A fantastic hidden gem, just a minute off the A6 between Lancaster and Garstang. The pub is a beautiful mix of old and new. The menu was fantastic, offering interesting and thoughtful dishes. The bar was well stocked with ale, good wine and plenty of other choices. The service was excellent too. It also had a beautiful beer garden. We'll definitely be back.

Stayed at the Lancaster Barn and ate here two nights running. The team at the Bay Horse are wonderful, so accommodating and professional. The menu has been thoughtfully planned and is executed brilliantly, it's absolutely the style of food we love eating. It's the third time we've eaten here on visits and we will definitely be back! If you're in the area we'd highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely lovely pub, let us in early before opening and the burger was so tasty, pints are affordable and the most gorgeous beer garden, service was so lovely too

Fabulous dinner. Nicola was well organised. She seated 40 hockey players for 2 and 3 course dinners. Everything was fabulous. Definitely recommend.

One of the best places for a dinner or a weekend lunch in Lancaster area. Cosy rooms with fireplaces, good size function room, and beautiful garden with views to the fields. Very friendly staff, dogs are allowed.

Went for a romantic meal for my birthday, totally ruined by being so close to the table behind , all i could hear was a conversation about how vagrants die in Canada and what a horrible death it was, this went on for over a good hour, not what you want to hear at the dining table. Felt like i was sat on their table it was so close.

My friend and I stumbled across this lovely inn this afternoon, and decided to pop in for some lunch. What a wonderful experience! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, especially in this cold weather. We ordered the lentil pie and truffle burger which were divine. Our waitress was most hospitable and took great care of us. Highly recommend! 8.5/10 We will be back Bay Horse Inn!!

Visited a couple of weeks ago for lunch. Neither of us had been but we both thoroughly enjoyed it. The food really is yummy! Would definitely visit again and recommend it 🙂

This is a pub with the emphasis very much on food. More expensive than the usual run of the mill bar food it has an adventurous menu more befitting a restaurant than a pub, an example main course is Slow cooked Goosnargh duck, potato puree, marinated prunes and Madeira sauce. I had a melt in the mouth fillet of beef served with wonderful chunky chips but it was let down by an over salted peppercorn sauce. I would go back again though as hopefully the sauce was just a one off error. No food Sunday evening and closed all day Monday.

Absolutely great food pub. We weren't expecting anything like fancy gastro pub food, and it totally exceeded our expectations. The food was great, well presented, well executed and well thought. Dishes are not classic pub dishes, and if they are they have that additional detail and twist that distinguish them. The staff is very friendly and attentive and you can also get a tour of the microbrewery if you ask!

We've been here twice and the food was excellent each time. I had fillet steak which was pricey but worth it. Small but comfy pub and with reasonable staff. We're going again next week so lets hope nothings changed!

I had the pleasure of eating here one evening, last month. Its very hard to fault the Bay Horse Inn, hence why its picked up so many awards in the last 10 years and had people like Alex Ferguson eat there. This all comes at a price however! Nothing too scary though and if your looking to impress or you have an event planned and would like it in cozy, peaceful surroundings the Bay Horse will no doubt fit the bill nicely.

That's a classic inn restaurant not reachable without any private transportation. I've been once for a lunch at noon, whom I found high prices with mediocre tasty food. I can't imagine dinner prices. The service was quite slow, though there were a few people at that time. Ordered a shank of lamb and found side vegetables, mashed parsnip better than the meat with ale gravy sauce.
