Where to Find Fresh-Fried Apple Cider Doughnuts in Oregon

"This Gervais farm hosts one of the state’s busiest harvest festivals every year, with a corn maze, hard cider tasting, petting zoo, and an apple cannon. Bauman’s sells fresh-fried doughnuts at multiple locations throughout the festival, though those who don’t want to pay the entrance fee will also be able to find them in Bauman’s market." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

This is one of my favorite. Go to places whenever I need to just unwind. I love how they have a large shop where you can purchase all kinds of plants or if you’re interested in different kinds of snacks or different kinds of flavors you will absolutely find it here. Lots of very unique items that you will not find anywhere else. I am a huge fan of how they have everything Locally sourced here at this place. The animals are a very huge plus for me, because they help me get in touch with nature and feel like I am connecting. It is always an absolute delight to come here because I know that I will have a good time and that I will leave a lot happier. If you get a chance, definitely have lunch here as they’re sandwiches are excellent, and they additionally have a cider tasting area where you can Also, either get a small flight or purchase a drink. Don’t forget to also check out their bakery area. They have great desserts. This place really has it all. If you are around the area during October, they have a really big pumpkin patch, and other activities to do during that month. Make sure to add this stop to your list if you are ever in Woodburn.

Google
Charming store (with delicious pie) and nursery. Lots of fun and interesting play areas for kids. A bunch of different animals that can be pet. Seemed like you need to bring quarters for the vending machine if you want to feed the animals.

Google
Bauman's is the best. I always come here from PDX for hanging plants/flowers. And potted arrangements. Wow. The variety is excellent for sun or shade. There is so much here. Inside. Outside. Gardens. Bakery. Wine.... Additionally. The staff are great! Check out the website. Steve

Google
I absolutely LOVED this place and everyone should check out the Bauman Farms Market (That’s get a 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️). The market has so much to offer and the decorations to purchase were for any season. They have a bakery, a bar, a deli and everything I sampled was Amazing!! The plant & garden center was also wonderful The reason why I gave it ⭐️⭐️⭐️ star was because you have to pay $30 a person to go inside for all the ACTIVITES. We did not want to do any of the activities as we are all older and don’t have any kids. We just wanted to walk around and take some pictures. They wouldn’t even allow us to do that or use the inside bathroom and sent my elderly parent to porta potty. We had to beg and beg just to be able to take a picture at there backdrop sign and they watched us like a hawk to make sure we came back out. I would love to try this place again during Christmas.

Google
Wow if you are looking for a pumpkin patch that has it all this is the place for you. They literally have so much you could spend the entire day here. Good for all ages too. Even adults can do pretty everything. There are lots of lines. Wish they had more food options that you didn't have to wait so long for food. I kinda had a melt down cause I waited too long. You have to get a apple cidar slushy

Google
Such a Beautiful farm, Beautiful flowers and the fresh baked Rhubarb and strawberry pie. Barbara showed us around and was so nice!

I bring my children here often to shop in the store, play at the playground, and feed the animals. We also love coming during special events like the Harvest festival. Their greenhouse selection amd decorations are amazing, and I love their cafe. I will always spend my dollars here.

Google
Very nice farm and garden for family visits. It's free most of the year but there is a cost to get in during September and October. The shop is really nice and there is a place to feed animals, just remember to bring quarters. The shop was decorated for Christmas when we went. It has food, gifts, clothes and plants. I plan to go back again.

Yelp
This place is pretty epic - lots of fun even if you don't have young children. We arrived just in time for the huge pumpkin drop - 1947 pounds! The pumpkin drop and shooting the apple cannon were my favorites but we also did the corn maze, the dark maze, the jumpy mat, the cider making exhibit and had some great cider slushies!

Yelp
Bauman's is a farm with it's activities that features a plant nursery, a pumpkin patch and other appealing fun farm activities for families to go to. But not only that. They also make their own cider! And that is what my main focus is. Steve and I recently tried their Fresh Hopped Strata cider. A very refreshing cider that of course has apple flavor that's very refreshing but also has hoppy and grassy flavor features as well. I do enjoy hopped ciders as I feel they have something just a bit different to offer than typical cider and my experience with Bauman's continues the stretch of offering something a bit different (but enjoyable) when it comes to their fresh hopped cider.

