Great food. never tried Cambodian food before. it's pretty similar to Thai, but it has a distinct separate flavour. Really liked their main entree with pork. their pad Thai equivalent was a bit sour than usual pad Thai, but that's the traditional preparation. Loved the ambience there. Only downside was that they did not have AC on even with 80+ outside. But they have standing fans.

Google
Seriously so good. Ive tried 3 different appetizers, the kabobs, the crispy pot stickers, and everything was phenomenal. Especially the kabobs. The Famous Amok was delicious for the main course and I get it every time now. The lady and her daughter are very kind and friendly. One of my favorites in the area!

Wow! Truly a hidden gem in Campbell. Hard to find a good Cambodian restaurant in the South Bay till now. Food was very fresh, lots of flavor and the service was perfect. Love going to these local restaurants. Highly recommend checking this place out, it will not disappoint! Thank you for the great food and experience.

Google
The ‘revisit intention’ is strong for this place. The food they serve here is not only tasty, buy it is as comfy as an old hassock. The tamarind garlic chicken wings has a sweet-sour flavor that makes the wings uniquely savory. The house special chicken fried rice is chewy in texture with tender pieces of meat. Samples of Cambodian art, such as textiles, and ceramics form part of the decor. Timely service is yet another reason to visit this place.

We had lunch in here celebrating Valentine's Day, I have to say it was really excellent I like everything I ordered. I ordered everything with red hearts on the menu,I recommend giving it a try. I visited Angkor Wat in Cambodia ten years ago.this restaurant brings back good memories!!!! We’d be back

Google
This non-flashy Cambodian spot is an absolute gem. The flavors are bold, authentic, and made with love. The lemongrass dishes and grilled meats were delicious. The place isn’t fancy, but the food more than makes up for it 10000%. If you’re looking for an underrated spot with serious soul, this is it.

For the incredibly affordable prices, and quality of food, I could give it more stars. Two kobabs are just $3, we had chicken and shrimp, both yum. You have to order the Fish Amok, what's more Cambodian than that - it was warm, fresh and well spiced. For vegetarians, try the garden spring rolls with tofu and the Laap (which they will happily make with a vegan fish sauce). The young lady who waited on our table was attentive, and awesome.

Can't wait to try this place! lived in Cambodia for four years at the beginning of 2020. Came home recently and just move down the street. See you soon!

Yelp
Great prices, delicious food, good quantity, great service. Hard to find something like this in the Bay Area these days. I got a banana leaf wrapped fish for $14, a noodle dish that resembled a beef pad thai for $14, a beef skewer for $4, and a bowl of rice (unsure the price of this). The noodle dish was very generous portions and was very moist. The beef skewer was flavorful but just a bit pricey at $4 for one skewer. The fish dish I felt was a great deal. A really generous portion of fish, about the size of a fist to a fist and a half (depending on your fist size) and had great flavor (albeit a slight bit watered down probably due to the steaming process). The fish went great with the rice. Service was humble but outstanding. It's the little things: we had water on our tables within seconds of sitting, the hostess noticed that I looked cold and turned on the heater as soon as I sat down without me saying anything, great recommendations, fast service; she would do well at a fine dining establishment. 2 hungry people, we left with half of the pad Thai left over. I would absolutely come back at these prices, quality, quantity, and service!

Yelp
It had been a while since we had come to this spot, and we weren't even sure when it made the transition from Chez Sovan. It was right around 6:15 and we were the first ones in the restaurant. Unfortunately, the construction across the street plus on one of the neighboring sides didn't make it easy to spot this place. We told the owner that hopefully once the apartments were done, they'd get more traffic flow, but the owner said the neighboring complex was a senior care home. We tried ordered the tried and true amok, the loc lac salad with beef, the tamarind garlic wings, and a bowl of rice. The wings came out first, loved the crunch on them, but there were some parts that were a little more tamarind-sour that made me pucker just a bit. The loc lac salad was yummy, had a nice sweet tang, and was easy to eat. From a texture perspective, I liked the large pieces of cooked onions and green beans. The amok was pretty good, tender, coconutty, and I liked that there were veggies cooked with it too. Service was nice and friendly, and eventually a few more patrons joined us and made the ambiance a bit more lively. I did try to order the mango sticky rice, but the owner said since mangos weren't in season, they were not serving it, which made total sense. I wish them all the success, and hope they can continue where Chez Sovan left off.

