Bassett catered our wedding and they were incredible! We worked with Frank and he truly made sure everything was taken care of. The food was amazing and all our guests came up to us telling us so! We highly recommend them for your next event!

I order a lot from here, never have problems with my orders except today, I guess the person doing take out orders was having a bad day or didn’t care what was given. I ordered Mac & cheese and received a smaller container usually get the larger container, it’s like they do and give what they want thinking the customer wouldn’t realize the difference. Will I keep ordering, of course, the food is great, workers just need to pay attention when making orders and give the correct size of item. Now I have to make a special trip to Bassett’s to get the correct size.

From the very beginning working with Frank/ Bassett, I knew they were the perfect choice for our wedding on 5/24/25. The portions were incredible and the food was amazing. No one will go hungry I promise! If you are questioning, just go to a tasting and you will be fully on board. The bacon wrapped scallops and beef crostini's were some on my personal favorites. Very kind business, even checked up on us after the wedding. They brought their own bartenders and exceeded expectations. It is obvious they have been doing this for a long time, and know exactly what they are doing. I cant thank Bassett enough for being the best/easiest vendor to work with. 11/10

I had a great experience with Bassett Caterers for my birthday/graduation brunch party in July of last year. As someone who likes to do my research, I first visited the establishment to speak to someone in person and of course taste the food. The manager and other staff were very pleasant. They took me to the seating area in the back to discuss my selections. The owner even gave me a meal on the house so that I could taste what they had to offer! I ended up going with the classic hot breakfast buffet package for 125 guests and let me just say there was SO MUCH FOOD! I was busy taking pictures and interacting with others so I didn't get to taste it all, but I received good feedback from guests about the presentation, taste, and overall value. There was so much food left over that most guests left with take-home containers. Needless to say, I would definitely use this catering service again!

They catered my Sons fourth. They were accommodating and understanding with the rules of The venue of the party. I ordered only a week in adv and they still delivered . def appreciate and will be using them again

Really well rounded place... Prices are pretty fair... Parking usually isnt much of a prob.... Gotta love the hot food especially! And yes the portions are good to, for all u gluttons.

Bassett catered our wedding at Hamilton's Loft at the end of April 2025 and we cannot say enough incredible things about Frank and his team! Most importantly, the food was phenomenal - particularly the beef short rib, miso salmon, and pasta. But there was also so much food! The cocktail hour included 5 passed dishes as well as a table of vegetables/mats/cheeses and the dinner included 4 full courses (salad, pasta, entree, array of desserts). Frank was so easy to work with, incredibly accommodating/flexible, and very affordable compared to many other caterers. Its been a few weeks and all of our friends/family are still talking about the food. We feel so lucky to have found Bassett and would choose them time and time again.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. Which for me personally sucks. I use to go to this place throughout my childhood it was actually a privilege to go here. Now? Horrible. Today I went in and ordered the simplest sandwich. Jam & Swiss on SEEDED Italian bread, balsamic glaze, mayo. I got regular bread, which did not taste fresh, balsamic oil, ham and Swiss. The sandwich was so disgusting that I took one bite and threw it out! If this was the first time this happened, I would just move along. But considering I spent $70 there today I should at bare minimum get what I'm paying for. Sad that the owners truly don't seem to care. Save your time and money and go to Jimmy's in sheepshead bay road.

I love Bassett. You're talking about family tradition style love. Love like talking to people about Bassett by name when you're in another country. The management is great. The food is an incredible value. I still dream about their chicken parm and their meatloaf. Go.

I highly recommend hiring Bassett for any catering needs! Frank and his team catered our wedding and it was amazing. They are organized and really know their stuff. Frank is very easy to work with. Portions are very generous, at both the tasting and the wedding. We got tons of compliments from guests about how great the food was!

Our catering place, food is great for all occasions and they have great service. Good packages are perfect for parties and gatherings. Pricing is very reasonable.

