Metro Detroit’s Best Fish and Chips | Eater Detroit

"This Mount Clemens gem partnered with Bell’s Brewery to serve up its bountiful plate of three pieces of cod fish, flash-fried in Two Hearted Ale, and served with fries, slaw, and tartar sauce. After the fish and chips, be sure to play a round of feather bowling. Bath City Bistro is one of just a few places in metro Detroit that has feather bowling lanes." - Serena Maria Daniels

I was impressed by the Strawberry Bruschetta, it was amazing. Could be an appetizer or dessert. I loved the Blackberry Basil Margarita. Kate was our server and she created the marg flavor, and she was great. Fish & Chips was my entree and the fries were delicious, seasoned very well, and the fish was fresh and batter was perfect. 10/10 recommend

I wanted to take my wonderful girlfriend to a very nice dinner and this place popped up once I searched the area online. The reviews and photos online don't compare to the real deal. As soon as I walked in till we walked out, I was amazed. Our waitress was new but she did an exceptional job making sure we were satisfied. The food was amazing and extremely fast. We didn't wait any more than 15 minutes for the steak bites appetizers and the salmon entree. We will definitely recommend this to friends and family. It gives you that very high-end experience at a really good price. We will be going back.

Just had a graduation party at Bath City Bistro and had a blast. We reserved a feather bowling lane for several hours and ordered food packages from their catering menu. Lisa Smart was great to work with in making the reservation and handling all the details. The food was fantastic and the staff assigned to our party were top notch. Thank you Lisa and crew! I highly recommend them.

Google
Celebrated our 3 year anniversary at this place. It was super easy to find and park, no wait was a plus. We got a nice table with view to downtown. The food was really good, I had their Michigan chicken which was flavorful. Order their Old Fashioned and their moscato. It took 3 times to get the moscato right, but the house was nice to cover for their errors. I recommend this place :)

Google
This place is pretty awesome! We went for an early lunch on Friday and it wasn’t busy at all which was nice. The food was delicious and came out pretty quickly. We played feather bowling for the first time and it was really fun. We had 4 people and rented a lane for an hour which was $50. Great experience!

December 2023 - came here after doing the escape room nearby with the family. They have feather bowling and a small menu. Mostly sandwiches, chicken fingers and some fish dishes. Food was very good. The family gives an A+++ to the Cheese curds. The grilled cheese sandwich was a kids meal. My wife ordered the chicken fingers and fries. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. It was good. My 8yr old said this is a good place for a date, family or to bring your good friends. Overall, this was a good place and the staff was great.

Google
We’ve had good dinners here so tried out the brunch yesterday. It was terrible! Watery scrambled eggs that would seem undercooked, bacon that was tasteless, French toast that was tough, Mac and cheese that taste like a salt shaker was dumped on it, and chicken tenders that were over fried and dried out. Very disappointing and we took out of town guests here thinking since dinner there twice was good the breakfast brunch would be. It’s not. Stick to your evening chef and the dinners.

Google
Started out with an old fashioned then the New York strip and garlic mashed potatoes with asparagus and after we had the chocolate chip lave cookie and Key lime pie and all were made to perfection! Next time we'll be back for the food with friends and feather bowling!

Yelp
It had been well over 15 years since we have been here. We wanted to throw something new into the mix and we decided to check it out. Food was amazing! The menu has a great variety and selection of entrees. I had the lemon chicken, swapped the rice for mashed potatoes. Chicken was great!! The lemon sauce had a nice and bright tang. Potatoes were just ok, generous portion. The roasted asparagus was perfectly cooked!! It was a very satisfying plate!

Yelp
I been here before but I will admit the brunch taste old and this was at noon. The chicken should be fried in flower it gave off fish batter vibes. Mimosas were great. Macaroni and cheese was salty, bacon was hard, French toast wasn't good either. Eggs were fine. Diced potatoes were great. I prefer their dinner menu because everything on it is excellent. Service was fine. But the group all agreed we won't be going back for brunch.

