Google
amazing place ! Highly recommended, good food , amazing dishes , will definitely come back

Google
Great service, great food. Very clean. Large portions. We came for lunch after the hike at the Cowles; wasn’t too busy but atmosphere was very welcoming. Most of the tables were taken, food came out pretty fast, fresh and hot. We were very pleasantly surprised. I always come to dry cleaners next door and never noticed this place. Will definitely be back and highly recommend it.

Google
What a great find! I saw that it was open and decided to get an order to go. The place is clean and if I had more time I would have loved to sit down and enjoy my meal there. The Pad See ew were delicious as was the curry puffs and the tempura shrimp! I also liked their Thai tea and it was a little on the sweet side but still good! I will definitely be back if I’m back in the area

Google
Very kind service and great food. Very friendly staff!

Google
This used to be our go to place . I don't like spicy and used to get Pad See Ew but we ordered on Sunday and it was spicy but we gave them a pass Ordered today Thursday and it was so hot couldn't eat it. I called and complained and they seemed indifferent. It's a shame they can't take responsibility for making something inedible. Bad form!

Cameron

Google
Foods is good but the first time I went I got up charged a couple bucks. Second time I went I asked for extra chicken and got charged for it, but didn’t get any extra chicken.

Marisela S.

Google
Food is spoiled It smells my broccoli was black . I requested a refund and I’ll bring back the food but they denied and said they don’t do refunds !

Winfrida D.

Google
I ordered the shrimp and calamari pad thai and the chicken Panang curry. I was really excited for this but honestly the pad Thai was really bland, the calamari tasted nasty and the shrimp tasted like it had been wayyy over cooked. I had a few bites and threw the pad Thai out. The panang curry was ok.

Yelp
Nice little restaurant with quick service and friendly employees. I'm very picky about my pad thai and this is one of the few places that makes it the way I like. Stop in and give them a try.

Yelp
Yesterday I placed a to-go order in an entirely empty restaurant for their drunken noodles with chicken spicy level 7. The cashier was nice and service was decent. BUT to my horrifying disappointment-- I got home to open my food and there was a black hair in my food. I immediately called the restaurant back and explained that there was a hair found in my food and that I preferred a refund. The receptionist tried to then tell me they CANNOT provide a refund to me but rather would remake my food. I was like absolutely not! Hair in food should not occur in this day and era because there are so many preventive ways to avoid hair in customers food. So remaking my food is not an option because at that point I just don't trust an establishment as far as cleanliness. After discussion, they agreed to refund me and that I would bring the food back so they can inspect it and confirm the hair. My annoyance in this is, that the woman after hanging up, shortly 5 min later called me again to confirm that I would be bringing the food back to which I said YES. Why would I keep or ingest food with hair in it. Anyway, I won't be back here again and if I could give this place 0 stars I would

Yelp
Found this place on doordash & ordered about 20 minutes before they closed because my daughter randomly wanted dumplings lol. We also ordered the spring rolls which were super filling. We enjoyed them and the sauces that came with both were super good and really made the dishes pop!!

Yelp
Came here on a whim with a group of 10 - were looking for a place to eat nearby, and someone found this place on Google Maps. First off, it was easy to find and lots of parking. Nice. The place isn't that big, but they seated us immediately. It seemed like a pretty happening spot - there were several groups that came in after us. Service was great, very friendly. They even had a Disney princess plate for my toddler daughter to use! Food came out quickly. Overall, the food was very solid - it wasn't the best Thai food I've had, but it was pretty good (I got the Beef Pad See Ew). I wouldn't mind coming here again. The portion sizes were pretty generous, so it's a good bang for your buck.

Yelp
Best Thai food in town. The big surprise is that there are Vietnamese choices too which are our favorites! The grape leaf is excellent! It's in a center before Old town La Quinta. Be sure to check their times! It's a must for dining, lunch or dinner.

Yelp
Very nice local business. Good Thai food and nice service. Thank you for a nice dining experience

Yelp
Nice, chill, authentic Thai restaurant that doesn't have a gazillion items in their menu but serves some of the most delicious dishes from Thailand. From someone who has lived there for more than a decade, I can say that this place is spot on from the polite and thoughtful attitude of the staff, to the lovely decorations and the soft Thai music playing in the background, to the presentation and taste of their food. If you're in the East County of San Diego, check this place out! There's plenty of free parking space and you'll definitely enjoy the food and excellent service. The restaurant appears to have clean floors, furniture, utensils, and restroom. You can also order online and get your food to go.

Yelp
Not too expensive and the food is amazing! Good portions for the price. The vegetables in the curry were tender and tasty.

Conie L.