Yelp
Okay, so I can't tell you much about the garden of Bauman's farm and garden but I can tell you about the farm . THEY HAVE THE CUTEST GOATS OF ALL TIME. I FELL IN LOVE. They climbed up on the metal railway thing, and it was so cute !! I brought my nephew, but i swear i had so much fun. They had a few roosters and chickens roaming around. They had a couple sheep, bunnies , geese, and lambs. It was a very unique experience !

Yelp
Bauman's Farm was nothing short of EPIC. We to SO lucky because we got cool weather AND sunshine for our day there. It blew my mind how absolutely HUGE the property was. Our friends had suggested taking the kids there for fun and pumpkins, so having never been, we said why not?! We got the wrist bands for the kids so they could do any activity they wanted. They jumped, slid, did the fun house maze that was dark, the corn maze, and much more. My friend got the apple cider donuts, and while we waited in line we checked out the cool donut making process right in front of our eyes. It was really neat!! We didn't have a need to interact with staff at all aside from paying for entry, and grabbing food and treats (the kids shared cotton candy!) But the staff were all pleasant and seemed to be enjoying their days. I loved the hayride, corn maze and pumpkin patch. Our friends were smart and told us we should get there early, and thankfully we did! It was packed first thing and when we left, it was SUPER busy! We had an absolute blast at Bauman Farms for the day!

Yelp
Bauman's is so great! Not only is the property so pretty, but their goods are amazing! I went recently for the opening of their holiday season and was blown away at everything they had to offer. Christmas decorations, canned goods, amazing cider, and let's not forget the baked goods! My sister is obsessed with their pie, and for good reason. If you're going to stop by, definitely try their cranberry cider, and if you're looking for a sober drink, their sparkling nonalcoholic cider is better than martinelli's. Bauman's has so much to offer year round, but I definitely recommend checking out their holiday stuff while it's still the season!

Yelp
I have a 4 year old autistic son, who needs extra help with some of the activities. (He is non verbal, and wouldn't be able to ask for help if he got lost in an obstacle course or kids maze.) I was told I had to buy an additional $30 full access bracelet if I needed to help my special needs child through the activities. I asked if they offered anything/discounted rates for caregivers assisting children with disabilities, and they told me they do not. Last year they allowed parents to go down the big white slides with small children/toddlers. This year they informed me it was only allowed 1 at a time down the big/wide slides, even after I explained my child had a disability and needed extra help/support. This is normally our favorite pumpkin patch, but I was extremely disappointed this year, and their lack of inclusivity for children with disabilities. (Pics from last year when parents were allowed to go down the big slides with small children)

Yelp
I love this place! The quality of their plants and flowers is great. The produce is beautiful and the cider is wonderful. I can spend hours here and the grandkids love the playground and petting zoo. I highly recommend it!

Yelp
We have been coming here for 5 years now so here is my updated review. They have grown and organized much better. The tickets are however are so expensive and it makes about zero sense to me why I have to pay 15 dollars to stand around and watch my kids go down a slide when I'm paying 15-30 ( ticket option a is 15, option b is 30) for my kid to play. It would be great if they have an adult only ticket for people paying for children who do not need to be accompanied on activities. I wouldn't have an issue spending 30 dollars per kid if I didn't also have to spend 15 just to walk around and not do anything. You don't need a ticket just to enter the pumpkin patch or store; but to enter the activity area you need one but other than to get food or see animals there is nothing for an adult to need to do for 15 bucks. No pumpkin is included in your ticket which I think is the stupidest thing, 30 bucks but you can't toss in a pumpkin? On the positive side there is far more staff, most are useless and miserable, some are friendly some are absolutely not. You won't see an employee over 18 in the festival it's all young kids with air pods in or otherwise ignoring you. They shut down the bathroom to force you into the porta potties which is a huge bummer and down fall. For such a large scale property real bathrooms would be ideal. Best market you'll go to though, can't beat the treats and fun items to try. Was sad they chose not to make sugar free cookies while we were there so we couldn't get what we came for or what was advertised online. It's the best property and pumpkin patch or harvest fest around but those are the little things I'd love to see change. Happy to continue making it out every year but it's a spendy trip.

Yelp
We discovered Bauman's on a trip to Oregon from Washington last year and decided to make it a yearly tradition to visit. The staff are so kind and helpful. Make sure to try their apple cider donuts and visit the goats- .