Yelp
Sorry' Bath City Bistro's happy hour went down hill. We are so disappointed with the new happy hour restrictions. One hour now instead of three hours as it was for years. Wednesday thru Saturday still in play. No longer 1/2 off everything on the menu including all bar selections which included mixed drinks premium or not. We loved the past happy hour, it was great for us seniors and we brought many with us. We had memorable afternoons there and had time to sit and enjoy everything about the place. Please bring the past happy hour back, as it was the best and made Bath City Bistro unique. It was the best unlimited happy hour, hands down anywhere. Sadly now it's just an average bar happy hour. Nothing any longer to rave about.

Yelp
I'm surprised I have not reviewed Bath City yet! This is one of my "go to" places in The Clem. I have had several events here. My 30th birthday party was upstairs as were several work events and retirement parties etc. This is a feather bowling place, but also a restaurant and bar. So you can do what you'd like as far as that goes. We chose to sit at the bar as that's our usual preference. We got the last two seats and before we knew it that place was totally packed! The bartenders were running around like crazy! Our bartender Derrick was the best!! As busy as it was he remained cheerful and attentive! We ordered a couple of beers to start and then found out it was happy hour until 6! Happy Hour on a sat?? That's awesome! Since the pandemic most places have done away with happy hour as they open later. I'm super excited to see that some are bringing it back! We absolutely love a good happy hour and will go out of our way to go places that have a good one. We ordered our food and it was so fast! He chose a wrap of some sort. I didn't pay too much attention because my Bistro Shrimp was so incredible!!! Apparently, I moan when I like what I'm eating and I was definitely moaning. Haha. It was so delicious! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I rarely eat my whole portion and I practically licked my plate clean!! After dinner we decided to have a couple of cocktails. I absolutely love caramel and could drizzle caramel on just about anything and eat it. So when I saw the Kissed Caramel Chata, it was absolutely calling my name! It was a perfect dessert drink! Absolute heaven! They have a fairly extensive martini list as well. I had ordered a pear martini and was confused that it came in a mule cup. Derrick recognized my surprise and realized he made me a mule instead of a martini (they were sooo busy!) He told me to just drink it and he will make me a martini. I have not tried a Moscow mule in forever so I wasn't sure if I would like it. To my astonishment it was fantastic! Now I'm interested in trying different types! "There are no mistakes in life only happy accidents!" ~Bob Ross. I am thinking of having a get together upstairs again as it's been a while! Most definitely will be back. I want more of that shrimp!!

Samantha J.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my meal here! Their food is excellent! My party enjoyed their lemon chicken, chicken and dumplings, Michigan salad, and perch. I indulged in one of their martinis made with cranberries and it was delicious! Service was awesome as well. I will be back!

Renea W.

Yelp
The food was wonderful. Small selection for veggie sides that I didnt like either choice, but I was able to do a salad instead at no extra charge. Terrible waitress but thats the luck of the draw. I had an issue with my bill after and Management comped me my entire bill so they made good on the waitress mistake, The Chicken Marsala was amazing,

Yelp
Came in on a Sunday afternoon for feather bowling. Fun activity in a cool, historical building. We ordered drinks which were good. Can't speak for the food because we couldn't order anything off a menu as they were only serving brunch downstairs in the dining room. But it was pretty full so assuming it is good. If you're looking for a fun, different type of group activity with family or friends you would probably like it.

Yelp
This place has a great vibe and seasonal Fall menu. This was our first visit and we were super impressed! Had chips & dip for app (delicious). Loved the pretzel-encrusted walleye and the apple cider mule was FANTASTIC! Best, most refreshing "cider" I've ever had! LOL

Yelp
We come here for brunch every once in a while and it is one of the best deals you can find. Haven't had anything else off the menu aside from the brunch buffet. Food is pretty good and when it's busy it's getting turned over quite often which is nice when you want to go back for seconds (or thirds..) We have our wedding shower booked here so I am looking forward to trying more off their menu.

Yelp
We often bring guests to Bath City. People often visit for the feather bowling. The food is also fantastic - we frequently order a variety of dishes and everything is always fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere was lively and the decor had an art-deco vintage vibe. The service is usually outstanding. Overall, a great spot for a fun night out with friends or family!

