The Restaurants & Bars Featured On "Love Is Blind," Ranked - Seattle - The Infatuation

"For such a high-stakes moment like Jackie sneaking around with Josh when she should be at a dress fitting for her wedding to someone else, the producers could have scouted a moody speakeasy, or Golden Gardens during a cotton candy-colored sunset. And yet, here we are at a goofy coffee shop in corporate South Lake Union. We’re not sure what’s more scandalous—the two of them smooching behind Marshall’s back, or the fact that they sat down without even ordering a latte." - kayla sager riley, aimee rizzo

Google
Such a cool neighborhood coffee place, where they organize several events and they even rent gear for camping, and other sports. Coffee is really good and a perfect blend of espresso and milk, it’s my 2nd time here and the best part is they’re open till 7.

Google
Great coffee, average food (we got the tofu sandwich/wrap). Lots of place to sit and work from. Great staff also. We went there around 10am on a Friday morning. Good wi-fi as well.

Google
This place has a cool atmosphere and possibly is a decent coffee shop. But man is this the worst food i've had in a LONG time. They should be ashamed if this is their standard. The croissant was just about as good as the bulk croissants are at Costco. Possibly it was those. It had a nearly frozen and dough-ey center that was unsettling to bite into. The breakfast burrito was clearly the same thing you get at a roadside convenience store and was taken out of plastic with a nutrition label attached. Looked like something out of the frozen isle at best. They just shoved in a panini press before serving. The exterior of it tasted so bad. Almost plastic-ey like the way a new water slide or inflatable mattress smells. Plasticky fake and inedible. If your passion is not serving food then don't serve food. This brings down the whole brand to me to an intolerable level. Spending nearly 20$ for this absolute crap has my whole day going the wrong way. Edit: I reported this to staff which I normally wouldn’t do. They handled this nicely and got me a refund. They also said they would talk with their vendor. The burritos seemed fairly popular so perhaps this was just a fluke.

Google
Changing my 5 star review because out of the many times I’ve been back, almost daily over the past few months, only that first time was a good one. The quality of the drinks has been incredibly inconsistent and the recent times I’ve gone it’s been the worst. For the insane prices, that’s just not cool. I feel like I’m being taken advantage of here and I will no longer be coming here. Such a shame I thought I found a great place to come everyday. Beyond disappointed.

Google
The overall best coffee shop in Capitol Hill, even if you don't care about skiing or outdoorsy stuff. Though some others have slightly better coffee (Vivace, Analog), Basecamp takes the trophy in atmosphere, interior, and community. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The interior is roomy and spacious and cozy, with diverse seating options. Basecamp regularly hosts community events: presentations, music, trivia, boardgame nights, and private events. Vertex couldn't have chosen a better business to full the post-covid first-floor retail vacancy. I like the place so much that I've signed up for a membership; I pay a monthly sub so I can get free coffee and tea, and I come here often enough for that to pay for itself. The only downside to Basecamp is that it suffers from its own success. Space is at a premium on Capitol Hill and there's no other cafe that has such a cozy, spacious interior. Consequently, it stays busy at all hours with folks working on their laptops, and sometimes finding a seat is tough. Their recent Wi-Fi changes have made it slightly more difficult non-members to spend long stretches of time in here, but a receipt still gives you 4 hours of WiFi access.

Google
Absolutely loved the atmosphere here!! It was so peaceful to sit at the beautiful wood tables amongst beautiful plant specimens. The kombucha on tap was AMAZING, Lemongrass flavored, strongly recommend. The mocha had good espresso but it was too sweet for me. It kind of tasted like drinking chocolatey lucky charms. Those with a sweet tooth, enjoy!

Google
The coffee at Basecamp was delicious and they had some excellent varieties and choices. The concept is really cool focusing on the ourdoorsy vibe of the region with some guide books and supplies for those trips to the wilderness. The staff were super friendly and the vibe of the place was very relaxed, especially on a weekend morning when we visited. Perfect spot to visit before exploring Seattle and beyond.

Google
For how expensive the drinks are, they shouldn’t be getting my order wrong 9/10 times. They don’t always say whose order is up, just place it out and then you have 3 of us staring at each other wondering who it’s for. The food is prepackaged and mid. The attitude of the baristas is “I’m here because it’s a job”. Analog coffee is right down the street yall don’t do this to yourself.

