10/10 would recommend! Food was fresh, crispy and savory. Anything you get off the menu you will not regret. Our customer service was friendly, attentive and very helpful. Felt right at home!

This review is long overdue! Friendly service and food so delicious, whether dine-in or delivery orders. We love the pork ribs, pulled pork, chicken wings and brisket with potato salad or fries, but are often done eating before we think of taking pictures. Will rectify that soon. Their hilarious sidewalk boards literally coax you in as you will see.

Great restaurant by the beach. This is in those developments by the subway. They have a big menu including some tasty looking bbq. I really really wanted to try it but I was really in the mood for a hamburger. Service was friendly and quick. The ambiance is friendly and beachy

Batesy’s BBQ and bar just earned themselves two life long customers. My boyfriend and I decided to come eat here after spending sometime on the boardwalk and we really enjoyed our meal and drinks. We had the brisket cheese fries, Grilled shrimp skewer and half a rack of St. Louis style ribs. Everything was amazing and so flavorful. Even the drinks were on point we had the pico margarita and jack black (I definitely recommend trying it) The owner Chris and waiter Sebastian were also very nice, warm and welcoming ❤️ we really appreciated their hospitality and we will definitely be coming back with our family and friends.

Honestly had nothing bad to say at all Best place i have ever been in the workers were very nice and friendly included me in the conversation and made me feel included in went home and ate my food and it was very delicious I got the 1/2 brisket with the Mac and chesse the Mac and chesse was so good it had crumbs on top of it was my favorite part and so was the brisket fatty and buttery and had BBQ sauce on top very good brisket my friend had the skewered shrimps it was very delicious also 10/10 best BBQ I've had will be coming back soon 👍🏻😊

Had a good eating experience here. We got 2 brisket sandwiches and a full rack of St. Louis ribs. Very delicious and fulfilled my BBQ needs. Parking on the street is doable especially with the ParkNYC app. I will definitely go back here.

I loved how the BBQ meats were available in 5 oz sizes, instead of just the usual 1/4 lb, 1/2 lb, etc. This let me try different meats while just visiting solo. They also have a vast selection of sides. I had the excellent slaw and mac and cheese. Right off B67 St subway station too. I''m going to be visiting on more of my Rockaway trips!

This is my third time ordering Batesy’s Bbq and the first two times I ordered food, it was delicious. Today I ordered the same meat, smoked brisket and I was more than disappointed. The sliced brisket I ordered was sitting in a container with more oil and fat than actual meat. I also ordered the Coleslaw and it was over dressed with mayonnaise, more than I had last month. I don’t think I will be returning, I am turnef off. I’m not sure if maybe because I ordered to go is the reason I was given all of the fat of the brisket, but I am unhappy.

I go to this location every now and then when I feel too lazy to travel into the city for other restaurants. I don't think I've ever been disappointed at their food quality or service before. Personally, it's my favorite restaurant in the Rockaways given how barren this place can be in terms of places to eat. The crab cake sandwich is at a fair price and tastes delicious. Crab cakes should have a slightly crunchy exterior, after all. The burgers at this restaurant are simple but good. Very good, even. I always get one whenever I come here! A side of Mac n cheese never hurts anyone either.

My friend recommended this cute little place to me cause I was in the neighborhood and in the mood for a burger. And I was pleasantly surprised! Burger was cooked medium and to perfection. Bacon on top with all the toppings. Delicious Fries were mouthwatering. And I had an IPA beer for my beverage. Very cute place. Service was great. Server was attentive and helpful. I would definitely return to try out more items on the menu. Looking forward to coming when the weather is warmer.

Always amazing. This is the best BBQ spot in Queens, get it right. Finally hit brunch up at Batsey's.. The buttermilk pancakes kill!!

Food was nice and good. I like it a lot. Went there twice. Had the chicken. Kale and calamari. Omg I love seafood. The. Went to the bar on the second time to try a lemon drop. They are very welcoming to their customers. The ambiance is so nice and calm. Did I mention it a sports bar too. Now they don't have the full menu on uber eats but it's on DoorDash so good for when I need a quick order

Some of the best bbq I've had outside of the south. It's rare that you're able to find a good bbq restaurant in NY and whenever I find a new bbq place to try I'm usually disappointed. Not today though. I did take out and tried a little bit of most of the meats (ribs, pulled pork, brisket, and sausage). It's hard to mess up pulled pork, but it's also hard to get it perfect. Batesy's came pretty close to perfect. The ribs were good, not great but I'd still get them again. The brisket was fantastic. They gave me a whole bunch of bbq sauce on the side that was delicious, but you didn't even need it because the meat was so good. And I can't forget about the sausage... also great. The restaurant and bar looked really nice, so next time I'll have to stay and eat there.

