"When in Franklin, Bawarchi Biryani is the place to score your samosas, curries, and, yes, biryanis. This no-frills spot lends itself more to pick-up than dine-in, but locals have been relying on its perfectly spiced meat and vegetarian-friendly curries for flavor-packed meals on the run or at home. Its robust offering of different biryanis beats out any other restaurant in town." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

Yelp
Been coming here years now. Under remodel but still open. Guy who works here is always so nice. Miss the location on Demonbreun.

Yelp
Wow what a disappointment not even the butter chicken was good which quite frankly we make at home sometimes with original Indian spices and it's tastier than what we got from this place. Indian that is known for its rich and deep flavors and this is just blah! There is no flavor nuances between the tikka and butter chicken - also hate the chunks of chicken cut which was tough and the sauce runny! We spent $160 for this delivery and it will be tossed - the naan is like thick stale pita bread! Uber ratings are so freaking misleading never using that app again and should have come here first. We didn't even touch the lamb biryani after everything else was bad! The Szechuan noddles had the weirdest taste and the shrimp was hard.

Yelp
This place always delivers tasty food spiced to your desires. Food comes out quick. Dining room has cold AC. Deck is available when the weather permits.

Yelp
We were visiting relatives in this area back in August and their favorite spot for biryani was this place. I can see why. Their food was so good. We ordered takeout from there and got the following dishes: egg biryani, boneless chicken biryani, chicken dum biryani, and chicken 555. All of them were delicious and reasonably priced. We would definitely get takeout or some here again when in town.

Yelp
This is our go-to for Indian food in Cool Springs area. Usually, I order online and then pick up my order. Today, the online ordering system was down, but WE WANTED INDIAN FOOD! I decided to order in person and wait for our food. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I learned that their entire electronic order/payment system was down - cash xfer apps or cash only. So I ran to my atm and got cash. As did many others that came in while I was waiting for my food. That's my point here - their food is so good that it's worth the minor inconvenience of using alternate payment methods. My other comment is on the service tonight. These guys were obviously stressed about their system being unavailable, but their friendly attitudes never wavered. In fact, I'd say they went above and beyond to create a positive experience, even in this frustrating situation. I really enjoy their food, but their grace under pressure will keep me coming back more often - even if I have to go to the ATM first!

Yelp
Their Tikka Masala is alright but the Naan bread is garbage. Doesn't taste authentic and is bland and dry...both the butter and the garlic Naan. Also, the wait was BRUTAL! They said it'd be ready in half an hour (which is already pretty long), but I had to wait there for another 40 minutes when I got there! Such a waste of my time.

Nate M.

Yelp
These samosas here are fire! Sadly that's all I got during my visit, but I can guarantee you if you buy a few of these crispy flavor pillows you'll be in snack heaven. I ordered the veggie samosas filled with potatoes, chickpeas and spices. They do offer samosas with chicken, but I decided to go veggie this time around. This location is offering both indoor and outdoor dining and to-go options as well. Plenty of parking and a friendly staff. Get here ASAP!

Yelp
I ordered via grubhub and got the chicken Tikki Masala and it was really delicious. Just the right amount of creaminess and savory spices while not being overpowered by salt. The rice was also done perfectly. I really enjoyed it and will be back.

Alethea G.

Yelp
We love this place! It's our Friday night dinner every week! Flavor is amazing and the staff is kind and helpful!

Saiteja G.

Yelp
I was here twice again during my most recent Nashville trip. Both the times they weren't up to the mark. We have ordered the chicken 555, Apollo fish, boneless chicken biryani during our recent visit. They cooked all the dishes in a pre-made sauce and tossed the meat in it. This was not what I was expecting out of a bawarchi franchise. Usually, a lot of Indian restaurants pre make their sauces. However, here all of them pretty much tasted the same and NOT authentic. I also ordered the kheema biryani which I'd rate as better than the other food. Overall, it's still the better Indian food spot we are left with in this town so might still come back again.

Laure S.

Yelp
The food here is not good. They used chicken breast in the tikka masala and it was so dry. Tasted liked they added it to the sauce last minute. Flavor was not in the chicken and the naan was like cardboard. One of my grandsons threw up all night and 4 other people had upset stomach. This is not good food.

Marco V.

Yelp
The food was pretty good. The Nan was not good at all, the bread and portion was bad. I ordered planets of food and only received three pieces of bread. Butter chicken was a little bland.

Yelp
Yuuummmmmm.... We just so happened upon this place when we were staying at a hotel in cool springs and walking to another restaurant... We saw Indian food and took a sharp right turn and we are thankful that we did. Every single thing on the menu that we ordered was top-notch including the appetizers. The Mali Kofta is some of the best I've had and that is one of my favorite dishes. Yum!

Philip M.