Yelp
Coffeehouse/cafe with a cool vibe, with a limited menu of food but a wide range of coffee and other drinks, including local beers. Enjoyed their sausage egg and cheddar breakfast sandwich which was premade but livened up on the panini grill. Their chocolate croissant was delicious warmed up. The Americano was high quality as was the iced ube latte. Service was friendly and pretty efficient too
google avatar

Yelp
basecamp is such a cool concept that combines a cafe and outdoor gear rentals. they also host group outings in the outdoors! the barista was so nice in helping me order and serving me when i came in. i ordered an espresso with sparking water while my friend ordered an ube matcha. the espresso was quite sour whereas the ube and matcha flavor was not present in my friends drink. if i came back, i would definitely try something more tame such as a latte as they look good!! this space offers great opportunities to be outside as well as a space to work but it does get quite crowded. **the wifi will be on your receipt so remember to ask for it and is only valid for 4 hours as well

Yelp
Had a brown sugar rosemary latte, it was delicious. Price is a little steep, $9+ and they don't accept cash so I took off a half star for each of those. The place is cozy and the barista this morning (May 19) was great! ETA: Almost all other businesses in the area accept cash and haven't had any issues with break ins so I'm not buying that as an excuse. Also, doesn't matter why your lattes are $9+, they're still $9+. Removing another star due to the excuses being made.

Yelp
Basecamp is a super cute coffee shop with great vibes! It is located close to the cap hill link station, making it a convenient place to stop by. I really like the ambiance of this cafe, it feels very cozy and is great for studying, catching up with friends, or playing games with friends (they have a great collection of board games!) It can get pretty crowded but the cafe is relatively large so I haven't struggled to find a place to sit yet. Their drinks are good, nothing special, but I will be back again for the vibes!
google avatar

Yelp
Such a cool place!! The only downside is I never came sooner. I've been seeing signs for this place and finally decided to visit and it is such a cool concept. A gear rental place/lounge/cafe. Came to study and it was absolutely packed. Luckily there's a lot of space and seats and outlet. I got a lavender latte and I'm obsessed! Usually lavender lattes are too subtle and not very flavorful but this one had such a strong lavender flavor it was perfect. They also play great music and the overall vibes there are pretty nice

Yelp
Found this place on Yelp, it was close walking range from our airbnb and I am so glad I did! The classic coffee cafe vibes are paired with an adventurous side with all of their camping gear, it's a perfect place for on the go coffee or just to sit down and relax or do some work. The baristas are super friendly as well, overall, great vibes and drinks!
google avatar

Adrienne D.

Yelp
I ordered a macchiato and chocolate croissant. The macchiato is a true Italian macchiato. However, if you like the Starbucks version they can make you one. The croissant was really good. I got mine slightly warmed and it was perfect. This is an ideal spot to study and get work done. There's ample seating and chargers. Had a great time here.
google avatar

Seo C.

Yelp
Spacious and nice ambiance but the coffee was a bit disappointing. Compared to other coffee shops the price was slightly higher yet my coffee tasted a bit burned. Just didn't have that great taste I expect from a well-made latte. Also, it turned bubbly (not foamy) couple of minutes after I received it. Bummer since the service was good! The space is cool and would make a good place to meet up with friends or to get work done. This cafe seems best for the people who joined their program and for those looking for nice aesthetics.
google avatar

Emily T.

Yelp
Super cute little cafe! Came here to do a little reading in the evening. They didn't have any baked goods (but we came later in the day), so I ended up getting their house made lemonade which was pretty refreshing. They offer burritos and a nice size coffee menu. Lots of seating inside and a really cool spot if you're looking for local and outdoorsy things to do! Looks like a wonderful place to meet new people!
google avatar

Jillian L.

