Yelp
This is a must-do for tourists visiting Paris!
It contains all the things you could want out of a trip: great food, polite staff, and of course, amazing views as you travel Paris on a cruise filled with joy and entertainment.
I reserved a spot with my date, and it was lovely from start to finish. I got a tad nervous at first when we were seated beside another couple, with our proximity a little too close for my liking, but I forgave it as the trip began and I was quickly consumed by the pleasant ambiance of the cruise.
Before we ordered our food, a photographer greeted us and took our photos. The copies were given to us by the end of the dinner, and we didn't NEED to buy any, but that's where they get you!
After feasting on delicious food and drinks, you're so hyped up on excitement (and romance- in my case) that you think, "How could you NOT bring these pictures home?" So, be prepared to spend a little more money on some photographs, because they really do encapsulate the pure joy one could have when visiting this popular attraction. The photo quality is also incredible; it's honestly one of the best photos of myself that I've seen in my life!
Once our pictures were done being taken, that was when we gave the waiter our order. Make sure that you know what option you want for every course, because they will be requesting for each one to refrain from walking back and forth so often.
I couldn't get enough of their dishes. Every single one I tried was delectable. There was not one that fell short, but if I had to pick a stand out, I'd say the french duck foie gras really took me by surprise with how creamy and tantalizing it was for what appeared to just be a piece of bread and some cream. The thin-crusted snail tart was also yummy, and for that being my first taste of snail, it had me hooked fast!
While you're cruising, there is constant music playing that could be overbearing at times, but it didn't ruin the positive vibes I felt. There was a man serenading the guests with English songs too; sometimes I'd catch him singing directly to guests that were seated in the center. Guess that made up for them not being able to sit near the window.
My favorite part of the trip, aside from the food, was when we went by a replica of the Statue of Liberty and they played Frank Sinatra's, "New York, New York." It had me a little teary eyed, knowing all the effort I put into making this night happen finally followed through perfectly. I can be pretty emotional from small things, so I don't expect anyone else to be overcome by this, but it does go to show how Bateaux Parisians invested all their time in ensuring their guests had the most magical night in Paris.
I'm typically a solo traveller, but this is not a place to go by yourself. If you want to attend this cruise, I highly suggest bringing a loved one with you because it would prove to be a much more meaningful adventure.
I relive this trip over and over again, it's one of the biggest highlights of my year, and I hope with my experience you'll be motivated to one day see the beauty that I witnessed that night on Bateaux Parisians.
