The atmosphere really good and scenic. The server was patient and friendly. However she didn’t check the dishes before giving us a dirty glass of water. The crispy calamari with the banana peppers was ok including the mustard style sauce that came with it. The shrimp linguine was undercooked and seasoned-less however the presentation was good. The host was ok but unwelcoming. No smiles, no excitement. The food was definitely overpriced. The fish and chip was ridiculous for the sized verses the price. The fish tasted like it was cooked in old oil. One of the four of us didn’t eat after getting a dirty glass because it made us question if we were being served with dirty dishes and clean food. For a popular area it could’ve been better. We wouldn’t come here again.

I just had to share what an incredible experience I had here. As a visiting physician caring for COVID patients, this turned out to be the best dining experience I've had in the city. The ambiance and view were stunning, and the drinks were both creative and refreshing. The food was absolutely delicious! What truly stood out, though, was the amazing service. Brian, my server, was so knowledgeable and attentive—he really made the meal special. Even Michael, the general manager, stopped by to check in on me a few times throughout the evening. Despite the restaurant hosting two large parties, I never felt overlooked. In fact, I felt more cared for than at any other place I’ve been to. Everything about this spot was perfect. It’s officially my new favorite place in NYC! A big thank you to Michael and Brian for making the night unforgettable.

The ambiance and location paired with one of the remaining beautiful days of summer are the only reasons this place was lovely. (I don't hold the construction that blocked the gorgeous sunset against them. The City is always improving.) And that's where the positive ends. Unfortunately, the service was s-l-o-w. It was almost as if the place didn't get more staff to handle the wedding. The host didn't remember that one of us was a guest, so she sent us to the "public" restroom. The salmon was greasy; more like oil with salmon than the reverse. My Americano had to be redone 3 times: brown water, warm brown water, hot reused grounds. I gave up and said it was good. The server who made it (yup) was super polite, obviously trying his best, and simply didn't know better. They didn't charge us for it. In a line, come for the view; eat and drink elsewhere.

Nice location all the way around, with a view of Battery Park, World Trade Center and the Statue of Liberty across the water. Good food and the wine was lovely. Really recommend this restaurant, it definitely lives up to its name!

Google
Food was good. I ordered the halibut with fingerling potatoes and green beans. My boyfriend ordered the streak with mashed potatoes and asparagus with avocado on the side. My fish was over cooked and dry. Since we were in a rush I didn’t send it back. The green beans were sent 5 minutes after the meal but was very good. The potatoes needed salt but once added was good. My boyfriend enjoyed his steak and potatoes.

Google
Beautiful venue. My company just had its summer party there. Open bar. Lots of food and people carrying trays of items. Fantastic views of Ellis island, the statue of liberty, governors island, and the bay. Very nice. Right on the water. Lots of trees, and embedded in a park, so very green surroundings. Beautiful place.

Went at a rather slow time of the day, about 345pm. Server was a bit slower, but I understand it’s between busy times so this was expected. She was very nice though once she made it over. I was there with my 1 year old son and she went out of the way to help me. Ordered the chicken plate and it did not disappoint! Chicken was cooked absolutely perfect and had great flavor. Prepared like a 5 star dish at a reasonable price for being at the Battery. I would highly recommend!

Google
Service was excellent! The view amazing! We just had drinks and appetizers enough for 5 to snack and enjoy the afternoon. Crab cakes had delicious flavor.

