Basecamp Terlingua

One of a kind experience! In close proximity to the Big Bend entrance. The bubble was clean and had everything we needed. The fire pit and hot tub were a nice addition to the atmosphere and location. Visit during a meteor shower and you won't regret it.!

Our stay at Basecamp Terlingua's Bubbles (and Tipi) was an unforgettable experience for our family. From the moment we arrived, we were amazed by the unique setup of their accommodations. The panoramic views of the desert and night sky made for an incredibly peaceful and memorable stay. What truly stood out was the five-star customer service. The staff was attentive, welcoming, and went above and beyond. They were quick to assist with any requests. The combination of stunning natural beauty, luxurious comfort, and outstanding service made this a trip we’ll cherish forever. We highly recommend Basecamp Terlingua to anyone looking for a unique and magical getaway. We can’t wait to return!

Staying in the bubble was an amazing experience. We stayed in bubble 1 and I can honestly I have never experienced anything like it. To be able to see the stars from the comfort of the indoors was surreal. I am hot natured and the highest temp outside reached 100 degrees but I was never uncomfortable in the bubble. My advice is to keep the cover on until dark or it will be too hot. The bathroom is functional but it is a bathroom in a tent so keep that in mind. There is privacy but because it’s so quiet in the dessert you will hear you neighbors and all of their activities. Also in order to get a clear look at the sky you have to until at least midnight otherwise there will be a glare off of the bubble. I would definitely come back.

This was an experience of a kind - awesome. We stayed in Bubble No 1 for one night. Unfortunately the sky was a bit cloudy during the night. When it became clear at about 1 am the moon was too bright so that we could not see many stars from our wonderful bed just below the stars. So be careful to check the phase of the moon and the weather forecast. But the bubble was phantastic. It is all self check in. We got excellent information before and had no problem at all! You can make a campfire in the firering, but you have to bring your own fire wood! We knew it and brought it and it was an awesome evening! Very nice experience which we will repeat for sure, if we travel to Big Bend Area again.

We stayed at the Bubble X, it was an awesome place! It was not hot in the bubble at all like we were worried since the top was covered when we got there. We opened it up when the sun came down, like the instruction they provided. The surrounding was beautiful, during daylight or nighttime. We got the privacy we needed & thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

We loved our bubble. It’s hot right now so we planned ahead and brought fans which were a big help. With temps over 100 no way any air conditioner can keep up alone. They also have box fans at the store down the road to purchase if needed. At night everything was cool and quiet. So many stars. Looks unreal.

This was a wonderful experience! The nighttime views from the bubble are truly out of this world. During the day you will need to find other things to do… swim, hike at Big Bend or golf at Lajitas. Once the sun starts going down the fire pit is a nice day indeed down activity. Bring bug spray! The stink bugs were in attack mode. The stars are beyond words … the shooting stars the constellations are all so worth staying for!

We stayed in Bubble 2 for four nights. What an amazing experience. Easy to stay up all night watching for shooting stars. The bubble was spacious enough for two, the bathroom setup was great as was the little kitchenette area in the entry and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Staff was very attentive when we had a question and when there was a town wide water issue. They strive to make your stay comfortable. Great location also. Everything as promised. Highly recommend.
