Basement Burger Bar Farmington

I've been here so many time, it's hard to believe I have never reviewed BBB. Overall service had been good. Food is very good usually, but obviously a build your own burger/salad is 100% on you. Beer selection is usually very good with some consistent variety. Has always been a great place to eat, hang out, grab a beer, and sing some lareoke. Glad it's here, and I'll be back again soon.

Everything I've ever eaten here has been so delicious. I can't say enough how much I love the burger-your-way menu and absolutely delicious tater tots. Our service is usually fantastic too. I like trying the novelty drinks and playing games upstairs when we have to wait for a table. Sometimes the wait can be long at peak times so definitely glad that the arcade area is there. Also, I had the vegetarian black bean burger once and it fell apart kind of quickly but it was sooo delicious!

The restaurant delivers a pleasant dining experience with well-prepared food and a decent ambience. However, the overall experience was impacted by long wait times we had to wait for a table and then nearly an hour to receive our order. While the quality of the food and atmosphere were commendable, improved service efficiency would make the visit significantly more enjoyable.

Very disappointed. Love Farmington, but the service was terrible. SO SLOW, took over an hour for food and the quesadilla was VERY sad. The menu said loaded with cheese and it was far from that. I could have made a much better one at home. They forgot to add the chicken and the waitress seemed mad that I called it out. Don't get the quesadilla!!!!! The marg was good at least.

I visited my favorite burger place today, hoping for the same great taste I’ve always loved. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the same this time. The burger didn’t taste as good, and I couldn’t find that familiar flavor I used to enjoy. Really disappointed, as this place was always my go-to for a perfect burger experience.

Food was great. Happy hour kind of a rip off I asked bartender after I got bill and yueng ling is considered a craft beer so higher price. Also she said I order a cider craft beer after 6pm but I know I ordered at 5:58pm. Not a big deal and didn't want to argue with bartender but felt like rip off since I was charge about $6 more than should have been. The happy hour is what drew me to try this place vs the countless burger and beers bars in the area. Maybe this place needed the money because was not that busy yet. I won't be back.

Stopped in here the other day because my wife was craving a mushroom bacon, Swiss burger, and this place happened to have a “build your own burger” option which I absolutely loved because you get to pick exactly what you want on your burger. You get a menu and you get to choose the different meat patties, bun, cheese, sauces, and the different toppings for your burger. You also get to pick which temperature you want your burger cooked at so everything is exactly as you ordered it. My wife ordered a mushroom, Swiss bacon burger on a pretzel bun with grilled onions, sautéed mushrooms, bacon, and Swiss cheese. The mushroom, onions and bacon were an extra charge. I ordered a classic burger with ground beef patty, lettuce, white onion, and pickles with a garlic mayo sauce. We also ordered a full order of fries, which was large enough for us to split. For drinks we both ordered a St. Lawrence, which was bourbon and I think lemon juice with muddled oranges in it and maybe maple syrup. I’m not too sure, but it was absolutely delicious. Zach was our waiter/bartender and he did a top-notch job with the drinks. Upstairs they have an arcade/bar, but they were closed when we visited so we might have to check that place out as well. Next time we visit. I definitely recommend this place and we will be returning in the future

Good burger, fair prices, a a lot of customization options. Just not memorable enough for 5 stars. If you are craving a burger while in Downtown Farmington, check this place out.

Great spot in Farmington for a burger! Came with family and friends for dinner while in town. Had a couple drinks, burgers, and fries! Also a great concept to just check off what you want on the menu. The servers are there and helpful if you have any questions, but it is nice to fill out the menu and hand it back to them. The restaurant has a lot of seating and probably looks like what you were expecting when you read the name. The staff is friendly, however it did take a bit to be served and sat since the place was so busy on a Friday night. Definitely keep that in mind if you decide to check it out.

Wow!!!! Some of my favorite wings I've never had. This was my first visit to the Basement Burger Bar and decided to try the Honey Siracha Wings off of their specials menu. Sooooo so good. The wings were perfectly crispy, the meat was juicy, and the sauce was insane. Fries were also perfect! I will have to be back to try a burger. This was an awesome first visit!

Burgers were great, service was ok, the waitresses spent most of their time flirting with a table of teenage boys. The lighting was very dark (I get it's a basement), and after asking to have the lights turned up, we were told no problem, but they remained the same. Yet the music was turned up so loud that we could hardly hear each other at our table. Too dark and too loud.

