serving was quick and polite. Three single occupancy restrooms. Some TVs around.

Yelp
Came in on a Sunday morning at 8:40am and was quickly seated and served right away. The idea of having fried chicken with French toast-- instead of waffles-- was very tempting! This plate did not let me down!!! It was a delicious mix of perfectly cooked fried chicken with amazing French toast. The cinnamon apples that came on the side were also on point. Definitely recommend and wish I lived closer so I would come back any time!
google avatar

Christian C.

Yelp
The food was amazing and the service was great. The wait wasn't long at all! The ambiance is so cute! I can't wait to go back and try the other items on the menu!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Great food for some southern comfort breakfast!!! You must order the fried chicken for an option for your entree. Sweet tea is also a must when you're here.
google avatar

Katrina G.

Yelp
Went to this restaurant on a Saturday morning. Upon arrival there was a small wait because you place your order at the front and then receive a number and seat yourself. Drinks are self service and the server brings the food to your table once it's ready. The service was pretty fast for the amount of customers they had. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. I ordered the French toast and fried chicken. The chicken was seasoned really well and the French toast was pretty good. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
First time here and the reviews on YELP are the reason why! Great food and the owner makes everyone feel like family!!

Yelp
Counter-service type restaurant. Order at the counter and pick a table. Very fast service and great quality food! Will be coming again. I only tried the breakfast food but the lunch menu looks quite appetizing as well.

Madison D.

Yelp
We brought a group here for a lunch during our off-site event, and it was great. Everything came out quickly, especially for a group our size, and the food was fresh.
google avatar

Joy B.

Yelp
Great food. Great service. I love the window bar seats. Parking is easy and free. Great place for family meals.
google avatar

Jessi P.

Yelp
I was entirely overwhelmed with my experience here. The menu was incredibly small, the dining area was chilly, and the staff was just ok. With all the great reviews I was really hoping to be blown away. The food I had was mediocre.... if I'm being honest writing this review I'm not even having any memories of it good or bad. All in all, not a bad place but not memorable and many better choices in the area.
google avatar

Russell G.

Yelp
Great breakfast experience. We all had the fried chicken and French toast. We all enjoyed it. The chicken was fried just right. It was seasoned just right. We ordered as we came in and received a number to get our order brought to our table. The French toast accompanied the chicken. We enjoyed the small but roomy dining room with table for 4 seating. We got our own drinks and waited for our food. The wait was Short and the good was good.
google avatar

Elizabeth J.

Yelp
Wonderful brunch, amazing food! Don't leave here without trying the Nashville hot chicken. We'll be back!
google avatar

Autumn S.

Yelp
I miss mountain biscuits :( After having that this place place is pretty disappointing. The decor is cute and all but the food was very "meh." I was especially turned off by the eggs because they look like powdered eggs. No flavor. Not a single bit of spice. Very bland. Pancakes are the star of the show and I would highly recommend you get those if you order anything. Biscuits and gravy were "meh." The way you order your food is sort of weird... I just don't think we will come back on our next visit.

Yelp
I've had Basecamp bookmarked for a while and since I live in the area now I decided to check it out with a friend. I didn't realize that they are affiliated with The Marietta Local in Marietta Square. I believe they have the exact same menu. I decided to try " The Marietta Local" which is their signature dish of chicken & french toast. I'm actually not a big fan of french toast unless it's the sticks. The dish came with a fried boneless chicken breast and two slices of thick french toast topped with apples. I didn't care for the apples so I didn't eat those. I thought the food was decent. I'll probably come back and try the pancakes next time.
google avatar

Nathan G.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast/brunch location! French toast was both soft and crispy (I know, both), and the chicken had a great flap or. A little spice to it, almost a paprika flavor. Was a bit more expensive the I was expecting, but still very tasty.
google avatar

Alison E.

Yelp
Long overdue review This is my favorite spot in the area. Great for breakfast and lunch. The owner and staff are friendly and truly appreciative of your patronage. Highly recommend the Nashville hot chicken or the French toast.
google avatar

Montana M.

