I've had most of the menu and have loved every beer I've tried here. Today was overcast and cold, perfect weather for a stout. The Gambino didn't disappoint. It is well balanced and smooth. The Coco Ono a Pina colada hazy IPA. Also an awesome choice tith the pineapple nicely complementing the hops and the coconut being present but not overwhelming. Definitely stop by and have a taste

Google
Super yummy beer. Each has a very distinct flavor profile. We've had 5 different types and enjoyed them all. There is a big dog friendly outdoor patio area with lots of space to hang with your buddies.

You cannot get a better beer than the Bay City Pale Ale. Period. Oh and the brewery is super chill, they are always friendly and super nice. Highly highly recommend. Plus there's always a good food truck or station. Parking is a B when it's busy so just park near Kobes

Google
Thank you Bruce, it was nice visiting bay city brewing. My boyfriend and I enjoyed trying a couple beers including the Tucci Gang Italian style Pils. We enjoyed trying meeting very chill people like you, take care.

Would come back here just for the staff, so nice! The rooftop was a nice add too (aka very nice) 😉

Google
We visited Bay City Brewing while visiting San Diego recently. We visited on a Friday night and the brewery was bustling. Tanner, one of the bartenders, assisted us with beers and made great recommendations. He was great! We enjoyed the outdoor patio. We loved all the dogs (it's dog friendly)! If we lived in the area we would definitely come back here with our pup!

Google
Loved the place for the beer. Really nice double ipa. Full metal burgers food truck outside was insanely good. It gets really crowded before hockey games though. Would recommend not going at those times because the drink lines are super long. Nice outside area with corn hole and other games. Would definitely go back

Yelp
I've had most of the menu and have loved every beer I've tried here. Today was overcast and cold, perfect weather for a stout. The Gambino didn't disappoint. It is well balanced and smooth. My hubby is addicted to the Coco Ono a Pina colada hazy IPA. Also an awesome choice tith the pineapple nicely complementing the hops and the coconut being present but not overwhelming. Definitely stop by and have a taste. Staff are all helpful and friendly too.

Yelp
Definitely the place to go before a Gulls game, or anything else at the Sports Arena! I had two different IPA's that were both great. The workers were awesome. One thing I especially liked was that if you ordered a pint, they offered an 8oz pour of one brew and an 8oz pour of another for the same pint price. Every other brewery in this city charges more (per ounce) for smaller pours. That alone would get me to go back.

Yelp
Such a great hidden gem! The hubby and I came in pre San Diego Seals game for a brew and some food. The service was friendly, the beers were amazing, and food from the food truck was so delicious! We really enjoyed our experience, and plan to make Bay City Brewing a part of our Seals Game Night tradition. See you there!

Yelp
BCB is a super cool unassuming AWESOME brew house. Located near Pachenga casino, BCB has about a dozen on tap offerings and each are fantastic. My fave is called juicy gang hazy ipa. Coming in at about 8 abv... this brew is no joke. It bursts w tropical, citrusy flavor and goes down way to easy. Go here by Uber and drink these wonderful beers!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Always so friendly when you come in. Great beers on tap and great to go options. Ambiance is nice with the friendly atmosphere and plenty of room. Will always recommend bay city and can't wait for the beer to be available in stores soon!

Cody G.

Yelp
Great beer, even better people! Dog friendly, good food trucks. Definitely recommend it to anyone in the area!

Yelp
Randomly stopped by after the swap meet to grab a drink! The bartender was very friendly and was very helpful in choosing a brew and offering samples. They had a ton of IPA choices which I appreciated, my friend went with their Pina Colada inspired hazy which she was obsessed with. It was pretty busy due to them hosting a school of rock day. There were multiple performances while we were there from kids, It was pretty random but very entertaining!

Yelp
This place is pretty cool! Great beer, friendly staff, and a cool atmosphere. You can order takeout to the brewery which is nice if you wanna eat something specific. We loved the game room and played a round of darts and watched the fiesta game. Definitely will be back!

