They are slightly enjoyable people. I like visiting, spending time with their bear, and appreciate receiving a fun tour. I wish for the bear to receive plenty of attention, for an inviting environment educated in diversity, limited sorority exposure, slight stadium experience, they would follow up well with all contacts, and provide more field of study guidance. 🐻 🏟️ 📚

Extremely nice people at the campus welcome center! They really made me feel good about being on campus and were very friendly. Very nice folks in the Spirit shop too. We purchased tons of Baylor gear for our nephew and also for us.

Well maintained. Very clean and good place to walk around

Great place to study. Christian faith from the door until you graduate. An excellent school for faith, academics, internships, concerts, sports, and many more, just to name the top 5.

I have visited Baylor several times. It is a beautiful campus. I love walking around looking at the trees, buildings and sculptures. I have an aunt who worked here and cousins who attended here. They all have wonderful stories and are truly dedicated to and love this school. Makes me wish I could have attended college here. I was sad it was too hot for the bears to be out and about today. #sicembears

Google
What a stunning campus! We are here today to celebrate my daughter's receipt of the Invitation to Excellence scholarship. As a parent, I am truly captivated by this remarkable campus. She now faces a difficult choice regarding which college to attend, and I can’t help but hope she chooses this one.

Visited Mayborn Museum on Baylor University campus Waco, TX. Fun museum with many hands-on exhibits. Professionally staff, educational space for kids.

Yelp
I came with my daughter for our campus visit all the way from California. I must say if you come for a campus visit by appointment they will roll out the red carpet for you. I won't tell you everything they do to keep it a surprise but it'll probably be your nicest college tour. Baylor was a beautiful campus and looks to be an amazing place to go to college. My daughter is still making her decision but very impressed with Baylor.

Yelp
I was at Baylor and was struck by its beauty. There are magnificent live oak trees everywhere. The architecture of buildings is breathtaking. I was simply moved by the beauty of the place. This is homecoming weekend so the preparations were underway and there was an air of excitement. I was able to find parking behind the student center, which was free!!! We had really good food; my only surprise was that, in this Southern town, the tea was not sweet!! I took a stroll around the campus when we had a break, but trust me, it was a mere sliver of the campus. I was really interested in learythe history of this university. What I was snke to learn was that it is the largest Baptist university in the country. I took a few pictures but I really wish I could have taken more. Beautiful place!!

Yelp
Came here for family weekend. It's a great school to visit with lots of history. Great sports teams, science department, and business classes.

Yelp
Baylor University is a very nice campus to visit. The Mayborn Museum and Texas Sports Hall of Fame are located here. One of the few campuses where located next to a river while McLane Stadium makes this campus stand out while driving on I-35. After our visit of the Mayborn Museum we ventured off to find the bear pen. After following directions we found it and parked in front. Here we saw Joy & Lady relaxing in the Bill & Eva Williams Bear Habitat. One was sleeping but the other walked around and drank water. They originated from Oregon and are medium sized brown bears. There are signs to not bring pets here. From here you can walk to campus centerpiece Rosenbalm Fountain and circle around to enjoy his beautiful campus. Back at bear habitat you can walk along Waco Creek below. Before leaving made sure to see and take photos of Pat Neff Hall with its magnificent colonial architecture.

Yelp
Visited Baylor with my son today, really impressed! Really nice wide-open feel to the campus (which is located on a river : ). The science and business buildings were particularly new and impressive. Campus is spread out, with a 2.5 mile walking/running trail around campus. I was also encouraged by the front and center placement of Christianity in their presentation and in the student leaders. Go Bears!