Yelp
Fish amok is soo delish! Comes in a banana leaf. Chicken was also yummy! Service was amazing! Waitress was attentive and on top of it. Interior is nice.

Yelp
Came here before going to a basketball game at Santa Clara University. About 8th trip since ownership change. The Samlaw Chicken Curry was absolutely sublime. While I wish they used thigh meat instead of breast, this curry had deeper flavor than any curry I have EVER had.

Yelp
A group of my friends and I have dinner get together about once a month where we try different restaurants - often ones that we'd like to introduce everyone else to, but just as often - ones that sound interesting and no one has been to before. Bayon Temple was one that no one has tried, but sounded interesting. One of us has had experience with Cambodian food, so we all thought to give it a shot. The service was decent - we were the only ones in the restaurant for the first half hour or so. We were seated at a nice big table to accommodate all our dishes - made sense! Cambodian music was quietly playing in the background and we were able to catch up with each other nicely. The restaurant had interesting decor - lots of pictures of native dress and scenery. It was nice to look at, but its age could be seen. The whole restaurant would be much more inviting if it were to be renovated and updated. While it was clean, it just looked sad and dated. But, the more important part is what we can here to eat - so onto the food! We ordered the new stuffed chicken wings (they only had pork), egg rolls, the tomato and pineapple soup, cha meekathang, and the famous fish amok. Plenty of food for our group and a nice variety to try. The egg rolls were nice and crispy, but thinner than we were used to. The soup was good and the pineapple gave it a nice sweet, yet light flavor. The noodle dish and fish amok were okay, but didn't have much flavor. The chicken wings were also lackluster - while it looked very appealing, it didn't taste all that interesting. Overall, the group wasn't very impressed and we all decided that we wouldn't come back. It also didn't help that many of the drinks/dishes were whited out - I tried to order a few different drinks, but they were out. If you're looking for something different, this may not be the place to start. Unfortunately, there's not many Cambodian restaurants around here to choose from... And I'd skip this one.

Yelp
We were in the Campbell area craving Asian food, and discovered this hidden gem in the neighborhood! It's located in a plaza with plenty of parking. We went for a fairly late lunch around 2pm, and the restaurant was empty when we walked in, so we got seated right away. The restaurant was a bit dim but had a very mom and pop feel. There was only one girl working in the front, but she was friendly and was attentive with providing us service and refilling our waters. We ended up ordering kuy tiew cha (felt similar to a Pad Thai), amok, cha kroeng (lemongrass stir-fry with pork), cha tum beang (stir-fry bamboo), and trey chhean chourn (fried fish). The highlight was the amok and trey chhean chourn! I'd pass on the kuy tiew cha and cha tum beang (stir-fry bamboo) for future visits. Overall, this place felt like a nice hidden, homey, local restaurant. I'll definitely come back and try out more dishes! Maybe even their breakfast items.

Yelp
Truly a neighborhood gem hidden in a little plaza on the edge of Campbell, but the eats at Bayon Temple are pretty legit at a very competitive price. Hard to find full dinner meals for less than $15 per dish before tax/tip in this economy! I'm less familiar with Cambodian, but tasty food is tasty! Interior is fairly homey with simple furniture, but fairly elaborate art pieces on display. Service was great! Quiet day despite it being the weekend, but we were seated quickly and attended to quite regularly and thoroughly. Cha Me Kathang - 4.5/5 Not as soy-sauce heavy as the more Thai/Chinese variants I've had, but delicious with a savory aroma all the same for flatwide noodles. Almost creamy (??) in taste and texture, despite it being stir-fried noodles, which is an interesting difference. Good sized portions. Some chicken was borderline dry but still pretty great all around. Cambodian stuffed chicken wing - 5/5 Unusual but very good. They describe it as a stuffed chicken wing but it tastes more like a particularly fresh/fragrant chicken sausage with heavy notes of lemongrass. Quite plump and juicy. Goes quite well with the sweet/spicy dipping sauce. Needed additional time (15-20min). Beef Cambodian plate - 5/5 Pretty great value for the money. Comes with a savory/sweet dipping sauce (presumably for the beef), rice with some fragrant crunchy bits, and pickled veggies. Beef with most succulant and just the right doneness and seasoning, in great contrast to most beef items at this price point. Well balanced plate overall too!