Yelp
I love the concept of Basecamp!! You can rent gear and get coffee, at the same time! And, they have tiers of memberships where your coffee/gear is included or discounted. The owner, Evan, works hard to create an outdoor community and listen to feedback to make it even better. The staff is friendly and tons of outlets to work. There's booths, tables, and couches so it's pretty easy to find a place to sit but it's usually busy so at peak times, you might have to share.
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
This place is so spacious, clean and cozy, which is a very rare find in the metropolitan area. Even though I knew non-members could come here, I didn't for the longest time thinking that it was mostly for people into sports. The majority of patrons during the day are just coffee-loving people trying to get work done, so it stays very quiet. The tables and booths are huge so you never have to worry about feeling cramped. Also, their honey lavender latte is really good.
google avatar

Sophia M.

Yelp
What a cozy café with delicious high-quality coffee, friendly service, and inviting atmosphere. The space is huge! Lots of seating, perfect place to read, work, hangout, relax, play some board games. They serve specialty drinks like espresso-based beverages, pour-overs, and cold brews, along with locally sourced pastries. This is a Perfect space for outdoorsy lovers and cafe lovers.

Yelp
Stopped by Basecamp Coffee today and ordered a 12 oz iced latte and a dirty chai. The total came out to $16, which felt steep given the taste. Unfortunately, the drinks were nothing to write home about At this price point, I expected something more enjoyable. Additionally, the barista taking our order was constantly playing with her hair, which was unappealing and didn't give the best impression of cleanliness. There are far better coffee shops in the area, in my opinion, but I wanted to try this one given all the positive reviews. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype, and I probably wouldn't go out of my way to return.
google avatar

Jinny C.

Yelp
Bright and open cafe with a strong sense of community. There are a lot of tables and seating area where people were working or chatting and there were a lot of flyers and information about gear rentals and events at the cafe itself. I just stopped by for a quick espresso (which was good) but I'm looking forward to coming back
google avatar

Yelp
I've been to basecamp on two separate occasions and both times it's been packed and lively! It's a true third space location -- there was even a poetry group meeting at the table next to me. They also host numerous events and the last time I went was their trivia night! I would say to be mindful of their calendar of events since it got pretty loud as I was studying. You can also rent gear here which is pretty cool :) I ordered an iced caramel macchiato ($7.17) and it was really good!! They also have beer on tap which gives variety to the usual coffee and tea found at cafes. Also I thought the workers here were really friendly! They're located right in cap hill and I love that they're one of the few cafes open so late (7pm-9pm depending on the day). Also there's tons of seating even with how packed it gets!
google avatar

Yelp
Love love love everything about this cafe! I stop by every time I'm in Seattle. The ambiance is lively and friendly, the baristas are phenomenal and so kind. I usually go there to work but its easy to get caught up in conversations about outdoor adventures and gear, or distracted by the adventure books and maps in their library. The design of the whole place is such a fun vibe, and you can tell they really worked hard on the details that make it special. Stop by and try their house-made syrups! I usually order my latte's plain, but not here. The rosemary brown sugar syrup is to die for. They also have a small food menu so if you're hitting this place before a hike, you can get a yummy breakfast burrito and a pastry to go!
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
Very good iced americano and burrito. It's a lively place and I just barely found a seat. The barista was nice, albeit a little absentminded.
google avatar

Huizi L.

Yelp
Pretty good coffee although not better than what we brew at home with our own espresso machine But y know when you sometimes just want to sit down and not be at home in a morning, maybe meet some friends, read a book. The ambiance is very relaxing. We also had both burritos. Sunrise is better imo. Mushy potatoes plus cheese melt is
google avatar

Katherine Y.

Yelp
Cozy cafe with plenty of seating! I tried the rosemary latte which was okay. I didn't really pick up on the rosemary note and it was a little sweet for my taste. The blueberry scone on the other hand was great! It's softer than a classic crumbly scone but I still really enjoyed it. The staff here are super friendly and I'd definitely come back to try another drink, explore more of their baked goods, and maybe check out their happy hour (they've got beers on tap!)
google avatar

Mel G.

Yelp
Super cute and service was good !! Loved the matcha and coffee so much we finished it before we took a picture :)
google avatar

Diana C.

Yelp
This place is a really cute spot to do work or read or meet up! They have lots of space and it seems they also have outdoorsy clubs and equipment rental too from the space. The baristas were kind and able to do a decaf latte for me since I came in the evening, but wanted to try the seasonal lavender latte special. They also seem to serve food all day, so I also had a breakfast burrito at 7pm. Came for silent book club Capitol Hill but I'd definitely return to do some work or reading some time.
google avatar

Katie L.