Yelp
Looking for a bite to eat before visiting the Statue of Liberty, I was looking around the vicinity of the ferry terminal and found The View at The Battery Beer Garden just a few steps away. With no other places to eat in sight, I figured I'd take a look and see what kind of food they had to offer. From reviewing their options, they seemed to have general New York favorites like burgers and hot dogs which was good enough at the time. Entering the patio, there were an array of tables with umbrellas for sunny weather as well as a stand in the rear with the kitchen and an ordering booth. Walking up, I decided on two Giant Hot Dogs which were each $7 at the time of this review. I was given a buzzer and waited for about 5 minutes until my food was ready. Being an outdoor quick service type of eatery, I set my expectations low in order to not disappoint myself. But when I received my hot dogs, I was pleasantly surprised. Each hot dog was about double the length of the bun which really appealed to the price to portion perspective. Each link was thick and was fulfilling after eating two hot dogs. This fact really made the expenditure worth it. Each bun was of a good size too and held each hot dog without being too small or too large. At the $7 price tag, many might say that this is way too expensive for a hot dog. But when comparing to the $3 or $4 hot dogs found in many street carts in New York, I didn't mind paying more for double the size and for it to be from a brick and mortar establishment. In all, price to portion was good. The taste of the hot dog was also much better than I initially anticipated it to be. Although very simple, the exterior of the hot dog needed a bit of force before I was able to bite into it. But when I was able to bite in, the flavors of the meat came out and made for a juicy experience. Because there were slits cut into the hotdog, the inside was just as cooked as the outside which prevented the hot dog from being too soft inside. As for the bun, the bread was fresh and just a tad sweet which paired well with the sweet flavor of the meat. I would 100% get the Giant Hot Dog again. A hot dog in Manhattan is one of the more cliche food items to pick up from a visit to big city. But based on The View's take on a hot dog, I simply do not care. The meat quality made for a delicious lunch, the bun was fresh, I received my food rather quickly, and the price wasn't too bad. That being said, there are still many other choices in this area of New York that would give you more bang for your buck. But otherwise, not bad!

Yelp
I attended a legal conference/luncheon here. It was my first time here and had a little difficulty finding the location, but now I know for the future where to go. Excellent views here right near the Staten Island Ferry overlooking Lower Manhattan. They have two floors and our conference was on the second level. Very spacious and perfect venue for various events. The staff was friendly and our lunch was pretty good. I thought the Salmon was okay, but the mashed potatoes and broccoli were good. I look forward to returning for the next conference here.

Yelp
We had our company dinner this year at this location and it was great. Nice view on a May night with great service. The bartenders were awesome. Quick and very good at their mixes. It's always a plus when they remember your name after a couple. The appetizers were delicious. Oysters, lobster rolls, shrimp cocktail, sliders, avocado toast etc... Main entrees they provided us with the steak, pasta with red sauce, chicken all buffet style and it was great. Nice neat place with lots of room to boogie after during the night!

Yelp
Was invited to attend a wedding at this location. To be frank this place was good! Cocktail hour had a good spread. The food was good. Service was great and bartender was funny! I would say the person running the show for the wedding was a bit unorganized but I'm not sure if they are tied into this particular restaurant. As for the location. It's weird. FYI ! FOR ALL DRIVERS. YOUR GPS WILL DIRECT YOU BEHIND THE RESTAURANT! NO there's no parking there unless you're a worker or have a permit there. Only drop offs. The entrance is oddly inside the park so you'll have to find street parking or private. Overall, I had an amazing time food, booze, and company hit all my checklist! Only complaint is the weird entrance and the public bathrooms outside and inside was a bit weird cause we had a few tourist coming in and checking out our cocktail hour.

Yelp
Great spot for brunch. Views of the bay and Statue of Liberty. Inside and outside patio dining options. Tip: meals come with breakfast potatoes even though they are not listed. We ordered a side of potatoes because of this and we had 3 pound of potatoes! They did take it off the bill when I realized they were included.

Yelp
Great view from lower Manhattan. Many nice photo spots. Beautiful fireplace. Service was attentive. the elevator was broken for our company party.Buffet proteins zapped of moisture.

Yelp
I am on the board of a professional organization and we have had multiple events at The View at The Battery over the last several years. They're easy to work with and always go above and beyond to make sure your event is successful. Our members always have great things to say about the space.

Yelp
Great food! Lobster/papaya salad is fabulous. Friendly service with a casual vibe. Great outdoor seating.

Yelp
I attend the view talk shows I cared about experience very much. I met Sara Haines first time around last year during Christmas season

Yelp
It's on a nice location, on the water between South and Liberty ferries, with indoor and outdoor seatings. As we walked in at 1:04pm on a Sunday, the girl was on the phone with a potential party customer. She makes no acknowledgment and continues her slow conversation. Two women before us left. A hand signal to say 'I see you' could go a long way. I turn around and take a few photos. It's full six minutes before she said, "I'll call you back." Behind us there are two groups of people. The service is ok. One of the young kid looks very neverious and is more than eager to take my plate away when I still have eggs and bread in it and my friend has half plate of pasta (they didn't provide her with a spoon, so she uses her fork against the knife...). Food is ok 西红柿炒鸡蛋. Their glasses are nice.

