"At 3,600 square feet, Batanga boasts a brick patio that is quite possibly Downtown’s largest. Sip $5 sangria and dine on $2 tacos under the scenic clock and bell tower. Happy hour: Monday through Friday, 3:00 to 7:00. Specials: $6 flatbreads, $5 mojitos, sangrias, and wines, $2 tacos" - Baylea Jones

Overall experience is 3.5 on a Friday evening. The food was good:4. We enjoyed the fish tacos in the happy hours and the mushroom croquettes are very delicious. But the service was all over the place. Our waitress walked away as we were still ordering, we had to shout twice after her that we are not done yet. Then we get a dirty plate (I mean a big piece of food was stuck to the bottom), the guy took it and forgot to come back with a clean one. We would come back for the food, but not for the service for sure. Plus point for not using plastic straws!!

I visited Batanga and realized they changed for the better! With a renewed menu and great atmosphere.I had a great time. Went on Saturday and there was live music and I was glad I made my reservation ahead of time. They incorporated additional creative tapas and dishes to the main Paella staple. I had Ahi Tuna Nachos, that were so fresh and “The Pig” with a flavor combinations that I was so pleasantly surprised of coming back to this place. The drinks menu includes skinny options. I had the Paloma. 👏👏👏definitely looking forward to coming back —- We came back. Added pictures of the eats: half baked oysters, lobster bisque and Chocolate con Papa and note there is a happy hour so this time I did try the margaritas and they were sooo good!

If you ever in downtown and crave for good Latin tapas and wine, drop by Batanga. Wine is 50% off, albeit on a limited selection. We had the Malbec and it was good. All the small plates we ordered were excellent. Both the octopus and scallop would be perfect if the chef lower down a notch in the sweetness. The grilled quail was seasoned perfectly. Although it was busy on a sunday evening, our server Jesse was phenomenal, juggling his time to a big group on one side of the patio and us sitting on the other end. I think management needs a better food ordering system. We have different servers serving us numerous, yes numerous times, foods we did not order. Overall, great place for alfresco dining. If you enjoy live music with your dinning, come Thursday to sunday.

Friendly service. Some of the food was good and some needed more salt. Drinks 🍸 was good. The waiter was missing for about 15 minutes and had to get somebody to go find him. We were ready to leave. We had to go to a comedy show. I'll probably never go back.

It was our first time eating here and overall it was very good. Unfortunately they were out of a number of dishes that we wanted which was a bit disappointing. Our server was pleasant and attentive.

Great selection. Loved the mojitos and churro. We ordered 3 dishes off the happy hour menu and four from the regular and it was enough for 2 of us. Brian was our server and was excellent!

Batanga was the perfect location to host my sisters baby shower! Brian was quick to respond over email and did a great job of adjusting the menu to our needs, providing information about parking and logistics, and being flexible in adjustments on headcount. Brandon met us when we arrived at the restaurant to confirm our needs and scheduling, and kept tabs throughout the entire event to ensure that we had all the tables where we needed them, that mom-to-be had a great mocktail, that we were replenishing the mimosa+sangria bar with juices that people were actually drinking, and that we had each course of the meal coming out at the right time! While there are no private rooms, we felt that we had our own intimate space in the restaurant (indoors and in front on the right). It was a Saturday afternoon, so the restaurant was not too busy yet. We had our own servers for our section, who helped us to cut and place burlap table runners and also kept checking in on us to see if we needed help while we decorated. We were able to decorate our part of the restaurant with pictures, candles, a personalized backdrop for the wall, succulents, and floral arrangements. After the meal, the servers quickly cleared the tables and put out new forks for dessert. We were allowed to bring in outside cake and cupcakes as well as a fruit arrangement made by my co-host. The server in charge brought us a cake cutting set and helped us to cut and serve cake and fruit to our guests. We were also allowed to bring in an outside photographer, who utilized the party space and also the patio + outdoor umbrella display to capture wonderful portraits and candids. We loved all the food from the shower and would recommend any and all of it. My personal favorites were the mushroom croquettes, Migas and French toast! They hit the quantities right on the head because there was enough food for everyone and little to none leftover or gone to waste! Despite guaranteeing 50 guests including kids for the event, they were kind enough to exclude toddlers who we originally counted but who didn’t eat and only count the number of adults who actually showed up that day, saving us a significant amount of what would have been money down the drain. Overall, I was impressed with the level of professionalism and the responsive, proactive, and flexible service provided by management and staff during the planning process and throughout the event. I would highly recommend Batanga if you’re planning an event!

We did accidentally show up a bit close to closing but they were bet accommodating regardless of that! The food tastes amazing and the drinks are really really good and unique. The bartenders are also willing to try and put together a drink if you know what goes in it for a fair price. I look forward to visiting again for a longer dinner.