Yelp
I didn't get a chance to tour the inside of this gorgeous campus, but viewing the outside structure up close is a fun tour all on its' own. This review will be based solely on the exterior or the campus. Many people associate Baylor University with their incredibly skilled athletics team, and more specifically; their breakout athlete Robert Griffin lll. Chartered in 1845, Baylor University is one of the first and oldest operating universities. It's campus spans over 1,000 acres in size and it is hailed as the largest Baptist University in the world! The architectural structure of the campus is phenomenal! From the newly constructed McLane Stadium to the beautiful Baylor bridge that crosses over the Brazos River; you are sure to endure an eye full of beauty while walking along this campus! The University is set upon the Brazos River where you can enjoy the stunning waterfalls while relaxing on the amphitheater. While I was there, I witnessed a few people paddling their boats on the river and walking their dogs over the bridge. Across the Baylor bridge, you will see the enchanting Law Center. There is a path that is rightfully named the "Bear Walk" where you will find the names of many graduates inscribed on placards in the concrete. But perhaps the most popular landmark here, aside from the enthralling McLane Stadium, is the memorial statue of Robert Griffin lll. This stunning replica of Baylor's diamond jewel features a life sized statue of Robert in his all too familiar stance. It is accompanied by a glass wall that lists all of his athletic stats and achievements as well as a self portrait. I would encourage anyone to visit the campus, even if it's only to view the exterior. Get inspired, and experience the legend that is Baylor University!

Yelp
Visited Baylor University to learn more about their PreMed Physician Assistant Program. #SicEmBears We went for the complete and total experience. Stayed two nights. We attended their sold-out annual "SING" event!! That was an incredible experience! The next day we walked 5 miles, climbed over 10 flights of stairs and traveled by golf cart to complete this 9 hour tour. We arrived at 8am and our tour didn't end until 5pm. We visited their Health Science Center, Business & Finance Building, Financial Aid Advisor (highly recommend an appointment), stood inside the McLane Stadium, saw two different types of dorms and much more!! What a day. This college is so school spirited, Christian driven, and rich in history. If it's a fit it's an excellent, safe and beautiful campus.

Yelp
Great university. I love their Christian background and perspective. My son attended here and we're so glad he was able to attend a Christian university.

Yelp
The financial aid office is a major disappointment. Incompetent employees who do not listen to the situation before giving a response, nor do they spend anytime investigating. They are a fraud and I recommend if you need any financial assistance, do not attend this school.

Yelp
First I need to state that I am not and was not a student at Baylor. My review and experiences are based on visiting the campus as a "Bear-in-law" with my wife, class of 2007. Baylor catches your eye as soon as it comes into view driving on I-35. The whole campus is composed of classic brick building with small steeples and towers protruding into the subdued skyline. I loved touring the campus with my wife and taking in the sights and sounds of a vibrant college campus. One thing that I feel makes the campus especially walkable and visually appealing is the prolific use of parking garages. Baylor utilizes attractive brick multi-level parking garages to offer ample parking while at the same time condensing the size of campus and thereby avoids the creation of asphalt wastelands. Our last trip was during Homecoming 2014 weekend. The whole campus was decorated with signs and murals for the occasion. We attended some of the weekend events, and especially enjoyed the Friday night which included a pep rally followed by fireworks and a massive bonfire.

Yelp
My daughter will be starting her junior year at Baylor and it's hard to believe that it's been several years since we first set eyes on this beautiful campus! As a parent you start saving for your kid's education early on if you're smart. For it is an investment like anything else. Oftentimes you imagine your child winning scholarships to the best schools in the nation....striving for quality...etc. and maybe you have in mind a school that you would love for them to attend..I guess that was me. Because growing up with a college professor as a father it was driven into your makeup that education was important and quality education especially... Knowing that if you work hard enough at anything in life and have focus and discipline you can achieve your dreams! When my daughter was in her junior year in high school, she had several schools on her list as many kids do as they start thinking about life after high school. My daughter has always been a high achiever and I knew wherever she ended up it would be a good place. Perhaps Rice University? Bringing her there as a little girl I always envisioned her attending this outstanding school! With the best and the brightest! Often known as the "Harvard of the South" Rice itself has a beautiful campus with a long colorful history and tradition! Maybe UT? Where her cousins are going...it's always good to have family close by right? Maybe Texas A & M? A great school and conservative...which I liked. So when a friend whose son was attending Baylor encouraged us to go to a spring premiere in my daughter's junior year we tagged along not knowing what to expect. It was a full day of experiencing Baylor for prospective students and an opportunity to see the campus and meet students and faculty members. Being my first trip to Waco, I was very impressed! I was totally won over by the beauty of the campus and the positive feeling of the student volunteers and faculty members that I met. Encouraged by our friend to apply although the tuition was daunting but generally reasonable for a private university...she continued to tell us that generous scholarships were offered to exceptional students but to apply early before all the resources were exhausted. We took her advice and sure enough my daughter got the best scholarship they offered...next to a full ride! After doing the math my wife and I agreed that it was doable and left the ball in our daughter's court. I don't think she had to think too long and too hard and her decision was made. After experiencing 2 years of Baylor and Waco; as a parent, I must say the school is everything you would expect a great university to be! The facilities are amazing! And the feeling you get when you walk around the campus is indescribable. One of feeling your child is in a good place and getting connected in a christian environment that encourages excellence! Deciding on a school for your child can be stressful but I must say in this case it felt so right. So for those parents who have given Baylor a thought I would say visit the campus during one of the fall or spring premieres and meet the student volunteers and faculty members and ask questions. Also soak in the beauty of the Baylor campus....especially the new stadium, science building, student life center and the amazing Armstrong Browning Library! I guarantee you will walk away impressed! A great buy with great scholarships!

