Baumhower’s Victory Grille - Tuscaloosa South

Popping into town for the night, this place was across the street from our hotel. Was not sure what to expect, but the pictures online looked good, and hotel staff said it was worth a shot. Walked in and sat right down, which was nice. Waitress was friendly and prompt. The homemade fried cheese was the bomb diggity. I would go back just for these. The burger was pretty good, I think, honestly... I forgot to ask for it to be cooked medium. (Assuming it was an option) so the buger came out well done, not my favorite and kinda bland. If I were to go back, i would get something else for sure. They have a tin of options that look really good ;)

Very delicious food! I dipped my grilled chicken in the AL white sauce, wing sauce and homemade ranch dressing. All 3 sauces were really good. The wing sauce was a little thin, but had a really good flavor. The mashed potatoes were great by themselves, although the mushroom gravy was a tasty compliment. I'd recommend this place to other travelers passing through.

First time coming here and was unsure what to expect. Kylie was our waitress and she was super sweet and helpful. She gave great food recommendations and helped whenever we needed anything. If yall do go you should try the buffalo mac and cheese it's delicious.

Walking in, there was a wet rag odor where they possibly had mopped using dirty water, but we looked over it. Our waitress was very nice, though we couldn't find her a few times but she popped back up eventually. The bam bam gulf shrimp was very very good with the sweet chili sauce on it. My fried chicken sandwich was very fresh and hot but had no flavor. While my husband had the gooey chargrileld chicken and it was fantastic. We went on a Friday around 1:30 they were not busy at all so it was a perfect time to pop in. All in all it was good not fantastic, I don't think id go out of my way to stop in when so many other choices are around, but id gove it another try.

Their so-called famous wings are disgusting. The wings were over-cooked and overpriced. The wings had very little sauce, and I had to ask for more. The restaurant is filthy, I would hate to see the kitchen. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and observed 2 employees. The one was fixing his hair, while the other was using the restroom. Neither one washed their hands with soap. I can't remember seeing signs for employees to wash hands after using the restroom.

It was my first time eating at this chain, it was good with a great atmosphere.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner! I said I was going to come back and try their wings. I am so glad that I did. I started with the artisan salad. It had a mix of baby greens, dried cranberries, feta cheese edamame, pecans, orange segments, and strawberries. It was fresh and the fruit was so juicy that I almost dripped it on my clothes. I had the raspberry vinegarette with it. I ordered the traditional large wing special, mild. It comes with curly fries. I was so excited about the wings that I forgot to order the celery and blue cheese that I normally would have with it. I ordered the celery and had ranch dressing, being absent-minded. The curly fries tasted like plain French fries. They weren't brown enough and there was no seasoning on them. The wings were hot out of the fryer and took a couple of minutes before I could hold one. The skin was crispy and the sauce was flavorful. They were so good with the sauce and ranch combined just as you take a bite. Six were filling, but they came with ten. I had to finish them while I still had messy fingers. Finger licking good. Well worth the money.

We had an awesome lunch there. Yes service was a tad slower than I like but, under the current shortage of workers they rocked it. I had the Da Boss Burger it was so amazing. It was cooked perfect and was put together amazingly. Almost forgot order the fried pickles wow oh wow. The really did an awesome job. Food was great and service was amazing. Under the current climate of need for workers the staff went above and beyond.

I LOVED our server the night we came here!!! She was so fun! I wish I remembered her name.... My sorority sisters and I came here around 9 ish on a Saturday night. They were already seated when I arrived. The food was good! We all had something different. I ended up ordering just 6 lemon pepper wings (crispy) and they were soooo good! Prepared perfectly; I also had ranch and buffalo wing sauce on the side. I was disappointed in their draft beer selection. Very disappointed! I opted for extra dirty martini(s) but would have preferred a beer with my wings. The vibe was lively as this a sport bar. We enjoyed watching the Bama men's basketball game while we dined. It was great! I really enjoyed my first time at this location. I appreciate how close the location was to where I was staying.