Yelp
Great cafe in my neighborhood to grab a coffee or beer and get some work done. I'm really picky about where I go for working on my laptop (I find that most places have an uncomfortable chair-to-table height ratio), but Basecamp has plenty of seating options--especially a lot of tables-- and the chair-to-table height ratio is great!! I can, and have, sat here for basically an entire workday, fueled all day by espresso and a beer to wind down the day. Fast WiFi, lots of outlets, and lots of table space as I previously mentioned. Love that the happy hour is from 3-7pm, and the coffee is pretty good for the most part. I haven't utilized their gear rental or gone to any social events...yet.
google avatar

Utsa S.

Yelp
I got the peppermint mocha latte hot and it was like Christmas in a cup. Great drink and good vibes, will warn that lots of people come here to work (very work friendly) but the downside is that it is sometimes hard to find a spot. Came around 12:30pm on a Sunday and it was packed. But people filter out so you can find a seat if you wait
google avatar

Abbi H.

Yelp
If you were to ask me what Subaru loving PNWers are all about, I would send them to this shop LOL - on the real though, they do actually rent out outdoor equipment and promote climbing/running activities to folks coming through. They provide QR codes to sign up for local clubs, which I thought was a really nice touch. I highly recommend coming here! I came in a bit later in the day, which I know can be annoying for baristas when they're trying to close shop but the barista was still super welcoming and friendly. He suggested I order an iced tea brewed on the spot which was the right move. It was lovely while I got some writing done but also really nice that he had still taken the time to make it despite being the only one on the floor when I was there.
google avatar

Nikita S.

Yelp
I came here to meet a friend, but the service was extremely slow. I waited at least 15 minutes just to place my order. I tried the flat white coffee, but it bad. I was really disappointed, especially given the great reviews this place has. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

Andrew N.

Yelp
Basecamp is one of the best cafes in the capital hill area, if not the best. I frequent cafes every week habitually and Basecamp is one of the only cafes in Seattle where I expect the baristas to be cheerful and friendly every time I come by for a coffee. The music isn't overpoweringly loud like in other establishments in the area either, the seating is very comfy and the wifi always works.
google avatar

Michelle Z.

Yelp
The coffee is delicious and reasonably priced (a lot cheaper than the rest of Seattle). Plenty of inside seating and room. People are so nice and friendly. If you're looking for a community of outdoorsy coffee lovers, Basecamp will be granola heaven. Also. CONGRATS to Gearhouse for expanding and growing!! I remember going to your flagship and the story of your humble beginnings. I'll be coming here every day in June. (But for real tho)
google avatar

Ally C.

Yelp
I came here to study with a friend. The inside was super cute and on theme for the cafe. I don't know why it did not occur to me that you can actually rent ski/snowboarding equipment here! I thought that was a cool twist for a cafe. It reminded me of when you get done skiing and just want to relax in a lounge with hot drinks. I got a mulled spice Americano, which was a lot sweeter than I thought it would be, but still yummy. It was pretty loud for a cafe and busy on a Monday afternoon (it was a holiday so this is understandable). There is a lot of seating and a lot of people were studying there. I think it was a little too loud for me to study, but I still enjoyed the atmosphere!
google avatar

Sophia T.

Yelp
Very cute, spacious, and comfortable outdoor themed cafe with lots of inside and natural lighting. We wanted to find a place to concentrate to plan our future trips. This place is a perfect place to study, chill, or do any work. The service here is so attentive as they noticed we were struggling to connect to the WIFI, so they offered us their employee WIFI. The booths have charging outlets that are underneath the seats. They weren't working when we were there, but this place is still new so they'll get it fixed. I believe that our neighbors booth's charging station was working for them, just not ours. There's an area in the back where you can rent any outdoor gears here and join Gearhouse if you're wanting to dive into a new sport or find a community of adventurous people. Also, they have all sorts of drinks provided here other than coffee such as kombucha and beer. There's street parking around here if you can find a spot. You can also order your coffee to-go, but since we were staying here to do work we didn't get to-go. We saw that there was a dog inside sitting at the booth, so next time we'll definitely try bringing our dog here! :) Ice caramel macchiato - We got their version of iced caramel macchiato, which they asked us from the very beginning if we wanted it Starbucks's style. We said yes! :) The coffee was so yummy, well-balanced, light, not too sweet, and creamy. We'll definitely be back here and can't wait to try their other drinks!
google avatar

Shaida H.