Pretty interesting place in the basement level of a building in downtown Farmington. Plenty of TVs to watch sports and a pretty decent beer selection. The burgers on the menu were good but the customer burgers were better. Ask to get them smashed even rough it's not on the menu. The fries were outstanding. You can't go wrong with chili, cheese and onion fries.

If it weren't for the incredibly long wait, I'd give 5 Stars. Food was AMAZING!! The kitchen had a tough time with the build-your-own burgers. Tasty and fresh for sure, and cooked to perfection. Hormone free and antibiotic free. We waited about 5-10 mins before anyone acknowledged we sat at a table. Then after our 2 friends joined us, the 4 of us spent about 15 mins figuring out our order. Then after we ordered, it took over an hour before we received our food. Thankfully, we gave ourselves almost 2 hours before our event started across the street. We had to scarf down our order, pay, and boogie. Two of our orders were missing items. Mine was missing avocado and our friend's was missing fries. They adjusted our check so all was good but we were stressing about not getting to our event on time. Everything turned out ok. If you have somewhere to go afterwards, be sure to account for possible delays. All things considered, we would come back again, the food was that good. Bummer I didn't think to grab a few pics for this review. We were in such a frantic rush to eat, I forgot. Everyone enjoyed their order and agreed we will be back.

The food was good. The fries were the best though. They were crispy on the outside and like mashed potatoes inside. The burgers were all cooked to perfection each person at my table ordered it a different temperature and it all came up correctly. Onion rings left a little something to be desired they were definitely overcooked to the point of not even having an onion inside. And I'm not sure how I feel about all the a la carte editions as far as toppings. But the service was great The atmosphere was nice lots of TVs to watch sports plenty of creative alcoholic beverages. We got sat right away in our server was responsive. I would go back.

Cool atmosphere with plenty of TVs and a good selection of drinks. If you are seeking a Barcade, simply go up 1 floor. Known for their burgers. GF buns available. Ability to make your own burger with many options. Staff was friendly and attentive

The food was fine. However, it took a long time to get it. The restaurant didn't appear to be crowded. I asked the waitress about the wait and she said there were a few large orders before we arrived that took time to prepare.

We were acknowledged as soon as we entered. Husband ordered the Wegovy beef burger. Daughter and I ordered the smash double burgers. First off, the menu stated that the smash burgers are for only a limited time....we think they should be a permanent part of the menu. We were both very pleased. Husband very much enjoyed the Wegovy burger. The onion rings and fries were delicious. The waitress was attentive but not over the top with it. Zero complaints, will return.

I came to BBB one night with a group of friends. They were very accommodating to a large party who showed up on a whim. We had a variety of food which everyone seemed to enjoy. It was chilly since it's located in the basement so I was glad that I had a jacket with me. I will return soon to enjoy another burger.

Please explain me how to mess up with a burger. Just cooking the patty and it was not taste good. Service was good tho. and Yes, it is a basement.

The burgers here are always fantastic, and I love the endless options for customization--it's so much fun to build exactly what you're craving. Whether you want classic toppings or something more adventurous, they've got you covered, and the flavor never disappoints! Unfortunately, the cocktails are very hit or miss, and honestly, drinks leave a lot to be desired. I tried what seemed to be their take on a spicy margarita, and it ended up tasting like watered-down Koolaid with a splash of alcohol--not great. If you're coming, I'd say skip the drinks and focus on the burgers. That said, if you're looking for a place that has both amazing burgers and delicious cocktails, you might be able to find a better option elsewhere.

As might have been seen from my earlier reviews of Basement Burger Bar, this was our go to burger place. But, this last visit - I don't even know what to say. My daughter wanted a burger and we headed to Basement. First they told us there was a wait. Fair enough. We added our name to the list (3rd one down). After 30 mins we noticed their outside tables had all turned over. We had to go back in to get a table, where we were conveniently "next on the list". So, we sat, and sat, and sat, and sat. Wait staff looked at us. Walked by us. We ended up leaving.