Not been to every one of their restaurants, except Auburn and I've always said perfect service best wings ever had in my life. If you've never eaten there, it's a once in a lifetime place to go and try. They have everything the cheese fries unbelievable. The guy owned. It is probably one of the greatest guys I've ever met. Used to play football with my uncle.

We celebrated my son's spring 2025 graduation from University of Alabama here and we had an amazing time with great food, fun sporty atmosphere, great phot ops and excellent service. We had a party of 10 and waited maybe 10 min for an inside table which is amazing on this busy weekend. We had my grand daughter that is 20 months and in a high chair and alittle messy but our server and the staff never got upset when she spilled her drink or food. Everything is reasonably priced, delicious and large portions. Everyone left full and satisfied. Thank you so much!

We decided to stop by to get some wings and gooey cheese fries, and we were excited to be seated at a booth, just like we had requested. However, when we got to the booth, it was absolutely dirty and gross. The hostess just looked at us and offered to bring us some napkins. She came back with the napkins but then left us to clean the entire table ourselves. We wiped it down, understanding it was a busy Friday night--especially since the food is good--so we were okay with it, but it felt a little rude that we had to clean our own table. Then we placed our appetizer order for the fried mozzarella and gooey fries. When the appetizers came out, we received chili and gooey fries instead. When we asked about the mozzarella, the waiter admitted he clicked the wrong item and said he didn't really pay attention. That made us a bit concerned. Then the wings arrived, and one of them had absolutely no sauce. When we asked for more sauce, the waiter said he'd bring it, but a few minutes later, the manager came over looking very aggravated that we had even asked. She dropped the sauce off quickly and left without a word. It'll be a while before I return.

Took my wife and mother out for dinner. Neither had their purses. My wife and I pushing 60 years and mother pushing 80 They were told to show their ID which they did not have. Asked to talk to the manager who never came out. We left to eat at Southern Ale House and had no issues

I went there with a friend from out of town. We were there around 4:30. Waiter was really attentive and brought our food out in a timely manner. He also kept our drinks full. We ordered the fried pickles. They were really crispy dill strips...delicious. I ordered the Havana chicken with the black beans, rice and chips. It was tasty. My friend ordered the black and white chicken... he said it was really good. I was just expecting regular boring sports bar food but what we got was an elevated dining experience in a sports bar setting.

Great sports bar with lots of Alabama Football history . Good service and fun vibe! Lots of all American choices. Great place to relax and watch a game!

Food is comforting. Friendly service and the hands on extremely helpful managers are always seen and available. It's an Alabama sports themed restaurant. Primarily football (Bob Baumhower was a dominant force at Alabama and later with the Dolphins.) Nice lunch menu too.

My first time there , the food was great and so was the service . We had the Bam Bam Chicken , Shrimp, Side Salad and Tailgate Burger

Firstly - have never seen such a heavily staffed restaurant with more employees standing around chatting rather than serving or out back smoking. Bathroom was filthy dirty. Food was average. Only reason we gave 2 stars was the bartender was friendly & attentive with service. This place desperately needs a manager - or a manager that cares.

That pot roast was pretty solid. The servers and staff at this location should be commended. The food was a little salty, but that's probably by design. Half of their customers' taste buds have already all gone to Heaven.

Came with a party of 25, and said we would split up. They accommodated us and seated up extremely quickly! Food was great too!

Courteous and attentive staff. The wings were crispy as I requested and they mix teriyaki and hot sauce per my request. Wings were delicious and tasty. Beverage (beer) was ice cold as well. Overall, a great experience

Traveling from NC to LA we stopped by this spot in Alabama after seeing all the pictures online and so glad I did. My dad ordered us some wings I got the honey garlic and it was so good. I'd order those wings again. For my meal I order the Shrimp Naan it was delicious and filling. It was loaded with crispy shrimp and the naan and sauce was a great addition. For my little ones I ordered a Mac n cheese and cheesy fries. I didn't realize the cheesy fries had bacon but our kind waitress helped by getting us a new baconless version. For dessert I was able to try beignets for the first time. It did not exceed my expectations or my fathers. The waiter said we can add a sauce to it if we would like next time if we ever wanted to try it again. The staff was friendly our food was good

Once again as always love the food here. Service was great. The food was amazing. The fried pickles are the best. Our waiter was attentive and constantly checking on us. You can't beat the atmosphere and the cleanliness of the place.

