A chic inviting Thai Bar Restaurant with great beverages, stellar food, and even greater service on Folsom Street in SoMa, San Francisco.
We strolled in for dinner after a full afternoon and it was just starting to pick up more. The have tons of seating including at their modern trendy bar area. I didn't even notice the cozy table for two up at the front tucked away like a private nook which we got offered right away... And of course took it!
A welcomed romantic dinner with my guy? Don't mind if I do. I almost thought he planned this because it was such a moment and he had been a few times before.
The live plants, awesome music, warm decor and aromas are unforgettable. Ordering the fried brussel sprouts to start to start from the LITTLE SOMETHING (aka appetizers) menu was bliss... prepared in lemon zest, huge portion. The fried tofu, crispy vegetable rolls, fresh roll and many vegetarian vegan friendly items here as well as the entire menu.
I would double back for here to try many things, but the Red curry of tofu & vegetables would be first as the first time was the charm. Pumpkin, basil, eggplant, snap peas, corn and tamarind sauce with a side of ride made for an impressive entree located under RICE PLATES as well as CURRIES.
Basil has dishes FROM THE WOK, FROM THE FIRE, SOUP & SALAD, FRIED RICE + NOODLE, NOODLE SOUP, SIDES & SWEETS (like the Sweet mango + coconut sticky rice) and so many signature cocktails, impressive red as well as white wine, beers, soft drinks and sakes.
Pretty much the definition of a hidden gem and possibly my favorite spot I tried while visiting San Fran.
"Hot Food + Strong Drinks" doing it all since 1995, nearly 30 year spreading the love of eats, sips and smiles on your face and your belly.
Street and Bike parking is available, as are reservations, delivery and/or takeout.