Yelp
Called in and ordered takeout for a late lunch. When I got there to pick it up I was greeted with the warmest welcome from across the restaurant. The woman working at the counter was super nice and friendly. I mentioned that it was my first time in and my first time having Cambodian food and she was so excited to tell me more about the dishes I ordered. I got the Kuy Tiew Cha with shrimp and Samlaw Curry with chicken. The Kuy Tiew Cha was similar to pad Thai, though not as sweet. The portion was very large and it came with plenty of shrimp. The Samlaw Curry, was piping hot when I got it home, and was also a very large portion. I was able to get 4 meals out of the two dishes when paired with rice I already had at home. My only complaint was that I wish the curry had come with rice or at least specified that it didn't. You never know, what places do and don't include white rice with curry dishes, so I was happy to have some at home in this case. I definitely want to come back here and try the skewers next time too!

Yelp
Send Noods Formerly known as Chez Sovan**, Bayon Temple emerged from the ashes as a rebrand after being closed for nearly two years during the pandemic. They're pretty much the same recipes and menu as before with a few additional items and are still renowned as the preeminent place to get Cambodian food in the South Bay. Our previous visit was pre-covid, and we really enjoyed the food and loved the experience. So maybe now was the time to go check them out once again. The Good: *Friendly service *Parking lot and street parking available *Love the décor as you really do get the feeling of eating in a temple of sorts as diners are surrounded by loads of beautiful religious artifacts. *We didn't get it on this visit, but on our previous visit, we sampled their famous Amok, which is a fish mousse steamed in banana leaves and full of flavor. The Meh: *No outdoor seating *Tamarind chicken wings were just OK. They were fried up very crisp, but the sauce was almost cloyingly sweet and needed some heat to counteract it. *#18: Kuy Tiew Cha, which is sort of a tangy pad Thai, was a big gloppy mess of noodles. The flavor was very tomato forward and pretty good overall, but nothing remarkable. *Cha Me Kathang is a flat noodle dish that's supposed to have a "fried egg" on top, but instead came out with scrambled eggs on top. Maybe it's a language barrier thing, but scrambled and fried are not the same thing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Despite the egg snafu, the dish was pretty good overall but again a bit too sweet. Luckily, the table hot sauce helped remedy that. The Ugly: *$4 for the most watered-down tea ever. I honestly thought it was complimentary, so I didn't think much of it until we got the bill... =/ Conclusion: Overall, we were a little disappointed with our latest visit, but the memories of our first visit still linger, so I'm willing to give them another chance at some point. **The OG location on N 13th St in NSSJ is still operating under the Chez Sovan moniker, but they've been different owners for quite a few years at this point. Which, now that I think about it, is probably a good reason why they changed names, but that's just supposition on my part. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yelp
Delicious Cambodian food with very reasonable prices. I had my eye on this place for a while now and wanted to taste their fish amok, which is a dish that consists of fish and spices steamed in coconut milk inside a banana leaf. The description had me drooling and I was not disappointed! The dish was flaky and so tender, but held together well. Tasted like cod or a similar mild, soft, meaty fish that doesn't have much taste by itself but makes a great vehicle to absorb the flavors of whatever it's being cooked with/in. The man who seated is also recommended his favorite dish to us, cha eark- which is a stir fried ground meat with veggies, peanuts, lemongrass, jalepenos, with a bright burst of lime and other fresh herbs. Wow!! This dish was an explosion of flavors, I'm so glad we listened to his suggestion. The flavors were extremely complex but worked together amazingly well. There was a savory component, umami from the fish sauce, bright notes of citrus and basil? along with lemongrass, and a bit of sugar to round it out I'm guessing. Absolutely incredible, I will definitely get it again. We also tried the tamarind chicken wing appetizer. This felt flat as the wings were dry. But the sauce was tasty. We came on a slow evening as we got an early dinner and there weren't many patrons inside. Do yourself a favor and come here, the food is incredible. Parking can be difficult as they share a lot with several other businesses including a bar, but there is street parking as well.