I've went to the BBB in canton many time and loved it! Was out in Farmington for an appt so a friend and I decided to stop in. From the moment we got there it was awful. There were two of us and the host kept telling us to sit at the bar. We said we don't see two seats? She said right there! So I walked over and there was only one open chair....ok.... Figured I was missing something. Then she said we would have to sit outside which was fine. Got out there and there was a 4 top out there. Sat down and ordered drinks. We ordered our food a couple minutes after. Then about 35 minutes goes by... we ordered two salads. Totally understand the kitchen being backed up. Then realized the 4 top next to us had not eaten yet either. Wow , then a two top sat next to us. Needless to say they got their food before us. We saw the servers for both other tables so many times. I think our server came out 3x. Our salads came, I had grilled chicken. It was so hard a rubbery I couldn't eat it. Wish we would have had a heads up that our food would take over an hour to come out, I would've at least been more understanding but our server didn't even say anything. Won't be back to this location.

I had a BBQ bacon cheeseburger with bacon along with half orders of tots and onion rings delivered thru Uber eats because I got a gift card. You know that you are lucky to get even warm food that way. So I decided to visit the restaurant to try it again. I ordered the same burger but with half order of sweet potato fries. The service was good and friendly. All the sides are good, but the burgers to me is average at best. I have had much better BBQ bacon cheeseburgers at 5 Guys and Bagger Dave's. The burger was just too think and it over powered the cheese and bacon. Both burgers had not enough sauce so that added taste was also lost. I didn't even eat much of my sides when I was eating the burger because I an not a large eater. If you enjoy the bar vibe with lots of TVS and rotating beers, this is the place for you. But it is in the basement like its name states. I am glad I tried it but will go elsewhere for my burgers.

I've been there a few times and it's always delicious. The service is fast and good! I'm a vegetarian and the black bean burger is the best I've had in a restaurant. I will try the impossible meat next time. I also like that there is an arcade attached, makes it a fun atmosphere.

At this point basement burger bar is a well-known commodity in the metro Detroit area. In a city full of options, this has consistently been the best hamburger in town for me. I love the fact that they have so many Protane, cheese, and toppings options. Every combination I've ever tried has always been perfect. On this most recent visit I went with a buffalo burger topped with smoked Gouda and garlic aïoli. I practically licked the plate. The experience is always relaxed and enjoyable with many televisions always tune to sports. I could easily spend an afternoon here enjoying a few beers and watching sports. I am so pleased that this franchise has thrived in my town and look forward to visiting many more times in the years to come.

Good service and ambiance. The burgers and sweet potato fries were good. I am gluten free and the gluten free bread was pretty good here. My only complaint is the shape of the bread made it so I had to use a fork and knife to eat the burger. Overall pretty good!

This place was fantastic! The service was excellent, and the food was superb. The option to make your own burger was a hit with our group, although some of us ordered from the menu, and those dishes were outstanding as well. It's a cute and clean establishment that can get busy quickly. We visited during off-peak hours, so there was plenty of seating available. Our server was friendly and took great care of us. We will be back soon!

We placed a carry out order before 9pm and were told it would be ready in 15-20 minutes so we go to pick it up were told id be ready in a few minutes, 20 minutes passed and no one at the host stand came back out. So I proceeded to call the restaurant to inform them that my bf was in the lobby waiting for a carry out and they ask me are you sure he's at the right location I said yes he's the only one in the lobby. They put me on hold and then I got a text saying that someone finally came out with it but it had been sitting in the back for a good 10 minutes or so. Im just very disappointed with the lack of attention and no hospitality the restaurant has.

Basement Burger Bar is one of my longtime favorite burger spots. They offer great food with the ability to easily customize your order. Just to note, it's in the basement and there is no elevator.

Have been 2x recently. Once in Farmington (which is actually in a basement) and once in Canton (which is not). Almost identical experiences. Both times the food was great - would give 10 stars if available. The service? Meh. The wait staff was technically polite; not rude or anything. But, very inattentive and not at all friendly. Gave the whole place the vibe of, "I hate my job and don't to be here." I'm not a restaurateur, but I'm just going to take a wild guess and say, that's probably not the vibe you want to give off? This was at both places; hostess, and several waitresses. Kind of weird actually.

Service was not the greatest. The best part of my order was the tots. I asked for a medium-well burger and definitely got a WELL done (and quite dry) burger. I won't be going back.