Yelp
At here last week. The restaurant had one large table eating an all the other tables were dirty. We ordered our usual butter chicken and 555 Gravy entrees and then, on impulse, the samosa in the window. Obviously it had been there all day and should not have been sold. There was some plastic or something sticking to the bottom. The naan was also old & dried out. Doubt it was fresh. The entrees were fine but not much chicken in the butter chicken. This used to be our favorite spot but we'll be looking for alternatives.

Yelp
I frequently daydream about spicy biryani, so I decided to give this place a shot. I ended up ordering the boneless chicken biryani, along with the gobi manchurian appetizer. Now, I was fully planning on only eating half of the biryani, and saving the second half for tomorrow. That...did not happen. IT WAS TOO GOOD! I ate the whole damn thing! I ordered it with a medium level of heat, and it was perfect for me (I am obsessed with adding hot sauce to everything, so I have decent heat tolerance) in order to enjoy the heat while also tasting all of the spices in the dish. It was incredibly flavorful and aromatic. There's no doubt this place is authentic, and this biryani is right up there with some of the best I've ever had. (My only piece of advice: I found a couple whole cloves in my rice, so if you order the biryani, make sure you don't bite into a whole clove and wreck your palate!) The biryani was so good, I was about 3/4ths of the way through it before I remembered that I had raita! The gobi manchurian was also incredibly tasty. I also ordered this with a medium level of heat, and it was definitely a bit hotter than the biryani that I ordered with the same heat level - but, I don't care. It was still amazing, it had some serious heat, and it was absolutely delicious. The staff was also very friendly (and spoke English perfectly, for those of you who get anxious about those kinds of things). For Indian food, the prices were also good, and everything was absolutely justified. I'd definitely come back here again in a heartbeat!

Yelp
A client dropped this food off for us and it was amazing. We had the chicken Biryani and the Egg Biryani. Rice was full of flavor, chicken was very tender. Spice level seemed mild to me which was fine but I wouldnt mind if it was medium spicy either. It came with what I think was Daal, Raita, and some onions with lemon. I would absolutely recommend this place and I cant wait to try this again.

Yelp
Malai Kofta were hard..they should be soft...lately i have been noticing that this place is off their usual game. Maybe chef needs to focus on improving quality and also bringing consistency to items he's making

Conni E.

Yelp
Always delicious, and the people are very kind and welcoming. It's mostly takeout, but there are tables to eat at. One of our faves.

Abby T.

Yelp
Best go to Indian place in Franklin. I don't go to any other Indian place in Franklin. We always get the boneless chicken biryani and it's huge! It's easily two meals and it's so good that I have to stop myself from eating it all. Their gobi 65 is deep fried spiced cauliflower and it's very flavorful. Perfect as a side dish to the biryani. Don't forget to try their mango lassis! Creamy and just the right touch of sweetness. I always want to get more every time. I've gone for dine in but it's so easy to do take out from there. A must try and definitely happy that there's something different in Franklin.

Madhavi S.

Yelp
It is our goto place every time we get hungry ! They are pretty good with the to go orders and the biryanis are tasty! Good customer service and good food ! We generally order chicken and egg biryani. The Goni appetizers are delicious too.

Katie N.

Yelp
We were catered this local Indian cuisine for a work lunch. The food was delicious. Everything was fresh and spiced perfectly well. I had never ate Indian food before this lunch and now it is one of my favorites. The chicken masala was my favorite with the rice and white sauce(forgot the name). Very good.

Beaujarred S.

Yelp
Found out about this place on yelp when I pulled up I thought oh no it looks like a fast food place was I surprised Their signature Dosa, this you must try A huge savory chickpea crêpe like pancake thin crispy light stuffed and served with the most amazing condiments all homemade. Worth a trip to Brentwood.will definitely be going again

Kirit P.

Yelp
One of the finest and the best restaurants I had in the recent times. It tastes damn good. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone who visits Nashville and wanna try some authentic taste

Jon H.

Yelp
Great Goat Biryani! The service was good too. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Jennie B.

Yelp
Amazing flavor! I always get takeout here when I am in Franklin. The minced goat Briyani is my absolute favorite.

Isaiah W.

Yelp
Food was amazing, service was pretty good as well, and they even brought us complementary Mother's Day cake, which was phenomenal! Great overall experience!

Nirmal P.

Yelp
the worst Indian food I have ever had today, this place used to serve very good food before and today I have order 5 different items and each items are serve with stinky and bad smell , look like really old and not cooked after the order placed. noodles, paneer, fried rice , Idali sambhar everything were cold and tasteless with bad smell, even samosa are bed with smell in front warmer , we left all food on table and leave , highly not recommend to any one,

Susam A.