Yelp
Came here with a coworker for a welcome breakfast on a Thursday, and was so impressed with the friendly staff, comfortable environment and pretty location (definitely right at the base of Kennesaw Mountain) that I came back a week later on a Saturday for brunch and a hike with my boyfriend. It was busy on Saturday at 9:30 AM, but we didn't have to wait more than a few minutes in line and got our food within 15 minutes of ordering. We got the biscuits and gravy, the fried chicken and challah French toast, and two coffees. The biscuits and gravy were the best by far- do not miss Basecamp's homemade biscuits. The fried chicken and French toast was also very good, but the apples are cooked in an extremely sweet glaze, so if you're looking for a lighter breakfast it may not be for you. There is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, a decent amount of parking, and you are about five minutes away from Kennesaw Mountain. Overall, a great experience and I'll be back!
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast food and lots of space to bring a family! I really enjoyed their signature chicken & french toast dish as a fresh twist on the chicken & waffles trend. Service moves quickly. the only thing that would have made it better is if you didn't have to order at the counter and could have someone wait on you. But the staff is great so that doesn't matter in the end. Enjoy!

Melita T.

Yelp
As much as I come here, I can't believe I haven't taken the time to write a review. I usually wake my husband up every Sunday to come. While I do live closer to The Marietta Local (same owner), I enjoy driving out to Kennesaw to eat here as well. Let me start off by saying that I admire the people who run this place because it's ran very efficiently. It's cafe style dining (in my opinion, it's faster) and the staff while check on you while you eat. There's not a time I've come here and have had a bad experience. The staff is extremely friendly and warm. The food is always fresh. There's even a little patio outside if you want to bring your fur baby. You can't get any better than that. Oh, and if you haven't realized it by now... the food is darn good and fairly priced. As I've been trying to include in a lot of my Yelp Reviews... please remember to give these folks in the restaurant industry grace. This is a very tough time for restaurant owners and the employees. The staff here treats everyone with such kindness. It can get busy at times but I never mind a wait or if service takes a little longer because I know I'm getting a quality meal in a pleasant atmosphere.

Pam T.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast. Great biscuits and coffee. Friendly service. Very clean. Great location , very convenient to walking trails at Kennesaw Mountain
google avatar

Jeff L.

Yelp
The food was okay. Breakfast with a mac-n-cheese was strange. The Bride's skillet was so salty that she could not eat it. It was our first visit and snurly short gal told us that we needed to place our order first THEN we can FIND a table. A gent delivered our food and I asked for a glass of water. He delivered a full to-go cup of water with a lid and a straw. After we stopped eating, snurly short gal asked if she could take our plates. The Bride asked for a glass of water. Snurly short gal brought my Bride an empty to-go cup and walked off. Wow. Customer service? She wants repeat business? I'm sure the owners love their problem child? We'll probably never return.
google avatar

Jennifer G.

Yelp
We waited a long time in line. It was a Sunday and probably about 1:00ish so about an hour before close...we couldn't tell if it was just people not knowing what to order or the person taking the orders....we stuck around because we had hiked about 6 miles and we're starving and knew if we drove somewhere else it would take awhile. After getting our order we sat and waited for our food for longer than I would have expected. It was close to closing time but still took a bit to get our food. The Nashville hot chicken was OK...nothing too daring with spices and the chicken Philly was ok too...again food was fine- had we not waited in line for 20+ minutes to order maybe I would provide 4 stars. There is a lot of space and you can sit indoors or outside. They have a marker being the only restaurant within several miles of Kennesaw mountain...but I'm sure there are better places in Marietta or Kennesaw that would provide an overall good experience.

J T.

Yelp
If you want a true staple in Marietta, this is the place! There are only a handful of places that I can take my kids and have them finish their meal without shouting at them to finish! If you are looking for fried chicken and a great brunch place, this is the place to be! I try to come early on the weekends, but don't make it here until after 1 when the biscuits are sold out. I have been wanting to try their biscuits and gravy for the longest time. Word of advice: wear stretchy pants when eating here. You'll thank me for it later.
google avatar

Kim T.