I've been coming to Basement Burger for years and they've never disappointed. What's great about this location is that you can head upstairs to the 1up Arcade Bar for even more drinks + games after you eat. If you're going to come here chances are you'll end up getting a burger and they're plenty of options to choose from ranging from like most burger spots. You can order a beef, chicken, pork, black bean, and even an impossible burger. In addition they're a number of toppings/extras/condiments to choose from. My favorite combination is the Impossible Burger, on a Pretzel Bun with American cheese, Dijon mustard, Lettuce, Jalapeños, Red Onion and Avocado. Fries are Always a great extra, especially their sweet potato fries. The service is always great and their servers are very personable. With tons of options, great burgers and friendly BB is definitely worth checking out.

It's located below the arcade bar above it. I loved the way they do the menu where you check off items on the menu to construct your perfect burger. I've been here a couple times and it's becoming a staple for when I travel to that area for business. The service is great. We got there 15 minutes before closing the kitchen and were not turned away! We were informed we had to decide before they close up, but I think that's respectable for them and my party to consider. It's a cozy bar with TVs available all around. It has a front and back entrance for if you're coming from the street or going around the back parking lot. I'd share a photo if I had one, but if you like gourmet burger in a basement bar, you'll love this place.

Thought this was a cool little place. Bartender was very friendly. I went one night when they had trivia so that was entertaining. I ordered a sampler where I picked mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers and Mac and cheese bites. Everything was good besides the Mac and cheese bites were for sure that low quality frozen food crap you can but at your local grocery store. Guy next to me did a build your own salad. It was massive! It looked good too so maybe I'll get that next time.

My wife's sweet potato fries were cold and soggy, and they gave her a new order. My summation is they are too expensive for what you get. A $12 hamburger and $5 onion rings should be memorable... it wasn't. My wife's one mixed drink was $13.

Ordered a carry out and was told it would be a 20 minute wait. I arrived around 20-25 minutes after I placed the order. But when I got there it wasn't ready. I stood and waited almost an hour for my order. Which was only 2 salads

We were all highly impressed by this place, and this was my first time at the Farmington location - I have been to the Detroit location before, but only once, for a Yelp event a few years ago, and all of the food was good that time. I opted to do the "make your own burger" choice, and they have a huge selection of proteins - I got the regular house burger blend, but they also have Kobe "style" beef, falafel, grilled chicken, and even the Impossible Burger. From there you can choose to customize your burger, with some freebie options and some add-ons; for example, lettuce and pickle and tomato and things like that are free, but grilled mushrooms were an additional 75 cents, I believe. I got my burger with pickles, tomatoes, onions, 1000 Island dressing, and grilled mushrooms, on a pretzel bun (+$1), and it was delicious, albeit HUGE. The burger itself was also juicy and cooked to a perfect medium, as the manager pointed out when he stopped by our table. My dad didn't want a burger today so he decided to get the chicken parmesan sliders, which he enjoyed; my mom did the make your own burger and got hers with grilled chicken, BBQ sauce, and a few other add-ons, including cranberries. Both of us especially enjoyed the sweet potato fries, as it came with some kind of crack dipping sauce (a sweet cinnamon dipping sauce, which was fantastic). Total bill for 3 people would have been $30 which is pretty reasonable, too. The reason we stopped by is because my dad won a $15 gift certificate online, so our bill was only $15 because of that, before tip. Even with all the coronavirus stuff going on, the place was pretty busy on a Saturday night, so normally I can imagine there being quite a wait. I definitely will stop by here again when in the area, though, as everything was delicious. There's also free parking in the back, FYI.

So my friend has been raving about these Kobe burgers for weeks. He normally orders his to go but we decided to sit there and allow me to try this coveted burger. It is in the basement of the building, not just a name.. so if you have issues with stairs this might not be for you. The very first and most glaring thing I noticed was my service. We came in right at 5pm. Seats at the bar were taken but the tables all pretty empty.. it took forever for us to get greeted by someone and get a menu. Even longer to get someone to take an order. The food arrived timely but no one refilled a drink or checked in. Bill was brought and we were then asked if we needed anything else.. really?? I notice one waiter, whose area we were not sitting in was killing the service. So clearly we had either a new server, an inattentive server, or maybe she just didn't like us ‍ I was sooo put off by the service that I would never eat in this restaurant again. On to the food. The Kobe burger was everything it was hyped up to be. Flavorful, juicy.. perfect temp. The tator tots were a nice addition cooked with a nice crunch. I was quite pleased with my food, the optional add ons and the price of said food. Maybe we will fair better at a different location. The loss of stars is solely on our service, the meal was on point!

