3 Delicious Culinary Adventures in Canada’s Fields, Forests, and Bays

"On a three-day sea kayaking expedition through a Fundy archipelago, guides prepare beach fry-ups of local asparagus, garlic rice and sizzling salmon—including maple‑glazed fillets cooked on bonfire embers—followed by campfire stories, stargazing and sleeping on the beach. Mornings bring hearty breakfasts (eggs and bacon) and paddling among 25 mostly uninhabited, biodiverse islands where puffins, eagles, porpoises, seals and a dozen species of whales feed; paddlers also experience the world’s highest tides and, when near Campobello Island, can see Eastport, Maine, a perspective shared by lead guide and co‑owner Mike Carpenter." - Darcy Rhyno

I had a friend visiting me that pushed me out of my comfort zone to try the sea kayaking tour. It was an absolute blast. The two guides did a great job with the pre-kayaking safety talk. They were very helpful in ensuring that everyone was comfortable and safe in their kayaks. They helped to launch us and put on our skirts to keep the water out of our kayaks. What an amazing experience!!! I highly recommend it. I felt comfortable and safe even though there were some wave swells. Timing is everything we were back safe and sound before the thunderstorm hit Saint Martins.

We took the St Martins Sea caves half days kayaking tour. It was a fantastic tour. The tour guides were very knowledgeable about the area and the equipment was top-notch. The tour began with a instruction and safety demonstration. So even people with no kayaking experience can do this tour. It is also a very fun and exciting tour for people that are seasoned kayakers. It really was suitable for anyone. I would definitely recommend this tour. And if we had more time, we probably would have done one of their longer tours.

A perfect day out on the water with the family! Nick and Shawn we amazing! The description was ‘easy’ and it was exactly that so we could enjoy the surrounding beauty. We had been told how beautiful St Martins is and it lived up to its reputation! We hit a luck with the weather. Definitely recommended this on your adventure list!

The best possible way to explore the Bay of Fundy. Liz and Sean were amazing guides who made the kayaking fun, and they also gave us lots of interesting information about the unique ecology of the area. It is also worth showing up early and having a coffee/pastry at the Shipyard Cafe and a lobster roll at Spinney's which are right up the road!

Fantastic kayak tour around the caves in the Bay of Fundy. Absolutely beautiful. Our guides were knowledgable, capable, friendly and helpful. We would definitely book with them again. I was a bit anxious beforehand but left wanting to buy a kayak.🙂 The salmon, cheese, crackers and cucumber snack they prepared on the shore was delicious and a super nice addition.

Excellent kayaking experience with Bay of Fundy adventures. It was such an exhilarating experience to kayak through the St. Martin's sea caves. Our kayak instructor and guide was amazing. It's so beautiful out there. It's breaktaking to experience the high and low tides in one day and how the caves are visible at high and low tides. Amazing experience.

Ok, so finding the right words for this is tough. Upon arrival we were approached and asked if we are part of the tour. We said yes and were checked in. Once everybody arrived we got life vests, the thing to prevent the kayak from filling with water and we got instructions on what to do and what not. We go out and we started getting used to the kayaks. The tide is still coming in by the way at this point. The Kayaks are great quality by the way and really easy to maneuver. They handle well in water and in waves. I was never afraid of topping over. Shortly into our trip the rudder of the kayak failed and needed repairs. Nick repaired the rudder from his Kayak, which was amazing. We continued on and went around the Bay and got a small history lesson. Super interesting! Then we turned around and went into a small open cavern. We got out of the kayaks and were offered a snack. The snack was local cheese, local smoked trout, local everything, except the crackers. The snacks were suuuper yummy. We went on eventually and backed into a cave. The sight from inside the cave is amazing. On our way back we had a few more waves and had a generally pleasant trip in general. Nick is an amazing person and suggested a few more sight seeing spots later on. He's passionate and very caring and he tried to keep everybody engaged. We will come back here and do a multi day trip next time.

We went for the kayaking tour and had an amazing experience! The care and expertise of the guides helped with our confidence on the water. The views are SPECTACULAR and unable to be seen from land. Great surprises along the way. Full 5⭐️ Activity, highly recommend.