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Bay City Brewing. I go to the downtown location often, but have been to the Hancock location a few times. The beer here is always on point. I got the Pina Colada IPA and it did not disappoint. The outdoor seating is exceptional. They've got a garden going in the back, and a lot of unique seats. Definitely a great spot to visit.
google avatar

Yelp
Always a great time when we come here. Today their was a taco truck out front and live music outback. Perfect beer drinking weather and always a great environment for easy drinking.

Yelp
Cool little spot! Really enjoyed my 4th anniversary coffee cream ale. It was super light and not at all what I'd expect from a coffee flavored beer. Just a nice hint of coffee, mmm. Hubs loved the Power Play IPA. The outside area is super cute - a great place to chill in the summer. I wish they had the heaters on because it's a wee bit chilly for SD, but still pretty nice outside. And it's surprisingly not loud being so close to the highway. Beers ranged from $4-6, super reasonable. Definitely a great spot to check out!

Yelp
This is a hidden gem of a Brewery Tasting Room in Downtown San Diego. The drinks are ice cold and delicious. Food is spectacular! Go for the Pizza and you will not be disappointed. They just began serving liquor, giving valuable option to those who don't like beer. Staff is always friendly and great with service! Nick and Keegan have always taken care of my tables and have yet to disappoint ! If you have a good time, buy them a drink!

Yelp
A solid brewery with some pretty good beers. I went with the flight of four for $10, the Belgian Dubble & Power Play IPA were my favorites out of the four, the Sour Wheat, & Fiesta Island Pils were both pretty good as well. I like this location of this place, there's a long stretch of street parking near by & they're also a little less than a half mile aways from Modern Times brewery so you have some options if either place is too busy for your liking. The brewery is well spaced out as well, inside there's bar seating, some high tables along the wall with lots of standing room in the center. A few TVs to watch & some board games. Outside is fairly large with some picnic benches & corn hole boards. This place is another great addition to the San Diego brewery scene, I look forward to coming back next time I'm in town to check out their other beer options.

Yelp
I hosted a fundraiser on the outdoor patio here for my Young Democrats club. All the staff here were so nice and made my event planning very easy. The beers and seltzers on tap were really good too. I'm not an IPA guy and there were still a lot of options for me. I would recommend this as an event venue to anyone without any hesitation and hope I can plan something here again.
google avatar

Yelp
Jucci Gang is a really solid hazy. Good place to go before a Seals/Gulls game. Easy walk back to the stadium, but park in the lot.

Yelp
I attended Bread and Cheese's 1 year anniversary party over the weekend and it was held at this brewery. I really like the open space and the outdoor area with community seating in the back. They even have cornhole here! I decided to try their specialty beer Bread and ScorCheesy IPA during this event. I'm not sure if they will have it all the time or if it was just available at the event, but it paired nicely with the grilled cheese sandwiches I had. I'm glad that they offer two sizes of beer, so I opted for the smaller portion. It was the perfect size for me, but you can even order cute beer flights! If you're thinking of checking this spot out, they allow you to bring your pets or kids here, which is pretty cool.
google avatar

Yelp
Some good beer options, nice staff, good atmosphere with games to be played! Loved the back game room when cold and outdoor space when 72 and hoppy

Yelp
Worst experience ever. Bought a $25 hat and it was stolen during our time there. When brought to management attention they did nothing to resolve. Do not buy merchandise or go to the facility it's a waste and workers are idiots.
google avatar

Michelle F.

Yelp
Bay City Brewing, the first brewery were I tried a Hazy IPA a few months back. Yum! We like visiting with friends as they have a nice outdoor area with plenty of seating and space for kiddos to run around. There's plenty of parking on site and on the street. Definitely a brewery worth checking out!

Yelp
Met a woman for a second date here Friday evening. I loved the energy of the place, there was enough things going on it kept the conversation interesting and the best part is it wasn't overbearingly loud so we didn't have to scream to hear one another. I also love how dog friendly the place is. Nothing makes me happier than having a plethora of pups to pet. :) I ordered a 1/2 pint of the Stout, Knight Rider. I'm glad I went with the 1/2 b/c it was a strong drink. I enjoyed the flavor, I'll definitely have a few more. My date ordered the pizza, All I remember was no red sauce and something about olive oil. It was absolutely amazing. I usually take pictures and post them with my reviews, but being on a date, my phone stayed in my pocket. :) I definitely recommend this place!!!