Yelp
They were very rude in the way they loud talked and shamed my mother because she thought she could use EBT! I had no problem just paying with cash but after the way the woman the check-out spoke AT my mother, we put everything back and walked out. We will never go back.

Yelp
Wow! Outstanding! This family run market and garden store is everything! Wish Bauman's was closer to Portland So I could shop here frequently. The variety and quality of their produce, bakery, hard cider and nursery plants is just fantastic. Let's start with the nursery. It's massive. The greenhouses are filled with stunning hanging baskets with enough room to walk around easily so you can see, inspect and make your selections. There are shade and sun greenhouses that contain all the different varieties of annuals so you can make your own planters and add beautiful pops of color to your deck, yard or patio. So many perrenials as well, all healthy and in great condition. Lots of plants for indoors as well. With all the time we have had to spend within our home, having live plants brings nature, and it's calming effect, inside. Batman's has lots of green plants plus the increasingly popular succulents and air plants, all at fair prices. And of course there are plenty of indoor and outdoor planters in all colors, shapes and sizes; garden accessories; and yard art to add a touch of whimsy which is always a good idea! While outside, visit the barn to see, pet and feed the most adorable and very frisky goats! Seriously, so much fun even for adults. There is a sheep, llama and lots of colorful chickens wandering around. Plus a playground for the kids with plenty of hand washing stations available. Now, to the market. Wow! So much more than I was expecting. So many different sections, each arranged thoughtfully showcasing quality food and gift items. For gifts, there was an entire display dedicated to kitchen and serving items with bright yellow lemons. Aprons, serving trays, platters, bottles, napkins, vases - all Beautiful. Jewelry, cards, kitchen gadgets, glassware, pitchers, vase, hats - the gift area was quite impressive. Bauman's makes many of the products sold in the food area or they are manufactured using the fruit from their farm. They have an inside bakery and the items they turn out are stellar. I bought an apple cider doughnut and when I got to my car I ate it and immediately wished I had bought the bag of 6! Best ever. They bake different types of bread - pumpkin, banana, zucchini, sandwich bread - and lots of cookies, scones, bars, pies and cakes. Get the Bliss bar! A shortbread crust covered with marionberries topped with shortbread crumble, drizzled with white chocolate. Yep, that's why it's called Bliss! There are jams, syrups, honey, bbq sauces. A small but excellent variety of high quality produce and fruit. Plus Willamette Valley Cheeses, beef, pork, lamb, chicken, fresh eggs and milk in the refrigerator area. Along the back wall is a counter where you can buy freshly made sandwiches and snacks; a separate full coffee bar; an ice cream counter; and an area that serves their fresh hard and sparkling cider. I was so impressed. Everyone was friendly and helpful as I was asking lots of questions! I feel like I discovered a gem but it turns out the gem was already discovered; I'm just late to the party! Evidently in the Fall they have hayrides and autumn festivities including a pumpkin farm. At Christmas you can take a ride on the tractor to pick out your own tree plus they supply all the greens and other items needed to make your holidays beautiful and tasty! Will definitely be back! I'm out this way a lot visiting wine country, the flower gardens, orchards and antiquing. Whenever I'm out in Woodburn, Salem, the wine country or driving back from basically anywhere from I-5 south heading towards Portland, I will intentionally get off the freeway and make a stop here. It's worth it!

Yelp
Had a lovely time. Took my boyfriend there to his first ever pumpkin patch. Lots of good pumpkins in the patch to choose from. (1/3 pumpkins I got, oddly started growing mold within 2 days of bringing them home which has never happened to me before, but I think it was just a fluke.) Festivities were great, pitch dark maze was freaky, food was good, enjoyed the apple tastings, lots of plants available to purchase, and good cider. The only disappointing attraction was the apple launcher. Very kinda and helpful staff throughout the land. My favorite part was the rock quarry.

Yelp
Okay.... A must see if you are visiting the area. Huge place. The hard cider is great. The gardens breath taking but the pies are incredible. Jim is the ultimate tester and reviewers of CHERRY pie. He rated this A+! You have to understand one thing.... We travel far and wide for cherry pie! Don't miss it!