A few suggestions when serving customers... When preparing a sandwich please do not place bread on the stainless steel counter nor have your arm touch the bread in the process. And please please do not talk over the food. This is why a customer would change their mind about making a purchase.Thank you!

we ordered Bassetts deluxe Easter menu, everything was great, lamb chops perfect brisket perfect, every item we received was very good, and good sized portions. We have already ordered from Bassett for a party of 50 for our Mom at the end of April. looking forward to it. no need to call anyone. else

Can't tell you how many holidays, birthdays, communions, baptisms, etc. we've catered from Bassett. Everything is always terrific, fresh and tasty. We stop in just about weekly for some takeout or even eating in their newly renovated dining area. The owners are friendly and supportive, and the staff is always cheerful and friendly. We traveling from the city, even though we've left the neighborhood.

The food is always fresh Frank uses only top quality ingredients in all his dishes the service is also great, and the portions are all spilling over the containers you get your money's worth in Basset Caterers I eat there often and I am made to feel welcome each time

So we were in Brooklyn for new-years eve with the family and we decided to cater Italian. We had the most amazing food. We had a tray of eggplant parm and that was delicious the sausage and peppers were also a favorite. Yummy meatballs and potatoes croquet. The lemon chicken over the bed of rice was delicious. They provide trays,utensils, bread , napkins, and even a table cloth this was a great way to ring in the new year with delicious food. The entire staff was great and working hard to process all the orders they had in a timely fashion. My family in Brooklyn will continue to use them .

100% recommended for catering your wedding or any other special day!! We hired Bassett for food/dessert at our Housing Works bookstore wedding. We had a tasting with Frank and James in Coney island store, and we absolutely fell in love with not only flavors of food but also their warm-heartedness. Their steak was the best we have ever tasted among 5+ wedding caterers, and they even packed hors d'oeuvres for us to have at home. We really felt like visiting family members from our first encounters. On our wedding day, we and all of our guests were extremely pleased with food and services, including excellent cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres (including crab cakes and scallop wrapped with bacon), pasta (ravioli), and entrees (steak, shrimp, and salmon). Frank even made a new tiger shrimp dish per our request that some guests wanted to have that. What really surprised us on the wedding day is they provided desserts that we did not purchase at additional fees, as we were working at tight budgets. We wanted to have macaroons, french pastries, and chocolate truffles but decided to go without them given additional costs. Bassett surprisingly offered amazing dessert table (see below picture for a subset) without additional charges. Looking at how fast all these desserts went can tell how tasty they are. Guests commented red velvet cakes by Bassett were more delicious than our wedding cake we ordered separately. Service was also phenomenal. We were glad to choose Bassett for wedding catering, even though they were not one of the preferred vendor at the venue. They are super professional and know a way around the kitchen and different layout of the reception venue. We highly recommend for catering food for any special occasion you have!

Racking my brain trying to come up with new meals to eat, I remembered Bassett Caterers and called them to see what the options are in terms of deliveries, hours, etc. The gentleman that answered the phone, could not have been any nicer and oh so very patient. 5 stars for customer service and another 5 for the food. They are currently working out of 3000 Emmons Avenue location while their 1404 Avenue X location is under renovation. While at this temporary location, their closing hours are a bit early, like around 2:00 or 3:00, so call in the morning for delivery. Prices are super reasonable and portions are really generous. We ordered Chicken francese, pasta with broccoli and garlic and oil, Caesar salad and cheese ravioli. Everything was fresh, perfectly seasoned and wonderfully flavorful. I enjoyed every bite, especially the pasta with broccoli! Sometimes you just want high quality comfort food and Bassets exceeded our expectations. I'm kicking myself for not ordering from them sooner, but better late than never, right? Attached are the photos of our wonderful feast, and plenty of leftovers too!

I have only high praise for these caterers. I have used them more than once and have never been disappointed The food is delicious and never dry. I ordered the Thanksgiving package last year and the turkey, stuffing and sides were all cooked perfectly the turkey was tender and moist Last week I ordered BBQ ribs, sausage and peppers and pasta dishes-- all were a hit especially the ribs which were very meaty I have even been to events of 100 and more people which Bassett catered and the food was outstanding A word of advice, when ordering keep in mind that they provide you with large portions we had enough food to last several more dinners Even after reheating the leftovers the food was still great

All I have to say is this is way better than Boston market, everything is seasoned to perfection! Also owner Frank gave nothing but good vibes! This will from now on be my go to spot for anything

If you're looking for a great caterer who knows what they're doing, supplies everything needed, and knows how to set up and make it look great...use this place! With a party for 70, not one complaint. Actually, guests were raving that some of the food was the best they ever had. I would use them again in a second, and a separate thank you to our servers of the day, David and Ivan...you guys were so good natured, as well as very professional and efficient. Thanks to all at Bassett, you really helped in making my party such a success!