Always have a great experience going to Baumhower's. The staff is beyond friendly and you don't get better service anywhere else! Many options for food, different styles and choices so everyone can find something. It's nice to be able to watch multiple games but without the noise like at other sports bar/restaurants.

This is the place to visit for Wings in Tuscaloosa! They have burgers and other American foods as well. This is the University of Alabama place! Roll Tide!!!

Decent service, was a little disappointed in the food. Guess I should have got the wings, instead of the burger. Good ambience, and family friendly. Passing through so don't foresee a second chance anytime soon.

First time eating here. We were seated quickly, but took a minute before we were acknowledge by our waiter. When it was time to cash out our waiter mentioned it was ladies night (BOGO) on the appetizer. Our response was, why you didn't tell us? He said "I thought you knew". We think we caught him on a bad day. The waiters should start off with the specials being offered for that day. Overall the food was good.

Food was very good, the order did take a while to come out but the waiter we had name Tyler let us know that they were busy in the kitchen and we didn't mind the wait. Tyler was so cool and patient with us because we couldn't make up our mind on what to order and he even recommended a couple of things and we tried them and he did not disappoint. The gooey fries were good, we got them without the bacon. I loved the salad, it was very filling and I even took some home. The grilled chicken in the salad was delicious. The fried pickles were huge and the best price. The pot roast poboy naan was very tender and good, the naan was soft. My daughter had the shrimp poboy naan and she said it was really good. We had a little entertainment because there was a birthday and a proposal and the staff was in on it, I thought that was so nice. Location was clean and super busy but all the customers seemed satisfied. Make sure you ask for Tyler!

Bottom line...this was a convenient halfway point to meet someone. Will drive out of the way to a better spot next time. The average rating on this one can be trusted. Neither the burgers nor the fries were served as ordered. Apparently, the waitress and food prep staff either don't understand English or they just don't give a [insert preferred expletive]. Appetizer and fries portions are quite stingy. Burger patties were not seasoned well. Do yourself a favor and move on to another spot.

This is our regular place when we're in Tuscaloosa. It never disappoints! We've usually have burgers and wings, which are really good! Waitstaff is polite and quick, even when they're busy. We really like all the things monitors set to different sports channels so we don't miss anything! We just keep coming back!

They have a gluten sensitive menu. They say the wings are fried separately. The wings were not breaded and were crispy. We all ordered wings and my non-GF people got onion straws and boneless wings. They don't give you much sauce. We weren't overly impressed with the food, and it the restaurant could really benefit from a cleaning day (I mean, there is wing sauce on the blinds... really...) BUT The service was GREAT and my drink was good. I would say it's worth a try to see what you think. I will probably try it one more time myself.

Service was great thanks to Gabriella, food was great - sweet potato fries and cole slaw, only downfall was the bathrooms that reminded me of gas station bathrooms.

As an out of towner, this hit the spot! Food was hot and delicious! Both dishes had chicken and it was fork cutting worthy and tender. The broccoli had the perfect amount of tenderness with the slight crunch. Will most likely be back whenever we travel to the area!

Best fried pickles and our burgers were amazing! The waitress was so nice, I wish I could remember her name but lovely. She did the salt trick where you put it under your drink so the cup doesn't stick to the napkin!

Found this when we were looking for a stop between Tennessee and Gulfport Mississippi and this is well worth your time. We had gooey fries delivered hot in very few minutes and they were delicious. Ask your server to make a cocktail they are delicious and ask them for a recommendation from the menu our server offered three and we picked one with each of our party, and all three were slam dunks. Great sports bar and televisions in every corner so you won't miss that game.

