Bawadi Mediterranean Grill

We celebrated Iftar at Bawadi Mediterranean Grill and had a very good experience overall. If you’re going for the Iftar buffet, make reservations early and clearly state your seating needs. The restaurant gets extremely packed and seating is tight. Not all tables offer the same space, so if you have elderly guests, kids, or need extra room, mention it when booking. Arriving early helped us with parking and allowed the staff to switch us to a more comfortable table. The food was delicious with a great variety — something for everyone. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and despite how busy it was, the staff worked hard and were accommodating. A few things to note: parking was hectic, we had to call twice to confirm our reservation, and service can take patience during peak hours. Our bill for two came to about $120, with an automatic 18% service charge added (plus a tip line). While the food was very good, the total was a bit higher than expected. Overall, great food and a festive Iftar atmosphere — just plan ahead and arrive early for the best experience.

This is one of my favorite Mediterranean restaurants. It’s actually authentic Palestinian food. Absolutely love the decor and the vibe. The food is absolutely delicious. Everybody should try their Ramadan buffet.

Had Iftar here and the food and service was incredible. Highly recommend arriving around 5:30-5:45 for first dibs on food and make sure you make a reservation so you don’t get turned away. The staff were super friendly and accommodating for anything we needed as items ran out.

I’ve been coming to Bawadi for years, and every single visit has been a great experience. The food is always authentic, flavorful, and consistently delicious. Truly some of the best Palestinian cuisine around. This time, I ordered catering for my iftar, and they absolutely exceeded my expectations. Everything was just as fresh as it would be dining in the restaurant.. perfectly prepared, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. They were incredibly thoughtful with the packaging and made sure to include every single detail I could possibly need to make the catering seamless and special. From the quality of the food to the care they put into preparation and service, Bawadi never disappoints. Highly recommend for both dining in and catering, especially for special gatherings!

It’s not my first time here, and it never disappoints. The food is absolutely delicious, the buffet is generous with so many great options, and the atmosphere truly feels warm and homey. You really feel like you’re surrounded by family just like back home. Their molokhya tastes exactly like my mom’s, and their mint lemonade is incredibly refreshing. I always leave happy and satisfied!

Well if your GPS takes you around to the back parking lot like mine did, it might look rather unassuming BUT go INSIDE! You will not be disappointed! The pita is made fresh in house in a wood fired oven! You pass it as you head to the inside seating area. There's also an outside area and they have hooka too The food is buffet style with different hot options depending on the day. Kabobs, roasted chicken and rice seem to be staples. Then different stews and rice. Salad, hummus, tzatziki, and babaganush are cold option staples. Different coffees, espresso, tea, FRESH lemonade (gotta try it!) as well as canned sodas. Deserts are plentiful variety of baklava and other sweets I can't remember the name of. They are all delicious. Folks are friendly and happy to explain the different foods if you're not familiar. We'll be back again for sure!

This review is for Ramadan buffet, the fast break at sunset. The buffet offers multiple Palestinian traditional dishes, from Chicken Mandi, to Lamb Kabse, kabobs, and much more. They also offer Mediterranean classics like hummus, babaghanouj, Fatayer, and other offerings. Service was friendly, and the food variety a great opportunity to sample different traditional dishes. I believe the buffet option is available outside Ramadan period on weekends.

I always enjoy going into Bawadi. Their lunch buffet special on weekdays is so worth what you get. They always change up their menus and I enjoy trying new flavors and cuisines. I tried okra for the first time here. It will probably be my last time enjoying okra, as I wasn't a fan, but their chicken, rice, hummus, bread, salad and pastries all are included with the AYCE special. Their service is impeccable and over the top. Very friendly and so kind. I have gone back three times and I plan to continue.

Bawadi aka Ladies of the Desert was fabulous! The restaurant is in a very cool spot up on a hill, and then the inside is very cozy and traditional. The staff was wonderful, very friendly and helpful especially the nice woman who told me what Bawadi means and told me the best food on the menu haha I'm definitely going back, the hummus, kebabs, falafel, fries, salad, rice, everything was very very good! Five star review for you guys, u guys rock!!! Thanks so much for a great experience last night!

