Bat Bar

We went in because they had a guy playing old school Texas country which doesn't happen very often on sixth street. In Austin. The self appointed music Capitol of Texas. Think about that for a minute. Unearned titles and blatant contradictions aside, I dug the place. All dark wood, clean place and a good selection of drinks. Why don't they serve Seagram VO whiskey in this town. Anyway, cool place to day drink!

Bat bar has awesome DJ lighting along with a friendly staff and great mox of music. Always a staple on sixth street.

The music is awesome! They play house music which is the kind of music I like. The drinks are pricey though, if they could improve it would be to lower the drink prices. Also, the bathrooms are really disgusting, they need to maintain and clean them. Other than that, it was a good time.

I've been to the Bat Bar at least 8 times .. The staff has always been very helpful and friendly with me.. I was taken good care of at the Bat Bar.. I go and watch a ATX Blue's Band they play there every Tuesday, and Wednesday night. .. I've always had a great time.. The Bat Bar has an area for dancing, the House Lighting and Sound are Good.. The Bat Bar is a nice place to stop at have a drink, and relax. You can stay for a half hour or spend the whole evening there... I would recommend The Bat Bar...

Went to Bat Bar for my second time, lured in by the wonderful Austin musician, Adam Rodgers. The first time I saw him perform here, the sound was terrible. The second time around, things were definitely better and we got to enjoy a wonderful show. The stage sits right up against the open wall to 6th St., and although the bar is a dark, you still get the open air feeling. The drinks were cheap, the servers were attentive and everyone was in the Halloween spirit.

I ordered 5 "bat shots" and the bartender didn't equally serve them. I had to tell him to add more to the last one because it was not even a shot. Not worth $25. Otherwise, the music is really good and good place to dance.

They had this terrific young jazz on March 11th, don't know they're name. Lots of space, high ceiling. I didn't order cocktails. If you pay with debit card, they'll automatically charge you the gratuity, even if it's just 2 beers.

An incredibly loud and dirty place. However, that might just be what you're looking for! Bat Bar has better music than the other ipod-spun bars, with a DJ who definitely knew what he was doing (even if the song selection was slightly off at times). A very rowdy crowd created a dance circle in which 1/10 people who went in actually knew how to dance.