Yelp
Great Freshly cooked Indian food! I will eat there again . The atmosphere is hole in the wall but the food was hot, delicious . I actually had Szechwan fried rice with Chicken added which actually is Indo-Chinese specialty and was really good. It's so nice to get HOT food ( temperature) freshly cooked. The spicy- ness was tasty and not overwhelming. I've been craving it since I left so I know I will be back again. There are lots of non meat choices. Interior is what is usually seen in a strip center. There were several families eating while I was there but everyone spoke softy so it was not disturbing. plentiful.

Yelp
Delicious Indian food at a reasonable price! Definitely worth the 20-minute drive from Nashville. Hyderabadi Dum Biryani (chicken): 4/5 Super flavorful! The chicken and rice were seasoned and cooked well, and the large portion meant that I got two meals out of this one item. The only thing was that I did not use the raita (don't like yogurt that much) and salan (found this to be too oily) served on the side. Samosa: 4/5 Crispy exterior with a deliciously savory filling. The sauce on the side added some necessary acidity. Mango Lassi: 4/5 Strong mango flavor and sufficiently, but not overpoweringly, sweet. It was maybe a little too watery, but that's a minor issue. Service: 5/5 They got our orders right, our food came out reasonably fast, and they were generous with the to-go boxes and bags. I really can't ask for more from a fast casual place like this.

Maui W.

Yelp
My husband and I hadn't been able to stop talking about our delicious dinner (especially the Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani) from Bawarchi Biryani Point, that he volunteered to drive the one hour round trip to pick up our dinner from there last night again. I happily agreed that it was the right choice. This time we ordered: Masala Fish Fry Chennai Meen Kuzhambu Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani Goat Fry Biryani Chapati (2 orders) The Masala Fish Fry was very flavorful. It was exactly what we needed to start our meal. We really enjoyed the fish curry (Chennai Meen Kuzhambu). I loved the sauce that it was cooked in. The fish was so soft and tasty and it went perfectly with the chapatis. On to the star of our dinner, the Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani - it was just as delicious as the first time. I have to agree with my husband, it is one of the best Biryani's we have ever tasted. I love the generous portion of dark meat chicken which is so very soft and perfectly cooked. We enjoyed each and every bite. Goat Fry Biryani was a new concept for us. It was tasty but the Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani was our favorite Next time when we are back in town, I would like to order the Hyderabadi Mutton Biryani as the lady who I spoke to on the phone said it is only available during the weekends. Also I didn't see this in their online menu, but I had asked my husband to pick up their menu and in it, it says they offer family pack of Biryani. I love that concept and will definitely order their Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani Family Pack, as it is that good.

Yelp
Authentic Indian cuisine! No need to travel far for this attentive casual atmosphere and multiple tasty choices. My husband and I recently enjoyed a filling dinner with flavors and seasonings unmatched by higher end restaurants... for a fraction of the cost you can indulge your taste buds with the most authentic Indian food I've experienced! Next time you're out and about needing to fill that craving, stop in! A tip about the heat level of spices; if you tolerate fairly spicy food try the medium level, but no higher! Thank you for serving this community well and sharing your culture to the highest level!

Yvonne S.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my idlis sambhar, it was spicy and flavorful, 2 big idlis. The restaurant has a case of easy grab'n go items to select and since my samosa wasn't hot I suppose that it was one from the display case. The flavor was yummy but it wasn't crispy and made to order. It definitely go here for outstanding idlis.

Lucy O.

Yelp
Ordered 2 biriyani to go since this place still not letting customer to dine in. Biriyani was very nice and very spicy and flavorful. We asked to make it little spicy, so it was not to overly spicy, yet spicy enough to have enough flavor of spices. A lot of chicken was in as well. In fact Biriyani is a lot and even possible to share with 2 person. Definitely will back, and hope to be able to dine in soon.

Steven B.

Yelp
The biryani is amazing. I don't think you will go wrong with that option however, I am giving 4 stars because my favorite dish was removed from the menu. It was called Andhra Chicken and it was the best thing since sliced naan. Please bring this back. Also, the chicken 555 could also use a little bit more flavors like it used to be made because it is not as good as it used to be. Either way, this place is still delicious overall and great place for Indian cuisine.

Amanda M.

Yelp
The food is incredible here and they are always so nice! I highly recommend the malai kofta. It's definitely my favorite Indian restaurant in Franklin/Nashville.

Rick B.

Yelp
Always great food. Easy to order by phone or online and doing a great job keeping customers safe during these trying times. Help a local small business, give them a try! You won't be disappointed. They make great recommendations if you call in your order.

Vasanta K.

Yelp
Very vast menu even for vegetarians... Dosas, Pulavs, Biryanis are a must try for everyone.

Breana T.