Eat in or take out the variety of their hot food menu is terrific, my favorites are the barbecued ribs,mac & cheese; also the ready fresh salads are delicious. Not forgetting those delicious desserts tiramisu, cheesecake, variety of Italian cookies

My family and I have been going to and have used Bassett for 7 years. We have used them for both my daughters baptism and 1st birthday and had no doubt but them to use them again this year for her communion! The new room that they have built was perfect for the occasion! The food was amazing as usual and the staff could not be more accommodating! They went above and beyond! I highly recommend this place not only for food but for future parties/dinners!!!

Hire Frank and the crew at Bassett Caterers for your wedding today! Bassett does things old school, and it was SO refreshing to be met with real customer service. From day 1, Frank was so friendly and offered utmost flexibility in every aspect. We booked Bassett and then 6+ months later when we called to talk through details, Frank was able to repeat back to me all the specifics we had mentioned on our first call! Bassett offered so much variety for our buffet, and Frank kindly added extra flare to side dishes, making it so much more than we imagined. He and his crew were efficient and set up our tables exactly as we requested, and kept snacks in the bridal suite all night. They even put together an ice cream sundae bar for us! The presentation is no frills but still elegant, just like we hoped. Everything was reasonably priced and everyone had plenty to eat, and all Frank's suggestions were worth it. They are real pros!

Went for sandwiches and they were amazing. We got a ham sandwich and meatball sandwich. Bread is fantastic ! Ham piled high and meatballs delicious!

Outrageously delicious. We just catered from these guys for a baby shower and I can not express my gratitude for the promptness, the attention to detail and the quality of food we received. They were on time, provided us with EVERYTHING, to the salt and pepper packets, and the food tasted out of this world. This is a gem, no wonder they are in business for all of these years. Very happy that Bassett's has reopened and expanded. Have to hand it to Frank and Family for getting through Sandy, the fire and the Pandemic over these past few years in providing quality food and caetering services here in Brooklyn. Very happy that the Baron DeKalb KofC Council in Sheepshead Bay helped out during the down times. Just had their Easter Dinner package and it was the best yet! Thanks to all involved in Bassett's for all they do to keep the business going.

I highly recommend. The prices are reasonable, the staff was courteous, responsive and very helpful. The menu offered a wide selection. Our event was catered on a boat and we had plenty of food, which by the way, was delicious. We received many compliments from our guests on the food. We were very happy with Bassett. It was a pleasure doing business with them.

Bassett's catered my daughter's wedding on March 11, 2022. It was a cocktail style wedding with different food stations (pasta station, meat station, etc). The food was more than just delicious. It was perfection. Everyone raved about the food and the service. The servers were incredibly friendly, professional, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make sure every guest had what they wanted and needed. From the very first communication with Frank in planning the menu to the end of the evening of the wedding, Bassett's helped make my daughter's wedding simply perfect. I can't recommend them enough. Go ahead, place your order, book their service. You will not regret it.

Amazing Italian-American food made fresh daily! The great part about this place is that their definitely known for their food catering services, but you can also visit the location and create a platter to eat right away. They have a huge selection of hot food to choose from l including chicken marsala and francese, meatloaf, lasagna, chicken meatballs, mac & cheese, steamed veggies etc... I believe it changes each day. For a platter, it's normally 1 entree and 2 sides which comes with a side of Italian bread for $8.50! It's a great deal considering my girlfriend and I can share a platter. They also have a huge selection of pre-packed sides! There's honestly too many to name! Employees have always been very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be choosing this place if I ever needed catering service. Food is bangin'!