Yelp
This isn't a review for the school, it is for the campus. Yes, compare to UT, A&M, Baylor is tiny. However, unlike UT, where the city is mixed within the university, unlike A&M, where the university is isolated from the rest of the city, Baylor is in between. Again, I'm not dissing any of those three schools, they all have their own charm. Come out and take a walk around the campus and make your own judgment. BTW, Baylor's Armstrong Browning Library is amazing, you should stop by and take a look.

Yelp
Baylor is a great university. Some of my greatest memories in life are from my time here. I have no reservations suggesting this school to anyone considering it. There might be decisions made by administrators that you aren't crazy about, but I do believe in the long run they will help build upon the value of my degree. The school has indeed come a long way for the better since my days in school. Lately, my pride level has gone up in regards to Baylor sports. Our Men's & Women's Basketball teams have improved in the last few years on a National level and our football team has been doing awesome. I just hope it continues and gets even better.

Yelp
Baylor University was everything a college experience should be and more... Academics are top notch. The professors passionately care about the students and are dedicated to their success. Not only do they place extra effort in the classroom, many will get to know you outside the classroom. Whether inviting the class over to their home for brunch, going skiing on their boat, or just sitting down chatting about life over a beer... they are the most approachable and of the highest caliber of all the schools I've attended. Get involved! Baylor has a strong Greek system along with a plethora of student organizations to become involved with. Whether you go to Baylor or somewhere else, get involved! The leaderships opportunities along with the opportunity to make new friends all makes for an incredibly positive college experience. And, of course, it's fun to be involved. The friends you'll make will be with individuals of the highest caliber. Mom was right, who you hang around with has an influence on you will become. So Moms, rest assured, the students at Baylor University are the people you want your sons and daughters to be friends with. The education I received at Baylor prepared me for real-world success. I've been lucky to have had the chance to attend such a great university. Thank you, Baylor, for everything.