Yelp
Busy coffee shop that you can also rent outdoor gear from. Lots of different seating options; it seemed like a lot of people were working and studying here. We walked so unsure how the parking would be.

Yelp
Basecamp Café Looking for a super cool café that also serves kombucha and local beer? Check out Basecamp Cafe on Capital Hill! Just off Broadway, Basecamp newly opened last month. A fantastic place to get some work done or get together with friends and check out the outing events or just catch up with a drink. I'm not a member? That's okay, you don't need to be to check out the café/bar. But if you are interested in this gear sharing, outdoor adventure time with friends (or making friends) then this is the place for you. Events are posted on the wall and on their website: https://www.joingearhouse.com/ . I love this concept, expecially here in the PNW. The Drink Menu is very straight forward. Coffee and Teas ranging from $3- $5. While local beers that rotate are $7. Kombucha is $6. If you remember to bring your own cup for a $0.25 discount. Best part is that they're open Monday - Friday: 8AM-8AM and Sunday & Saturday: 7AM - 7AM. Check them out if you're in the area and need a place to chill or to check out their events!
google avatar

Maggie B.

Yelp
Went here for a Silent Book Club meetup and it was so cool! I'm so glad I learned about this place. Ordered the kombucha and loved it. Will definitely be back to take advantage of the rentals and community events. Atmosphere was great!
google avatar

Kathleen C.

Yelp
Nice, spacious and not too busy for a Saturday morning coffee session. Which is sorta hard to find sometimes if you're looking to get some work done or do some reading. Coffee was also good. Small pastry selection, but will do if you want something to nibble on. There's a whole other side of this show based around snow sports and mountaineering that we didn't engage in, but is cool for those that are interested!
google avatar

Chrissy T.

Yelp
This place was very much like an rei that serves coffee as well as sells gear for the outdoors. The sweetest barista and the most delicious coffee. I'm not usually a hot coffee person, but today was quite chilly so why not. It was delicious and such a great spot to work or study.
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
Best service and so welcome. Such a safe space to dine and just chill. . Lovely sandwiches and the best coffee
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
Very nice spot with places to sit to do work. Even though we were just stopping by, it was super comfy and warm with the light shining through the windows. If I were living above the place, I'd probably come here to work everyday. The theme is kinda winter sports which was cute so there's a bunch of skis and winter attire set up around. Also I saw they have some activities calendar that seems nice for people close by. Coffee is yummy. Nothing too extraordinary and the prices aren't too crazy. Idk if there's anything but street parking unfortunately but it's close to the metro!
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
I really enjoyed sitting here for a couple of hours. The ambiance was nice and chill in the late afternoon with plenty of comfortable seating. It was a good place to sit and be productive. I will definitely come back! What's really cool is the fact that the cafe is attached to the Gearhouse warehouse where you can rent a whole variety of outdoor gear. Definitely a good concept for space-limited urban folks.

Derek K.

Yelp
Nice place, very chill vibe and a great place to take a break and or study/working. Would definitely recommend this cafe.
google avatar

Thaila N.

Yelp
Super cute cafe with great coffee! The drip coffee was tasty and priced fairly - not much to say other than I would get it again. I also recommend their hot vanilla latte. The cafe is so spacious and there is a ton of seating. There are tables for getting some work done and also lounge chairs for conversations and relaxing. The theme is outdoors-y, so you are surrounded with warm natural colors and natural light. The space just radiated positive energy, and I would highly recommend coming here if you're looking for a comfortable place to get some work done.
google avatar

Anthony H.

