"Local Basqueland beer is one of Spain’s most awarded craft beers, and the brewery was started by two Americans who missed drinking great IPAs. In 2020, Izakaia opened as a beer-forward snack bar with the same raison d’etre—all while creating a spot with good energy, killer ramen, and beer to match. The bar is open every day until after midnight, with a rotating selection of their latest beers, a menu of Japanese fusion dishes, and even natural wines. This is ramen you should never pass on, and the spicy, meaty soup pairs surprisingly well with their cult classic Santa Clara lager." - Marti Buckley

Was staying in the old town but as a craft beer fan I recognized this brewery name from a beer fest years ago and decided to make walk over. The place itself has a perfect craft brewery vibe. Small and cozy, beer list on a homemade chalk boards and of course a great staff to help navigate ur visit. We stopped by shortly after open and the bartender was able to recommend a few different options including a beer that wasn’t on the list yet along with a bao bun that wasn’t listed either. Both were amazing.

Food and the place are great, but our meal was spoiled from paying 40 euros for a terrible bottle of wine that clearly had imperfections. All 4 of us decided the wine was undrinkable and poured it out, the staff however told us that's how the wine was supposed to taste despite the fact it had clearly gone off.

This whole street was recommended for food by the bike rental guy on the other side of town (Basque Epic)… stumbled on this restaurant as back home in the UK we love a hazy IPA or DIPA. They had a hazy on board, great friendly service from the American lady and three little Bao as a snack before we continued our journey! Sadly riding or we’d have had more… intrigued to try the Ramen so may visit again before the end of my trip! Really enjoyed!!!!

Very chill craft brewery with cool friendly staff in the middle of touristville. Great place to grab a cold one and take a load off. Servers know their beer and fun to chat with

They don't open on time, they're very casual and fun, until they just make up a price. We were charged 50 euros for a less than 10 euro bottle of sparkling wine, It felt very dishonest and ruined our whole experience.

Very interesting Japanese restaurant with a twist, good craft beers and organic wine selection. The ramen, wonton and dandan noodles were excellent. Edamame is also a must order, perfect appetizer with a drink. Overall slightly pricey, but worth a visit!

Stepping into Basqueland was like being transported back to Austin. The industrial-modern decor, eclectic music akin to what you’d hear at The Mohawk, and a striking tiger mural set the right vibrant brewpub tone. I asked for a beer flight to sample their offering and it came as five full beers. Lesson learned. The thoughtful bartender took the time to carefully note each beer's name on a tablet that look like a charcuterie board, big enough for normal-sized glasses. My top pick has to be the Pot of Gold. It's not as piney as most hazy IPAs, making it delightfully easy to drink and gentle on the stomach - think Electric Jellyfish. Of course they serve Ramen and Tacos. I didn't taste them, but they looked tempting. Plus, the kitchen seems to be open all the time, a rarity in San Sebastian. If you're yearning for a break from the traditional taverna beer scene, try Basqueland and bring a friend.

One of the best places I've ever been. The beers are terrific and the food is too. Order a tempura gambas taco, you won't regret. I've rarely tasted something this good!!