Yelp
If you're in the Midway area trying to hit up a few breweries, Bay City and Modern Times are walking distance from each other. The last time I was at Bay City, it was before a Gulls game. Located across the street from Valley View Casino Center, Bay City is the perfect place to grab a few beers with friends before any event you're going to at Valley View. Come early enough and you'll even get free street parking before an event! Put that parking money towards beer. My favorite beers of the night were the Power Play IPA, very well balanced, and the Grapefruit Radler, you could really taste the grapefruit. I would skip the Wired Device. If you're into stouts or coffee, definitely go for their Coffee IPA. I remember it being pretty enjoyable. Best part of the night was the service. It was such a nice change coming to Bay City on a non-game night, where the employees had more time to talk to you about your favorite types of beers, make recommendations, provide you with great service. Actually the service on game night was very impressive as well, just not as personable.

Yelp
I got lucky and was given an invite to a free beer party. Obviously that is not what it was called but it is one of the main reason I showed up! I tried out a lovely IPA that did the job and was full of flavor. The staff are really nice which is awesome. They greeted me as I came and left, and they were quick to make sure I had a beer. Which we all know is sorta the point. They also have a large selection so there should be a beer here for almost anyone. If not, they also have a cute doggie who will come over and give you a dog smile. I swear it will! In all it was a good time, and while the location is a bit seedy, so are many of the thoughts you think in a day. So don't you judge! ;)

Yelp
Awesome brewery off of Rosecrans! The bartender was so friendly & the beers we had were delicious. They have a couple of televisions playing football & my favorite, Star Wars! Very spacious. Fun place to unwind. Experimental Pale Ale: Good. San Diego Pale Ale: Delicious!

Bob D.

Yelp
Awesome Beers excellent staff very friendly and caring The best Brewery in San Diego

Yelp
I have tried a few different breweries in the last month or so to help support local businesses and must say this has been my favorite. Tried the Peninsula Lager and the 72 and Hoppy, both were delicious. I especially love the hint of citrus in the 72 and Hoppy IPA. Ordering online was a breeze and the no contact pickup was just a smooth. You just drive up to their outside tent to pickup your order. Will be back again.

Yelp
This place is awesome! My coworkers and I came here before the Gull's game and grabbed a few drinks! I got the grapefruit beer thing and it was sooooo good! I wish I could remember the actual name! This place filled up very quickly for a Friday night and we literally came at the perfect time. The place is very spacious and has a back portion with two taps and a front portion with many beer selections. They also have a outside back area with a decent amount of seating. My only complaint is that some people were standing in line for beer while others just came up to the counter so I'm not entirely sure how it works out. It gets a little crowded in there and there was a line out the door to get in as we left. Overall this place was great, staff was kind and friendly, atmosphere is fun, and great beers on tap!

Yelp
This place was ok. Stopped by on a Sunday at 4. There were a few other people in the join watching the chargers game which they had on their single tv. Which is ok. I don't expect tvs is breweries anyways. The bartender was nice. They were doing flights and whatnot. They have a big clear brewing area which was very tidy. As well as an outdoor patio which faces the 8. Which I don't love. Ver spacious though. We ordered a few cold brews on nitro. They were interesting. I liked it but my friends weren't huge fans. We also ordered a round of session IPAs. I thought they were very mediocre. If I return again by chance I'll have to give some of their other beers a try. I'm not going to give them a crappy rating just cuz i only tried one beer. But based on decor, service, and overall coolness and the standard in the industry I'm giving it 3.
google avatar

Yelp
First off, we loved our bartender. She was awesome and we loved her! She was cool, informative, funny and extremely hospitable. Cheers to her in making our first visit memorable. We tried a few flights to get a good feel of the beers here. Most of them were really good to our surprise. Usually at breweries there are a few favorites and some which are okay. Here were some of our favorite pours: Pog Radler, Sour Wheat, Peel Better, Vienna Lager and the Sour Brown. Bay City is officially at the top of our list for fav San Diego Breweries.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in because it was between my hotel and the job. In an area of car repair and other auto supplier of used parts. The parking is not optimum until after 5:00 PM as per the guy pouring. No spots in the lot until the businesses close and even street parking is not likely near the place until the 5:00 bewitching hour. Only tried the stout but it was good. Ample room for tastings if you can park! K d off the beaten path but worth a look see.
google avatar

Megan N.