Yelp
I was accepted to Baylor as a transfer student and began researching everything I needed to know. I made sure everything was in order so that it would be an easy transition upon arriving. Since I was placed on some waiting list for payments because of financial aid, I was stuck going to orientation the week before classes started and on move-in day. Up to the day before we went down to Waco, I was told that I had been assigned to a dorm room and that I didn't need to worry about tuition as my scholarships and financial aid would cover everything except my books and maybe the meal plan. I arrived for orientation and a man working at the registration check-in was rude to my mom and I. He said he wouldn't be helping me and called someone else over. I received my bag with a book assignment for the school year along with other information. I was asked what program I had been accepted into and was told where to go from there. I went to the assigned auditorium for the pre-health program and while the information was interesting, there were a few questions I wanted to ask but did not get to during the Q&A session. We were told to line up and that we could ask one question each. I lined up and the woman answering our questions skipped over another student and me. Both of us are minorities and we were the only ones that were skipped and ignored. We were told by the woman that she was done and that we could ask our advisors. I went to advising and signed up for classes. The advisor was very lovely and when I told her what happened, she said she knows about that woman and her attitude towards people not like her. We were going to lunch but someone recommended getting my student ID. I went and filled out a short form only to be told that I needed to get some paperwork from FA to prove that I could go ahead and get my ID picture taken. I went to FA and they wanted me to pay at least $3,000 then and there. I was not prepared for that. We were told to contact our bank and thankfully we had the money and paid it. Apparently, I was only going to be provided with most of the scholarships from FA if I did exceptionally well during my first semester and then it was all based on the rest of my time at Baylor. So if I kept my grades up and didn't mess up, my scholarships would kick in. Sherry or Sherryl was very rude and condescending towards me for not knowing this despite being in communication with FA the whole summer and never being told any of this. I have the e-mails to prove it. After all that trouble, we went to have my ID photo taken but decided to go get our lunch instead since the line for the ID was longer than before. We went to lunch and they were done. No lunch for us despite having the lunch ticket. We were hungry and not happy with how everything was turning out. I went to go see the dorm room and guess what? There was a mishap at the housing office and they did not have a room assignment for me. I was there and someone else had been assigned that room. I was given a list of hotels I could stay at and possible housing around campus. I showed them the letter and e-mails where I had been assigned a dorm room. After a stressful amount of waiting while someone found out what happened, they found me a dorm. However the roommate wasn't too happy because she was supposedly paying for a single dorm room. She didn't let me in and immediately went to complain about the situation. My family told me not to leave my belongings in the dorm because she might do something to them. We went to the bookstore and bought Baylor trinkets before heading over to get my ID photo and missed the information sessions in the afternoon because we were still trying to get everything situated. Something was going on with my information and I was sent back to the FA office where I was told that we needed to call back the bank. At this point, we have just about had it and an argument started between my mom and the FA people. Apparently, they don't accept money from our bank so they needed something from them and being the weekend that was not possible. It didn't make sense to us and they did not do a good job of explaining or showing us any of this in writing. My dad wasn't willing to use his credit card and found it strange that they couldn't accept our money when they were more than willing to accept it before. I returned my stuff to the bookstore and took off after the roommate called to threaten me. Baylor's response was for me to stay at a hotel or look for an apartment. It's unacceptable. Halfway back home, I received several calls and messages asking about me not being at orientation. They didn't sign me in and didn't believe I was there or what had happened. I have the bag and book. Almost a week later, I got somewhat of an apology. The bookstore staff and advisors were more understanding and showed more concern. I transferred and graduated from SMU instead. More scholarships and honesty.

Yelp
This review is just about the campus itself and not about the academics. I came to Baylor for a visit in October. The location of where it was was perfect the weather was great and not to hot and not too cold. The campus itself is beautiful with some buildings with great marble interior and amazing stain glass in one of the buildings. The campus is a medium sized university, but is totally walk able. the students seems too have a great university pride, everyone is wearing a Baylor shirt or gear. The campus as a whole was well put together and I would love to come visit again!

Yelp
Oh Baylor University. I was there for three years hoping that I could press on and actually start enjoying the 'Baylor experience' but I finally realized that it was not the place for me and transferred to University of Texas Austin. Baylor prides itself on being a private university and they brag about their small class sizes. Well, for the first two years I never witnessed these 'small classes' and had mostly lecture hall ones. Coming to UT, my classes are just like Baylor's with some small ones. I don't understand why I have to pay so much more for Baylor when the public school I am going to now has way more perks for students and a campus that matches Baylor's on looks. Also, I was hoping for a more diverse group at Baylor than what I encountered. Everything there was pretty one sided, which I guess it what you get at a Christian University. There wasn't a lot of wiggle room for 'radical' beliefs, such a gay marriage. Also, the Baylor bubble is very much a real thing and I was apart of a lot of volunteering events around the university where I was the only Baylor student in the group. I cannot recommend this university on a good conscience. If you go to Baylor and like it, great, but I know just as many people that have transferred out as they are fed up with the atmosphere.

Yelp
God's gift to Texas. :) I love my alma mater more than words can say--not only did I receive an incredible education here, but I fostered some of the most meaningful and lasting relationships with friends and professors alike. The campus is timelessly beautiful, impeccably maintained and cherished far and wide. Athletics teams continue to make names for themselves across the Big 12 and beyond. Baylor is deeply rooted in the history books, and continually paving the way for new grads everyday. I cherish my Baylor education endlessly--and am so grateful for the opportunity to have spent four years growing, being challenged, and finding myself here.

