Decent Bar - Duds for Patrons We were staying in the area and noticed this place on so stopped in! Good thing we did! The place was full of locals and as soon as we walked in we were greeted by a few of them. The owner came over and introduced himself and shook our hands. Really made us feel comfortable and welcome. We didn't try the pizza and apparently they are known for that! We ordered the wings and the Rueben sandwich. Both were good. This isn't a very big place which makes it nice and cozy. Thanks

Local joint nearest to my AirBnB. I LOVE Dive Bars, and this one is pretty divy. Smoking permitted indoors but they also serve a limited bar menu. John and Drew behind the bar both have been great servers.

This is a dive bar, complete with ashtrays on the bar and cheap beer. I was early for my dinner meeting around the corner and stopped in here for a quick pint. It's not fancy and it's not especially clean (the glass was). But the parking was free and the beer was cold, so I am not complaining.

Food is standard pub fare some menu items are good, others are ok but overall you it's a good bang for your buck. Service is awesome the bartenders are super chill and friendly. Ambiance, is local vibe with random stragglers going/coming from Downtown or Ascend. It's a really cool Dive and unique because of the proximity to downtown. It is a smoking bar so be forewarned.

Great dive bar. Good chow and great Bloody Mary's. Stopped for lunch and loved the local vibe. Will definitely be back!!

My absolute favorite bar in Nashville! Good, reasonably priced drinks served up by even better people. Patio seating, plenty of tv's for game day, a jukebox and the best thin crust square pizza in nashville!

Went there a couple years ago, great dive bar. Owner drank with us and even drove us to get bbq at another restaurant! He then picked us up, drank some more there. He asked for my address and sent me 5 Batters Box shirts. Going back to Nashville in February can't wait to go

Everything and more! Small, friendly and divey with decent food and strong drinks. After the gulch and downtown with clients we all need a place like this to decompress. SAVE THE DIVE BARS!

Love it. We just moved here from Orlando and are trying to replace our previous watering hole, and found this little dive. Great vibe. Bartender says she's been there for 12 years and that's a good sign. Pizza was on point too

Went to Batters Box on a recommendation while visiting from out of town and we weren't disappointed. Felt instantly at home! Thanks Chris and Jeremy for taking care of us Oregon girls! Can't wait to visit again. Great company, drinks and pizza!

This is probably one of the most legit spots in SoBro. If you're looking for a break away from the tourist traps and want to just kick back for some good tunes and people this is the place to be. This is 100% the place to drink before a Titans home game, and as of last year they were still running a game day shuttle that is one of the best kept secrets in Nashville

If you ever want to try a laid back dive bar, this is the place. It is easy to find since it is just south of Downtown. It is near Hermitage Cafe and Crema. After my first visit, this place was like cheers. They know my name and my drink of choice without me even asking. The drinks are cheap yet strong. Their ritas are something to write home about. There isn't a Pre-mixed cocktail here.... Oh no, totally fresh. They have a very limited food menu, but the pizza is very good. Especially on a long drinking day. The best part is the off the menu goodness. On Sunday's, they have free home cooked food. It can range from chili, chicken dinners, etc. They also have 2-4-1 beer on Sunday's too. They also have themed nights for food. Wednesday is steak night and Thursday is pork chop night. Overall it is a great low key chilled spot where people are not constantly asking "what do you do?", but it also isn't the spot where you meet your future spouse either.

Nice low key atmosphere, amply patroned by a slightly older crowd. Bartender promptly took our order from a menu of sandwiches, pizzas, salads, and a burger. Indoor and outdoor seating, with smoking allowed in both. Rueben was good, and the patty on the burger was really good. If you don't want to stay in the stuffy smoke filled inside, outside is the place to go.

You want a Great Little Pizza, this place has it! Drinks are right up my ally too! Staff is very attentive & friendly. If you like dive bars where you can smoke inside, get a GOOD drank, & now a good pizza for good money... this is your spot!

Let me just say, Battersbox is a great place to go before any event at Ascend. I went with a group of friends before a concert and it was the cheapest, easiest deal in town! The booze is cheap, the pizza is great, and the staff and regulars are friendly. The only down side is that you can smoke in the place/trailer, but if you are a smoker it's your dream come true. As a nonsmoker the reasonable prices are too good not to go back!

A true dive bar. If you are looking for something else, you will most likely be disappointed. A true dive bar is few and far between in Nashville these days!

We wanted to grab a drink but people were smoking inside and it reaked of smoke. Not cool when the bar is so small.

I just moved to Nashville a couple of months ago and this bar makes me feel at home. Everyone is super friendly and when the owner found out that it was my birthday and I'm a fan of baseball, gave me tickets to the Nashville sounds game. Their food is pretty good. Apparently their pizza is amazing but I haven't had a chance to try it yet. They have a corned beef sandwich that I am in love with. It's definitely a chill and friendly place to go for a casual experience. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Fun little sports bar to go to after a Sounds game. Had heard their pizza was very good- and I wasn't disappointed. Our group had a couple pizzas with several different toppings and we were all very pleased with it. Good selection of drinks, fun little crowd and a tasty pizza. Yeah, I'm a fan.

This bar caters to regulars. If you get there before the owners is drunk, he might welcome you. Depending on his mood. The pizza is good, but if you have a hot plate or George Forman grill, save yourself some money and cook at home. DON'T RUN A TAB! And if you do, keep up with it. Staff will add more then you order if they think your not paying attention. There are many more bars in Nashville that appreciate your business and serve Real food. Not frozen. This dump does not represent Music City. I have to select a star rating so I will regretfully choose one. Only because they don't offer a Negative One.

Smokey yet satisfying. Awesome staff and tourist free! Best patio in the city for a cheap beer and sunset.