Yelp
Feather bowling is a ton of fun. No complaints on the food and service. The location allows for a good experience

Yelp
I was so blown away at how NOT good the food this weekend was. I don't leave bad reviews but after 100 tab for mediocre service and badly Fried food and Burgers I have to this time. I love local establishments and this is not far from my house but it's clear why I haven't been here in a couple years since they had the all you can eat perch that was actually decent. It is not good unfortunately.
google avatar

Christinmarie L.

Yelp
Everything was delicious!!! Salmon was amazing! Even my sister in law that hates spinach loved the spinach. The Mediterranean salad was different than the kind I had in the past it was very fresh and yummy! Definitely coming back soon!

Yelp
I forgot to leave this review after Easter 2023, but, the 5 stars are specifically for the bartender that day. We came at the tail end of the brunch buffet, which was...fine. It was just fine. But the bartender was kind enough to hook us up with the rest of the mimosas since brunch was well over. We were literally the last people at the bar. We appreciated all the love & wonderful service even though we walked in super late like a bunch of jerks. We would happily accommodate you guys during closing anytime :)
google avatar

Crystal H.

Yelp
Three out of four people did not enjoy their food. I had the salmon it was just mediocre. The service was slow. He may have been over extended in too many areas. The hostess was great!

Yelp
* We were the Only 2 patrons in the restaurant * Waitress had only us, her 1 table * She was the most inattentive waitperson I think I've ever had. She looked actually mad when we walked in. Very bizarre. * Cook "over cooked" both our fries. Had to wait. We were done eating our food when they were finally brought out. Did I get compensated for that? NOPE! On atleast 1 order of fries, NOPE! * Sat so long waiting for our check. Just sitting and sitting .... As I said, she was the most unattentive waitperson ever. Just a bogus, weird experience at this place. We heard some commotion from employees. Like they were setting up something but doesn't give the excuse not to give a f*ck about your table. Tipped her only $4. That was the least amount I have ever tipped. I always, ALWAYS tip %30. But I shouldn't even of tipped her that honestly. Should have been $0.

Sharon G.

Yelp
Had a wedding shower here that went really well. Plenty of time given to set up, buffet food was really good (especially the homemade ranch dressing and asparagus). Server was great and did double duty as bartender. Use of the feather bowl lane was fun-even 89 year old gma could play. Having a separate space just for us was great.

Gary L.

Yelp
We did feather bowling on the smaller of the two upstairs alleys. The areas were filthy. It looked like the lanes hadn't been cleaned or vacuumed in months, with dust and debris all over. The upstairs bathrooms were nasty. Only 2 of four lights worked in the men's room and the overhead fan was rusted and noisy. It looked like the trash hadn't been picked up in days and the countertops were pretty nasty too. The place overall is in disrepair. We had appetizers which were "meh". We decided to not have dinner after bowling because of the overall look and yucky feel of the place. This is a family restaurant, not just a bar. We had been there numerous times pre-COVID and were surprised as to how down hill things have gone. Pretty sad to see. However, the bright spot was that our waitress was awesome!
google avatar

Jay N.

Yelp
So initially I left a review awhile back with 3 stars as my experience was meh. Ownership reached out and asked that we give it another shot. Now I'm always down to give a business an opportunity to redeem themselves, I'm a chef I have off days like anyone else. So last week I happened to be in the Clem and said hey let's give Bath City a shot. It was lunchtime around 12:30 on a weekday. We walked in and the place was 1/2 empty we thought we'd get sat right away. WRONG! The hostess or server who sort of greeted us seemed flustered and asked if we had reservations which we didn't and were promptly told they were super busy and we'd have at least a 30 minute wait for a table. I was super puzzled as I looked directly into the dining room at 6-8 empty tables on one side and on the bar side at least as many more? I didn't bother to try to ask questions as we were told our option was to sit at the bar and wait for exactly what I'm not sure.. we decided to leave and quite possibly won't be returning they really need to get it together. My friend went in for brunch buffet and said they ran out of a bunch of items an hour before it was over. This used to be the got to place 20 years ago. It's quickly becoming the don't go to place.

Pete A.

Yelp
What a sad disappointment the Sunday Brunch was was! The food was not hot..warm at best. Not much of a selection!! I had so looked forward to this Brunch-We will not be going back. Not worth the price at all !!!
google avatar

Hailie C.