Yelp
Hands down THE BEST Indian food you'll find in Tennessee, maybe anywhere around. I'm from the SF BAY AREA and let me tell you -- I know Indian, and with a plethora of choices I've tasted a lot of what the bay has to offer. This place blows most places I've had out of the water. They've managed to squeeze in there and take 5th place of my all time favs! Do yourself a favor and go try it now!!!

Blair S.

Yelp
Bawarchi has great food - don't let the three stars fool you. The biryani bowls are great and really hit the spot. They are flavorful, filling, and the price is right. They also have a great variety of dosa and other dishes from throughout India. The food is made to order with fresh ingredients. The Hakka noodles is a great example of this. Five stars for the food, four stars for the prices, except as noted below. The dining area is simple fast casual, decorated with posters of Bollywood stars. There is a nice outdoor patio as well. It's clean, and even during rush times I have never had trouble finding a seat. Note: I usually eat late dinners and this is the only place I have been in Cool Springs where 8 PM was a busy time - like line out the door. Don't worry, the line usually moves fast. Two cons: 1) They have a large digital menu, however it is not up to date. Of my five visits, only twice have they had everything I ordered. Not a good hit rate for a digital menu, even if some missing items (not all) are limited to ensure freshness. Minus one star. 2) I ordered a family pack and picked an appetizer, included in the family pack. Then the bill came out higher than expected. The cashier neglected to tell me there was a $2 surcharge for a change of appetizer - and the appetizer only had a $1 price difference on the menu! It was remedied with a refund, but the surcharge was ridiculous and the lack of transparency was unethical. Minus one star. Barwachi is a great addition to the growing Cool Springs international food scene, and I hope they'll improve on the two cons above.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time today. It was ok. I tried to order mulligatawny soup and he had no idea what I was talking about. I tried ordering mint chutney and same answer. Yes different regions have different food but chutney is universal. We ordered chicken korma which was quite good. I ordered Masala dosa, it was ok. Pancake was huge compared to fill, tomato chutney was good! Now the part that really killed me ,hence the 3 stars was the garlic naan. It was store bought bread, not homemade at all. Hardly any butter or garlic. So odd that they would serve it thinking customers wouldn't notice

Phillip H.

Yelp
Really flavorful dishes, with all varieties of vegetables and chicken. Biryani excellent.

Orlando H.

Yelp
Decent spot but the consistency varies at times. They do push biryiani dishes. The menu can be pricey, be careful. One order can serve two, don't over do it. It's a very relaxed atmosphere don't get the fountain soda it's consistently flat. Go for the can or bottle beverages or simply water. You will need to cool down if you have a spiced dish. I enjoyed it for what it is.

Sharat R.

Yelp
The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Lip smacking food, rich is spices. Amazing quality and service. Cooking style reflects the culture of southern India. Highly recommend!

Jonathan H.

Yelp
Probably the friendliest restaurant I've been to :) really great service! And then... they have amazing food. Got to sample like 10 different meals during my dinner (I was with a group) and each one tasted unique and amazing. Love this place - definitely coming back!

Chanchala K.

Yelp
Great food, Good Staff and quick service. Our favorites are Chicken Dum Biryani, Chicken 555, Chicken 65, Boneless chicken Biryani and many more....!

Lu H.

Yelp
I ordered the Masala Omelet and vegetable samosa. The samosa ($1.25) was served with a dipping sauce. It was quite filled as well as flavorful. Spicier than expected but good. The omelet was a bit disappointing. Although it was tasty it had quite a bit of black pepper in it and, again, more heat than expected. It was served just an omelet, no rice or bread. Granted, it was only $4.99, but a small scoop of rice or small piece on naan would've been nice to cut some of the heat. I did not ask about heat levels but they also did not ask. I came lunchtime it's quite busy. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I would return (especially since I'll be working nearby) and would recommend.

Subba K.

Yelp
Amazing place to go with family and enjoy yummy food. Friendly service with excellent outdoor seating! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family!

Sai Kishore P.

Yelp
Disappointed one time for the reason they run out of mostly all biryani's on a Friday evening.. seriously, that is the best time people come down for some biryani and drinks. i think they should make start making more biryani at least for the weekends.

Marvin S.

Yelp
What a fabulous little restaurant. I stumbled upon this place while getting my truck detailed. There were over 30 patrons inside when I walked in....it was packed!!! OMG!!! I had the boneless chicken Biryani, a recommendation from the gentleman at the register.....It was amazing ! He added a side of yogurt to tame down the spices along with a side of Jalapeno Saalan to heat things up. The Saalan is the way to go ;) The service was outstanding and everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. I would give it a 10 out of 5 if I could Definitely a great place to try....I'll be back soon !!!

Louise G.

Yelp
I order from here all the time and the food is amazing!! tonight the doordash app crashed and the owner delivered my food to me (30 min away) himself. Awesome food and kind people 5/5!!!