Yelp
There are some things that people can't seem to live without. Some people like their "coffee" made where there be windmills. Other people like doughnuts made by a shaman. I myself enjoy my popcorn crossed with fungi. I am of course speaking of Bauman's soon to be famous Mushroom Popcorn. This comes in a quart milk jug and is the best, lightest and has the biggest kernels I have ever seen. We usually pop a bowl and the dogs end up eating a good portion. My family used to take a trip to Bauman's at least 2 times a month and that isn't including the fall festival and other events. Unfortunately this bloody pandemic has reduced our visits. Now recently discovered that our Mushroom Popcorn supply was severely depleted. We were desperate so we got a HUGE thing of that popcorn made by that old dude with the red bow tie. We couldn't have been more dissatisfied. There is nothing to compare with the quality of Bauman's popcorn. The next time we visit I will be sure that we stock up so we won't have to go without when we are watching television.

Yelp
I was in the area and thought it'd be fun to check out Bauman Cider's tasting room and grab a bite. I didn't realize how big the complex was until I pulled in. There were so many things to explore from fun plants to baked goods to produce, oh my! Sam, the bartender, was super knowledgeable and helped me put together a tasty flight of ciders. I also grabbed a turkey avocado sandwich which was pretty good. I felt like the bacon aioli wasn't that flavorful but as a whole super solid. It was all super affordable as well. I could totally imagine a day of adventures here some time.

Yelp
Really great place! We melted in the heat, but it was fun for the family. Veggies look amazing-can't wait to cook them. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
This is where we go to kick off fall, we love to go- myself and my husband- and stock up on goodies, decor and pumpkins, of course! We're fortunate that it's not far from home and we love to stop by on sunny day for a fresh sandwich, treats from the bakery and a couple of their delicious ciders!

Yelp
We found this nursery years ago when they had a harvest/fall festival..loved it, then could'n't remember the name of the place! Then, after a move further south of Portland, a neighbor recommended & we drove here....LO & behold, here was the nursery I loved! Great people, prices, plants & treats! We'll be back many times.

Yelp
Came here with two of my niece's my Wife and my Little Sister. I cannot stress enough to "Arrive Early ." This is a very popular Pumpkin Farm well known for their Kids Activities. $20.00 a child sounds like a lot but it is worth it. They have a lot of activities for littles. Trust me. They will be tired when you leave. We played for over 4 hours and still didn't do everything. I had a great time watching my niece's laugh and play. They had some of the Bounce Pillows that were a little rough for our littles but they did have another one that was flat and our kids loved it.... well, they loved everything..... well not everything. 1 of the slides was a bit tall and really sketchy at the top. (Easy Law Suit for fall victim. Not joking.) There are a couple other slides. 1 is loads better for littles. Ours loved it. Not all activities are under cover. The slides are outside of any cover. My Sister said last year, you slid into a mud puddle. We picked the perfect weekend to arrive. A chill in the air and dry conditions. The Hay Ride isn't that thrilling but it was still cool. The Farm Animals were awesome. They had a Llama, Goats, Cows and Chickens. The Chickens have a crazy walkway Bridge they can use to get in the barn. I thought it was cool. I love Chickens. My Wife caught me staring at the Chickens and said, If we had chickens, you would just sit there and stare at them all day, wouldn't you? I said, yes. Went to the store for some fresh vegetables. Corn, 4 for a $1.00 bought 8. Ripe Jalapenos $1.48 a pound. Bought 7 nice red ones. (We ate 1 with our lunch the next day. My Wife, The Sriracha Queen, ate a little slice and thought it was hot. I ate several slices. It was so hot. Immediate heat right to the sinuses. My Wife called me an Animal. Asked me if we needed to go to the hospital. I ate more Jalapenos. I choked. Coughed. Teared up. It was bad and really delicious. I can never go back to Green Unripe Jalapenos again.) Also got a couple Limes $.50 each. We saved money by bringing our own lunch. My Sister's friends showed up and hung out for a while. Their daughter was a great help. They bought some of the Cider Doughnuts they sell at the farm. Delish. We'll splurge on them next year. Worth it! But we didn't waste money on Carnival food. Our friends daughter was a little upset about that. but she ate a sandwich and an apple like everyone else. She's young. Of course she wants junk food. We're old. We don't want to pay for it. They have Free Apple Tasting. I think it was about 12 different varieties and an Asian Pear. I've had Asian Pear and love it. I was stoked that I had only had about 4 of the Apple Samples before. My wife and I tried them all. I went back for seconds and a couple thirds. We didn't get a Pumpkin but we still had a great time.