Yelp
Featherball is very fun! Clean area, good service, food is typically good, sometimes too much balsamic. Loved the pizza!

Kim H.

Yelp
Went with friends and had salads and pizza. Everything was good. Feather bowling was fun! Very easy to do. Would definitely do again.
google avatar

Harry B.

Yelp
Past lunches were very good. Hah a late lunch today. The menu is completely different and a very poor selection. Mostly chicken lunch items. My chicken sandwich was over cooked and was not on the bun from the menu. We ordered coffee. Burned or old and not drinkable. There is nothing on the menu that would bring us back. Sorry to loose a nice place for lunch. Never again. I would rate it zero stars.
google avatar

Sub S.

Yelp
The food here depends on when you go. We went for the 3$ mimosas and brunch buffet(only on Sundays). The mimosas were really good and I would come back for just that. The brunch was a mix, most of it was disappointing and cold (french toast, waffles, eggs) but then there was the chicken strips and mac and cheese, those were really good and hot. so breakfast wise I would rate this place 2-3/5 stars. BUT, with the chicken and mac and cheese being good, we decided to try this place for dinner. It was a completely different experience. The service is good, I had Cajun shrimp penne and loved it. My SO had the lemon chicken and was pleasantly surprised at how well cooked and seasoned it was. I would recommend coming here for dinner, and I will be back!
google avatar

Michael T.

Yelp
I know quite a few people that seem to love this place, but even after multiple times coming here, I am left wondering why?! Every time I've come here, the food seems mediocre. The pasta seems overdone, the meat seems bland. The only real thing that seems to be going for them are the drinks, even then, some of the bar tenders don't know the main ingredients for common drinks. I had once bartender who didn't know how to make a Long Island.
google avatar

Rose S.

Yelp
***My review is based solely on the food. The Feather Bowling was alot of fun!*** Came here for a work offsite and I have never heard of feather bowling before so I figured it would be a good time. I read some Yelp reviews before we came and I didn't see too much about the food so I wasn't sure what to expect. Well..now I know why. It wasn't necessarily bad, but it wasn't that great either. There were also 2 other groups there so it was slightly busy. Ordered the Calamari, Cheese Sticks and Spinach Artichoke dip to start off with. The Calamari is cut into big chunks and it sits in the wine sauce which left them soggy, which was kind of disappointing. If the slices were thinner and breaded better, they would have been really good. The white wine sauce with capers is pretty good. The spinach artichoke dip wasn't too bad and neither were the cheese sticks. I ordered a chicken wrap with buffalo sauce. The chicken was dripping in the buffalo sauce so my wrap fell apart and there was sauce all over the place. Not exactly what I was hoping for, I ended up eating half my sandwich. Some coworkers ordered the grinder and liked it, and also the corned beef made into a Reuben. The beer selection is good, and they do have a massive Martini list. The Feather Bowling was a lot of fun and I'd definitely come back with another group just to grab drinks and do it again. I probably wouldn't eat here again, but it's a fun environment in a nice building. PARKING TIP - There really isn't a lot, but bring lots of quarters since it costs about $1/hour...or download the mobile app since it's easier then having to go outside and keep reloading the meter.
google avatar

Dee K.

Yelp
We had to wait quit some time for our appetizer. Drinks were out pronto. The issue started when they switched waitresses. Not her fault, but we fell into the cracks. Came out tonight to avoid the New Year mayhem. Blackened salmon was not blackened. There is a difference. Hoping this is a one off. Not our typical experience.
google avatar

Ryan S.

Yelp
Came here for a work function and I was made aware that they changed ownership and not sure this affected food or what, but my meal was not too good, and that's me being nice. My go to dish, blackened chicken breast and rice, was removed from the menu; however, they were able to accommodate it, so I was happy for that. With that said, my happiness quickly faded when I got the dry distressed chicken :(. It was dry with no taste other than the Cajun seasoning poured all over it. The rice was super dry and I didn't even finish it, which says a lot seeing that I'll eat anything. Other folks at the table had other issues, such as getting sautéd perch that appeared to have breading and deep fried. Then another person had chicken strips that were soaked in a grease or something....very odd. In addition to all this, they used to allow us two free hours (during the day) of feather bowling for our work function, but under the new regime it was not allowed. I'm okay with paying, that's fine, but I guess it was more about how it was handled. In the end, I'd be hesitant on going back.
google avatar

Adrianne C.

