Add Bay Grape to your must-visit list the next time you're in Napa. Whether you have time to sit and enjoy a bottle or glass, or just enough time to browse their impressive collection to take a bottle home, Bay Grape is worth a stop.
The service here is phenomenal. We were warmly welcomed by owners Stevie, Josiah and their sweet pup Napoleon. Stevie and Josiah make wine tasting fun, accessible and very chill.
Bay Grape is first and foremost a wine shop with bottles as affordable as $15, going up in price to $300 and beyond. It's great to have a wide selection that can fit any budget. You can pop open a bottle to enjoy onsite or take it home with you. If you do decide to enjoy some wine at the shop, you can also purchase crackers, cheese, meats and other charcuterie items a la carte.
Bay Grape hosts a different micro winery each week, showcasing different wines you can buy by the glass or bottle. It's a great way to discover smaller producers.
We visited Bay Grape for the first time last night to enjoy the blind tasting experience with a friend. For $25 a person, you get two whites, two reds and a blind tasting guide. On one side of the paper are questions to help you assess the wine and call your attention to what you see, smell and taste. On the other side of the paper are the red and white wine lists showing the bank of possible right choices. It's a fun experience to do whether you're a seasoned blind taster or if it's your first time. Blind tastings are offered Monday nights, but you can contact the owners to book private blind tasting classes and experiences outside of the usual Monday night schedule.
We'll definitely be back!