Yelp
This is not at all wheelchair friendly! Even from the handicapped parking lot it's almost impossible to push a wheelchair. We barely got to the Market. And this is where I'm staying until the rest are ready to leave. it's too hot or else I would have stayed in the car.

Yelp
Went for the pumpkins, came home with no pumpkins because I could not pull the children away from all the fun things to do! And that's just fine because they had a blast and slept really well that night. I have been desperately trying to find a really fun way to go get pumpkins annually since I moved down to Oregon six years ago to no avail. We found something okay and local to us, it closed, and sadness prevailed. So we decided to go a little north this year and huzzah!! The only downside is it was a bit of sticker shock for price. 30$ a ticket for sort of unlimited access to all the fun things like slides and the cow train and mazes obstacle courses and apple air cannon and critters to pet and whatnot. But I'm telling you, that's a LOT of things. There's also yummy food, lots of wares to look at and buy, cider demonstration and apple tasting and I'm sure a lot I missed because after four hours of the kids doing whatever they wanted, they had not run out of things to do. I assume the pumpkins are great, I honestly have no idea. Save up and go, you won't be sad. Parking is massive, the faces on the hay are both creepy and hilarious, and there is enough space that even crowded on a Saturday, it doesn't feel overcrowded.

Donna A.

Yelp
Love this place, has a lot of variety in items from plants to bakery/pastries (found something without a lot of sugar), fresh fruits & veggies, kitchen items and yummy different selection salad dressing that you don't find in grocery stores (I felt dressing was great). Also their hard cider Loganberry which is same price as grocery stores. Some item can be a little higher but I felt still within in reason.

Yelp
Let's talk about produce and possibly donuts. Noticing that most reviews talk about the events side of their business and I don't have a clue but it certainly generates lots of customers. Our family has been buying their excellent fruit and vegetables for two generations and we are all a bunch of snots about quality and a bit cheap. This place has a huge inventory of fruit and veg all of very high quality and well priced. They grow a lot of it on their nearby farms and buy from other local farmers so it's very fresh. And while I do love and support neighborhood farmers market the bauman's stock can be fresher- we regularly travel between our home in Portland and our family farm in silverton so Bauman's is a regular stop to fill in what we don't grow. Currently loving a half flat of peach seconds for five bucks. My partner and I hung out with our grandparents when they were market farmers and slightly less than perfect produce was the only thing that went to the house- cosmetically perfect product was always sold. So yes, good bargains to be had. And, yes the donuts are good and the staff is great, knowledgeable, helpful and just plain country nice. Great place if you are interested in canning- huge bags of pickling cucumbers and buckets of fresh dill. So lots more than the annual pumpkin festival.

Yelp
Back in the day, this place used to be an oasis for families during the fall. My daughters loved coming to Bauman farms and seeing the animals swinging on the swings and having so much fun while my wife and I bought donuts and coffee and all the various fall treats. Now they are all about the money. It's $15-$30 to come to the pumpkin patch. As adults we are not riding rides. We are not doing anything other than buying your overprice stuff yet. We still have to pay in order to get in to watch her children do stuff. It's over $150 just to walk in the door and it's so ridiculous. There is strange music blaring all over. You can't even hear yourself think and it is just gotten out of control.

Yelp
The place is amazing ! I took our out of town visitors we all had a fun and delicious experience plus the nursery is beautifully stocked. They have fun classes too

Yelp
I love this place so much, i bet it would get a 5 star year around!! This review is for their pumpkin patch extravaganza they have toward halloween time. Its huge!! Worth the hour drive from portland. Food: solid options, great sweets, great drinks, oh get anything with apples!! Apple doughnuts, apple slushie with or without ice cream, or anything really. Rids: top notch, kids 2 and under free, adults are free usually when you are 'following your little one' onto a ride he wants. Adults pay gate fee of 5/6$ my oldest wrist band was 18$ and we got a good 5 hours out of it, could have stayed longer too!! I mean these rides are sweet, apple cannon os a huge hit, bounce pillow, and that dark maze is so damn fun even for adults!! Seriously check the map in the photos!! Employees: amazing, super nice, and always have a great attitiude. This is a NO BRAINER!!