Very friendly establishment with a lovely atmosphere. The wait staff was attentive and didn't rush us out of the restaurant. The service is a little slow, but I felt it added to the relaxed atmosphere. The food was good - the kufta was very flavorful and the sauces were so good.

The worst kabsa anyone has ever served was the family-sized Kabsa Lamb that we ordered. $109.99 was a total waste. Additionally, they charge 18% for services. The food left us totally disappointed. Don't order kabsa, please! This food has no flavor or taste!

We had food today from Bawadi Mediterranean and it was absolutely delicious. Our co-worker Maria ordered from them for our holiday team lunch and the food was fresh and delicious. I will definitely keep this restaurant in mind.

There lunch buffet was delicious. A variety of food selections! Aside from Mediterranean food there was lasagna pizza, and breadsticks. You could also have fried wings with waffles fries. The mint lemonade was very refreshing!! Mohammed, our waiter ,was very nice and looked after our table with a smile.

I was not able to enjoy my meal here for their buffet . Because they did not have enough time and not many plates to choose from . Also, I think there was a miscommunication with the front person about when buffet ends because when we got there around two, their buffet already was in day at three. Which is something they should've mentioned because we didn't really get to try everything. I would wanted my money back.

Couple of days before I went to Bawadi Restaurant with my family for dinner. It's a great experience, delicious and sufficient food with a warm and friendly staff. I ordered Kabsa it's so yummy, spicy and delicious according to my taste and expectation, really like it. I definitely recommend this restaurant. I'm craving to visit again soon.

The lunch buffet was full of the usual suspects: hummus, babaghanoosh, soup, salad, bamia, moulokia, broasted chicken with rice, and even an assortment of sweets for dessert. We had been here a year and half ago, and the food service hasn't changed, it's still up to par! If you're looking for authentic taste in an atmosphere of middle eastern style, then this is the place for you! And don't forget to order some coffee to top it all off!

We had the dinner buffet and it was amazing! There was a nice variety of dishes ranging from shawarma, to makluba, kabsa, fresh pita and others! Each item was unique, fresh, and delicious! I also got mint tea which was delicious. The servers were friendly and kept the tables clean. The ambiance feels warm and cozy with Palestinian music! While we haven't had the pleasure of meeting the owners, they are passionate about upholding Palestinian cuisine and culture. I highly recommend this place and worth checking out! Also support Palestinian children's relief fund and UNRWA !

Love this whole establishment. The inside is so beautiful & filled with rich Palestinian culture. The staff are so friendly, they make you feel right at home. The food was simply amazing, every dish was cooked to perfection. Everyone should come experience Bawadi at least once

Support your local Palestinian restaurant!! Very fun decor inside and very lively when we came on a Wednesday night! Excellent service and hospitality here. Love the mint lemonade! Refreshing and more slush like with the ice. I would definitely try the fruit smoothies next time. My favorite things were the Maklouba with lamb, Fattoush Salad, and Veggie Starter Combo (falafel, hummus, baba ghannouj, and vegetarian grape leaves). Generous portion and quite affordable. Would love to try the lunch buffet (every day) or the Thursday dinner buffet one day!

bawadi is a real gem. we were seated quickly even though they seemed busy. the servers were attentive, and the atmosphere is great. i love looking around at the decorations. their fattoush salad was very light and refreshing with pomegranate molasses. the veggie combo is great for groups - it comes with hummus, baba ganoush, falafel and pita. i LOVE the falafel here, it is green on the inside which i enjoy. the pitas were fluffy and warm. i am obsessed with their lamb maklouba so much i went two days in a row just to have it. i want to try their thursday buffet so bad. the only thing i didn't like is i wanted tap water but they only serve bottled water. good news though, they have a mint lemonade that is so delicious and made fresh.

Been to this place many times in the past, but this time everything hit so differently. It felt very emotional being there this time. The owners have lost many family members during the genocide going on right now. We want to be able to support their business and other Palestinian businesses as well. This place has so much culture displayed inside. Every corner has a beautiful piece of art or representation. It got busy very fast for a weeknight. We ordered a couple of traditional items and they all were very delicious. Food came out all satisfying and really gives you a taste of their food and culture. I have to say the prices did seem a little steep, but I know they have been giving a percentage to donations so it makes me feel okay for the prices that have been set. Definitely will be coming back when we visit next time.