Yelp
Mid afternoon on a Thursday I was sitting outside getting drinks with my girlfriend and my service dog. During our time there both my girlfriend and I had used the restroom inside a couple of times (taking turns, so as not to bring our service dog into the restaurant). After closing our tab, on our way out, i used the restroom one last time and i had brought my service dog with me this time. When leaving the restroom i was immediately met by a restaurant employee telling me dogs are not allowed in the restaurant and i need to leave. I informed her it was a service dog and i was on my way out anyways. She demanded to see certification for my service dog, to which i informed her it was illegal to ask that in the state of New York and that service animal certification papers don't even exist. She demanded I leave because dogs are not allowed in the restaurant. I have reported this business to the Attorney General of New York for violation of the ADA. I recommend the restaurant makes sure their employees understand the laws regarding service animals under the ADA. I have included a link below to help with this. https://ag.ny.gov/sites/default/files/publications/serviceanimals-english.play

Yelp
I always love a restaurant with a great view. I picked this place on a beautiful day to try. The food presentation was pretty but lacked flavor. The oysters were good, but those are hard to mess up. You don't have to do anything to them. And I ordered the fish tacos with a pineapple salsa. They were just ok. I am a big foodie and I wasn't impressed. The service wasn't great either. They took a while to check up on us at the outside bar. Price wise I would say expensive for what it was. Two other people in my group ordered a salad as the meal. It also lacked flavor and hardly had anything on it. It was also not filling. All three of us were still hungry when we left. I would maybe give them one more shot. The drinks I saw in passing looked good but I didn't try them.

Yelp
The staff are observing all appropriate COVID 19 safety precautions. Service is courteous and swift. The views of the water are what makes this spot great for relaxed evenings. We were not rushed with our meal, so we took our time. Friday night, multiple tables were available, so our reservation was not necessary. The food was nothing special. $15 mahi Tacos were forgettable. $20 view burger was underwhelming at best. Huge burger, with a lot of fixings, but the meat was so so dry. The patty was bland and tasteless. Such a disappointment. The fries were delicious though--crispy and well salted.

Yelp
I was the first to arrive in our group, so I sat by the bar and ordered a drink to wait. Bar staff were very nice and even offered me a glass of water with my cocktail. I had the Strawberry Bramble, which I quite liked. When we moved to a table, drinks took FOREVER to come. I understand a table of 5 cocktails might take some time, but it literally took so long that I was done with my drink by the time the rest of the group arrived (I had been only about 10 minutes early). We didn't end up ordering any food, since the drinks took so long. There was a wedding happening at the restaurant while we were there and it was kind of super awkward because at least 6-7 other tables were having drinks or dinner in the space right next to the ceremony.

Yelp
My family and I ate here after our visit to the Statue of Liberty and it was a nice little spot. Great view and the seating area was nice and breezy. The baby got french toast and it was delicious. The lobster rolls were great but much smaller than expected. The watermelon margarita was nice and refreshing. My brother in law got the lobster salad and raved about it...it was probably the prettiest of all the dishes. My other brother in law got the chicken blt and said it was mediocre. Service was alright but there is definitely room for improvement.

Yelp
Do NOT plan a summer event at The View. The air conditioning is woefully insufficient, and sitting through the event was torture. EMTs were called, and one person was hospitalized after passing out from the heat (indoors!). One half of the room has adequate air conditioning; the other half has virtually no ventilation. And, while cocktail hour food was fine, dinner food was virtually inedible. The fish might have been fine if cooked for 20 minutes less, but was hard and dry when served. Ended up eating rice for dinner. The space looks good, but it made for a miserable evening on a hot night.
google avatar

Ebony R.

Yelp
Didn't get many pictures of the food itself unfortunately but the restaurant was nice & our server was on it! I got the bacon/avocado burger & my partner gotten the lobster roll. The only complaint was that the lobster roll was kinda bland but everything else was perfectly cooked and the drinks were great
google avatar

Susan D.