Food was good, service was excellent. Fast and easy for lunch. Manager came around and checked on everyone - a sign of a well-run establishment.

I love the Mobile location, so I decided to try out the Tuscaloosa spot. It was super busy since it was Alabama's homecoming weekend. Obviously our server was new. He was extremely nice, but I think they gave him too big of a section. It seemed like he had 8 or 9 tables. So, it took a while for him to get everything to us, but his service wasn't horrible. I liked him a lot. The fries were really good, but the wings did miss. Due to the increasing price of chicken, their wings are more expensive. I didn't mind paying the price, but they actually weren't as good as I hoped they'd be.

We went in with low expectations. We had a group of 7. That usually brings issues by itself. We were sat within 5 minutes. It took about 30 minutes to get the food. But everything was done correctly. The food was fresh and delicious. Exceeded expectations. Gooey fries basically have queso and bacon on them. They were good.

During my trip to Tuscaloosa Alabama my hotel was down the road from this place I passed it up 3 days in a row I was only in town 6 days. So I finally stopped by let me tell you the. Service was top notch had no complaints Ambiance was great relaxing and inviting The food was off the chain I will definitely be back on my next trip this month

Great lunch. Got the inflation fighter chicken fajita wrap. It came with a free drink. Loved the wrap and the service was great.

The food is good but they ALWAYS forget food in take outs. Last time it was a whole meal. This time it was the sides for all 3 kids meals. So i end up cooking anyway! Frustrating

i absolutely ADORE baumhower's. However, this specific location is not my go to. Me and my mom were out in town around the area and decided we wanted to eat here because they have great food and this place is typically cheaper than any other food place we eat at (it's not as cheap since the inflation menu is gone but it is still pretty affordable). Well we walk in and they sit us down across from the ladies they just sat down. Well, we waited and waited for a server to come and just never did, even though the ladies sitting across from us had gotten drinks from the bar and appetizers. Well we continued to wait because they got there just right before us and we were trying to be understanding of the workers. Well they sat an older couple in the booth beside us and immediately got their drink order and everything while we still sat there with not a single server. after about 20-30 minutes of sitting there with 0 service, we got up and left. And all the workers looked at us like we were crazy. So long story short, i'd very much suggest the other location as i haven't had a single problem at that one. 5 stars for the food, -3 for this specific place and service.

Very rude hosting service. Asked about the wait time and they said they couldn't give us a time because it was gameday, but the game was long over, and there were also many tables available. My grandma came up after me and asked the same question and she was told "longer than 5 minutes but shorter than 3 hours." No need for the smart answer.

The last time we ate here it was disappointing, not this time it was awesome. Set at the bar, food was awesome. Sherry was the tender/waitress, she was awesome, great service. Plaice was clean and enjoyable. Bar needs to be refinished, sticky from the sealer. Overall they were GREAT. Thanks for a great meal .

When I came into this place I expected it to be a typical slightly better than average kind of chain restaurant. We had quick friendly service and the Geaux Fish plate was excellent. It was topped with shrimp etouffee which is one of my favorite sauces to put on seafood. The decor was University of Alabama football as the owner was a player. A nice end to my son's college visit there.

Food was good & Laura gave us great service! Salted watermelon margarita is the best!

Food is MEH and is not what you think it is. By the name alone you would think you're going to a German restaurant but instead it's just another over priced burger and beer joint. Service was decent but needs more people. Wasn't very impressed by the entire event. Not going back.

Our server Brett at the Tuscaloosa South location was amazing, he answered any questions we had and had excellent customer service skills. The manager Dwight was great as well , he came outside to check on us and made sure we were good ! Everything was all around amazing 10/10

I've been to the location two times so far and both times have been amazing, great service and great waiters, the food is always good and a great environment, I got the mild lemon pepper wings both times and they have been amazing both times. I will definitely be coming more often!

I got the mild chicken wings and I have never seen so much meat on wings. Will be going back very soon.