Amazing food! Amazing service! I'm from Chicago and all I can say is the dinner buffet was super delicious, great variety and super reasonable! Definitely will be back. The service and staff were fantastic! I totally recommend this place if you're looking for an amazing dining experience!

I was recommended this place just for their Shawarma, so that is exactly what I ordered along with their fries. First off, the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich was very delicious as the meat was juicy, flavorful, and tender while the pita was crispy, but it could've used some crispy fries and spice in it. Unfortunately the side of fries I ordered were soggy, so that was disappointing, but the Shawarma itself was fantastic and I would try again.

Food: average. Looking at the website pictures, we were in ahw. However, when went there half the stuff in the pictures were not on the buffet. When we asked, they said the pictures are for the special buffet the have on Thursday nights only. Well, wouldn't you think they should have that written somewhere!! Service: above average but definitely can be better. Less attitude and more attention will go along way. Ambiance: walls have many traditional and cultural pictures and things. Tables and floors, more like a diner.

Best iftar buffet ever!! For $34.99 - it was AMAZING!!! Different types of meats, salads, and rice. There was also pasta and samosas. Love supporting Palestinian restaurants. We also got their FRESH strawberry and pineapple juices which were heavenly. A MUST!! The service was great and the employees were so kind. The restaurant itself is very beautiful and spacious with cozy tents!

I really enjoyed the food. Came here with a friend for lunch on a Friday and they had a buffet with a lot of delicious food. I also had asked someone about allergy info and they walked me through the buffet and told me what items to avoid. Very kind staff and a wonderful atmosphere.

Extremely overpriced. A meal that's listed as $56 ends up costing around $80 after excessive service fees. The food itself is already more expensive than it should be, and they tack on hidden charges that aren't disclosed upfront. I won't be returning--this place feels like a rip-off.

Went in first time. Thursday buffet starts 18:30 we got there at 18:00, guess what food was ready and we went strait in. Good selection of rice dishes chicken shawarma kabobs Shia tawook fatoush tabouli hummus baba ghanoug pizza meat pies chicken egg rolls falafel etc etc Mint lemonade excellent recommended then we ordered the kinafe good Well recommended

Bawadi has always been an enjoyable time, they have such a lot to offer whether you're here for food or hookah. The outside seating has changed up a bit, making the hookah experience more private. I've tasted the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich a few times and it's gotten better after each visit. The chicken is so moist and tender. The service is quite speedy and are super helpful when picking menu items. There are lots of seats inside and it's definitely a welcoming environment. They cater to everyone, you can have a large party here, date night or even stop in for the buffet.

What a wonderful place. Cozy, warm, and welcoming. Great food and great hospitality. Our server was phenomenal- she kept on checking in on us and made sure we were happy with our food- and she gave us great recommendations! First off, don't skip out on the appetizers! We got the veggie starter combo: it had grape leaves, falafel, fattoush salad, and hummus. It was so tasty- especially with the warm pitas next to them! And you get such a great amount of food- we even were eating them with our mains. For our entree, we ordered the Small Family Mixed Grill and Lamb Maklouba for our party of 5. The chicken and lamb were cooked to our liking (we asked for medium well)- and they were seasoned so well. Flavorful, but not too spicy and they went great with the yogurt sauces and rice. We even had enough to take home as leftovers. The fresh juices here are also phenomenal- especially the strawberry juice (a must try). For dessert, we got the cheese kunafah. It was lovely. Pistachios, cheese, and sweet syrup- absolutely delectable. The drive here might be tricky, especially if you aren't great at navigating 7 corners. It might be worthwhile to look at 7 corners via maps before you come here (by that I mean really zoom in on which road/street you are supposed to take). But if you're in the area- do not skip out on this place!

This is seriously the most delicious halal restaurant in the whole DMV. The first time I went to Bawadi was in 2021, and I fell in love with it. The service is always very welcoming, and the ambiance is familiar. It doesn't matter how many times you come; it never gets repetitive, and all of the dishes are amazing. My latest discovery was the eggplant salad, and it was mind-blowing. May Allah (SWT) keep blessing this restaurant.