Yelp
Honestly, I'm pretty disappointed. I've ordered Shrimp Pad Thai from this place before, and it was dry and bland--didn't really have flavor. I decided to give it another shot, thinking maybe it was just a one-off. This time, I asked for spice level 7, expecting at least some heat and flavor, but I think they forgot to add the extra kick. Good thing I asked for hot sauce on the side. It's just as bland as the first time. There was no spice, no depth, nothing that makes Thai food exciting. At this point, I don't think it's just a fluke--this just isn't the place for me. It doesn't taste authentic. Very Americanized. To be fair, the place is nice, clean and great staff.

Yelp
Not going to make a judgement about the food... I didn't get the chance to try it. I am here to slam the customer service. My wife and I called in a take out order to give it a try. We called the order in at about 12:15pm Saturday. The person that took the order told us it would be ten minutes. My wife sat and watched a few more cat videos after she called the order. After that, we left the house about 12:30pm, thinking we were giving them plenty of time to make the order. When we arrived about12:35pm, the order was not ready. My wife paid and we sat, waiting for the order. Keep in mind there were two people seated waiting on the order... in other words, the place was way less than crowded. We are now 20 minutes into the order. We sat for another 10 minutes (about 12:45pm) I then asked the waiter how much longer since were already 30 minutes into the order. Seh said it would be another 10 minutes. Again, keep in mind, the two people in the place are already eating thier order. And, we placed our order at 12:15pm. Well, we waited another 10 minutes since the waiter said that is how ling it would be. Still, nothing. We asked again, and the waiter said it would be 5 more minutes... We waited about 10, not wanting to be rude. At 12:55pm I made it a point to tell the waiter that this is the longest 10 minutes I have ever seen... We called in the order around 12:15pm, and it is now almost 40 minutes later. At this point, we had no estimate on how much longer our order was going to be. There were no other people waiting on orders, and we were 40 minutes into an order that was supposed to take 10 minutes. What a cluster.... the place was less than busy, we order simple appetizers, and the restaurant COULD NOT GET THE ORDER DONE IN 45 minutes. We left with a refund, 45 minutes after we placed the order. There are some really lazy people in the place if they can't get one order done in 45 minutes. Will never be back.

Yelp
First time at this sweet and friendly Thai place and returned a week later. Ample parking Clean Quality of food is delicious and fresh. Price is reasonable and so are the portions. Ordered the choo Cher fish which was moist and tender, the sauce was sublime. Other dish was eggplant with vegetables and the sauce was delish. Salmon massaman curry which is a specialty dish was disappointing. Why? The salmon was over cooked so it was hard and rubbery and it tasted freeze dried. Also, the sauce which was flavorful was as watered down. Also, had the tiger steak which was ok. The fried rice with shrimp was delicious. I would focus on the regular Thai dishes and be weary of the speciality dishes. I guess depends on the cook, thou a good restaurant is consistent. Service is friendly and i would return.

Yelp
The hubby and I ordered Basil Thai for dinner and were pleasantly surprised by how satisfying it was. First of all, our pick up order was ready in 15 minutes, packaged nicely and piping hot. Second, the flavors were really good and those spring rolls stayed nice and crisp. The pad Thai was superb. The chicken was tender, the flavors worked well and it wasn't too spicy. My curry was very well seasoned, had a nice kick at a level 5 and I slurped it all up. My only criticism is that the tofu, potatoes and carrots were huge and could've been cut down by half the size. I know they do this do the vegetables don't turn to mush when cooking, but it made a mess when trying to cut. This place is close to our new place and we'll definitely be grabbing food yo hi again.

Yelp
I love the food here so much only been here twice but totally loved it. Especially the service my server was Tuft he really took care of us good. He was very caring and thoughtful. Definitely would recommend this place!
google avatar

Maria G.

Yelp
Service was pretty fast and the staff was attentive. They offered us spicy condiments to add to our food. We ordered the spicy curry rice and pad see ew - no complaints! Would eat here again and would recommend to anyone who wants to try Thai food
google avatar

Michael D.

Yelp
Food was ok. Ordered the Panang curry duck lunch special. Portion was small, curry not even enough to be soaked up by rice. Soup appetizer had good broth, but veggies did not taste fresh. Good service, but I won't be back.

Yelp
Another fantastic Thai spot! I try to get similar things at every place we try and this did not disappoint. The Tom kha was phenomenal and I will definitely be back for more of that. The pad see ew with fish was the best ever. So flavorful and delicious. The pad Thai was good, about the same as any other place, but don't miss the Tom kha or pad see ew. Staff was friendly and the place is spacious, not busy.

MissQueen B.