Yelp
Food was good, a little over priced for what you got. No one was there to seat you when you walked it and a sign said go see bar tender, but after walking to the bar no one was there either. It is quite noisy if you're sitting on the bar side because people are feather bowling above you.

Yelp
It was birthday time again for me. It seems to happen every year or so. This time, we celebrated at Bath City Bistro, and this time, about 45 people showed up, all prepared to remind me that I ain't gettin any younger and time marches on. Since I didn't have a hand in planning the surprise birthday party, I gleaned some information afterwards. Apparently, the staff at Bath City Bistro are prepared for small gatherings by renting out the spaces upstairs for private parties. They have two feather bowling lanes up there, one on either side of the floor, allowing for separate groups if need be. An elevator supplements the stairways for easy access. The menu was simple. Salad and pizza, offered on a per-person basis, the price all tied in to bowling rental-by-the-hour. No need to bring your own bowling ball, or worry about renting shoes. They have you covered here, providing everything you need for a great time. Since my group consisted of a variety of friends and family, this gathering proved to be quite a hit amongst many attendees. Just the right amount of space, the food was good, and we were up and away from the rest of the dining customers, able to have fun and converse in a casual setting. Additionally, an old-style clawfoot bathtub on display accents the decor nicely, along with the various framed pictures of Mount Clemens' heyday when it reigned supreme in the world for providing therapeutical mineral baths. Sadly, I did so much socializing that I never took an opportunity to try my hand at bowling. Perhaps I can, one of these days .....

Alyssa E.

Yelp
First time visiting it here and I can't say one thing bad. From walking in and being greeted by the host was amazing . Great personalities and just happy people. The food will not disappoint we went with appetizers and salads but the steak bites are the best!! Not to mention they have a lot of martini options which I'm totally okay with! Our server was Lilian and she was so kind.. so if you come In definitely request her. :)

Yelp
We went to BCB for an office party, so this review is based on that. I've been here on my own, but it's been a very long time. I guess I'll have to remedy that soon. We had a nice space upstairs, just adjacent to one of the feather bowling lanes. The lunch setup was down the main hallway, near an upstairs bar. I'm glad I wasn't drinking, they were having some issues and it took a while for everyone to get served. The beer eventually flowed, but it was slow going. The food was all very good, from the chicken dish to the pasta, as well as the sides. I'm not sure I've ever seen a garden salad with orange slices in it, but I didn't get any, so I'm not going to complain. They had pitchers of pop and water, so I kept hydrated. There were only one or two servers that came around from time to time, I think they could have more at the start and then less so plates would get cleared a little more quickly. The feather bowling was great, everyone enjoyed it. We had a nice party, and it definitely made me want to come back and try the normal menu, especially the all-you-can-eat perch on whatever night it is. Definitely a good stop when you're in the Clem.

Yelp
Well. It took us 3 years to come back after our last less than pleasant experience. Honestly, I am not sure what is happening here. We ordered the Michigan Chicken Cherry meal $18.00,not the Salad. I get prices have gone up but I don't think there was even near 1/4 pound of chicken on the dish. Go figure now, if chicken is $2.99/pound which I think is less for restaurants, this is .99 cents worth of chicken. Less for this dish as like I said there was no way there was 4oz(1/4 pound) of chicken on that plate. Add three table spoons of cream gravy a few dried cherries and 1/4 cup of that of rice and you get $18.00. We did speak with the manager who said each dish was 4oz of chicken. Well, there ya go you get 4 ounces of chicken for $18.00. Go elsewhere. This used to be a weekly fav. Not any more!

Paul K.

Yelp
This place is really great. The atmosphere is pleasant, the food is always good. The staff is super friendly and the Sunday brunch is great!
google avatar

Mel K.

Yelp
We wanted to try some place new, and my wife had never been here before. We totally enjoyed everything about this place and will definitely be back. If this place is not on your regular list of places to frequent for a good meal then it should be.