Yelp
Woohoo! I've finally gone to a harvest festival! And I dare say I picked the right one. We showed up at 8am on a chilly, grey October morning to start the day with one of their pancake breakfasts for a mere $8/person. For this small fee, you get as many pancakes as you want, a huge link of sausage or ham, some eggs, unlimited cider doughnuts, and unlimited cider and coffee. It was just about the best deal on a meal I've ever gotten. The pancakes came with their homemade fruit topping, which was delicious. The next time they do this breakfast, I'll be back!! The space is fantastic. There's a huge pumpkin patch, chicken coop, playground...it really is fun for the whole family (and I'm not big on kids). The apple cider slushees are so good, and if I hadn't been so stuffed full of pancakes I would've gotten a corn dog. That cafeteria barn is enormous. Next to the farming area is the nursery, where there's a decent selection of plants and yard decor to buy, but the real magic is inside the store. I bought honeycrisp apples for $1/pound! I really stocked up considering the deal. We also bought regular apple cider, and filled a 64oz growler with some hard cider ($15 if you bring your own), and some jam. They're baked goods looked decent, but if you're going to indulge, get those doughnuts. Staff was friendly and helpful. I just wish Gervais were a wee bit closer to Portland!

Yelp
Visited baumans pumpkin patch like we always do every year, and this year we went into the dark maze. While going through The dark maze I had my 11-year-old daughter behind me holding onto my shoulders. We came around the curve right as some boys had busted a bunch of pieces of the support beams. They had also bent one of the panels over. As they came around the curve they let it go and it swung back towards me hitting me in the arm. It hurt extremely bad and with it being dark inside I had no idea how bad my arm was actually hurt. I knew that if I let the panel go it would hurt someone else so I held onto it and told my daughter to go and get help. The 17 year old ISH boy that came to help said he had no idea how to get a hold of anybody and there was no emergency light system in the dark maze. Also the owner never shuts down attractions and says to keep it open at all times. I asked my oldest to go and ask the front lady to stop letting people in because it was dangerous. They didn't listen they kept letting people in. I eventually went to the front as the boy held onto the panel and got the lady to stop letting people in. Ran into the owner who said he had already fixed the panel and I told him there was no way because I was just there two minutes ago. I took him to the panel and he proceeded to put some screws in it. I asked the owner if there was an emergency light system in case something like this happened where people could see and not get hurt and he said yes. I told him that his employees did not know there was one and did not know how to use it and so maybe he needed to retrain his employees. He laughed at me. I told him that this is not funny and that had this hit my 11-year-old daughter we would be calling an ambulance right now because those panels are so heavy. Again he laughed at me. I told him that this is not funny and that there are babies that go in there which he replied did you not see my sign that says not suitable for small children. I said when I say babies I mean 18 and under. Again he laughs at me. He did not ask if I was OK he did not ask if I needed medical he did not seem concerned that many people could've got very hurt. I'm very disappointed in this owner named Rick. My arm was very hurt and swelled a lot the next day.

Yelp
This place ticks off all the boxes, fantastic variety of options, great fresh local organic produce, awesome doughnuts, fantastic jarred items, I would have given it 5 stars the only downfall was at checkout there is outside checkout and inside checkout. The outside (under a tented area) people were being respectful of the 6 feet apart, but inside OMG there were people on my backside. That really frustrated me, the inside checkout stand was packed. So that I think needs to be tightened up for Covid procedures. Everything else is Good, just that was a little bit stressful. We ended up changing lines and waited outside instead. Other than that, a great place to go for all the goodies!

Yelp
Bauman's Farm and Garden was INCREDIBLE!! What is there NOT to love about this spot? This place has everything! You could spend hours looking through the gift shop, bakery, garden, etc. Bauman's is a spot that brings the community together. They have an active calendar of community events. Be sure to check out their incredible coffee bar and house-made cider. The coffee was some of the best we had on our Oregon visit. The cider area is right next to the coffee bar in the back. You can enjoy a glass of cider or a flight. They have a unique list of flavors. I highly suggest a flight that enables you a chance to sample a selection. They have some staple flavors, but also several small batches. I was able to purchase my favorites by the bottle to take home.