Yelp
This place is okay for a quick bite and for the price, but there are definitely better Thai spots. Their Pad Thai noodles and flavor were delicious as well as the Pad See Ew, but the shrimp was tough and difficult to get through. The sampler was decent but again, the shrimp was tough and the wontons need more cream cheese. The service was mediocre; probably because the girls working were talking quite loudly about personal things, and they were not attentive. The establishment is outdated and it's very cluttered. They have dirty rags and cleaning supplies sitting out amongst dishes stacked on the counter in the dining room. Most likely will not go back.

Yelp
Delicious authentic Thai curry! Service and ambience is great. Definitely recommended! It's been a long time since I've had a great Curry!

Ron M.

Yelp
Amazing, the best we've found Highly recommend this place. Nobody does egg rolls like them

Yelp
This a good Thai food to go they have great staff good service food isn't great but it's good I personally like there papaya salad and in a spicy level 3 they make it very good here

Yelp
Tried this spot tonight but unfortunately it was a dud for us. The staff was very friendly but the kitchen was overwhelmed by a large table it seemed so the food came out very slowly. The main issue and the reason for the low rating is that all 3 takeout dishes that we ordered were all subpar in some way. The beef was over cooked in our pad see ew, basil chicken had no seasoning whatsoever, and the spring rolls had an unusual flavor. Hopefully this was just an off night.
google avatar

Quita M.

Yelp
Overpriced and for no good reason. I ordered drunken noodles and I wasn't allowed to have it with fish. It was cold when I picked it up. That's my fault, I was in the parking lot on a phone call for a while. But I they did not care that it was definitely cold for that price 22$ it would have been nice if they had the presence of mind.

Yelp
I had food from here delivered. Preparing food and delivery time was supposed to be approximately 35 minutes. It took over an hour. I ordered: 1. Red Curry w/shrimp 2. Sweet and sour W/pork and chicken. 3. Beef salad 4. Tom Kha soup w/shrimp. After delivery fees, taxes, tip, etc. I paid approximately $84 This was a big disappointment. My 2 main entrees were suppose to come with steamed rice per the menu. and they gave us 2 containers of Rice noodles. I paid extra to have 2 meats (chicken and pork) and they only gave us chicken. And the sweet and sour sauce was incredibly runny. Almost like a soup. And the soup had 4 pieces of shrimp. I can't believe how much this order was messed up. Someone was not paying attention to the order.

Suzan G.

Yelp
I have never had Thai eggplant chicken as delicious as Basil Thai Bistro. It's seriously phenomenal - the veggies and sauce are flavored to perfection. This dish has been my obsession lately so I've literally been ordering takeout twice a week bc I keep craving it. A must try! If you are in the area, the place is great to sit inside too - super cute and they are so friendly!

Yelp
This place deserves 5 stars. Great tasting food. Reasonable prices. Amazing Tom yum soup. Love it

Yelp
Needed lunch for work so this place was close by. Across the street from wendys and navajo live. Also ordered a thai iced green tea and it was really good like the host said. I drank that b4 work and no picture. My lunch was delicious. Each came with two different sauces, the peanut sauce was my fav for both tho.
google avatar

Natasha B.

Yelp
Ordered in for take out. Delicious food. I felt the wait was a bit long. The green curry was very good, as well as the pad Thai. Crab Rangoon could have been more filled with the filling but was still good. The tiger cry was ok- a little over cooked. I wish I could give this place 3.5- I would def eat here again but would avoid crab Rangoon and the tiger cry
google avatar

Josh G.

Yelp
Panang curry and pad Thai were exceptionally delicious. Enough said. The front house worker was attentive and gave some good energy.. Although I was full after eating both those dishes.. I really wanted to try their sweet mango sticky rice. It was so creamy and delicious. The texture of the sticky rice was perfect. Warm and sticky, and held its shape nice. Above all, the best dessert compliment... it was not too sweet either. Just perfect. Highly recommend. Excited to come back here to try the other foods!!
google avatar

Michelle F.

Yelp
Went here on a whim. And must say, as a first timer it was a great experience. Our server was super helpful and friendly. The wait wasn't long. There's plenty of parking. I ordered their spicy noodles and they were delicious! They even give those that checkin on Yelp Thai tee, coffee or soda. I highly recommend and I will definitely go back
google avatar

Diane S.

Yelp
My sisters and I took our mother here for her birthday as she was craving for some Thai food and we were highly disappointed. By no means were the food bad, it's actually quite flavorful and tasty, but was it authentic Thai food? No. It should be called a hint of Thai. We ordered quite a lot of dishes, turns out they were not family style and were actually pretty pricey even for individual portions (which were really small too). The food was all on the sweeter side as well and not spicy. This definitely catered more to the demographic of the area (white). We should have known something was off when our waitress did not ask for a spice level lol. On top of that, service was very slow. The food came out in gaps of 5 mins one after the other. Overall, food is tasty but not authentic Thai food we're looking for and so the experience was very underwhelming.