Yelp
Very busy establishment however the food came out quickly. Nice and clean restaurant.
google avatar

Sarah G.

Yelp
Deeply disappointed. This used to be my family's go to brunch spot. Last time we tried to go they'd removed gluten-free pancakes from their menu. :-(
google avatar

Paticas P.

Yelp
Lovely, family owned place. The ambiance is very welcoming. We are out of towners visiting family. The food was really good food and EXCELLENT coffee. We had the egg scamblen with Spivey chicken. Delicious. We will definitely return when we are in town.
google avatar

Julianna M.

Yelp
We love The Local, so we had to give Basecamp a try. We already can't wait to go back! My husband and I both had the fried chicken. I had the mac & cheese and fries for my sides, and they were both outstanding. My husband had the fries and the cinnamon apples, which he loved. Ask for a side of hot honey for the chicken. It takes it to the next level. Also, the service is top-notch. Ample parking with indoor & outdoor seating. We'll be back soon!
google avatar

Melanie M.

Yelp
Delicious and delightful place to have breakfast or brunch. Will go back here if we are in the area again!
google avatar

Matthew H.

Yelp
I've wanted to stop here for years! We finally did. Stopped in after hiking Kennesaw Mountain at 10:45 and we wanted biscuits and something without chicken. Ordered two biscuits and they were out. The menu is very chicken heavy, which made it challenging to order something without chicken. I'm sure some people love this place, but from my experience and being out of biscuits at 10:45 on a Saturday morning, unfortunately I won't be wasting time coming here again.
google avatar

Yiven C.

Yelp
Review is strictly for the chicken and cheese biscuit. Why you set up camp +'s: + Fluffy biscuit. Fluffy and buttery makes the bite memorable and tasty. + Tasty chicken. Not dry and fried perfectly. Add the cheese and you have quite a large chicken biscuit to consume. I ate half for the morning and the other half for lunch and I'm not a light eater. + Good deal. Chicken and cheese biscuit $6 for its size is value. It's not processed and I'm supporting a private business. + Courteous greeters. On a weekday morning the staff had a smile as they greeted their patrons. + Spacious seating. Clean and comfortable seating abound. A line of patrons started to form around 8:30 am on a holiday eve. Why you leave camp -'s: - Take out order was not stationed. We rang the bell twice and no one came. The kitchen staff saw us and ignored us. Finally we went to the dining area to get some help. Later a sign was noted on the take out counter to go to the dining room to seek assistance. Overall I would return to get the chicken and cheese biscuit for the reasons noted above.
google avatar

AR R.

Yelp
Very disappointed, we ordered the bacon, egg and cheese was very tasteless. The bread pudding pancake special was another disappointment, it did not taste like bread pudding at all. This was my first time here and I was really excited about it but as we walked in the floor was so sticky, as if you were at a dive bar. I had high hopes but unfortunately I will not be returning.
google avatar

Evan C.

Yelp
The food I ordered was 2 raw patties and no flavor biscuits and gravy. I would never order this again. But my wife ordered 2 french toast and chicken and it was great. So if i ever, if I ever go back I would get the french toast and chicken. I am not writing this place off but will give it another try. Also it's weird to order before sitting and asking for a tip before getting service. Normally that's what fast food places do.
google avatar

Peter K.

Yelp
First off the service was great. We got food to go and it was brought out in a reasonable time given how busy the place was and how understaffed they are. Now for the food Nashville chicken was pretty good(it could be a little hotter). The sweet, sour pickles were a nice touch. The part about the dish was the fries. They were undercooked and greasy. Not sure if they do twice-fried fries, and some grabbed the wrong batch. I had to toss them out after a few, thinking only a few were undercooked Burrito is massive and was excellent but greasy, but you have to expect that from a chorizo burrito. The French toast and chicken were okay. The French toast seemed to lack flavor. Like it was not dipped in a seasoned egg-milk mixture. Finally, the specialty pancakes were pumpkin spice. But that was the flavor of the whipped cream on the pancakes. The pancakes themselves tasted like regular pancakes (my daughter thought the same thing and she loves pumpkin anything