Yelp
I attended Baylor from 1992-1996 and had the time of my life! Academics were outstanding and I enjoyed almost every class I took. I found the student/teacher ratio very small and many of my professors actually took the time to sit down and talk with me about goals, dreams, what I wanted to be, and helped me achieve those dreams! Baylor prides itself on being a premier Christian institution and hopes that each student grows intellectually, socially, emotionally and spiritually. I grew in each of those areas and am thankful that I had my awkward college years spent there rather than at some school where I was a number. You can tell they really care about you. I am continually amazed at that (since I was at several schools for Master's and such). As for athletics, Baylor has top notch sports. We have the Lady Bears who won an NCAA championship, great baseball and softball teams, outstanding tennis, and great track and field. As for football, we are getting there! Best years of my life! Sic em Bears!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
lol ok now, I think its a little harsh to judge Baylor strictly online on the new president. Yes, not exactly the best choice, but it doesn't belittle all the other good things about the school. I went to Baylor for 4 years and loved it. Great academics, awesome extracurricular activities, nice campus...it was a great place to go. The only things I had a problem with was the tuition and they way the school wasted money. Now I knew the tuition was high before I went, so I dealt with it, its not like the high tuition came out of nowhere. But man does this school waste money. For instance, if it is raining outside like a monsoon, you do not need all the sprinklers on at the same time. So many times I would be walking in rain and the sprinklers would be on as well. I know its not a HUGE expense, but still, thats just dumb. Baylor also doesn't need to just SWAP out their flowers every so and so weeks. Around Pat Neff you would see yellow flowers for 2 weeks than walk to class one day and notice all of the sudden they were all pink and white or some other color. They change landscape like underwear, its ridiculous.

Yelp
Baylor is literally one of the best Christian universities! They have everything! The SUB food court is so convenient, with ChickFilA, Freshiii, Mooyah, Panda Express, and Einsteins. They also have many Starbucks! Yummy!!!!

Yelp
The staff responsible for hosting the prospective students tour were horribly organized. The staff I've spoken to about my application were dishonest.

Yelp
I'm currently in my Senior year at this school and man time has flew by. Personally, I feel that the school gets better ever year, pretty cool staff, great services on campus (dining halls, public resources, etc.) and a all around good atmosphere. This school isn't for everyone however, and for me as well, takes some time to get used too if you're a person from a larger (and less "country") city. Baylor has tons of stuff to do on campus throughout the semesters, but that's pretty much it in the recreational aspects while going here. There's a couple of movie theaters that are cool, and now a hookah bar but there's no Studio Movie Grills, Main Events, non country night clubs, etc (atleast of my knowledge) to do for fun while being here. The parties are also "so-so" here too, it really depends on who's hosting them I guess. These cons however, can be a positive in that you'll be able (or should be able) to get a lot of studying and work done in this quite town. The campus has plenty of shaded places and chairs to do homework in the outdoors and it's very peaceful. Are sports teams are also a beast! And our new stadium is pretty beautiful sitting out there by the Brazos. Overall, if you're a big party-goer or someone who loves having a lot of things to do outside of campus then this school may not be the one for you, unless you're willing to drive to Dallas or Austin during the weekends. If you are however looking for a pretty good (and challenging) education, in a more quite area for 4 years then this is the school for you. If you're in between, like I was, I'd say give the school a shot for a couple years to see if it grows on you, it did for me!

Yelp
My daughter is looking at colleges, and we showed up unannounced at the Baylor welcome center for a college tour. Absolutely flawless 'Texas Hospitality.' They set up a private tour right on the spot, gave her a free lunch ticket (and who says there is no free lunch?)... We toured the campus, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. I can't speak to Baylor as a university or college, but as an experience 'checking out colleges,' we were very very impressed. We even learned how to do a 'siccum' or whatever they call that weird bear thing!

Yelp
As a parent of a son who is getting ready to head off to college, I am so glad he went with his instincts after speaking to reps from several different universities & chose a different university than Baylor. I am so proud of him as he has worked hard to get to where he is at. I would have hated for him to start his career off wrong with a backing from Baylor who does not stand by what they are suppose to stand for. He is a smart kid & saw right through the politics at Baylor. Now that the football player (Zamora) beating the dog video has surfaced & Baylor is still allowing him to play for their team, I am even happier my son went in a different direction. I would not recommend this university to any1, if anything I would try to talk them out of attending Baylor because they are without morals or ethics!!!

Casey M.