Yelp
This was my first time eating Cambodian food and I have to say that everything was delicious! We came here for a late lunch and ordered the beef and chicken kabobs, the #17 and #20 and Thai tea. The kabobs were perfectly grilled and had a nice aroma of lemon grass. The #18 was very similar to a pad thai dish but slightly a little more sour. The #20 was similar to a pad see ew but with a few more vegetables. As for the service, the waitress was very welcoming and kind. She came by to check on us a few times. Portions were generous and prices were very reasonable as well. I definitely would come back!

Yelp
I popped into Bayon Temple after a hair appointment nearby and so glad I ended up coming here for lunch! This was my first time trying Cambodian food and it was such a treat. Because it was a Friday afternoon and not super packed, I had the chance to speak with the owner at length, who told me more about the business and menu. She makes an effort to keep prices affordable (I believe the pot of tea was only $2) because she knows how expensive it can be to go out to eat these days. Her daughter ended up joining her later, and I thought it was great that she helps out with the restaurant. Everything here is made from scratch, including the addictive dressing-sauce hybrid that came with my lunch special, and the tea was so delicious as well. I had the pork rice plate and everything was seasoned well (plus a very generous portion size). Please come and support this family-owned business, you won't regret it!

Yelp
The food is delicious. I can tell it was made with fresh, top-quality ingredients. The service was excellent. I had never been to a Cambodian restaurant before, and the server took time to answer our questions and explain the various dishes. The food came out quickly. The only downside was the building is old and some parts need to be fixed up. That's the only reason I'm not giving it five stars. I did like the decorations, though--the art and houseplants were beautiful.

Yelp
A hidden gem amongst the hidden gems. Come to this place for Cambodian Thai flavors. With a limited menu you know they are all refined in taste and perfected. The ambiance is minimal and dated but the food is the show case here. Samlaw Curry with beef- great flavor, tender beef, chunks of potatoes and carrots. Mildly spicy for a little kick. Great over the jasmine rice. Cha me kathang noodle - a unique flat noodle dish that looks like pad kee mew but completely different and unique sauce. Would eat this again! Cha eark entree - looks interesting and odd like mushy meat but surprising in texture and flavor with the subtle lemongrass. Also delicious. Overall a very enjoyable food experience. Must try

Yelp
What a delicious hidden gem! We especially loved the amok fish and the saac ang chicken kabobs. Friendly and attentive service. Definitely returning here!
google avatar

Alex V.

Yelp
This place is delicious!! I went here with friends to try Cambodian food for the first time and this place definitely did not disappoint. The Saac Ang-Kabobs (we got steak) in particular were super tasty, as was the Cha Kroeng, the Cha Earl and the Loc Lac Salad (I couldn't stop eating the salad - it was suuuuuper tasty). The service was pretty good! It's a family owned place and while not the nicest inside, it's really all about the food and the food definitely did not disappoint at all.

Yelp
My friends and I had one of the best spontaneous dining experiences at Bayon Temple. We were looking for food nearby and one of the friends recommended this place. We were a group of five so we got to try many different dishes, which I highly recommend. The waitress was extremely kind and explained the menu to us and checked on us frequently. We ended up getting most of the recommended items on the menu and we were impressed by every single dish. They all tasted delicious and authentic. Even the way it was plated made me feel like I was eating this food in Cambodia. In general, the whole meal felt very warm and cozy. I highly recommend it!!

Yelp
Omg ....Ive been to Cambodia , twice and loved the food there . I have no idea what this place was serving , but do yourself a favor and don't go here . If you do make the mistake of going , peak your head into the kitchen . You'll turn around and RUN OUT !