Yelp
I have to start by saying I have never been here before but that will be changing after stay at home orders are lifted! Bay City truly knows how to win the heart of an emergency department nurse! A few weeks ago after clocking out from a long night shift each staff member took home a six pack donated from Bay City! So much generosity and kindness is shown by this donation from a local business to a local hospital. Not only did I appreciate the gesture, the beer was damn good! Stay safe San Diego, we are all in this together
google avatar

Kevin O.

Yelp
Tucked away in the Sports Arena area, this is a good little brewery that looks and feels like a brewery, not beer Disneyland Beers are quite good including the nicely hoppy Pale Ale which was VERY good. Filled a growler work the Pale Ale to bring home and continue to enjoy.
google avatar

Alyse H.

Yelp
We stopped by before a concert for a quick flight of beers. We tried a few different IPA's, two of which were hazy, and a pale ale. I was impressed by how good they all were. Even though the brewery is located right off the highway and it's very noisy, they have a nice patio with comfortable lounge chairs and they try to drown out the traffic with cool California jams. There is a ton of parking right outside the brewery, which is an anomaly when it comes to San Diego. When we were done with our flight, we walked out to a car that wouldn't start. Ryan, the bartender, offered to jump our car. He broke out the jumper cables and our car was ready to go. Thank you Ryan!! You saved our night!!

Yelp
Wasn't planning on checking this place out but we were in the area and had some time to kill so we were like, why not? There was just a few people when we came in on a Thursday. They have a small parking lot out front but there's also plenty of street parking if there's no spots available. Bay City is pretty big, they have a lot of open space plus there's an outdoor area with lawn chairs and cornhole! Seems like a nice setup for a sunny day. I don't remember seeing any heaters, which would be nice to have especially since it's now December and the nights are chillllyyy. But then again, maybe they do have some n I just didn't see! Their tap list isn't large, but I assure you the brews are great. They offer flights of 4 for $10, which my bf and I shared. A female bartender was helping us out (I didn't get her name but I wish I did!) and made us a few recommendations. We went with the sour wheat, sour brown (which she described as having a balsamic vinaigrette taste), Martin scorhazy, and wired device. That last one is a nitro made with Bird Rock coffee so for all you Bird Rock fans out there, try wired device!! Another brew with coffee was the Coffee Pale Ale and I must say, this one was the highlight of our visit. I could probably drink this one every morning instead of a regular cup of coffee. I was expecting the sour wheat to be very sour since the bartender said it was like a lemon warhead, but it wasn't too sour to me. They have some board games and a few decks of cards at the bar that you can use. As we were leaving, we were also told that we could bring dogs next time since they're dog friendly!!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by here to pick up a growler on my way to a dinner party in San Diego. I was able to call and ask some questions before hand. This place is definitely cozy. Lots of seating with an outside area in the back. Even though they were packed, ordering and getting the growler was not at all a hassle. The staff were helpful in making the selection. And the Pale Ale was very delicious. Not too hoppy. Easy to drink and enjoy at home fresh from the tap. Next time I come down, I'll have to stop by and sit-in for a beer.
google avatar

Yelp
Located in what can be best be described as an industrial strip. Pretty large place with a good sized patio. Seems we came on an off night as this place really caters to the sports crowd (there's an arena nearby). The staff was friendly enough and there is a large wall of dog photos.
google avatar

Courtney O.