Yelp
Five stars for the wonderful event that Masterpiece Caterers presented for us at THE VIEW at Battery Park. I only posted photos where there were no people, but I think you get the idea. The room is huge, filled with light, with a wrap around terrace with a million dollar view. The service was outstanding. Plenty of people to help. All staff friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. The drinks strong. Our party was a smaller luncheon rescheduled from a larger event that was canceled due to Covid. As we were leaving they transformed the space for a large reception, with the ceremony downstairs on the water. Absolutely gorgeous. If The View is not on your radar because it is new, check it out. Go for brunch.

Yelp
Went here for dinner toward the end of the summer, and had a great view as the sun set over the water. The food was good, but on the pricier side. Overall we had a nice time, but beware of bugs in the summertime- I got a bunch of mosquito bites throughout the course of the evening.
google avatar

Vicki E.

Yelp
Had dinner outside and it was lovely! Caesar salad with shrimp was delicious! Their Happy Hour from 4-6 made a delicious mojitos taste even better on a hot day.

Yelp
Awesome food, view and service ! Erick was an awesome waitress and so polite ! I will come back , plus so clean ! Thanks

Yelp
Wow! What a terrific surprise. Great view... Governor's Island, Staten Island, and Liberty Island. Super staff... they're like instant friends. Want a little extra spice for that pizza (aka flatbread)? Just ask. Want your hamburger with extra onions and no tomatoes. POW! There it is. We ordered appetizers only. Oysters, flatbread, fish tacos... it was all good... and enough! We missed the brunch menu by 1/2 hour... and still were more than happy. Try to make the weekend brunch... You'll have all this greatness for cheaper!

Christina H.

Yelp
Watermelon salad and Crab cakes were excellent. Quantity on the plate was reasonable. Price was equally reasonable. Highly recommend. Also can sit outside and have a view . Service was quick and attentive
google avatar

Yelp
Very good! We stopped here after touring Ellis Island & the Statue of Liberty, and we had a very enjoyable lunch while watching all the activity on the harbor. The food was quite good & the staff was very attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
google avatar

Candia M.

Yelp
Just stopped in for a quick drink and a warm up on a Friday afternoon. We were welcomed and seated at the window with. A view of the Statue of Liberty and watched the sunset over hot cocoa and wine while the attentive staff merrily decorated the giant Christmas tree. Loved it. Would love to have dinner here.

Matthew K.

Yelp
This place ruins its prime location and views with tonedeaf music (read: loud dance club music that requires shouting over, even outside) and snotty service. Nearly impossible to escape the straight-on projection of the speakers on the upper patio. There is also a lower "VIP" patio. As it was explained to us, the lower patio requires advance reservations, and they refused to seat us as walk-in although half of t he lower patio tables were empty on a Tuesday evening. Like 50 people (with advance reservations!) were about to arrive any minute. PASS!
google avatar

Marjorie F.

Yelp
Literally a lovely view! Beautifully presented fresh food. Both the fish and chips and the grilled shrimp Caesar salad were superb. Will definitely go back.

Mirza M B.

Yelp
I have been to this restaurant many times but every time lately I am more disappointed of it. The location is nice and the food ok. However, the service is poor. About a month ago, we sat at the bar for about 30 minutes and nobody would ask us what we wanted. The bar staff walked back and forth but didn't bother to take our order until we stopped someone. One bartender spent all his time fixing the pens and papers by the register. He had a terrible attitude. We were in the area this weekend and stopped by for brunch. we waited for a table for about 15 minutes even though there were a few empty tables waiting to be cleaned. We ordered sparkling water- it was hot and we were very thirsty- about 15 minutes later a wet bottle of room temperature Perrier showed up. we ordered coffee- had to ask for sugar and spoons to 3 waiters. the sugar bowl had lost of other bad sugars but not a single packet of regular sugar. Finally, the sugar came but the spoons never came - we had to use our knives! it seems that the managevent has no clue how to run a restaurant, doesn't care or doesn't know what's happening here. Some of the waitstaff is very young and inexperienced - none of the 3 waiters remembered or though about bringing the spoons, even though I asked twice. Nice place with terrible service!
google avatar

Yelp
The food at this restaurant is moderate. Some creative elements, but not overly flavorful. View and location are fine if you are in that part of Manhattan or waiting for the ferry, I guess. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here...