This place was great! All the meat was so flavorful and tender and just the right amount of fat. All the sides were also delicious don't know if I could pick a favorite! Our server was super sweet and was very attentive to our needs. It was pretty empty when we went so not loud at all and great AC to escape the heat. They did run out of the type of shot that comes with the beer and shot combo and gave ua a rye shot instead but it was still all very good. I would highly recommend this place!

Chris the owner is always around. Him and his entire staff are always on point. The food is fantastic!! Don't forget to try their famous Henny Colada! This is a very laid back and casual place but the food and service are perfection!

I'd rate Batesy's three and a half stars. It's usually pretty hot in the Rockaways when I typically pass Batesy's, so I'm always intrigued but not craving a plate of meat. Today, I found my Rockaways experience interrupted by a storm bringing in cool air and an appetite for BBQ. Batesy's is way more than BBQ! Eight drafts with a focus on craft beer. Two frozen cocktail machines. Small but varied selection of whiskeys including one of my favorites, Redbreast 12, and a couple interesting options like Bulleit 10 and Bulleit Cask strength. I've been overlooking the bar at Batesy's for way to long. The have a rotating list of specialty cocktails and the bar itself is long and quite nice. Food wise, I had a half rack of pork ribs, the sautéed greens, and the Mac and cheese. My favorite items was the Mac and cheese. Next time, I'd be interested in trying either the chicken or fish sandwich. I saw a large batch coming out of the fryer and they looked delicious! Service was quick, friendly, and attentive.

The food (wings) were nice, flavorful and hot! Service was still outstanding! Ambiance was super cool! Always playing a great selection of music!

I had some prior bad experiences with condiments/sauces missing from delivery and ever since then Batesy's has gone above and beyond to include extra sauces with delivery orders. I appreciate how responsive their customer service is and how much they do to provide great experience for their patrons.

Hands down, best food near 67th street. Great cornbread, solid margaritas, excellent service. Consistently wonderful.

Came in to Batesy's for the first time and I was really impressed. Incredibly clean and beautiful ambiance, with friendly staff. We ordered the Batesy's box which came with two sides and different kinds of meats. They were fast and got us running back to the apartment because it smelt so good! Holy crap... this food is good. Mac and cheese is melty, fries are crispy and the meat was so savory. The meat melted in your mouth and for the ribs it fell off the bone. We were shocked by how amazing this food was. We agreed we needed to come back, as the food was delicious and very reasonably priced! Batesy's you've earned yourself some new regulars!

I had lowered expectations given this was so close to the beach, but the food was so impressive and I'd come back here if it was closer to where I live. 6 of us shared 10 pieces of the buttermilk fried chicken and 2 beach boxes. Beach boxes come with pulled pork, roasted chicken, brisket, 3 ribs, and sausage, along with 3 sides each: we got house pickles, greens (sauteed broccoli), honey bourbon baked beans, mac & cheese, slaw, and fries. All the meats were truly good, although the roasted chicken was a bit dry while the brisket was a standout. Maybe the 2nd best brisket I've had in NYC after Pig Beach BBQ. The fried chicken was a surprise hit! The breading seemed fresh, and it was very juicy yet not greasy. From the sides, the beans really stood out with their flavor. The mac & cheese was lukewarm, so I thought it was mediocre and wouldn't get again. All the others were standard - fine but not must-haves. We also got the key lime pie, which was very appropriately tart, but the crust was soggy and the whipped cream didn't have any sweetness to it.