Ordered carry out on a Sunday in anticipation of some heavy drinking. #SundayFunday The problem with ordering carry out when you're drunk and hungry, is you tend to overdue the ordering.... Ordering for 2 turns into ordering for 6 or 8 ppl... Ordered 2 orders of combo Chicken & Kufta kabobs, the Kabsa (half chicken), Hummus, 3 piece fried kibbeh, Bawadi veggie starter combo, Labne and 2 orders of tabuli. This was all for 2 ppl FYI.... Everything we ate was delicious, my one issue was the kibbeh was left off the order but we were still charged. Had to contact the restaurant to receive a credit but otherwise everything was phenomenal.

We tried their lunch buffet on a Saturday about 2pm. It was very busy. The staff were very good about refilling entrees, reminding folks to use disposable gloves at the buffet line. Staff were also very good about clearing our table and removing disposable glove trash. I thought food quality was good but not great. Beef stew meat was very dry and hard to chew. The lamb/rice and chicken/rice entrees were a little too salty for my taste. Chicken kabobs were a bit dry/overcooked; the pieces at the bottom sitting in the sauce weren't as dry probably from sitting in the sauce a while lol. Fried chicken batter was overly salty but otherwise perfectly cooked/moist. I loved their cucumber salad. It was $23 per person for lunch, and $2 for filtered bottled water (they don't serve just regular water). Overall I thought it was OK for a buffet, but we will likely not return.

My friend and I heard about their lunch buffet and it sounded amazing but we were too excited so we came for dinner instead. At first, when we were walking in, we were a bit thrown off as it seems like this place has 2 entrances and we may have entered through the back. The staff was super friendly and wearing masks. We ordered the lamb kabsa and the maklouba with lamb and both were amazing. I was thoroughly surprised when both rice dishes tasted different from one another and it was hard to pick which one I loved more. Each of the dishes had a symphony of flavors and textures too. You hd the soft and fluffy rice, the tender lamb, and then the crunch of the nuts on top. I would definitely come back again!

this fresh mint lemonade might save me. from what, i do not know but it's saving me bc it is the best thing ever. the baba gannouj is also on the same level. so is everything else. want to come here everyday and eat the appetizer platter and kibbeh. with the mint lemonade of course. awesome vibes in here too, so cozy and lively

This week I got very surprised that I've never reviewed some of the restaurants that I really love and enjoy! Bawadi is one of them! But I was gonna review Bawadi as a buffet because I only ate at their buffet which is usually lunch buffet and Thursday night dinner buffet but last night (Sunday) I finally tried it a la carte! If you don't want to read the details then I should tell you that they impressed me! Flexible menu with great options! Rich menu also! They have items that you can't - or it's a lot of work to make at home- like Kabsa, Mansaf and Qidra! I really loved the small family mix grill and the add on options they have were amazing! Really enjoyed the kufta , half grilled chicken and lamb chops everything was just fine too . They accommodated my diet and replaced the rice & bread with salad and grape leaves with falafel ! Oh their falafel came very fresh and it had a wonderful kick! SERVICE! 5 S T A R S! I really enjoyed the hospitality and service there and I can even say that it got improved than the last time I was there!! They accommodated our large group and Birthday cake and everything! I'll definitely go back for the buffet, grilled chicken and kabob! My friends said good stuff about the Mansaf too! We stayed indoor but the outdoor tents looked lovely as well!! It's a must go!

I enjoyed the mandi lamb here out of all the dishes. I like that they have a variety of things here such as fried chicken and pizza in addition to their regular cuisine. I did find it odd we ordered water and were given bottled water and charged $2 for each without any warning from our server. I don't think having bottle water is weird- just that it is the only option and they don't make their customers aware, especially when other customers I saw were drinking out of regular cups for tea or coffee so they have cups for that but not water? Service was okay here but I felt like we waited around awhile to get the check- not sure if worth coming back.