Yelp
Graduated in 2004, great experience, wonderful instructors and awesome sports teams. The new stadium is amazing and they are continuously trying to create a better experience for their students. This is a school that cares about the students and their success. Sic Em Bears!

Yelp
This beautiful campus is located in the rapidly growing small city of Waco and conveniently right in between Dallas and Austin. The school's academics and athletic programs are each top rated, tier one entities. Baylor will give you the best bang for your buck compared to all other private universities. As an alumni, I'd definitely recommend this school to potential students looking for a uniquely fresh experience!

Yelp
The religion thing is a bit much for me. Classes are huge. I transferred in as a Junior with a 4.0 gpa and they refused to take a lot of my classes. I'm a 27 year old veteran and I feel incredibly out of place. This school is a lot like being back in high school. I can't wait to transfer out next semester.

Yelp
Beautiful campus, great school, and amazing faculty! I highly recommend picking Baylor to any incoming student and definitely urge someone passing through to go walk around the campus and learn about its history!

Yelp
I love Baylor!!! I've made such amazing friends here and I've loved every minute of it. The campus is so nice and the gym is quite impressive and the science and business buildings are beautiful!!! Waco may sound like an odd city but it is truly a hidden gem and there are lots of fun things to do with friends! I've had such a great experience here!

Yelp
Went here for my B.A. Degree and loved it! Good people...pretty campus... Excellent education.

Yelp
Baylor like UT? Never. While I am not a great fan of Baylor it is one of the most beautiful schools I have ever been to. There is a distinctive gap between Baylor and Waco, causing a nice little bubble around the school. Making it optional if you would like to be apart of Waco life. The class sizes are small, to the point I have a class size right now of 10 people for a Sophomore English. Although large classes can happen in the fall semesters, I have never had more than 110 people in a class and if I made an effort it still felt personal. While Baylor is a Christian school there is life beyond religion, and students are well aware of this fact. Some more than others perhaps. It might take some adjusting to if you are not use to this environment, my first year I felt miserable. But I quickly adapted during my second and am proud to be a Baylor Bear. Sic 'em Bears!

Yelp
Went to Baylor '97 to '01, graduated with a BA in Sociology (thank you Prof. Kay Mueller for being a great influence!) This is a beautiful campus. Yes, you may have to run from Old Main to the science building for classes, but it is a great experience. I had initally wanted to go to the other school on the Brazos (you know, the one that has maroon as it's color) but they kept losing my paperwork. My mom and I went here on day, talked to the admissions person, and within 30 minutes I was in. I was in the BIC (is that even still around?) That in itself was a wonderful experience. I was much older than those in my class (I was ex-military, so I was 23 when I started) but I was treated as a regular student and everyone was interested in hearing my experiences. The teachers are excellent and will take time to talk to you. I did have some classes in Hankhamer but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. One thing about Baylor is the parking. It's virtually non-existent unless you get there early. I had to leave my house an hour away at like 5 a.m. to get there to get parking. One nice thing is the student center. When I was there they had a Starbucks, a Dunkin Donuts, and a Chik-fil-a. I'd get me some donuts an coffee in the morning, and Chik-fil-a at lunch. Good stuff. Baylor is expensive since it is a private school. It is also a Baptist school so if you go, don't complain about them not agreeing with your views. I am Baptist so I had no problems but a lot of people I was in school with left because the felt that they were being frowned upon. Well, if you go to a school knowing what you are getting in to, don't complain. Thta was your decision and knew the ideas and philosophies. Sic 'Em!!

Beware of UNIVERSITY PARKS APARTMENTS - Student Housing. After our daughter's apartment flooded from the apartment above, though they found another room in a unit for her, they insisted she move on VERY short notice (which my husband or I could not help her move on such notice) and the staff would not help until we reminded them it was THEIR fault it happened in the first place. And even then, it took going to the President of the University's office to get any help with moving her. THEN, the wifi doesn't work! What???!!! How does Baylor's Student Housing expect students to achieve academic success when there is no internet? After her MULTIPLE attempts to get it resolved, she finds out the staff at University Parks hung up on the internet service when they tried to call to rectify the issue! We are paying for this service and not getting it! The administrative contact at University Parks Apartments is not cooperative nor seems to care! Bottom line, this housing location seemed top of the line when visiting, when in reality it is run by people who just don't care. Thank goodness she won't be there next semester!