Yelp
Tip: get the unlimited wrist bands they're so worth it! This place was truly wonderful and the best place to celebrate harvest. We went the second week of October to get him hyped for Halloween. And it was plenty busy on a Wednesday. Most of the food is closed so definitely bring your own. And there's hard cider for the adults too! (The little bar is in the red barn!)

Yelp
I love this place! I came here a lot when I was a kid and only have great memories. Just visited again yesterday and it's still wonderful.

Yelp
We've been to several farms around the Salem area but this was our first trip to Bauman's and we all found something to love!! They have an elaborate and very fun petting zoo area with hand washing station which leads out to a gem mining set-up for kids along with a fabulous tower with rock climbing on its outer walls and two seriously fun slides coming out of that tower! There are swings and a mountain of secured giant tires to climb, a cute little town of mini-slides and a pit full of hazelnuts to wade through and roll around in. I loved that there are benches and chairs scattered throughout the property in shady spots. It felt so peaceful enjoying the sunshine and the breeze while relaxing and eating delicious goodies from the market and bakery. Speaking of which, you must try the fresh baked pies, apple cider donuts, and pies (strawberry rhubarb or peach) or the salted caramel fudge! There is an enormous selection and variety of potted plants for sale, from flowers to succulents, they seem to have it all!

Yelp
The best place to spend a day with your family on an Autumn day! This is not a "Pumpkin Patch" but a mini amusement park built on top of an apple farm. You will find any sort of concoction that has apples and the super delicious donuts... You MUST HAVE DONUTS!

Yelp
Best turkey sandwich I've ever had, and an amazing amount of products to choose from, well worth the drive!

Yelp
Be prepared to be packed shoulder to shoulder with people not wearing masks, absolutely no COVID protocol (the kid handing out the food has his mask down, the cashier's was dangling from her ear and the rest of the employees just didn't have one at all. Disgusting bathrooms, no supervision of rides and literally pushed out by a tractor the second they close after paying $25 per person. I was waiting for my kid to get out of the bathroom when some guys came up a few feet behind me in a tractor and wouldn't stop driving while yelling at me "we're closed, get out!" I explained we were leaving but my child was in the bathroom, he just kept coming towards me in the tractor yelling "go to your car". These people obviously have no regard for the safety of their customers or the community, just peoples money.

Yelp
Lots of indoor and outdoor plants, great coffee, very yummy donuts. There's a lot to do year round here.

Yelp
The treats in the bakery are wonderful. The green houses beautiful! And the kids play areas awesome. Fun place to spend some time relaxing among the plants and to wear kids out.

Yelp
Absolute cluster four letter word to borrow a line from the movie Stripes! Stupid employees that don't manage massive lines of people properly, way too overcrowded with lines up to a hour, total rip off to pay 21 dollars to get in with ride band! Food is awful. Sit in traffic 20 minutes to park. Only saving grace was they have beer but it closed early!! Also very dirty with gravel everywhere and wind blowing dirt in my child's face!! NEVER AGAIN!

Yelp
Do not go on a weekend in October. It will be packed worse than Disney land. I heard that from passing couples as we tried to share the small paths. The crew there were not very helpful. When we asked one person a question they answered very vaguely and then directed there attention at another person. The workers seemed to be irritated that we asked questions or needed help at all. I probably won't go back after this experience. Other than that the bathrooms were clean and there was alot to do.

Yelp
Very fun to visit. Fresh donuts as well as a great store to choose from a plethora of food that is home grown. We visit during the Christmas season as well because they have a hay ride to pick out trees. Halloween is also anotHer popular time to go.

Yelp
My family love this place. My son is 4 and he keep asking to come back. We came twice in the same week. Make sure you come early and have the map in your hand to enjoy everything.

Yelp
I can't figure out why this place is rated the #1 pumpkin patch. Aside from the fact it has become a mini-Disneyland inside... The high school help was less than stellar. The pumpkin slide had 1 plastic saucer that was not broken, amongst a pile of broken ones, the swing staff was clearly not trained, competent, or even "healthy" enough to make the swings truly work and keep the line moving in a decent fashion. Their was no supervision that I could tell to the high school helpers who were "half baking" their shifts. When they charge everyone virtually $20 to walk in the door and then another $20 a person if you are going to think about eating something when you are there... you'd think that you could get a pumpkin without paying "by the pound". Save yourself some money and go to Al's Garden center on the way home and you can get a pumpkin for $1.99, no matter what the size!! I will readily admit the cider and doughnuts are out of this world amazing. However, I am pretty positive I can find something just as good somewhere else.