I really like this burger bar, it is a great addition to the downtown Farmington food scene. I came here recently with a group of 5 on a busy Friday night and was happy that our wait was not tooo long (maybe 20 minutes). It also is a convenient location to visit with friends or even a date as there is an arcade upstairs, plus Browndog next door for dessert and drinks. Everything our party got was tasty and I really like being able to create my own burger. The prices are fair and it's a great atmosphere to come here and quite lively. Service could have a been a bit quicker but there were no issues. Definitely visit this place if you are craving a burger and a beer and some fries etc!

Beer was cold. They took over 45 minutes to make 3 burgers. This would be okay if it were busier, but the table next to us was empty most of the time, on a Saturday night. Come with a lot of patience if you want a slightly above average burger, paired with an average beer.

When it's good it's good, when it's not, it's abysmal. Food is great. Drinks are ok. Getting a table is a crapshoot every single time. Sometimes you get seated after a reasonable wait and service is fine; next time you get seated immediately and leave after 20 minutes with not a server in sight; or you get a wait time that's nowhere near the actual time you were quoted, and you leave anyway because you're not confident you'll ever get seated. Love the food, but I can't go there without a backup plan.

We ate outside on one of their three patio tables right in the heart of Downtown Farmington. Our toddler daughter had a great menu to pick from, and she enjoyed the crayons and paper they brought her as well. Milk is offered for the kids, along with a lot of other choices. My husband and I built our own burgers and got a full order of sweet potato fries with a cinnamon butter sauce to share, and I got a side salad as well. He got a beer, and I got a pop. Everything was delicious, and the service was excellent. We always loved eating here, and it was great to bring our daughter here too.

Been here several times but lately the food is seriously lacking in quality. My black bean burger was lukewarm- the cheese wasn't even melted.

Sure their burgers are awesome, but I recently discovered their salads are equally outstanding too - not to mention ENORMOUS! For $7.50, you get the enormous monstrosity of a salad! Delicious greens & veggies, perfect chicken. I was so highly impressed. The downside? Their draft beer selection; it's rather sparse and lousy. But hey - you can't have everthing. Cheers!

The basement burger bar is always a fun spot to go. You can build your own burger or salad or pick something off of the regular menu. If you've never been, I would definitely build your own burger. They've got several options for patties from a standard ground beef, American bison, wagyu, or Turkey to vegetarian options such as portobello caps, impossible burger, or black bean. From their you can choose your toppings, cheeses, and condiments. Certain toppings and cheeses will cost extra, and the prices are all on the page you're marking up. I'm a huge fan of the onion rings and sweet potato fries for sides. The sweet potato fries come with this fabulous cinnamon dipping sauce.

Great food and service. The basement environment is different and unique. A nice place for date night!!!

They take temperatures, names, and you have to wear a mask entering and walking throughout the bar. I had pulled pork sliders, fried pickles, Mac and cheese bites, greek town fries, mozzarella cheese sticks, chicken tenders, and pretzels. My friend and I order two sample platters so we could try everything, the food was amazing ! Especially the fries!! the place was lowkey and cool. There's an arcade upstairs, and seating outside but it was closed during my visit.

Good beer, good burger, and really good onion rings. The rings were fried at the right temperature so they were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, and didn't pull apart. Good service and not too loud, even on a busy night.

The absolutely all time favorite burger place!! We usually order Bison, Turkey and Beef with sweet potato fries. The deep for the sweet potato fries is too die for. The beer on tap constantly changes and wait staff is great

What to say more. Burgers are delicious, I love their garlic mayo, but be careful if you are sensitive to garlic, this thing is strong. Both regular and sweet potato fries are very good too. The line can be long, and be prepared to wait four the food, but once you get it you'll truly enjoy it.

The food was horrible. The burger tasted freezer burnt. I won't be returning. My two co-workers said the same.

Holding to its namesake, this is a great place to get a burger. TVs available to watch a sports game as well. Service was pretty good too. Would recommend it !!

I love the Basement Burger Bar restaurant. The food is incredible. Delicious the staff and the bartender that was there when I was there. She was amazing. Super friendly. I had a wonderful experience there to make you feel like family. Thank you very much for my wonderful time at Basement Burger Bar. I can't wait to come by real soon and enjoy another wonderful evening at your establishment. Thank you very much.

Terrible food , poor quality, poor service . I would not recommend , don't waste your money