Love this place! My family has used this place to cater our parties, and I've come in several times just to pick up a quick meal. They never disappoint. You really get a bang for your buck here - my boyfriend and I shared an $8.50 entree and a $1 potato salad and that was filling enough for the both of us. Of course some dishes are better than others (in my opinion at least), but I do recommend the chicken francaise or marsala. Aside from the hot food, they also have pre-packaged meals, sides and desserts to go!

Had the Roast Beef party platter, chicken fingers and french fries. Everything was delicious! Beef was tender and flavorful and came with gravy, mixed veggies and amazing roasted potatoes. Delivered on time. Everything was perfect!

We're so thrilled with the job Bassett did catering cocktail bites for our wedding in Manhattan. A friend who works at a very high end restaurant told us that their restaurant used Bassett to cater their party, so we blindly hired them. Frank was so helpful in making our menu and the waiters Remy and Arthur (?) were very professional and managed to deal with a difficult parking situation. I didn't expect the food to be so good THANK YOU!!

Giving this place 4 stars Bc ya know, nothing is ever perfect ;) Ordered food for thanksgiving for 7 people and it was awesome; the price, the food, the service, etc. We had tons of food options and left overs for days. We will definitely be ordering again for Christmas. Highly recommended!

I'm a big fan of Bassett's! Catering, takeout, and the hot food line are all absolute superstars. The catering order was accurate, easy to order, and not too expensive, but I'm a bigger fan of their every-day offerings. Recommended favorites are the hot bar's chicken parm, with mac and cheese as a side (I swear, their cheese sauce is like yellow crack!), and their to-go vodka sauce. Another superstar is their chocolate fudge cake. Mmmmm.

If you need food for an event -- from a small backyard BBQ, to a 135 person wedding, Bassett is there for you from start to finish. Don't be put off by their corner deli exterior: Bassett is beyond professional and what's more, they truly care about providing their customers with fantastic food. I had read about this company when looking for a wedding venue in NYC that would accommodate a large amount of people, but not break the bank. Bassett is wonderful because you can negotiate your meal options; they really have a price and package for everyone, from buffet style, to a four-course seated dinner. Their options might not seem "fancy" but when was the last time you had a "fancy" wedding meal that actually tasted good? Stick with what your guests know and like and they'll walk away feeling happy :) The tasting alone was beyond generous and informative. We were expecting a few bites of food and a sell-up discussion. Frank made full plates of food, both generously presenting appetizers and entrees for us to try. Frank is a great, normal guy who loves his business and wants to make you happy. No request is too small, and the best part is his honesty and transparency. They make all of their food in-house and it's so fresh and good, you won't be disappointed. Even the pigs in a blanket are homemade! These guys are with you every step of the way. Most of their packages include linens, china, silverware and glassware. They do not include alcohol but you can drop it off at their site and they will bring it on the day of your event. They truly save you time, money, and stress. We knew we'd get incredible service, but Bassett surprised us even still: We had specially requested a mashed potato bar and a hot chocolate bar. These were a few dollars per person more but made all the difference. Everything was beautifully displayed and blew us away. You get professional, special service for a price that makes you do a double-take. We plan on using them for other events in the future. Got a chicken cutlet in a hero today with lettuce, roasted peppers, onions, bacon and mustard. Huge monster hero. Tastes great, big size, great price what else can you ask for. Been coming here for 9 years for lunch, Bassett is always reliable good home style catering almost like coming home to eat for lunch.

This is the place to go to for Thanksgiving. If you're tired of cooking a large Thanksgiving dinner, Bassetts Catering is the place to go. The food is always fresh. They never disappointed me. The turkey was carved cut and displayed like something you would see on a TV cooking channel. The side dishes are always on point. The prosciutto balls were a favorite. It made my Home the place to be on Thanksgiving. P.S. You guys brought my Thanksgiving dinner to another level. Thank You very much, Albert Aguayo

I cannot thank Frank and the entire Bassett team enough for hitting it out of the park for our wedding day. We held our wedding reception for 135 people at The Dumbo Loft last Saturday night and Bassett executed cocktail hour to dinner service to dessert flawlessly. From the moment we first met with Russell and then Frank, they treated us like family and were so honest with us throughout the process. When they tell you there's going to be so much food, they mean it. When they tell you they've got everything under control (bar service, linens, tables, delivery, set up, clean-up, etc. etc. etc.), they mean it. I wholeheartedly recommend Bassett Caterers for any special event and if we could get married all over again, they would be the very first vendor we'd call. Like what so many of our guests told us, "This is so much better than regular wedding food!"

