Technically I'd give it 2 1/2 stars. We rented out 19 rooms, plus a banquet room For our boat clubs winter meeting and gathering. We paid extra for a "suite" next to the adult pool.
The room was nice enough, although we had no coffee maker, and a random ice bucket with no lid. No microwave available either. So for the price, it was sorely lacking.
The banquet room was ok, the chicken (which they are famous for) was very good, but the prime rib was tough, and not cooked properly, the sides and veggies were bland, no flavor and zero seasoning. Most of us paid an extra $39 per person for an "open bar". That "bar" was a gal behind a small table, with very poor offerings. No good German beer or better liquor brands and no one was allowed to have any "shots". I'm sure that rule wasn't discussed beforehand. The Rented time for the banquet room was 5-12. It was small and overly warm in there, so by 9:30-10pm everyone had left the banquet room and all went to our suite.
Through the door wall was the adult pool, along with tables and chairs in a sort of indoor courtyard. So everyone hung out, visited, played cards etc between our room and the area outside it. At exactly 5 minutes past 11 pm. (This was a Saturday night) A young man, (about 22, 5'11 and maybe 120lbs) comes over to us, with a very bad attitude and immediately starts
Threatening us! No warning, no "can you keep it down" etc. Nope! He just says, Your making to much noice, and I'll just call the police if I need to, I've had a complaint" one, single complaint, according to him. No nicely worded "please keep the noice level down", etc.
We were stunned! One member, was jokingly saying "Shhh" to everyone, no one was rude or disrespectful at all. I don't think we even responded we were so shocked! (average age of boat club members is 40-70 ish, plus we had a few kids with our group).
That little guy came right back and says to the guy who was just kidding "if you are the problem, I'll just remove you"! (He was 6'2 about 220 lbs.)
Within 20 minutes another
Group of 16 people were sitting right near us. They were making as much or more noise, and the little guy had disappeared and said nothing to them.
In my humble opinion it's extremely bad manners (and dangerous, frankly) to just confront a large group of paying customers and start threatening them. Especially when you didn't even give a single warning! I doubt our club will return to this place.
They have a rogue employee that likes to threaten innocent guests for no good reason. (He might get hurt badly someday, with an attitude like that! Perhaps the "service industry" is a poor career
Choice for him).
If you've got a large, fun loving group, go somewhere else!