It's Sunday, you know what that means?!?!?!? C H E A T D A Y !!!!!! Time to try Batesy's BBQ and boy am I glad I did!!! To start i sat at the bar, but batesys is not that big inside but there is def tables to sit at, indoor and out. Ordered myself Mac and cheese and wings to start (Honey bourbon). Both appetizers were phenomenally done, a light crisp atop the Mac and cheese and the wings just drenched in delicious sauce while being very large and meaty. Along with my apps I ordered a beer off tap from their full bar. The beer was delicious too of course. Welp of course I can't stop here so I ordered a light dinner, their special, buttermilk fried chicken strips. Like the apps everything is made to order nothing not being done right within your field of view, HUGEEEEE PLUSSSSS. They come with a Korean bbq sauce which let me be up front, no matter where it's from I never like it, but I said let me try it here, again I didn't like it but it was def good if you like that type of bbq sauce. These things were cooked to perfection though. I do recommend on your next trip to the rockaway you def make this a spot to visit.

Presentation was nice, and the place was clean. But some of the food lacked flavor. The mac'n cheese balls with ribs had extra cartilage that I could've done without.

The food was delicious, the only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because they charged me for getting both sauces with my chicken. They come in 2 oz cups and for a 5 piece chicken tender two should be standard. The honey mustard was half full.

2 stars for service with a smile. But-do not order the catfish. I ordered this last summer and I'm still annoyed and disgusted from how horrible it tasted. The oil it was fried in probably was bad or maybe i was served something that had gone bad i will never know but i can tell you this, I was totally turned off and have not eaten there since!

I stumbled upon this waiting for my husband to pick me up from the train.. Surprisingly very tasty!! I'm picky when it comes to pastrami, but this was super flavorful and moist. Almost too fatty, but the meat is super tender. I love love love the fact that they used coleslaw instead of saurkraut. Bread is toasty and buttery and is DEFINITELY a cheat day sandwich. My husband devoured his brisket sandwich, so I didn't get a chance to taste. So I assume it was delicious Staff is friendly. Bartender is super entertaining. Overall a nice find in Far Rockaway!

With the Beastie boys blaring at this beachside bbq joint, you are in for a treat. It's amazing that they take this bland new development and add so much character to the spot. Seating outside and inside. Ate: 1/4 chicken Shrimp with broccoli rabe Corn More broccoli rabe Coconut pie There is a lunch special Monday - Thursday. The shrimp, corn and greens were amazing. I would have left off the pour of bbq sauce on my chicken. The pie was diabolical! Super fun beachy bbq spot.

I was recommended this place strangely enough from an Instagram ad, glad I did. Came here after a beach day with some friends. I got the crispy catfish sandwich which was fried perfectly and had the right balance of tartar sauce to bun ratio. The drinks were great frozen and refreshing. My sister got the cheese fries which came with brisket. The fries and cheese were great but the brisket was very fatty. Many pieces couldn't be eaten due to this. Will definitely be back

Honestly we ordered from here the other day and it's a hit or miss with the drinks. I always order the margarita or henny colada. The margaritas were just meh. Honestly I wanted to return them, but we had them delivered. They were a bit bitter. I get a drink from this spot at least once a week so I expect better from spot. They do to go drinks which is a plus. I don't go there for the food so this review is only for their drinks which is a hit or miss. Updating my review to four stars as the Costner service is immaculate. They read my review and reached out right away. It was too late to call and give feedback, but I'm confident they would have fixed it had I picked up the phone

Everything is pretty nice. The people are welcoming, the decor and ambiance are relaxed but modern. The meats and sauces are delicious but not particularly smoky - really that's the only thing stopping this from being 5 stars. However, the sides are great, especially the potato salad. We'd definitely come again.

Batesy has that wonderful combination of Atmosphere as well as quality of food and drinks! The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The shrimp skewer is always cooked to perfection and never over. Real mixologists behind the bar that make epic drinks and they have free parking in the back!

Batesys BBQ, was a bit of a let down. Despite the raving reviews, my friends and i were overall let down by the BBQ meat itself. The sides are delicious, and i highly suggest them. Also, the service was good. Pretty fast, and nice staff. The margarita and drink my friend had were very good too. PS prices are very reasonable. Lets start out with the good... Best damn corn bread ive ever had. However, dont eat it later - eat it at the moment. it wasnt good the next day. basically, this is more of a corn bread cake to me. the inside is slightly moist, flakey, and has a nice crust on the outside. i usually hate corn bread, but this was truly amazing. plus, the side of corn bread is very generous. potatoe salad was amazing. this is another side you cant pass up at batesys. a bit of dill splashed throughout - theres plenty of fresh flavor in every bite. perfect amount of mayo too. i wanted more and more! mac n cheese was an interesting surprise. i say surprise because the first 2 bites, i wasnt sure how i felt about the actual consistancy of the cheese sauce itself. however, i grew to like it. the serving is huge for a size, the mac n cheese sauce is gooey and cheesy to the max. my issue was how gritty the cheese felt, which might be bcause of the type of cheese they use - something is off with one of the textures. but honestly, i really liked it. where the meals went wrong were the smoked bbq chicken and the brisket. i ordered the chicken and i was so let down. first off, this didnt taste smoked at all. to be honest, the chicken felt mooshy, and just had bbq sauce thrown on it on top. it didnt taste or look smoked at all. my friend said something similar about his brisket, that it wasnt cooked for along and not smoked and that a sauce was just on top. both meats were just a disappointment, and considering its a BBQ spot youd think the smoking and long cooking of meat would have blew us out of the water. sucks.