Yelp
It was so hard decide what to order so we tried a few items. 1st the happy hr menu...the house made chips perfectly salted & the battered onion rings that were enough to share w 4 people but the 2 of us managed to smash them. Instead of entrees, I ordered steak bites & a half Mediterranean salad. O. M. G. I have no idea how that salad was HALF size because it was a big enough portion for 2 (pic shows no feta...I'm not a fan of cheese). The steak bites were amazing with a perfectly spiced cajun sauce & red peppers (no blue cheese..again, I don't like cheese..Ik...I'm "weird") My fiance ordered the mussels app (scampi style) & a half caesar salad. The mountain of mussels that came out was NOT "app sized"! Between his Mmmmm's & OMGs...I thought he was going to pick up the bowl & drink the broth until Nancy offered him more bread rolls to soak it up & just a few minutes later they came freshly out of the oven. I honestly don't think there's anything you can go wrong with on this menu. The ambiance is great, dim but not annoying where you can't see your food...oddly the feather bowling "thuds" are quite soothing. One of my newly favorite restaurants...we will be back, I need to save room next time for a hot fudge cream puff!
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
Ground Sirloin, medium rare. Tomato. Lettuce. Swiss cheese. Ketchup & Mayo. On a buttered, brioche bun. Literally, the BEST burger I have EVER eaten in my lifetime. Seriously. I could've smashed 3 more, because they're THAT delicious. I'm blown away. This place is very trendy, has feather bowling, and amazing cocktails. Chris it's the best bartender too! Can't wait to come back!

Steve B.

Yelp
Arrived and was ignored for the best part of 10 mins. Eventually got a table and waited longer for a server who literally said yeah just go cue up !! Food was horrid cold offerings burn bacon "we're know. For our Mac and cheese". We were told. Yeah because it's horrible. Over charged me on drinks then told me it might be up to a week before my bank refunded me Seriously !!! Is that just insane. If you like slops poor services and being scammed when you pay then this is the place for you. For those of you with more intelligence stay away from this place. It's shocking and horrid.
google avatar

Cindy S.

Yelp
Omg the worst service and food I've ever had! Was at Emerald Theater for a dance recital than walked over with the family for dinner. Got a bad vibe right away...lighting, I hate dim restaurants! Now I understand the Covid is a problem with getting help let alone good help but....wow and wow. Our waiter must have had a day job at the local dispensary! He took our order, my step son ordered a round (specifically) pizza...10 mins later waiter comes back "I forgot to ask, do you want round or square pizza"? Well we knew we were going to be there for awhile! The 10 oz steak shrunk to 6oz steak...$21, no salad tiny cold baked potato with greasy oleo, no butter! The pizza was so bad my stepson took one bite and pushed the whole thing aside, I asked for S&P....food was cold to begin with but now it's ice cubes because I had to finally get up to ask another waitress for S&P. Did I mention it was absolutely freezing in there? OK...one more thing....Sanders Hot Fudge cream puff on menu...yippee. ok so where's the SANDERS HOT FUDGE? If I wanted Hershey's hot fudge...well I wouldn't have ordered it, I wanted Sanders spacifically!!! Told the manager they needed to tell people they were getting a knock off hot fudge for $7, she said they had to use it because blah blah blah. One in our party ordered a salad that never came but was on the bill...they paid and said nothing. I didn't complain about anything but the fudge, but I want to scream to you.... DON'T DO IT!!!!!! Foot note....you get charged for rolls!!!! Our bill came to well over $140....and we had to pay for bread!!!

Kathy L.

Yelp
Bar service was great. Quesadilla was not the best, burnt tortilla and not much filling, no salsa or guacamole on the side. Strawberry basil Mule was fantastic. Not a super selection of bottled beer. Feather bowling was so much fun!

Yelp
Husband and I went on a date here and loved it! Great service and delicious food. We went for dinner but I'd love to try their lunch too. I got Salmon with potatoes and the Thai Carrot soup. Super good. Salmon was cooked perfectly. Husband got Fish n Chips and the French onion soup. He loved it! Great cuts of fish and good batter. Not too expensive either. Decently priced for a nice dinner.