Yelp
Wow! This is such a sick spot. First of all, it's got indoor and outdoor space and lots of it. The outdoor patio is so spacious and there's cornhole. We had a big end of year party for work here and it was a lot of fun. The space was perfect for all of us to fit and move around comfortably. We also got to eat food from one of their delicious food trucks. The beer itself is pretty good. Maybe not Ballast quality but still good! Staff was super friendly and fun! Loved it here and would love to come back again. Ample parking in the lot and along the streets nearby.
google avatar

Yelp
Best Beers before a fun hockey game What a fun place to kick back, chill with friends and have some BEER! This place has been awesome! I've been heer a couple of times with my sweetheart and absolutely loved the atmosphere. It's really a chill environment. All staff is attentive and extremely polite. Being so close to popular events it's an excellent meeting spot. It has open seating indoor and outdoor including a big bar with an great view of brewery operations. On several occasions I've had the delicious Belgium dubble ale but on my last visit I discovered the magnificent Nitro Irish Red which went down smoothly and hit the spot. If you are looking for a fun time you and are interested in a fun brewery experience you need to stop by this fun spot.
google avatar

Yelp
For a while I just thought of this place as that brewery near the stadium, but with the exit of the Chargers there has been an uptick in Gulls support meaning Bay City is benefiting greatly. You are lucky to find parking in their lot which (protip: connects on both sides, though spots are still very limited) If you are lucky enough to snag parking you just saved $15 from parking at the Arena during games and so many people overflow the street parking behind the stadium it's almost worth it. Having that sort of corner spot you can't really tell how big it is. Having a sectioned off brewing space, instead of just roped off during tasting hours, doesn't seem to diminish their productivity having more than a dozen beers, 30 feet of bar, multiple pos and a bigger than expected outdoor patio. They even have a healthy amount of TV's, but expect a 15 minute wait before games. Their menu set up is based on categories of price, not strength, takes a second to figure out ABV vs. price. Beers are cold and they keep to very parametered stylings. Nitro red is so crushable and they move through a few beers quickly, but have their staples and seasonals. Staff is pretty good when they get on a roll and they are moving through a lot of beers in their rush hours. It's more calm outside of those periods, but still a healthy amount of locals. It's not really in competition with anyone as there are no other breweries nearby, it's got a nice and secluded spot. 3-10 most nights is built for the local blue collar crowd instead of the pure destination brewery. Food trucks on schedule, but they definitely need more trash cans.

Yelp
A friend and I decided to go before a Gulls game on Saturday and had no idea what to expect. It's a pretty good sized location, with room both inside and outside, some seating and they had two food vendors there as well. You can get 8oz or 16oz pours depending on what you feel like. Prices vary on style which makes sense. Dog and kid friendly as well as there are picnic tables outside too. I went with the Sin Ship which was an 8.6% ABV Baltic Porter. Super smooth, and dangerous for a Porter. I downed it pretty quickly so I decided to try a lighter beer the next round. Peel Better (Wit Beer) was quite tasty with a little bit of an orange after taste that worked. There were a ton of Gulls fans at the location before the game too, so that works too. For a good place to grab a beer near the Sports Arena, this is the place.
google avatar

Patrick Y.

Yelp
We go here before and sometimes after we go watch the San Diego Seals (San Diego's pro lacrosse team) at the Sports Arena). The Lager is my favorite. Really excellent!! Wish they had food there but there are places nearby for that. Staff really knows their brew and really a nice place to have some great beer!!!
google avatar

Sireesha R.

Yelp
I had no idea this brewery existed until my coworker mentioned we meet up here before the Gulls game. Now, I think I'll be coming here before every game/concert I attend at Valley View Casino! Me and my coworkers drove down after work and found street parking right in front! Perfect for walking over after a pint or two. My first drink was the Roast-face Killah which was superb! A coffee flavored porter with the perfect amount of coffee flavor. I got the hazy IPA as well which was a nice change after the heavy porter. It got pretty packed after we finished our first drink but the staff was super efficient in getting everyone's order. There's a back space with cornhole but we didn't venture out there since it was drizzling. Can't wait to come back and try more beers!
google avatar

Dimitri R.