I got the honey bbq chicken and it was nasty no flavor I will never eat that again and don't waste your money

Came here after a visit to Rockaway beach and it was a nice surprise. The brisket isn't quite what you expect from like a smoked texas bbq place but it had good marbling and was tender. My family actually went for the batesys beach box and I felt like I got a lot of value for my money. I appreciate that they even give you three sides instead of two which most places might try to shortchange you with. I felt like all of the meats were great and honestly no complaints. I might consider coming here to get a box before I go to the beach next time!

Hubby and I were looking for a restaurant to grab a quick bite to eat before heading to the beach. We found this place online and decided to stop by for brunch. We both ordered the same item from their menu - the egg and cheese sandwich on the buttermilk biscuit, except he added bacon to his sandwich. The sandwich was delicious. I loved the biscuit. The service was fast and friendly. We will definitely be back! :)

Same thing different year! The food was cold. Drinks were ok but cold brisket? Got another plate for free, more of the same. The ambiance was good but I would only return for drinks.

I misunderstood their menu on uber eats and got a burger with nothing on other the the meat patties for $14. Dry as a bone. Since I didnt add any tomato/lettuce/sauce "addons" for $0.50-$2.00. Now I have a $25 burger and fries meal with a burger doesnt even ketchup on it. Better fry up some onions at the house. Sh*t.

Batesy's is a solid local establishment. I love, love, love their bam bam chicken sandwich, which is generally my go to... but I would recommend checking their daily specials before committing to anything.

If you come here make sure to try to mac and cheese, brisket, corn bread, the burgers and most importantly their wings. Their wings are the best in the neighborhood. This is perfect for a day after the beach. The bartenders are all friendly and they make the drinks good. The food here is always good.

My daughter and I couldn't decide what to order so I think we got everything on the menu. It was delicious. The food was flavorful. Very nice relaxed outdoor or indoor options to dine. Service was great. Don't forget to try the ribs

Excellent experience. Took my mom for lunch. Didn't plan on coming here, but I'm very happy I did. Great service and awesome food! We ordered the wild gulf shrimp skewer (4 shrimp) served with sautéd greens- perfectly cooked Broccoli Rabe. My mother got the special Smoked lame sandwich. It came with a banana glaze and fennel jam. It was excellent. We were so impressed with the food we had to try a small order of the brisket and fries. That was excellent too. My mom was curious about the ribs, so we got an order of that to go. They were delicious too. The drinks looked really good, But we did not try them. We will be back.

I'm generally more into sides than meat, so if you're looking for a serious BBQ review stop reading now ha. That said I've been to some great BBQ spots in NY (most notably Hometown in Red Hook), Dallas, Austin and NC and this place is really good. The shrimp skewers are some of the best shrimp I've ever had and the broccoli rabe is a delicious touch of greens. The mac n cheese is perfect, and fantastic with the black beans and brisket (my favorite menu item!). My husband had the ribs and loved them. I was stuffed even without a meat. The lemonade is really good and the cocktails and craft beers looked very refreshing. The picnic tables outside are cute and have ample room for social distancing, and the inside is spotless. We'll definitely be back!

The only bbq spot that I know of that's close by. Their beach box is a good deal for variety, price, and the amount of food you get. Wife loves their honey bourbon wings and we usually order that along with a side. I would suggest passing on the fries as they're not crunchy and the sautéed greens.

Ordered from here about 3 times and Everytime the food gets better , I wanna experience the dine in situation I'm sure it is just as great as take out..... thank you for the great food