Yelp
Dropped by for brunch with some friends and found it very enjoyable. Place was somewhat empty on a Sunday afternoon. I had the Tuna melt and really enjoyed it, the apple walnut bread made the sandwich. The different textures and tastes were awesome. I have no problem recommending that to anyone. Crock of French onion soup was also great. Wife had the Southwest Wrap and loved it. Spicy and full of flavor. Building was interesting and clean. Prices were reasonable.

Maria C.

Yelp
I love food and restaurants. I generally wish every hard working restaurant well. Stopped in tonight for a quick drink. Friend I was was with has been going there for years and loves it. But the icy reception by the woman at the door put us off. We wanted to look at the feather bowling upstairs and were told no. There were only two or three tables with people there tonight. Understand that it wasn't opened upstairs but here's the thing: it's Covid time. Everyone's doing their best to survive. You've got to make people feel welcome. We didn't feel welcome. Not cool. Edited: changed from 1 to 5 stars based on response from Manager. Thank you!

Yelp
We are very understanding about costs, the challenge with employees and the difficult times restaurants have been going through. Guess what???? All of those things have affected EVERY ONE of us! While we understand that businesses must raise prices here is what we are NO LONGER willing to accept - you have raised prices but cut out salads/ sides with your entrees and then to add an extra insult charged $5.00 for four half slices of bread!!! not even 4 whole slices. $1.25 for 1/2 slice of bread. There were ten of us in our group - three ordered the same chicken pasta dish. The difference in the servings was obvious - one had about four pieces of chicken. Another guest ordered a different pasta dish and had only a few pieces of chicken. Should have been fairly obvious to the kitchen. We are willing to pay the prices WHEN we receive a fair serving. We all have choices

Yelp
Even though the name is super fancy, I wouldn't classify this place as swanky or anything...but it is pretty nice inside. Mt. Clemens was home to some of the more famous bath houses in America in the late 1800s. Mt. Clemens High School is also the home of the Battling Bathers. Bath City Bistro decided to base their image on the heritage of the city. It's pretty cool. A friend of mine turned 50 this year and he decided to celebrate this momentous occasion with a soiree at Bath City Bistro. He had the event catered by the Bistro. They provided pizza and salad. The pizza was pretty good. It was a 'light on the sauce' type of 'zza with a fairly fluffy crust. The sauce was sparsely laid on top of the cheese, which is not (in my humble opinion) where the sauce should go. That's a conversation for another social media outlet. I wonder if the Instatwitspacebox has an opinion on this issue. I did imbibe in some alcoholic beverages (responsibly, of course) in the form of craft brews. The Bistro had a pretty decent selection of bottled beers. Our party was located upstairs and there was a small bar up there. I didn't venture downstairs to the main bar to take in the selection of beers on tap. Judging from the beer menu, it didn't seem like there was a large selection. Bath City Bistro is one of very few locations in Michigan where you can partake in the sport of feather bowling. In Mt. Clemens, they play a variant to the game called Belgian Trough Bowling. The lanes are curved like a trough...go figure. From the Feather Bowling wiki: "the balls are rolled down a trough shaped dirt or synthetic alley towards a feather sticking out opposite ends of the lane. The object of the game is to get the ball as close to the feather as possible. Teams take turns rolling 12 balls (6 for each team) and may knock their opponent's balls out of the way, similar to Bocce. The team with balls closest to the feather at the end of the round wins 1 point per ball. The game is over when one team scores 10 points.". The game is truly a lot of fun. Overall, Bath City Bistro did not disappoint. The 50th birthday party was wonderful. The staff at this place was attentive and made sure that our area was kept neat and tidy. The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a great night out with a group of peeps, come here. It's a unique experience that's a lot of fun. They have 4 lanes available for reservations. I'm not sure if there's an 'open bowling' night or anything. I'm not your mom, pick up the phone and give this place a call. Thanks for reading! - strik9

Yelp
My Favorite local eatery. Quiet, fun friendly atmosphere. Has Feather Bowling - 3 separate lanes for fun getogetgers. Prices are reasonable, as well as a well rounded out menu. Full Bar and a good wine selection.