Yelp
First time at a Cambodian restaurant. When I entered I was greeted by a very pleasant man. He could have been the owner. He recommended items in the menu. I ordered the Beef Skewers or kabobs with pickled veggies. I love them! It was savory, tender and moist. I had the noodles like Pad Thai with Shrimps and topped with an egg and peanuts. It was ok. The serving was huge! The next entree was called Cha Eark Beef - Minced beef with Lemon Grass, peanuts, onion, sweet bell peppers and jalapeno. It's was very good! For dessert it was the phenomenal Mango Sticky Rice. Ambiance is good - quiet, clean and the owner was really friendly and helpful.

Betty C.

Yelp
We discovered this neat place a few months ago and it's one of our go-to's for Cambodian food! I love the Temple atmosphere. We always order the banana leaf steamed fish, mango sticky rice, and whatever else they recommend that day. The house hot sauce is savory and flavorful. Great service, can be a bit slow but they let us call our food in before we arrive which is a nice perk.

Jeff B.

Yelp
Love this place! The food is super delicious and authentic. Just as good or better than before the name change. Good alternative to Vietnamese or Thai, plus prices are very reasonable.

Daniel T.

Yelp
Bayon Temple isn't going to impress you with it decor. It's a bit dated but the food is really good and very affordable. Best Cambodian food In San Jose.
google avatar

Nicole K.

Yelp
The food here was delicious - we weren't familiar with Cambodian food and the waitress helped us decide on 6 dishes - the Trey chhean chourn (fish) was so good and my favorite. The prices were also amazing for how great the food is
google avatar

Kendall L.

Yelp
Went yesterday. I think maybe they changed owners cuz they didn't have a lot of the pictures listed here for food. I felt like it was false advertising. The meal was so so and the place was extremely run down. The waitress was nice. It was more I felt like it was not what was advertised.
google avatar

Dong Wook C.

Yelp
3.5 stars for food. Server was nice. Had the Famous Amok, Samlaw Curry with chicken, and Cha Eark with pork. Famous Amok - Flavors were ok but I felt it needed more spices to add more dimension. Also, I would have enjoyed it more if they used a deep sea fish such as cod or halibut. The fish was farmed and tasted like the typical bottom feeder type such as catfish or tilapia. Cha Eark - I liked this dish. It had enough kick and flavor but my guest, who is a great cook of Southeast Asian cuisine, had much higher standards. Of the 3 dishes, my favorite was the Samlaw Curry but my guest thought it was just "ok". The interior looked very traditional. There was ample parking on site. I enjoyed my meal.

X X.

Yelp
Very delicious food, friendly staff and generous portions. Our favorite place for southeast asian food in South Bay. The restaurant is also spacious and we're always able to get a table immediately. Favorite dishes: - cha eark (ground meat of your choice) - kuy tiew cha (tamarind rice noodles) - tamarind chicken wings

Jack H.

Yelp
Amazing food. Great flavors. Home cooking from Cambodia, literally. Good portion sizes. Polite service. Options for vegans and vegetarians.
google avatar

Lisa M.

Yelp
I loved the food at Bayon Temple! It's one of my new favorite Southeastern Asian restaurants! (very similar to Thai but less spice and more aromatic). We had the Stir Fry Broccoli, Cha Throp (eggplant), and the Samlaw Curry, all with chicken. First, the serving sizes were good sized! We had plenty of leftovers. I also like that you can order a giant sized pot of rice (we always seem to run out, not this place). I really appreciate that they don't skimp on the rice. The curry was our favorite, followed by the eggplant dish. The brococoli wasn't our favorite, wasn't enough sauce, was a tad bland and broccoli wasn't cooked enough. Probably healthier though and it wasn't bad! I just thought the other dishes had more flavor. I should also mention that it's very affordable for the area. The only bummer, and this is huge, they don't offer any vegan options (other than a vegetable dish or two.) That was disappointing considering they offer so much tofu. So unfortunately, I can't go back with my family :( Also, no alcohol right now, just an FYI. That will probably change though since they are new and need to get a liquor license first.
google avatar

Sunil R.

Yelp
I remember coming here a long time ago and enjoying the food. Their name has changed but the decor is the same and the food is also the same and still very good. Note that Cambodian is similar to Thai but not the same. They don't use as much coconut milk and I thought the food was spicier than the typical Thai fare. Service was attentive and friendly, there was only 1 girl working here when we were there. I was there with a large party and got to try out several items. Everything was good and everyone finished their food despite sweating through the spice levels.
google avatar

Carlapot R.