Jose Manuel O.

Yelp
This was an awesome experience! I recommend this restaurant 110%. The service and staff, specifically John our bartender, were friendly, and very welcoming!! The food and the view were amazing! I will definitely go back!

Azorena A.

Yelp
Loved the 90 day aged nice and juicy rib eye steak. Unexpectedly great. Wide selection of beers and and full body Chardonnay to go with my dinner.Service is a 10 and the view is simply gorgeous...
google avatar

Dan C.

Yelp
The service was spot on amazing!!! My food was great and I really enjoyed being able to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather. I had the steak and eggs and was very good but the steak was a little dry but still good. This is definitely a place to enjoy a meal right off the water. The view is amazing!!!!
google avatar

Rob G.

Yelp
Wow... What a view! Would have been nice to have tried the food the drinks etc... But after waiting over 20 minutes and seeing multiple others get their Drinks we left! Guess we will never know!

Jack K.

Yelp
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! This tourist trap is not worth the inflated prices. The food is subpar at best. And the staff?? Wow. Arrogant. Patronizing. Delusional. Couldn't have been less friendly. They think that the view is enough of a selling point. Grab a hot dog from a street vendor and sit on a bench. You'll thank me later
google avatar

Rachel R.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I came here for dinner at sunset. The tables were spaced out nicely and the view was incredible. We had a few of them me cocktails which were delicious, but we were pleasantly surprised by the food. We ordered the steamers and squid ink pasta and everything was so delicious and portioned perfectly. I almost didn't want to write this review because I want to keep this place a secret, but it was too good not to share! Definitely check this out for your next date night!

Yelp
We decided to give The View (formerly known as Battery Gardens) a go for brunch today. Highly recommend! Seating is all appropriately socially distanced and you can choose from in the shade under the tent or an umbrella or in the sun. The menu is more affordable than the prior incarnation, and The View Burger and Shrimp Caesar were delicious. The Adult Juice Boxes (think Capri sun pouch but with an adult beverage inside) are the most fun thing we've come across this summer. You can take an Uber right to the restaurant (even if the driver thinks you can't).
google avatar

Christopher T.

Yelp
Wow, The View at The Battery was cool. The entire place has a great vibe. Everything here has fantastic flavor and taste. The crew was very welcoming and service is terrific. If I am ever in the area again I will really like to come back to The View at The Battery.

Yelp
So i came to the city for my sons birthday today 7/9/22. He wanted to eat and see the Statue of Liberty but needed to use the restroom my wife found a bathroom behind THE VIEW and i proceed to wait for them outside the car next to the bathroom looking up the menu. Apparently it was a staff parking spot didn't notice as i was just waiting around but still. Maybe 30mins went by (6yr old had to poop)and out comes ALEC NICAJ and his brother who did not want to be named but is pictured with the sunglasses go from the restaurant to his car, notices my car and put a "warning"sticker on my vehicle when i ask him what does it mean he proceeds to go off on me throwing insults left and right my favorite was "are you fucking stupid can't you read?" and "do not speak when I'm speaking!" When i inform him that i am waiting on my wife and kid to get out the bathroom he starts to chest bump me and proceeds to yell in my face to get out of his fucking parking lot. I told him not a problem I'll leave when my family is back. ALEC NICAJ then informs me he is the GM for THE VIEW and that i better leave now or else, again i told him I'm waiting for my wife and son. He said and i quote "i don't fucking care you get the fuck out of here and wait somewhere else". I did not. He threatens to cover my car in stickers and has his brother run inside and get more. He then proceeded to stick more "warning"stickers all over my vehicle leaving reside on both passenger side windows still screaming out insults and other racist remarks. Once my wife and son came back he told me my business is not welcome or needed at THE VIEW infront of my wife and son. A couple was walking by and heard the commotion apparently they were gonna eat there too until the whole situation. When i called him a racist that's when his brother wanted to finally step in just to make it clear he's not a racist he has a black girlfriend. (If your are reading this run girl, and as your bothers keeper it's a shame you let him act like that not only in public but a place you work at) then called the cops and told them i was being threatening over the whole situation ALEC's brother then informed me they know the owner very well and nothing will come from this. I'm leaving this here because originally before my son even went to the bathroom we were going to eat at this establishment sorry that you have people like this working there. Some people shouldn't be in any position of power especially when they can't control their temper and have no social etiquette. A simple explanation instead of hurling insults and threats over something that really wasn't a big deal goes along way. Not even with me but people in general i also recorded the incident and will post everywhere i hope this raises awareness please share and I do hope some change does come out of this