Yelp
What a great place to take the kids. I know I know other places have pumpkin patches and other places have corn mazes. This place is in a word prepared. You know how if you expect a lot of people and then a lot of people show up and everything still runs smoothly? Well this is that place. They must have had a parent help them in the planning. The spacing the different levels of play structures and activities. Guess what they even thought about the rain. There are indoor like activities that even when the sun is shining feels like it is outside. When its raining you are staying nice and dry and not stuffed indoors and being over crowded. A really well run farm with helpful staff and even some educational opportunities for the kids. You can watch apple cider be made right before your eyes. Of course its also ready for purchase but its so good who can resist and who wants to. They also offer a store with various hand crafts and of course a coffee bar with some what seem to be freshly made snacks. Enough to fill up on. Try to go during the week when it is of course less crowded. Beware not everything is open on the weed day. They are planners remember. So, when the big crowds are there all the stands are open.

Yelp
My first and only visit (so far) was September of 2017. The minute we pulled in to the parking lot, I could hardly contain myself. It was a cold, wet, windy day, but this did not squelch my joy by any means. Greeting us on the outside were Very Large bales of hay with Pumpkin faces, which were so cleverly painted; HUGE baskets of fall flowers hanging inside and out were absolutely stunning and this was just the beginning. We hadn't even entered the plant and retail areas plus the coffee shop. Once inside we headed straight for the homemade applesauce donut holes they are known for and the first bag of 6 went down so smoothly, we had to go back and get another bag. Oh did I mention, they were "warm" ! Once we had this nosh, we were ready for some "serious retails look-e looking. We spent the near hour (+) looking at all the beautiful gift's, holiday displays, kitchen wares, books & every gourmet foodie item you don't need but want so desperately. I can say, if I lived here and it was spring, I would fight the crowds and the parking lot for the shear joy of purchasing new babies to add to my garden. Yes, it can be busy and overcrowded and parking lot full, but don't let this deter you, it truly is worth the visit, all times of year.

Yelp
This place was probably great 10+ years ago, but it's now so busy, overcrowded, and unorganized that it's not worth going. From the time we pulled in, parked, waited in line to get inside, and waited to get food was over an hour. Everything has a huge line and the place has just gotten too big for itself. There are very few signs to guide you to anything you might be looking for, no information booth, and the employees mostly have no idea what planet they're on. We had sausages and fries for lunch and they were below average and pretty expensive. Sure the donuts are great, but it's difficult to screw up fried dough and sugar. Next year we'll try one of the smaller, less chaotic patches.

Yelp
Went for two hours to enjoy the live music and the apple cider donuts, we left to run some errands and ended the day with two more hours back at the farm for music, cider and apple tasting. Our toddler loved it all. I was happily surprised to discover they make their own hard cider and you can buy a glass at the main store.

Yelp
Let's start with the freakishly larger flower baskets on steroids. And they're everywhere, lining the drives in and out of the farm, in the abundant green houses, in the retail spaces. Don't go after 10/15 or after 9 AM on the weekends in October. It's a beautiful farm with lots of great activities for children, so it will be packed and you'll spend your time negotiating movement in a farm with funky parking and orange-vested teenagers who ineffectively wave cars on. No, don't do that. That would be a foolish waste of a weekend. Instead, go anytime after Halloween but before 10/15, and you'll find stunning grounds--the garden area to the north of the pristine farmhouse is worth the drive. Linger there; have something to eat. This is masterful gardening. Soak it in. Wander into the store for coffee, pies, yummy breads, donuts and jams. There's good produce here, too. Grab enough for the week ahead. Meander into the retail greenhouse--in the winter, this is a glorious warm space to feel like you're in July again. Plus, they offer a large variety of plants for sell. If you have time, and if the working greenhouses are open, journey through them--this is a serious, working farm that happens to be beautiful and open to the public. I admire the creative marketing of Bauman's Farm and Garden as a well-oiled machine that makes production look easy. You'd be remiss if you left without a pie or two--you can get them fresh or frozen--and they are delicious. Apple happens to be our favorite but the mixed berry is right up there, too.