Yelp
We had the Kuy Tiew Cha. It's pretty much a Cambodian Pad Thai but this is much better! This one's really tasty and saucey. The egg was cooked to a crisp on the edges which I really like. Shrimp was not overcooked. The Pork Laab was just a bit too citrusy. I don't have a prob with that cause I really like citrusy food. But maybe for the others it might be a bit too much and overwhelming, But the flavor was already perfect. Fish Amok was wrapped in a fragrant banana leaf, usually not visually appetizing but can't go wrong with this one! If you like anything with coconut cream/milk, you have to get this. The Cambodian Steak Kabob was packed with flavors. It was tender and juicy. The pickled veggies on the side complemented the beef well. Steamed rice (small). It was actually enough for 3 people! The customer service we received was really good. She's really kind and polite. She thoroughly explained to us about food allergens and made sure we're not allergic to anything. And she kept checking in on us if everything's good or if we need anything. Their ambiance reminds me of my home back in my home country -- the smell of of the incenses, the buddha statues. It felt cozy as if you were eating at a friend's house and their mom feeds you with their home-cooked hearty meals. Now that we recently moved to Campbell, we will be going back more often now :)

Yelp
I cannot remember for the life of me how I found Bayon Temple but I am so glad I did. this place is a real hidden gem. I think they're connected to Chez Savon (or its the same people?) but I've never tried Chez Savon so I can't compare the two. The restaurant was fairly empty when we came and the parking lot is a bit tight but let me tell you, the food is spectacular. Legitimately one of the best meals I've had in a while We ordered: - papaya salad: spicy, sweet, sour, fresh, DELICIOUS! what else needs to be said - samlaw beef curry: the seasoning is perfect and the depth of flavor is simply spectacular. it's not too spicy so you can ask for chili on the side. it has carrots, potatoes, onions, and beef (or whichever meat you choose). this is probably my favorite dish - cha eark: we got chicken. this dish is one of their populars as well and it has lemongrass which made it so aromatic and addicting to eat - chicken kabob: cooked and seasoned well, pretty big for just one for $3. I would love to try the other meats based on this one - garlicky and so yummy I don't normally eat leftovers but I took all my leftovers home and finished them. food baby imminent!! I would love to try Chez Savon based on my experiences here but their hours are a bit odd. Certainly wouldn't mind returning here for more yumm

Yelp
My 1st time trying Cambodian food! This is such a great addition to the Campbell area and I hope more people find out about this place. I driven past this area a few times and never noticed it but it appeared on my yelp search so we decided to stop by on a Sunday evening for dinner and I guess it just recently reopened/changed restaurant name (formerly known as Chez Sovan). We walked in and were greeted asap. The menu is simple but I'm unfamiliar with Cambodian food and wished there were images of the food on the menu or maybe post photos of the food on the wall? We decided to order #28 green bean sautéed with tamarind w/ beef & #31 eggplant with pork (we wanted tofu, but they were out). The food came out quick and hot! The tamarind sauce is a little bit different with a little bit sour and sweet taste but it was nice to try something new. The eggplant with pork was tasty too and everything mixed well with the side of rice. Everything was good and great portion size. Nice interior with lots of decorations. Service was very friendly and they have designated parking spaces. Must try if you're in Campbell! I'll be back to try more of their dishes!!

Tim R.

Yelp
Super place! We loved the food - the noodles and stew were wonderful and tasty, and our server was very kind and attentive. We look forward to returning and are glad to have found this restaurant!

Yelp
Walking into Bayon Temple you'll immediately see why they call it that. Upon arrival you'll notice the stage area to the left decorated with statues, paintings, and plants. Truly unique to see a restaurant dedicate that much space for an experience. Prices are very reasonable, a dinner for one with 2 entrees and a drink costing around $30. The servings are HUGE. I was barely able to get through half my meal. Lots of leftovers. I liked the dish similar to Pad Thai (Kuy Tiew Cha) had good flavors of sweet and sour that really balanced each other out. The Samlaw curry also a very solid pick, but not quite thick enough for me to get it again. They just reopened after covid so I'd give it a shot. Great service, great food, and great value for your money.