This review is for their lunch buffet. Came here looking for good spicy and well seasoned food which most middle eastern/Mediterranean places are. This place has some of the most bland and mediocre food I've ever tasted. Their buffet food was not good and not worth $24 per person. They had kabobs which were decent, chicken curry which was watery and just blah, lamb biryani which was actually good, another chicken and rice dish which was also okay, a simple cucumber salad, babaganoush, hummus, white rice, pita halves, an under seasoned and soggy eggplant dish, and an array of baklava which tasted like old nuts. Oh, and they had pizza and pasta with Alfredo sauce... definitely authentic. Lastly you can't have tap water you have to buy a water bottle for $2 if you want to drink something. Very disappointing food based on the reviews. Apparently it used to be good, but not anymore. I will not be coming back. 1 extra star for the very friendly staff and relaxed ambience.

The kabob chicken was amazing so was the fish and fries. Also the staff are so kind and the restaurant is so clean.

First off, a friend from the Embassy of Jordan recommended we go here after the Army 10 miler. I was very surprised considering it was AUCE for just 20 something. $24 maybe? The place looked ok. It was ethnic but no great shakes there as I've been to several Mediterranean restaurants abroad during my stint with the UNDP. It was clean and didn't have that musty carpetty smell I tend to expect from Mediterranean restaurants. Interiors 3 of 5. The food was GREAT. I've read a review or two on here calling the food sub-par but man oh man, if you guys watched Ratatouille, I was Anton Ego zooming back to my UN/ICRC days where I tasted that whole smorgasbord abroad. Kebab Palace doesn't hold a candle to it. The food was really good, especially the lamb. My kids said the "Italian" fare was good, too. I didn't want to waste stomach space on pizza and pasta tbh. I bought $100 worth of takeout since they're almost an hour from me, which is crappy. No Grubhub or Uber Eats as it was too far. Maybe it's good in a sense that I can only afford to binge once a month, lol. The service was great, and the owner was nice. When I told him that the server forgot to include the 2 baklavas I bought, he said it was FOC. Overall, 9 out of 10 for me.

I am of middle eastern descent and I am well travelled. Therefore, without boasting, my commentary carries weight, as I know middle eastern food very well. The food at this restaurant, which included the appetizers and the kebabs, was freshly made and very tasty, with right amount of seasonings/flavors. The entrees presentation was excellent. The desert (Palestinian Kinafeh) was freshly made and was spectacular! We drove over one hour to come to this place and it was definitely worth the drive. Very pleased with this restaurant and I will definitely come back.

Bawadi serves a buffet during lunch, with a huge selection of appetizers, salads, dips, (hummus and baba ghanoush) entrées (chicken and beef kebabs, lamb rice, chicken, couscous, beef stew, pasta), soup and dessert. Lunch buffet is available from 11:30am to 3pm. We ended up paying about $32/person with tax and tip. My personal favorite was the lamb in the lamb rice. It was so tender and juicy. The hummus and baba ghanouj refresh and the pita bread was warm. There is plenty of parking available right outside the restaurant. Came here around noon on a Saturday and we did not have to wait. However, they don't serve tap water so you'd have to pay $2/bottle for water. Overall, I think it's a good deal and if you want to try a variety of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern dishes. We were so stuffed (and wasn't able to try every thing in the buffet) by the end!

I went to Bawadi as a vendor at their Gaza Thrift event and they had such kind staff, excellent food and drinks, and the most beautiful outdoor space. Their lemonade was my favorite thing there and I would 100% recommend trying it if you go.

Oooooooweeeee Bawadi SLAPS. If you're in the area, RUN don't walk. It looks like it's a family owned business which I love. The food is incredible, we got a bunch of stuff and there were no misses. My favorite is the fattoush salsa with the pita crisps. I'm obsessed with the pomegranate molasses dressing they use. This has become my perfect salad. We also got the veggie combo to start which has baba ghanoush, hummus, grape leaves, and falafel. The pitas that came with and the whole veggie combo was sooooo good. We also got a lamb rice dish that I forgot the name of, and guess what it also slapped. They also have a mint lemonade which is soooooo good. Sometimes depending on who is making it, it can be a liiiiitle sweet, but I love lemonade so much I don't care. They also have a buffet but I haven't tried it yet. Come to Bawadi!!