Betty H.

Yelp
Excellent Thai dishes from Drunken spicy noodles and egg rolls to fried rice. The servers were efficient and helpful.

T'ana P.

Yelp
When it comes to Thai food in San Diego, I don't go anywhere else but here!! Consistent & authentic, ALWAYS sooo yummy! My fav dishes are the Pad Thai, the Pad Woon Sen & the Red Curry with a side of peanut sauce! I also love that they have Thai Iced Green Tea & Thai Coffee! The service is very fast, but when they are busy they are sooo busy so please be mindful of that.

Patrice B.

Yelp
Amazing flavor...food is delicious and never disappoints! Highly recommended to satisfy your Thai food cravings!

Keshia L.

Yelp
Basil Thai is a nice tucked in family owned and small restaurant vibes, with ALL the yummyness. Their lunch special is probably one of the cheapest out there (esp nowadays), but the quality doesn't taste cheap at all. Highly recommend
google avatar

Ally R.

Yelp
Love the seafood salad! I appreciate how accommodating they are about my food intolerance.
google avatar

Paige N.

Yelp
I've had the pad se ew and the green curry here many times and both are excellent! I love Thai food and this place definitely knows how to do it right! Friendly service as well.
google avatar

Heathe F.

Yelp
Good food, fast service, and knowledgeable of gluten free dietary restrictions. Hoping to make this my go-to neighborhood Thai spot.
google avatar

Susan C.

Yelp
My girlfriend eats here all the time and it's her favorite Thai restaurant. She had never had Pad Thai and loved it. Ordered mixed vegetables with mock duck and she had a curry dish. Service was very slow due to all the to go orders. There were only 3 tables filled with diners. We basically served our selves for water and drinks while we waited for our food to arrive.

Alyssa B.

Yelp
Bomb bomb bomb is all I can say. Everything is amazing, the people are nice. And I'm picky with my Thai food. It's very authentic tasting. Love it.
google avatar

Nancy S.

Yelp
Tonight's entree was the hot basil with tofu, spicy # 5. Excellent with brown rice. My spouse had the spicy noodles with tofu, his favorite. Another excellent meal! Had garlic pepper with tofu and brown rice tonight. My spouse had pad Thai with tofu. We always have crispy tofu appetizer. Another delicious meal! I've ordered takeout several times since the Covid-19 shutdown. Everything was excellent! Food was ready in time, hot, and delicious.
google avatar

J S.

Yelp
This is my new favorite Thai spot. The servings are generous and quality is amazing. I most defiantly will be bring my family back.
google avatar

Advisor E.

Yelp
Loved the order last week, spicy noodles, pineapple rice and the sampler platter... From placing the order through pickup it was flawless and then the great food...bonus!
google avatar

Lena P.

Yelp
I ordered the spicy noodles with chicken and panang curry with beef. The noodles were fine but I was disappointed with the taste and quantity of panang curry. The container was only filled half way and there were only a few pieces of beef. It was riddled with bell pepper and onion.

Amber K.

Yelp
Worst red curry I've ever had, almost inedible. Watery, greasy, and flavorless. Beef was super low quality and chewy. I get curry once a week it's my fav but I will never order from here again. :(

Monica C.

Yelp
Spicy noodle (drunken). Level 4-SO SO YUMMY!! This was my first time trying this spot. Close to work. This was some of then best Thai I have tasted. It was fresh, not oily, veggies were great, and flavor was spot on!!

Liza M.

Yelp
Just ordered thai rice and everything about my order is all wrong including special instructions.. ...sooo pissed
google avatar

Sherry T.

Yelp
Well the food was good, but lacked chicken. Ordered through postmates and by the time I got the food it was $68.00 Oh no, pretty skimpy on the red chicken curry. Will not be going back to buy food from here.

Amira A.

Yelp
This restaurant has no customer service whatsoever, in addition to getting my food order wrong. They mixed up my order and when I called to complain they blamed it on the driver. However, asking for beef instead of chucked isn't the driver's fault. The restaurant refused to send me a refund and hang up on me. The food has no taste and I would not recommend eating there.
google avatar

Nette B.

Yelp
Been here a handful of times and I'm glad the Yelp gods has lead me here. The service is good but I should give props to the best Pad Thai I have ever eaten. I've been to a lot of Thai restaurants in San Diego and every restaurant (to me) has a specialty that stands out. In this case it's the Pad Thai. Food: Tofu Pad Thai Panang Curry with Chicken Sticky Rice I always order the same dishes because it's just so good. Nice little restaurant with 3 booths and a handful of tables. Servers are very attentive but I really like the guy during the day. (Asian guy who seems very nice) Definitely a restaurant to try. There's a YELP deal but it's the same as their lunch special.