Yelp
This is a nice casual restaurant with a nice view of the Statue of Liberty. The food was food but the restaurant is difficult to find because the address take you to an office building. It is actually located IN Battery Park.

Rick M.

Yelp
They need to open when they say they are going to open. Went on Thursday and the place was closed.

Alana M.

Yelp
Overall a wonderful experience! The staff was very attentive and kind just a few very minor, what I'm sure were first-day hiccups. Unsurprisingly, the view was amazing! Some umbrellas would be nice for some shade but hey, can't complain about a sunny day! The french toast was delicious and filling but wish the menu had stipulated there were raisins in it. My drink, the pom in the park, was delicious as well. Price was particularly good for a Manhattan brunch! Will be coming back for sure.

Clarence S.

Yelp
Very poor and discriminatory management practices. Manager Alex would not follow up on a promised reservation for my client, whose family was honoring their deceased father this past Memorial Day. He was very difficult to contact and always had an excuse as to why he delayed returning calls. Of course, he could not say "you people are not welcomed here" but his message was very clear. What took my client 3 days to never get done at this restaurant was accomplished within an hour at Miramar Mediterranean Seafood restaurant ($1,700 tab and $500 tip) I guess maintaining his preferred clientele is worth more than money.

Yelp
It's actually a 4.5, but giving a 4 for now (until I return). The drinks here are *amazing*. I had the fish tacos and calamari, but those aren't reasons to return. I tried four of their drinks (the watermelon margarita, rum punch, cucumber mule, and another basil one I don't remember the name to) and they all were awesome. The views are also great. 100% recommend as a place to have drinks at.

Yelp
Yummy food, beautiful views, welcoming friendly staff!! Hadn't been down there in years and it was great to be back.

Yelp
Great food! They accommodate changes for dietary needs. Very friendly staff, nice surroundings. Convenient after visiting Statue of Liberty and Ellis island.

Yelp
What a downtown gem. My wife and I went for dinner on a Friday night. One of our first dinners out in the city since the pandemic started. After seeing other restaurants stack tables on top of each other, it was such a relief to see The View space tables beyond the required distance (in addition to all the PPE and hand sanitizer). It made us feel so comfortable. Beyond the COVID-compliance, the views, restaurant, food, drinks, and service were spectacular. Staff made our dinner feel so special, even if it was just a regular old dinner. They were incredibly attentive and welcoming. I was very impressed with how well coordinated they were with one another. Meanwhile the atmosphere was so calm and elegant - a steal especially when you consider the very reasonably priced menu. Also...adult drink pouches!

Yelp
My husband wanted to surprise me for my birthday by taking me here for brunch on Saturday March 11th 2023. He made the reservation at OpenTable at least one week prior and he called the restaurant on Friday March 10th around noon to confirm the reservation and the woman said the reservation went through in their system and we could come. However, when we got there on March 11th, there were a bunch of people in the waiting room who said there was a private event taking place. When we asked the manager about it, he said he failed to let OpenTable and other third party vendors know about the event. He also apparently failed to tell the girl who answered the phone the day before because she had said it was okay to come. I was extremely disappointed because it seemed like a nice birthday surprise. This is a huge customer service and communication failure on the restaurant's part. Hopefully they can make it up to us somehow, then maybe I'll give them a better review.

Bryan J.

Yelp
The service was okay but the food was good. It took a while for someone to bring us water and then take our order. Food was great. Then waited again for the check. Overall, good but a 1-and-done.

Rhianna W.

Yelp
Great views and yummy food and cocktail options. This is a downtown gem.