Yelp
Visited on a Tuesday night and was not busy at all. Beer server did say it gets busy on nights of Gulls games though, which I'm sure can be fun! You have choice to sit in patio area (plenty of seating and some games) or inside with a beautiful view. There is a chalk board with upcoming events inside so don't forget to check that out! Between 3 flights (4 4oz pours for $10) we tried 11 out of 17 available beers. My favorites were Haze Against the Machines IPA (super hazy), 72 and Hoppy Session IPA, Bay City Pale Ale and Coffee Pale Ale. Even got to enjoy sports on their big TVs while tasting. Great vibe, great beer. Parking may be only issue as the lot is small and used for surrounding businesses M-F 9am-5pm. There is street parking though.
google avatar

Rogelio S.

Yelp
Great brewery with a convenient location if you are making a trip to sports arena. I came here after checking out a spot near by. Hours stated 10PM closing time and staff was very friendly when we arrived at 9:30. They are dog friendly. I noticed a gang of people showed up after 10 and service was still up beat. About the beer, the Belgian Dubbel was my fav, followed by the Belgian non-dubbel, the Vienna lager was ok and the red was horrendous. The red had no flavor and I just can't describe the flavor but def not a good beer. The set up inside is great. Cheers!
google avatar

Nam N.

Yelp
Bay City is just a hop-skip-jump-away from me and I like to duck in from time to time for their Belgian Dubbel - a dark amber ale. Of their offerings, it's my fav!! It's a cute spot, not too large but quite airy. It has a beachy-vibe to it and like many breweries, puppy friendly! And their Staff have always been helpful and friendly. Why just 3 stars? Their other brews are ok for me but once they start offering a few more varieties that tickle my fancy, I'll def bump them up.

Yelp
Found this place through Yelp and decided to try it out. We love the atmosphere of this brewery, it's very laid back and relaxed. The outdoor seating can get a little loud since it's right by the freeway, but it's still an awesome place to hang out and enjoy the weather! Now to the beers, we bought a flight and of the 5 our favorite was Jucci Gang. Definitely a brewery worth visiting and coming back to!
google avatar

Mo A.

Yelp
I have been coming to Bay City for a while now and decided it was time to give them their dues. Even with a head brewer change, Bay City's beers are still some of the best in San Diego. Their IPA's and Pale's are among my top 10. Their atmosphere is inviting and laid-back. Stop here before a Gull's game and the brewery is packed and full of energy. It's also a great spot to host events as they have ample space for all kinds of events. My husband and I hosted our rehearsal lunch here and was able to bring in the food truck we wanted and keep everyone happy with Bay City's variety of beer. The beertenders are friendly and knowledgeable. All in all a great brewery with a great atmosphere.
google avatar

Derek L.

Yelp
Great spot with a relaxing setting for a happy hour or any other time beer! We stopped in on a weekday evening and really love this place. It wasn't too busy which was nice and allowed us open choice on seating. The bartender was extremely friendly and helpful and checked in several times while we were there. They have a good selection of beers and they even have an option to take home a 32oz can of anything they have on tap and they'll can it right in front of your eyes. As far as the location, it's somewhat tough to get to but once you find it it's nice and away from the busy Midway bustle. The outdoor seating is nice but just keep in mind you're right next to the freeway so it's not particularly quiet. Their indoor seating is spacious and plentiful. Overall, would totally recommend a stop in here for a happy hour drink or any other occasion!
google avatar

Linda D.

Yelp
I love beer! And I love that San Diego has so many great places that offer up craft beer. I found this place by accident while driving around trying to find a UYE in the area. So I bookmarked it and came back. This place offers up a selection of craft brews. I really liked the Coffee Pale Ale. The have indoor and outdoor seating areas. What really stood out was the clean crips atmosphere. The womans restroom was neat with the walls covered in Craft Brew News clippings. The also have foodie trucks here on occasion to serve up food. Pricing is fair and competitive to other breweries.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I visited Bay City Brewing while visiting San Diego recently. We visited on a Friday night and the brewery was bustling. Tanner, one of the bartenders, assisted us with beers and made great recommendations. He noticed while checking my ID that my birthday was the day before and hooked me up with a beer on him...win! Thanks, Tanner! We enjoyed our beers on the outdoor patio. The outdoor patio has picnic benches and games. We loved all the dogs (it's dog friendly)! If we lived in the area we would definitely come back here with our pup!