Yelp
An urban coffee shop close by the light rail, with big open windows that bring in plenty of natural light. The shop itself harbors a cozy, outdoorsy atmosphere. The barista at the front was very sweet (did you know the light rail travels underwater during part of the route??) and the other staff seemed to be just a friendly. Plenty of seating w/outlets and the atmosphere was fairly quiet. The coffee itself wasn't anything crazy, just had a cold brew coffee and it was exactly what I expected. The menu items and their corresponding prices were also pretty standard. A cool feature of the coffee shop is a membership system where patrons get discounts on drinks and can attend group socials. I didn't personally sign up but I thought it was a cool feature Id share :).
google avatar

Dee M.

Yelp
We got a mocha, strawberry kombucha and on tap cider. Really liked the ambiance and the service. The only slight inconvenience was an elderly gentleman yelling at everyone. Other than that it was a great experience.
google avatar

Tim M.

Yelp
TLDR: chill vibes, great coffee, good WFH spot Came here on a Friday afternoon looking for a cafe to get some work done. Found this spot hidden away from the hustle and bustle from Cap Hill which was exactly what I needed. I got an iced vanilla latte that was oh so smooth and was the perfect drink for the hot summer weather. There's plenty of seating and the WiFi is good (had 2/3 bars but it was good enough for me). They also have happy hour for beer in the afternoon but twas not the time for me, maybe next time though!
google avatar

Michael James C.

Yelp
This place is great all around. There's so many words to describe the ambiance, but overall I will just say that it's a place that I enjoy being. For me, that's because it's a cool place to read/study since there's just enough foot traffic to satisfy my craving for human connection without having to talk to anyone unless I choose to. I'm asocial without the hostility-- unless I am provoked, of course. Anyway, I enjoy being here and am excited to sign up for membership once my budget allows. I wanna get that free coffee and take advantage of the snowboarding rentals and events cause my California nativity has been wanting to learn since surfing isn't an option for me here in Washington. That said, a undeniable 5 star experience thus far, especially because the two people that I've interacted with on staff here have been pretty cool. I like them :) One of them has a buzzed head and has this uncaring grace about them. The other guy is kindred. He IDed a book I was reading on my second visit here and was nice to make conversation. Since I am still relatively new to Seattle and the social climate here is weird AF between the college kids, heavy drug use in the streets, and hyper passive-aggressive tendancies of just about every young person between 18 and 40-- They've made me feel less crazy and aggressive dealing with some of these people in this city. Which is to say, they've both been really down to earth and I like them. Here's to being down to earth! And here's to cool ass coffee shop employees! This definitely ain't whack ass Starbucks!
google avatar

Brett S.

Yelp
I was looking for a warm and cozy coffee shop to get out of the rain last week in Seattle. I came across Basecamp and I'm really glad I did. I think it's one of my favorite coffee shops from an atmosphere standpoint with warm woods, cozy furniture, and all the ski gear around you makes you feel like you're sitting in a ski Lodge. It's so nice to have a place that isn't an ultra modern coffee shop, which can be very cold in their white and gray minimalistic designs. The staff was super friendly. I enjoyed a chai latte with oat milk and thought it was delicious. Try it out!

Yelp
Service Evan reached out to me personally as soon as I posted my review, and he has already processed a refund to my account for the coffee without my asking for it. This is a rare instance where small business owners not only take accountability but address customers' feedback right away. Not many business owners take the time to review and honor their reviewers' feedback, let alone address them. In this regard, Evan has gone above and beyond representing the top 1-5% of business owners who actually take the time to review and rectify. I will be returning to this coffee shop when in the area to give them another shot!

Yelp
I really enjoyed my rosemary brown sugar latte! It wad very smooth with just the right amount of sweetness. This place is a cool concept, with a very outdoorsy vibe, ski and outdoor equipment rentals, they also have groups that meet there. There is a lot of space for studying, working, or meeting friends. It's a short walk from my place and I'm pumped about having another gem of a coffee shop nearby!

J C.

Yelp
Coffee was cool. I thought the actual location was bigger, but it's more of an in and out type of spot.
google avatar

Diana R.

Yelp
The service here is phenomenal! All of the employees were incredibly friendly and even went above and beyond to give us recommendations on restaurants & things to do in the neighborhood since we were traveling and weren't familiar with the area. The coffee was perfect & balanced. The space was comfortable and spacious. We were traveling but this seems like a perfect space to get some reading, work done, or chat with the friendly baristas! oh, they also offered us a sample of their cold brew :)