Nicole P.

Yelp
Stop what you're doing and go eat here. Why are you still reading this review?? Go now!! And make sure you get the Cha eark, saac ang kebabs, and laap! Any meat option. But the kebabs are my favorite. I do a few of those with rice and I'm one happy camper. Amazing lemongrass flavor - I truly want to eat it every day, it's a problem. Please give it a try! I need this place to stay here forever.

M O.

Yelp
Really tasty, well prepared food. Shrimp in the dishes was tender and not overcooked, same with the fish dishes. It doesn't say so on the menu, but rice comes with the entrees. Great flavors, pleasant attentive service. Incredible value for money. Surprisingly slow on a Saturday night, but hopefully not for long.

Yelp
The Campbell chez Sovan is now the Bayon temple restaurant. We went for a mid week family lunch and the restaurant was empty. The menu had several unique dishes and we tried their chicken kebabs, tamarind flavored rice noodles, house fried rice and lemongrass chicken. The kebabs were the best, well cooked, moist and redolent of lemongrass. The lemongrass chicken was great as well, it was made with minced chicken and had great flavors running through. Tamarind noodles were unique, never had noodles with tamarind flavor before, the flavors were not overpowering which was good. The house fried rice tasted clean, probably not the best dish we had but not bad either. I recommend this place if you are looking for something different from the Thai and Malaysian places.

Yelp
Had been meaning to go to this place for quiet a while and finally went there last week. After going there, realized that most of the food contains fish/ oyster sauce. Was pretty disappointed by that. The choices were very limited as I am a vegetarian. Got fried tofu with rice and it was okay. My friend who eats meat also didn't like her food much. The service is very slow and the restaurant was nearly empty. Lot of reviews mentioned about mango sticky rice so we ordered that. Even that wasn't very good. Wouldn't recommend this place if you are a vegetarian otherwise there are a lot of choices.

Yelp
Extremely greasy and tasteless eggrolls. Eggplant dish badly undercooked. Cold, sterile, and uninviting environment. Decent service, but we will not be returning.

Yelp
Absolutely in my Top 5 in the South Bay. The Amok, Chicken Laab, Papaya Salad and Yellow Curry are my go-to's (I always order an Amok for myself). SJ has a lot of hidden gems as far as culinary options go. But this one is always a hitter. I've taken many friends here, and they all swear by it. Family-owned and run. Always warmly welcomed, which is always a plus. Stop sleeping on this place!

Yelp
I actually really like the food here. My favourite were the tamarind garlic wings, followed by the fried fish. The tamarind garlic wings were delicious, sticky honey with tamarind and were served hot. I recommend this for sure. The fish had an interesting topping of salty beans and ginger but as a fish fan, I am bias to anything fried fish. Would have been amazing if they served a whole fish Asian style instead of it filleted. The Tom yum soup was also kind of generic, had a little hint of sweetness but if you're not desperate for it, it's ok to give this a miss. The most interesting new dish I've tasted was the beef and eggplant stew. It was a sour stew but wasn't too pungent or strong like Thai curries. Definitely some new flavours. The only disappointment was the papaya salad. The other half said it was a very "American" papaya salad - there were no chilli peppers. If you visit, please get the tamarind wings. Restaurant needs a little update on the decor...:)

Yelp
Anxious to try this restaurant, we went there Saturday just before noon. It was closed - very dark, no sign of anyone inside. Website and hours posted on window indicated they should have been open. Very disappointed.

Yelp
Good food, good size, good price, especially when compared to other restaurants these days. Tried some of the popular dishes and they were pretty good. The crispy chicken dumpling was good. Cha Me Khatan was also just OK. These two were not bad but nothing special. The Famous Amok fish dish was nicely steamed in banana leafs, maybe could use a tad bit more spice but that's probably just my preference based on my childhood experience. Cha Eark with chicken and Sawlaw Curry were quite tasty. These two were good, gotta have them with rice though. Will definitely stop by again whenever we're in the area.

Yelp