Please bring back delivery!!! I small business owner in a Jewish area!!! That means there isn't any good food around and I can't leave my shop cause I'm the only one.

The best hot pastrami sandwich I've had in a long time. Also a pretty awesome + large grilled chicken Ceaser Salad It comes with garlic croutons and its huge so def. worth the $.

This place is highly addicting. This place offers a wide variety of food that will enlighten your taste buds no matter how many times you visit. Since it's just around my block I occasionally visit whenever I don't have time to cook or on the go. Not only is it popular in my personal taste but to many also. Many of the events I go to hire this place to be their caterers. For the price I would say its fair because of their wonderful sized portion

Won a 3ft party hero package at a work event. Ordered the hero, chose 4 side salads to go with it, easy. Nothing but ease and pleasure when picking it up. It was ready, receipt ready, all I had to do was give in the gift certificate. One man (possibly owner/manager) carried everything out for my father and I, without us even having to ask. Such a pleasant experience. In addition to that, the hero and sides were amazing! We got the breaded eggplant hero, but all options looked great. Also, they give everything you need. Plates, forks, knives, napkins, serving spoons (again without us needing to request any of it). Before this, I came in here and I here since it's close to work. Their prepared food, hot food, and salad bar are all great too. Highly recommend.

One of my favorite places in Brooklyn! Their chicken is really good! I order it every week it is just amazing! Their bread is also very good! I am always wanting it! I definitely recommend going to Bassett Caterers!

We'd used to order from these guys for EVERYTHING when I worked at my Church rectory. Their sandwiches are outta this world and leftovers are rarely ever to be found. Completely professional service staff that provides soda, cups, napkins, utensils and pretty much almost all the trimmings for your catered party. Highlyyyy recommended! They have yet to disappoint.

Daily specials, plates with two sides, huge overstuffed sandwiches, pizza, salads, take out and delivery, and to top it all off: catering!!! Bassett is a family run restaurant that serves generous portions, has a friendly staff, and a clean restaurant.

This place never ceases to amaze me. Their location is now temporarily changed to Emmons Ave and I was so excited that they are still up and running while they build back their original location. I ordered grilled chicken with broccoli rabe heroes and grilled vegetable heroes yesterday which came with a choice of 4 salads. I ordered a garden salad, pasta salad, tomato salad and cucumber salad. Everything was amazing!!!! My guests kept on complimenting the food which is always a great feeling. The heroes are the best I have ever tasted. (I never like regular grilled chicken heroes that parties have) but these heroes are one of a kind. I can't wait for them to reopen! Also, please bring back the delicious pizza! Can't wait to order my pizza from here if they do!

Primo sandwich, need I say more!!! Plus the macaroni salad and potato salad are absolutely delicious. The hot meals are delicious and great value. Catered a few events with them and the food was always devoured. Highly recommend!!

Isn't food the most important thing in a wedding ? Forget everyone else and hire Bassett Caterers, the best caterer in Brooklyn ! One of our best choice when planning our destination wedding in Brooklyn last May. We are not foodies but we love tasty and international food so we were looking for a caterer capable of setting up a buffet with a mix of flavors, with a budget constraint. We were so happy to have found Bassett Caterers who managed to make our wedding food unforgettable : Our guests are still talking about it as they never ate that much at a wedding !!! They raved about the Mexican station and the guacamole, the mini beef burger during cocktail hour, the Sushi boat and the desert gallery ! In the package, food catering comes along with soft drinks, china, linens, wait staff. Frank was super nice and easy to work with, it was great working with a local vendor who wants his customers to be happy ! MERCI BEAUCOUP Frank & the Bassett team !!

We ordered from Bassetts for Thanksgiving and everything we delicious. The Turkey, the stuffing, the baked ziti and eggplant park were all perfect. We had leftovers for days. Thank you for a memorable Thanksgiving feast.
